It's been in the mid to high 30s C (close to 100F) for the past few days - much hotter further South. But that's unusually hot for here. Usually the average for us in summer is high 20s, low 30s. (around 86C)

I wasn't going to say that ... but it's too late ... ... they were close to extinction in the Toronto and southern Ontario region in the fifties so someone thought it would be a neat idea to introduce two or three nesting pairs onto Toronto Island in about 1961 ... they got put on an endangered species list and they're still there ... ... even though there is something like 250,000 of them on the Toronto lakeshore now

The rest of us minions had to sit through two ours of meet & greet and "this is what I do for the City". Painful, since most of us have been working for the City for over 10 years.
We all at least know each other by first name. It really was just a time suck.
