hey:: new idea:: how about posting with each score a stat list with how many "not in dictionary" errors each person gets?

Spam is totally a word !

another idea:: post the highest-scoring word for each puzzle after it's over . . . like for today, that word might be "peddles".

suggestions aside : this is a great, great thing. thank you so, so much. i just found my first nine-letter word!

ok I found a 15 pt 'z' word but why doesn't 'trods' work?

because trod is past tense.

there are 2 that use the "z" - I was suprised that one of them was in the OSPD as it's not extactly PC

there is a GREAT nine letter word!

hey just a thought but what about a ranking system. something based on say only the 5 previous puzzles so that not too much advantage is given to those who have been playing a while. one way it could work is that whoever finishes first gets 1 point and everyone else gets a fraction of their score with respect to the first place score. for example player A gets the high score of 1000 then 2nd place has a score of 950 so that person gets 0.95 points (950/1000) etc. finally multiply that number by 20 so 1st place gets 20 points and 2nd place would in this example get 19 points. then over 5 puzzles ideally if you win everytime the highest score would be 100 and other scores would just be a precentage. thoughts anyone?

Ok - I'm guessing this is easier cause I'm not that bright, but still managed to get a 9 and 10 letter word. Your scoring system sounds good.

I've got 1119 right now. I'm guessing there are others that are significantly higher because I haven't seen the mysterious 9 and 10 letter words that a couple people have mentioned.

-- scoring could just be (number of times you've been in the top 5) / (number of times you've played) -- and you only get a score if you've played at least 7 games or something. -- if 'trod' is past tense then what is the present tense?

-- or it could be like real boggle so that you get extra points for words that few other people got. that might be a little difficult, though, to code.

It would be cool to know how many words are possible at the very beginning of the puzzle.

i think it would be dangerous to know how many words are possible...not knowing makes it kind of interesting too because you just dont know if you have enough points to win

the biggest scoring word I found was "mariodinis"

i played for an hour and a half or so last night, and now i'm starting up again tonight before the puzzle goes away. currently i'm at 62 words and 1097 points. i only found one z-word, though! drat. i am : an addict. my galpal, too!

and : the 78 and the 98 were my nine and ten letter words.

also : if my eyes tell me that i'm seeing "dormant" in this puzzle one more time i'm going to poke them out. with sticks. 'cause it's still not.

zyconium - But it's the plural form of the 78 point word. Plurals are specifically allowed.

lol yes they are one the average person my probably see everyday, you've probably seen them everday and didn't realize it!

you could even use them in daily coversation! too here's and example: "hey johnny did you hear about <78ptword>? its incredible!"

Most of the words given away in the chat log are, in fact, not words. I agree about real words being posted.

i'll say this, though : i've been sating at this puzzle for a decent amount of time, and i JUST NOW noticed a word that's so obvious that it pains me that it's taken this long to find it. which says something real and good about this damned game.
