That's discriminatory against pirates!
Bleh. Wish I hadn't started this one.
Quittin' for the night at 61/945. I have two 8's, both for 40, and 7's for as high as 56.

BabbleStats By word length: 4 .... 96 5 .... 67 6 .... 30 7 .... 23 8 ..... 6 ========= total 222 ========= By start letter: A 23 C 17 D 15 E 29 G 7 H 14 i 7 N 6 O 4 R 27 S 45 T 18 U 1 W 3 Y 3 Z 3
My highest so far is an 8 for 50
Got all the 'z's
Maybe I am missing an obvious prefix but it looks very hard to come up with 29 E's.
i've found 26 E's ... at least i think i have. I haven't entered them yet ... so maybe babble wil knock 'em back.
I've found 1! LOL
I have four 8's so far: a D, an E, an N, and an R which I did not expect to be accepted as a "real" word!

Hi Stef, Going out soon, so only on for a few mins
Going dancing?
You asking :) No-that's Thursday
What was your 'planning' word last night?
Can you give a clue for D8 please
Whew! Much relieved to find that Satan doesn't exist! Gonna enjoy myself now!
I can't find any of the 8's :(
Fishbulb, neither can I!
Stef, no intension of trying to beat you tonight. Leave your final score though, just in case.
you know Ive drunk quite a bit of syrah for it not to be word,
and doestn naugehyde from those cute little nauges?
hey! I grew up among the shonas. the shona tribe obliterated by playbabble? George Bush beware!
I like Babble OTAY!! :P
Sorry, folks, Syrah, Shona and Satan all seem to be proper nouns. So, does anyone else believe that those word counts per letter can't possibly be right? ;) A's and E's? A's - 2xAi, 1xAN, 6xAR, 1xAS, 1xAY E's - 2xEA, 3xEE, 5xER, 2xEY
well I have 18 a's and 18 e's so far
So, steve, then you probably have more than I do in some of those areas. Care to share? ;)
i have 23 A's and 22 E's, so they must be close to right.
OK, I was joking about them being wrong. shortseer hasn't lead us wrong yet on the counts, it was just an exasperated whine that this grid is hard. So, any help from anyone?
Hang tight. I'll psot my A's breakdown shortly
A's= 2 ai, 7 an, 6 ar, 1 as, 1 au, 1 ay
e= 3 ea, 1 ed, 3 ee, 6 er, 2 et, 4 ey
Wow! I'm missing a lot of an words. But that should help me hunt for them. Thanks!
A's: 1 x ae 2 x ai 10 xan 6 x ar 1 x as 2 x au 1 x ay
E's : 3x ea 1x ed 3x ee 1x ei 6x er 2x et 6x ey
I'm missing 4 c's
Nope, make that 2 C's
I browsed the A-list at Forthright's Phronistery and found a bunch of words that way.
up to 20 a's and 21 e's
I am missing a ton of S's. I have Sax6, Scx4, Sex4, Shx6, and Six7.
ive got 31 s's right now
saX7, scX4, seX5, shX6 siX9
Up to 26 Es including 10xEY.
thought I had tried the Jane words before hmmm
Jane words?
oh! yeah.
I'm new at this and have just managed a 7 letter = 52 points, are there any better scores?
At 10:46 am Krys10 said... I have four 8's so far: a D, an E, an N, and an R which I did not expect to be accepted as a "real" word! Oh yay! I was missing one R, and one 8. So that clue solved 2 problems in one go. :) Of course, i'm still missing lots of other stuff ....
I have not found any more 8's since I posted at 10:26.. anyone have hints about the last two?
Yep. Near the beginning of the log goforit posted the complete stats - number of words of each length and number for each starting letter. Throughout the log are clues to some of the longer ones. I highly recommend taking 10 minutes to read the log thoroughly and note the clues. There's a lot of good info there!
Q posted earlier that there are 2 8s for 40 points, so in addition to the D,E,N & R that I have, there is one more 40 pointer, and one more unknown 8 letter word.
Thanks
I only have E8 and S8 any clues for the other 8s please
I'll give clues for the others, if you give a clue for the S8. ;) D/8/55 - those who condemn openly E/8/50 - eccentric people N/8/40 - those who stamp things to make them official R/8/55 - a particular poison
D 8 - people who oppose
The D and N 8's are both plurals of people.
S/8/40 - to ridicule
ack! British spellings get me every time. Thank you!
theres a S6 for 18 which means Irony you should get the S8 from that, Im not very good at giving clues
the S 8 is to find the humour in things
D8 tenths of a particular unit of measure D8 those who condemn openly E8 eccentrics N8 name of a particulr public officer (plural) R8 the killing of a particular nasty verminous creature, or the necessary poison S8 lampoon That's all the 8's ;) Now, who has what 7's ?
Going to bed youngster; hope your evening was exciting. Total for this evening is 112/ 1609.
A starter kit on 7s: d/40 - die d/40 - one who condemns openly d/40 - condemns openly e/36 - eccentric e/52 - range of vision h/40 - more hirsute h/40 - harasses h/40 - more gray with age n/40 - observed s/40 - contemptuously addressed men t/28 - lingers t/28 - more weepy
shortseer, thanks! I can't believe that R one is a real word. D7 - singular of first D8 D7 - ordains or establishes D7 - singular of second D8 H7 - harrass or disturb H7 - ancient looking S7 - parodying, related to S8 S7 - rugged mountain ranges S7 - old-fashioned way of addressing a fellow T7 - delays; makes late
I wonder if your S7 mountain word is the same as my S7 knife word..
there is an s8/40 with an English rather than an american ending
The knife 7 and the mountain 7 are two different words.
Is the mountain one a 7/28?
Krys10 - yes - mountain s7/28
My heads hurting that's me done with only 61 words...boo hoo....
The 7's : D7 die D7 10th of a unit of measure D7 ordains or establishes D7 one who condemns openly D7 condemns openly E7 eccentric E7 range of vision H7 more hirsute H7 harasses H7 hayride 7 56 H7 more gray with age N7 observed S7 parodying, related to S8 S7 Arranged or occurring in a series or in rows S7 Having a saw-toothed edge S7 looks like badly spelt word meaning sequences S7 An evil spirit; a fiend S7 A rugged range of mountains S7 contemptuously addressed men S7 sirs (emphatic form) T7 lingers T7 more weepy There's still one more not listed here!
oops i seem to have given a rather too much of a clue there LOL
Thanks for the H/7/56 shortseer. ;)
I have Cex1, Cix3, Crx6 and Rax8, Rex4, Rix8, Ryx1. Anyone with more care to share?
I have CEx3 but no more anywhere else.
The 4 and 5 letter S's ... I have: 2x SA4 2x SC4 1x SE4 2x SE5 3x SH4 4x SH5 3x SI4 3x SI5 Anyone have more 4's or 5's ?
I have 3xSA4, 3xSA5, 1xSC5, and 2xSE4.
Are you SURE you have 2xSC4? :)

