Everybody gone to bed. On a roll of 52 words so far.
i'm here. got 59. :)
but i'm about to hit the sack.
can't believe it won't take a really kool word like zoot, as in zoot suit. :(
I was sad as well when it rejected "zoot"!
Two 7's so far.
Well, if it won't take zoot, it will take zees.
"Sootier" is so close yet so far.

got two birds!
Damn. Always with the birds.
I got a cow.
what you don't like birds hour?
I thought I had a cat "ocelot"
haha, it's not that I don't like them, it's just I don't know the names of many!
I missed the worm to feed to the bird.
yeah I didn't either till I started hanging out with Sapphie on here, she's good at birds! This is one of the best games I've had in a long time so far, there are so many words in this puzzle. I'm all stoked.
No "ecoli"
k, i must really suck. why do i see nothing EVER
If you don't see "ever", look deeper in the well.
Found 2 spanish words, but only one worked.
It lates in this neck of the woods, going to be hard to get up at 5 am. Ending with 104 4.46 983
This should be easier than the last one.
woo hoo! 95 point word!
I cant belive how many Z words there are !!
And another round of stats: 23 sixes 8 sevens 2 eights no nines And about 19 z-words...
Max: 219 words for 3304 pts. (96x4, 78x5, 30x6, 10x7, 3x8 and 2x9) Best word: 120 pts.
magician, there is a nine :-p
Even two! Wow! And by the way, it's Magican, not Magician... :p
There's a 9 worth 120 points!
Lol, magican, two huh? I'll have to look again......
Iam so ashamed of all the words I *should have* seen yesterday! How could I miss dainty!?
I sure have time to play this now :D
Ashy, you should be working!
I'm working. How about YOU?
It's 15:25! So I've done my share. BTW got the 9 & 120 pts! ;) My first nine ever.
Sini, you should know in Sello, sitting is my job...
Well at least try to look like your working... And look around sometimes.
Sini, even though I'm sitting I still look busier than other employees around here.
2k without breaking a sweat, but still missing a 9
Have a nice weekend Ashy, I'm off - broke 1000 for the first time so :D - can you beat that? See you on Monday.
cb--broke 2 k also, but had to sweat doing it. One 9 is a plural, but it's singular is not in the puzzle. The 2nd 9 adds an "s" to an 8 letter word in the puzzle.
wonder what aussies think about roos not being allowed?
thanks lawyer, nice tip on the other 9
Right, I am calling it a day with 102 words and 2004 points.
wish it was woozie, not woozy...
you're on the right track 4t8, just think more plural. ;) it's a 7 letter one
ooh! thank you! :)
okay..who wants to gimmie a nice little hint on some 9 words then :D pretty pretty pretty please with a cherry on top?
alright, i have 1944 so i suppose i can drop a hint. the 9 letter word worth 120 pertains to old films. the other 9 letter word is rather obscure & only worth 72.
more specifically..the 120 pt one :D
i got the 72 pt one..not the 120..old films, huh..hmm..
thanks beluga
oh great! I have no TV! LOL that's no hint!
next time i dispense a clue, i'll make sure it doesn't reference mass media.
Thank you, beluga!
i got the 120 word first. it's the "obscure" word that's messing me up.
it took a while for me, so keep looking. or maybe someone else will drop a hint; i don't want to take all the credit for generosity around here. :)
for the obscure word, a hint would be like..hmm.someting to do with the old kingdom days..with castles and such
i still cant find the 120 word..im going crosseyed
The obscure one is so obscure that it harkens back to the Middle Ages.
didn't know about medieval connotation. the original concept goes way back to pre-Christendom.
according to the dictionary, it originated in sparta. interesting.
yeah, it's not something greek civilization is commonly given credit for, like democracy.
okay..back to the 120 pt 9 letter word..anymore hints? :D
i think castles, and turrets, dungeons, and moats come to mind. also keeps and crossbows. :(
but it's a concept, eh, not a noun...hm.
no, it's a noun for a concept! but it's not something so concrete like a particular structure or weapon, it's more like a class of somethings or someones.
class might be ambigous; maybe state of something/someone is more apt.
