Yep 1 7 so far. After yesterdays ignominious defeat, that really makes me feel like I'm cleaning up in this puzzle. It's the little victories, I guess! :-)

good morning all ewww yesterdays puzzles was damn difficult, but I begin to hate this one too grrr
I play Babble offline by printing the puzzle and writing down words - then come to the computer and type them. Saves me money.
sini, that's too hard for me. i'd at least want to use a word processor, then cut & paste my words. you could also spell check before putting em in. :)
sapphie, i'm out of town this weekend, and wondering if i should take my laptop with me or let beluga *withdraw* for a few days.

Well, I'm not going to beat anyone with my score, but I can beat nil/beluga's total of animals - 4 (including one slang word, admittedly).
i left that one out on purpose, put it out to pasture so to speak

Woot, found the 8 and the 9 through the random letter method.
Well, I only found one 7, and I couldn't find the 8 or 9, but I learned a lot of new words today and I'm quitting at 150.

RFH: What's the "random letter method"?
Random letter method is basically just trying every combination of letters you can think of until you find a "valid" word. This 8/9 letter animal is driving me mad! I'm refusing to go to sleep till I find it.
Still no luckon the 8/9. Hyp - lets run in the morning - say 9 ish? Any interest in going at my place on that path? I'm stuck at 87 / 4.45 / 957. Grrr.

The 8/9 is an uncommon term for a fairly common animal.
In fact, the animal's common name is ALMOST in the puzzle as well.
How pathetic would it be for me to ask you to expand on that? :)

The giraffe relative would be tough if you've never heard that word before. It's pretty obscure.
