11:51 am

Any help coming from the Buffalo connection today? :-)

12:19 pm

I have all of the words starting with: E, F, I (i), K and most starting wtih: L, N (missing just one of each) I'm missing a few for the remaining letters and would love some help on them. Happy to help with the ones I do have in return. :)

12:36 pm

any clues for 6 33

12:41 pm

If there are 7 n words they go ; 4/4 , 4/6, 4/5, 4/6, 4/4, 6/18, 4/5 .

12:49 pm

Thanks Karin.

12:54 pm

Treble9 - The clue given earlier is that it relates to a 4 letter word for 9 points. I've only found three of those so far (and one is a bit obscure). If you have any of those, start there. If not, or if you don't think you have the right one, there really aren't very many ways to make a 4 letter word with that many points. It does not use the K.

12:55 pm

can you help with the 8 70

12:57 pm

jlm_mi.Have you got that last l word i`m missing one too , but do you want what I have ?

1:00 pm

Treble99 - Those clues for the 4 and 6 will eventually lead you to 2 8s, a 70 and a 65. Karin - I have not yet found the last L. I have: 5x4, 1x5, 5x6, 3x7 Do you have something different?

1:00 pm

That didn`t sound too good but I think you know what I mean.

1:04 pm

jlm_mi.I have 6x4 L`s. Have you got the one in the bottom right corner?

1:06 pm

Nope, didn't have that one. You learn (several) new words every day! So, have you figured which one you're missing?

1:10 pm

jlm_mi. Yes thanks just looking now.

2:05 pm

Did Babble hang up for anyone else for a while? There was quite some time I couldn't get in, but I exited netscape and got back in and it worked, so not sure if it was me.

2:15 pm

So, Karin... this thing you've got - pehap's there's a support group, for it (or for them what's got it?)

2:23 pm

Christine . Your`e welcome to any help at any time if I can give it .

2:30 pm

You're a good girl... y'know, I'm considering dropping Judith and Marianne, finding new sisters, so.... (They don't even answer my emails... what's a Big Sistah to do?)

2:43 pm

I haven't got any 7s 8s or 9s

Three eights but not a seven to be found.

2:46 pm

I just got an 8 for 60!

2:48 pm

The point values for 4 of the 5 8s and 6 of the 7 7s are: 8: 70,65,45,60 7:44,28,32,28,40,40 The first 2 8s have been discussed throughout the log as starting from a 4 for 9 points. The third 8 is also a 5, but it is not generaly heard in that form. The 4th 8 is a 6-27 with a suffix. The first 7 is a prefix on a 5-14 that I found by accident. The 2nd 7 rhymes with the 8-45 and starts with a 4 letter word. The next 2 7s have the same 5-letter base with 2 different prefixes. The 5th 7 adds an e to a 6 letter word that is very common for 27 points. The 6th 7 might be heard in a cowboy film. :-D

2:49 pm

It is interesting that none of my 7s are related in any way to any of my 8s! But, I'm still missing at least one of each (not sure what the mystery word is yet), so who knows?

3:20 pm

the last 8 is an r8 for 45

3:23 pm

the last 7 is a m7 for 36. It may be an extension of an m4 for 6, but I don't know what the definition is. I just tried it and it worked.

3:27 pm

It won't take amore? :(

3:29 pm

Thanks for the clue to the 7, claws (still looking for the R8). I have done a bunch of searches and not found a definition either. Some pretty funny stuff comes up though - apparently there is a porn star with that word for her last name. LOL!

3:43 pm

How about S words? I have 6x4, 4x5, 1x6 and am missing one. Anyone else?

4:32 pm

Christine you have mail.

5:12 pm

jim_mi...I have same s's as you...mine are 8 sa's and 3 sk's...how about you?

5:17 pm

The same. Darn! I hoped I'd find a difference, LOL! I'm also still looking for As, Ds and Rs. I'll list mine for those, but then I have to head out for a while. Hopefully when I return someone will have compared! A: 4x4, 7x5, 3x6 D: 18x4, 5x5, 13x6, 3x8 R: 20x4, 9x5, 6x6

5:26 pm

I cant find any 7 or 8s

5:31 pm

A's: 5X4, 4X5, 2X6 D's: 17X4, 5X5, 9X6, 2X8 (all less than jim_mi)

5:42 pm

I found the R8!! :)

6:42 pm

How about e's? I have 3X4, 2X5, 3X6 and am missing one...