ah. can't count. i have 1x SC4 and 1xSC5
shortseer, could you tell me the point value of the cloud one please?
C7 36pts
Thanks. I'm sure I know the type of cloud you mean, but can't get it to fit. I'll keep looking :)
different ending
shortseer, different ending to everything I've tried as well!!!
Got it thanks :)
I have an SCx6 (plural of SCx5) as well!

there are two sc 6s too
I'm hunting for an elusive C I have : CE5 CE4 CE5 Ci4 Ci4 Ci5 Ci7 Ci5 Ci4 CR5 CR5 CR6 CR5 CR6 CR5 CR4 Anyone have another C ? (and yes, this is an alphabetical listing for those still hunting for more C's)
Wait, how can you have all the S's with my help, when I am still missing 4? I guess the ones I am missing must all be 6's...
SA6 SC6 SC6 SE6 Si6 Si6 Si6 Si6 Si6
I'm still struggling with D7-condemns openly, and S7 parodying, related to S8
No I'm not -wrong S7! Should have been S7 Arranged or occurring in a series or in rows
Stef, Finishing at 102 words 1657 :)
Oh i've been going crasee trying to criate the final C6 word. Finally got it. Dictionary.com hasn't heard of it. It means grease according to my BIG dictionary. Another one of those crasy scottish words. All finished now .. and what an effort it was. 222 words 4.99 3326 Woohoo! :D
Shortseer there's a second cr5
oops, sorry, misread your list.
shortseer and fnurt - when I add up all the S words you've posted, I only get 43. What am I missing? 3xSA4 1xSC4 2xSE4 3xSH4 3xSi4 3xSA5 1xSC5 2xSE5 4xSH5 3xSi5 SA6 2xSC6 1xSE6 5xSi6 SA7 3xSE7 SH7 3xSi7 SA8
5x Sa5 3x Indian garments 1x speaker and 1 more which might be a past tense of "to say" or could be a Bolivian dish (food, not crockery). Even my BIG dictionary couldn't help me with the definition for this one :(
oops change one of those indian outfits for a past tense of of "to say" (and this one ISN'T the possible bolivian dish) sorry! i've overdosed on S's and become totally confused ;)
Thanks! According to MSN Encarta it's an alternate spelling. If you removed the A you'd get a groom (for horses) in India, though that's not the definition dictionary.com has without the A.
