tepple is the Yiddish word for pot. Enable has taken Yiddish words in the past.

3:12 pm

gell

3:12 pm

3:13 pm

Enable is a fuss pot of which words it will accept or not.

8:56 pm

who's in charge here anyway?

8:58 pm

tu6/18: turlet - Archie Bunker's WC.

9:35 pm

i am betting in the middle ages it was pronounced "k-nave". i think same with light and might and sound and mound. i bet once upon a time all was pronounced: that is why we cant understand middle english when it is spoken.

9:36 pm

ru 8: two words. ru 4: laws and ru**s, and add opp of more to end.

9:38 pm

marc i would love a clue for the ge 5. ty

9:40 pm

any cues for the E words for the E left column and 3rd column? ty

9:41 pm

got the one for third column so need the one for first column only. ty

9:44 pm

left column is ev 7/8 what judge roy moore thinks he is

9:44 pm

god????????????doesnt he think he is god????

9:45 pm

ty got the ev word.

9:45 pm

That too

9:45 pm

i wonder where the word ev****** came from. i get the last 5 letters, but what does ev mean added in front?

9:46 pm

i mean what does ev mean as a prefix? cant think of another case of it.

mkg: It was originally "eu", not "ev", and that prefix means "good". Think "euphoria".

9:48 pm

It is from the bible and means spreading of good news. It is from a greek word

9:48 pm

I don't think 'ev' is a prefix in this case, mkg - it's a completely different word.

"Gene", as a name, means bred. "Eugene" means well bred.

No, pastor, it is a prefix. The last five letters of that word are based on the concept that *****s are, in the old testament, messengers. There's a root that means "to announce".

9:50 pm

SamanthaJoy is correct. It is a prefix

So eu = good, an*** = root of a word meaning "announce", and the word as a whole becomes "spreader of good news"

9:51 pm

Learn something new every day, even at my age! The following day though I usually forget...

Ha, I'm with you there!

9:53 pm

To my shame I've known the meaning of the word so long I've never bothered to learn its history.

It was a revelation when I learned that the opposite of myopia is presbyopia

11:09 pm

As a biologist, I've always taken the eu- prefix to mean true or genuine, as opposed to psedo-. So I've had a hard time making sense of it in many of its uses. Thanks for the insights.