6:43 pm

Is there a definition for the r 8. please

6:59 pm

It is a 4 letter base word with a prefix and a suffix...something you do with money.

7:11 pm

mammaJill......Thanks got it.

7:13 pm

I have the same numbe of e's that you have. I will keep looking .

7:13 pm

Is there a definition for the 8 for 70. please

7:54 pm

MammaJill - You are missing a 7 letter E. It is worth 44 points and is a prefix on a 5 for 14.

8:04 pm

Marigold -- wet, or wet-ish

8:05 pm

Sorry, Marigold, I meant WETTRD

8:07 pm

OMGosh, this is the correct spelling: WETTED. If this is misspelled, I'll just post the word!

8:25 pm

Chrstine.... Thanks I got it.

8:32 pm

i am missing the last 8. it is the 8 for 60. Is there any clues. please

8:33 pm

I can't find an I-word,, and only one K4/8. Back to the saltmines.

8:37 pm

Aha, Marigold, think of a cute Asian beastie, then misspell it... you'll get P6/27 and P8/60 - plus a smile for the critter.

8:43 pm

Thanks Christine..... I got it. I really appreciate your help.

8:59 pm

I found the I word it has 5 letters and is 12 points. muslim edict, a sultan's decree

Can anyone help me with the last k-word? I have 4/11, 4/8, 5/18, 6/33.

9:11 pm

The k word is 4 letters and means a irish foot soldier

9:21 pm

Actually, you already have the foot soldier. It's either a smoking material such as hemp, or an undefined word, also 4 letters, same number of points as the hemp.

I have that one already, but thank you anyway.

Oops, that was for marigold...

9:26 pm

Thank you for the I word - when I tried that earlier today, it was rejected <snarl>.

9:31 pm

marigold, thank you, but I still need the r/8.

9:35 pm

the r 8 is making money again, could I have a clue for the 5 letter k please

9:36 pm

dimwit, thanks, I found it before I read your post.

9:43 pm

Another plea for the k 5/18 please ?

9:46 pm

dimwit, do you have the k/4 for 8, if so just add an e to the end

9:48 pm

the k 5/18 is made from your k 4/8 .

9:48 pm

Thanks, silly me ( again ) got the 4 and 6, didn't think to try the one in the middle... I'd convinced myself it was something else.

9:57 pm

i see you up there rabbit, how about helping your sis

9:59 pm

Are there two words K4/8? I now have 4/11, 4/8 and 5/18, and I know I need 6/33.. but I think there should be five words?? <big sigh>

10:03 pm

the k/6 is past tense of the 5/18. Yes, I believe there is another k/4 but I don't know what it is.

10:05 pm

my k's read like this, 4/11, 4/11, 4/8, 5/18, and 6/33.

10:06 pm

busymom what are you searching for?

10:07 pm

do both k/4s start with the same two letters ?

10:09 pm

no, the second letters are different.

10:09 pm

rabbit - the ones that you have that i don't. i already know that you are about 50 ahead of me right now. i think i have 111 words now

10:09 pm

dimwit: no they don't

10:09 pm

on the k 4/11's that is

10:10 pm

no

10:12 pm

Well, silly old me, I had the K6 (past tense of 5), and noodled the second K4; so now I'll look for the other E and three Ns. This has been a good grid.

10:14 pm

Dimwit - the first two Ks differ in the second letter. Thanks to eveyone who gave me clues.

10:16 pm

Rabbit and Dimwit - sorry, I really should read the chat, before I write a response...

10:17 pm

Thanks Christine, I have it now. What strange word we learn here !

10:17 pm

Words, I mean!

10:25 pm

Dimwit - I keep a notebook nearby, while playing this game, and note the words and definitions. I'll never use them (probably) but I'll see them next time they appear in the grid. A word a day keeps Alzheimer's away (or something like that) use it or lose it.

10:29 pm

Mmmm, probably more constructive than my notebook, I have one where I note down every word I know, that I find that the grid WON'T take ! Better star another one like yours :) Have to go now, busy day tomorrow.
