I thank you for TRANK and HAUTE, and give you MAUT. Everyone had good scores yesterday, perhaps because there were fewer words available to us, but it was a good puzzle (I think) because we had to concentrate to get those words.

btw, i got trank before you wrote that, but can't find a definition - do you know what it means? there is a poisonous snake from southeast asia in the puzzle.
Boy! I 'googled' the word TRAN, and got a reference to a music festival in Finland, a German family name (derived from DRUNK) and the street-name for crack cocaine.....
