Damn the erst!!

12:24 am

189 words today. Four are 8+

12:28 am

Thwap is to a word!! I am positive I have seen in in a caption ballon for a Batman storyline...anti-comic dictionary...

12:37 am

Wow! I have all the long words... three nines and an eight.

12:39 am

BTW, to anyone wondering....my 12:18 post was refering to yesterday's puzzle, and that is the one E word I missed...

12:44 am

67 for 662, and largest words are two 6's. Done for the night.

1:01 am

if i see fetch 1 more time.... poof

1:11 am

I don't believe it! A useless trivia word I've had in my head for fifteen years! (W6)

Hurray, I found two of the nines!

6:52 am

...EUWOP... off the southern coast of England??

7:27 am

BabbleStats By word length: 4 .... 94 5 .... 53 6 .... 28 7 .... 14 8 ..... 1 9 ..... 3 ========= total 193 ========= By start letter: A .... 14 C .... 25 D .... 8 E .... 8 F .... 10 H .... 23 i .... 3 L .... 10 N .... 4 P .... 19 R .... 7 S .... 8 T .... 30 W .... 24

9:33 am

My big words so far. Hopefully someone else can help fill in blanks: 9-66 P 9-96 P 7-48 A 7-52 H 7-52 H 7-36 P 7-56 P 7-48 R 7-28 T 7-28 T 7-52 W I have not used the X yet. Has anyone?

9:35 am

I'm only at 66, but I haven't used the X yet.

9:37 am

and I have an 8-letter D word.

9:38 am

and the third nine! (don't have the first two, though) It's related to the 8-letter D word

9:39 am

I have the 9/66 but havent found the 9/96

9:40 am

I found the 9 at the same time you did, and would probably have not thought to try the 8 without the hint. Thanks! So, add 9/60/D and 8/45/D to the list. :)

9:40 am

It's fun to be able to be helpful :-)

9:41 am

The 9/96 builds off a 5 and uses a different meaning for that word than the two meanings I was familiar with.

9:57 am

Add a 7/T/36 before the 2 7/T/28s.

9:58 am

goforit, what solver did you use? you got different stats than me.. (189 vs 193)

10:01 am

g'morning! I don't have your 7H's yet, but I do have two 7-52 W's.

10:05 am

Oh! and I have another 7-36 P.

10:10 am

Krys - The boggle/tangleword solver uses the enable lexicon, same as babble, so it generally gives accurate results on the count. But, it doesn't actually give a count (you have to count the words, which are given in lines of 10) so it's easier to mess up and look at them. Also, when I was doing stats it was easier to use the boggle/wordracer solver because it gives the words in a list, rather than in "paragraph" form, and my script could handle the list. Apparently goforit's script can handle the "paragraph" form better, so it's great to get such complete stats from that solver!

10:12 am

i'm glad to know that the people who usually do the stats have better easier methods than counting each word like I did the other night!

10:41 am

My search for a W7/52 led me to WAILETH which sounds Biblical enough to be a word, darnit. I have a 7/52 starting with Wa, is the other one a Wh word?

10:47 am

Yes, and I'd guess you have the 5 letter root word of it already.

10:57 am

Oops. ;)

10:59 am

are your teeth nice and bright? :) (am not being cheeky, just hinting)

11:00 am

oh! you winked just now. never mind... i like waileth though. wish it accepted more "eth" words; they always sound so poetic... i "rethaw" stuff now and then!

Can anyone help me with the H- and R-7s?

Oops, found the R.

11:09 am

One of the H 7s is just like a W7, but with an H. :) The other, think bowling.

Thank you, I got them both. :)

11:21 am

The bowling one still escapes me. I'm one word short for a few letters - hopefully someone can help: F's: FA4x3, FA5x3, FA6, FR4, FR5 L's: LE4x5, LE5, Li4x3 R's: RE4x2, RE5x2, RE7 (ok, two short) S's: SE4x2, SL4x2, ST4, ST5x2

11:25 am

You are missing: FA6 for 33 points RE4 SE6 for 24 points

11:30 am

I also have some letters where I'm missing 1 (or 2): AC4x4, AC5x2, AC7 AF5, AF6 AH5 Ai4 AW5 DA4x2, DA5, DA6, DA8, DA9, DE4 PA4x2, PA5x2, PA9 Pi4x3, Pi5x2, Pi6x2, Pi7x2 PO5, PO7, PO9

I have an RE6, Krys10.

11:35 am

jlm - I'm missing some of yours, but I do have an AW6.

11:41 am

There is an Li5 out there.

11:56 am

Are there two FA6's? I already had one...

12:00 pm

Krys10 - Yes. :)

12:21 pm

There's still one A, one D, and a few P's unaccounted for, I believe. I'm on E: I have four 4 letter words and a 5. The fours all have a different second letter.

12:26 pm

I have 4 Es - 3x4 (each with a different second letter) and a 6, which is a verb tense change of one of the 4s.

12:30 pm

Whoops, I'm sorry - I had an E6, not an E5. Low on caffiene today.

12:30 pm

OK, found another 4 and the 5 leaving 2xE unaccounted for. There are only 2 Ps unaccounted for, unless I messed up on my list below.

12:30 pm

Ah, well there is an E5 then. ;)

12:45 pm

W's? WA4x5, WA5x2, WA6x2, WA7x1 WH4x4, WH5x3, WH6x3, WH7x1

12:50 pm

you are missing at least 1 wh4

1:05 pm

I also have a WO4.

