that upper right corner is useless
what about adding a clock feature and keeping track of time spent on the site and words per minute?
i think the ranking system should be modified. at present if you want a high ranking you need to play only the high scoring boards, whereas if you play every day you'll never get in the top ten. the upper scoring limit for each board should be taken into account.
for example, this board isn't going to be a big pointer and that'll put off people playing it. i'm not playing cos my ranking will go down. boring i know, but thats the way it is...
i've noticed that too (i mean about high scoring boards and ranking points). i'm not sure if the clock idea is practical but it would be cool. keep the ideas coming.
I'd say doing well on a puzzle like this one should be highly rewarded. Mr. Trickle?

Not in favor of the clock feature (unless it's FYI only). I fit this in when time permits (sometimes on breaks at work!)--don't necessarily do it all in one shot...

I'm with Yecats, I do it as time permits. I didn't finish on Saturday (never got to T) but I guess I don't really look at the ranking averages, just yesterday's top people to see what I missed. :)
I'm with Kimchi et. al -- I look at it when I am compiling a program or something, take small breaks.... if I don't get time, it would suck to have a limit......

No doubt, pj, no doubt. I was thinking of the clock as culmulative of the time spent on the site throughout the day. That way, if you only have 20-30 mins to spend as opposed to 3-4 hrs to spend, it could be taken into effect. You could even have a pause button if you like to keep Babble running in the background but, of course, you couldn't enter any words at that point.