Is it to brazen to ask if it has the Z? I assume it must, if it is so many points.
Actually, Beluga, I meant that I go back to the Middle Ages!
that's ambiguous, not ambigous. :( how can i play babble if i can't spell?
as do i, counselor. incidentally, middle ages is when you lot (of legal eagles) first started pushing paper around, is that not so?
Not me....I pushed around papyrus.
yeah! the first 9 ever
I can't take anymore....finally found the 9/120 I'm done! 113 words 4.65 1366
Anyone care to help me reach 3,000? I am about 200 points shy.
alas, m&o, our medievalism lacks z's.
Hmmm... both 9s are eluding me. I'm learning new Z words through random guesses, though
certainly, counselor, if you can provide us the words you already possess, we shall provide the ones you lack posthaste.
Not valid? Wolephis?
178 words 4.94/2885
What's the record for, "Oops! That wasn't a valid word." in one game?
by my calculation, 41/4.xx/419. glad to be of assistance. :)
i was refering to your penultimate comment, of course.
Well I must go to bed, its 23:56 here. But at least I got the 120 and stats 87/4.64/1143
Hey PJK & Big Al -- we'll have to combine forces next week when we're all together to see if we're smarter collectively than individually (stranger things have happened). PJ, have you taught Katya to play yet? :)
i give up--my eyes are beginning to bleed 124 words 4.61 1469
Nirvana attained! 188 words 4.93/ 3009. I'll bet you several others will score higher.
121 words 4.69 1569
AAAAAh! I am obsessed. I can't stop knowing there are 2 9 letter words!~
I'm really upset it won't accept zoot.
AND IT DIDN'T LIKE ZORO
mal was you thinking of ZORO as in the mask
have a great weekend all! c'ya monday! salut tout le monde a la semaine prochaine!
inching upward at 166/4.81/2465 thanks to a pair of rather obscure words from oz, which makes it even stranger that roos is disallowed.
thanks for the hint beluga. 120pts!
Hey, help us non-Aussies!
can't find the 72 pt. any hints?
only 38 points combined. here's a clue: aussies would get the 2 words immediately, i'm guessing. since i'm not, i got it by random typing.
many clues already on 72. sparta was really good clue, if you know ancient greek history.
well...i got a cool 8 for 95. :)
oh! of course (silly me) add an s and it's 9 for 120.
The torture!
you have more points than i, though. chin up!
How can you tell?
your earlier entry
has anyone else ever considered making up a 5X5 grid, assigning a number to each box, and making every possible combo of numbers, then assigning letters to the corresponding numbers? when i'm stuck at 110 1455 it seems a great idea!
checkin out with 2 6's 39/4.54/420 my favorite holiday
wait, got another 6
M&O -- I misread your post - I thought I was looking for a twentynine letter word!!
Egad -- just realized what a feat that would be, given a twentyfive space grid!!
don't think we're likely to see a 29 letter word, but i've always wondered what happens if you get a 10 letter word.
for programmers out there, pity cshell isn't allowed. :)
calling it a nite with 175/4.83/2613. it was a good one for the birds, at least 3 by my count.
whatever that is... does that mean my mathematical idea would be bad i guess? so! stuck at 1498 and no 72 in sight.
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Found the 9 ltr word!!
i meant 3 bird species in the puzzle, one of them worth 28 points. :)
oooh a 40-pointer, niiiice.
Well, I can't claim all the glory for myself (thanks PJK and Big Al!), but I can claim most of it. ;) 143 words / 4.76 / 2116
WEll, found the 9 letter 120 one, but not a whole lot else, and time is running out.... Hypothetico - have fun at the wedding, knowing that you have soundly kicked Chris and I's butts
65 words/634 points. not bad for 20 minutes' work. wish i'd started earlier. this was a good puzzle.