1:06 pm

Thanks. Must tear myself away.. must keep family from starving...

1:31 pm

I have a question. Looking for spelling given definition. The word is for that thing in your sink that the water comes out of or that thing on the side of your house that you attach a hose to. I think it is a 6 letter FA word.

1:33 pm

It won't accept the spelling I would have used! I assume you're the same?

1:36 pm

I think it has a u in it...that's probably why it won't accept it.

1:37 pm

you can't get to the 4th letter if you use the 'u'

1:38 pm

That's why we tried using the 'w' :-)

1:40 pm

Still missing FA/6X1 Have all the Ls.

1:40 pm

It's definitely faucet, and not in this puzzle. :)

1:41 pm

Yep. Just googled it and the most popular spelling is with the U not the W.

The two F6s are very similar.

1:45 pm

How 'bout some more letters: CA4 CE4x2, CE5x2 CH4x6, CH5x3, CH6 CR5 HA4x3, HA5x2, HA6, HA7 HE4x5, HE5, HE7 Hi4x3, Hi5 TE4x4, TE5x2, TE6x3, TE7 TH4x3, TH5 Ti4x4, Ti5x3, Ti6, Ti7x2

I have 3 CE4s.

I mean 4 CE4s... and 3 CE5s.

And one more CH5.

1:56 pm

Helter is so a word!!!!! How else could one run helter skelter? :-D

Sorry for not thinking to put all these in one message... I also have 6 HA4s.

2:02 pm

Thanks - I would not have tried all those Scottish H words, but there are only so many places you can go to find 6 HA4 words! :)

i have 2 ch6's

2:10 pm

I now have CH4x7

2:20 pm

I have 5 Ti4s

2:30 pm

the TE7 - how many points is it?

36 points.

2:31 pm

My thoughts exactly Jlm_mi. Helter IS a word! lol :o)

2:48 pm

I now have TE5x3.

2:51 pm

I don't think there have been any clues for the missing D word (have there?) but I found it: a second Da word (a Russian countryhouse or villa)

2:52 pm

A second DA? There's a bunch..

2:53 pm

Ah, I see - two DA5's. Thanks!

2:53 pm

I'm guessing Boo meant a second DA5 or DA6, but don't know which.

Only nine words to go... still missing an A, four Cs, two Ps, two Ts, and a W.

2:54 pm

sorry, yeah it's a Da5.

Make that 13 words to go... forgot about the 189/193 thing.

Also missing two Es and an H.

2:56 pm

There are two sevens out there that haven't been mentioned - does anyone have all 14 of them?

Found one of the Es; it's an EC/6/33.

2:58 pm

I only have 7 7s

2:58 pm

Well, then RFH, you've been holding out on us! :-D Care to share stats for the Es, Hs and Ts? I'll post what I've got and maybe you can fill in the blanks? EA4 EL4 ER4 ES5 ET4, ET6 HA4x6, HA5x2, HA6, HA7 HE4x5, HE5, HE7 Hi4x3, Hi5 TE4x4, TE5x3, TE6x3, TE7 TH4x3, TH5 Ti4x5, Ti5x3, Ti6, Ti7x2

3:01 pm

jlm_mi, there's an EL5 out there.

3:03 pm

Thanks, that wraps up the Es! :)

3:04 pm

I think RFH has one more C, one more H and two more Ts than have been posted so far.

Looks like we've found all the Es, but here are my Hs and Ts: HA4x6, HA5x3, HA6, HA7 HE4x5, HE5, HE7 Hi4x3, Hi5 TE4x4, TE5x3, TE6x4, TE7 TH4x3, TH5x2 Ti4x5, Ti5x3, Ti6, Ti7x2

3:14 pm

am I counting wrong? Aren't there supposed to be 8 Es?

3:14 pm

Yep, there are. See posts at 2:57, 2:58, 3:01.

3:15 pm

Oo, oo, the 'IT' word from the 2000 election is in the puzzle.

3:15 pm

oops, didn't see the clue about the Ec. Thanks.

3:15 pm

Yep: ea4 el5 el4 er4 et4 et6 Plus an ec6 and an es5 that I haven't found yet.

3:16 pm

Indeed, mulhermujer. Don't leave it hangin'. :-D

3:19 pm

could I have a hint for the TE7? I'm never going to get to the gym at this rate!

3:20 pm

I'm dangalin' here!!

3:22 pm

The TE7 is the plural of a male falcon, which is one letter added to a 5 letter word meaning the third canonical hour.

3:23 pm

got it, thanks.

3:26 pm

The last A is an AC6.

3:27 pm

perwinkle..... you have mail

3:31 pm

And the last W word is a WA4.

3:32 pm

do the two 9 letter p words built off of the same 5 letter p word? please

3:32 pm

no, but they have the same suffix

3:33 pm

marigold and periwinkle - Just a suggestion here. I'm not trying to be critical or anythng, but wouldn't it be easier for the two of you to chat privately during babble via an instant messenger, rather than email. Then, you'd know automatically when you have a message from the other one. ;)

3:33 pm

Could somebody put a list of the 7s on so I can see what I'm missing. thanks

3:34 pm

I'm missing two: 7-48 A 7-52 H 7-52 H 7-36 P 7-36 P 7-56 P 7-48 R 7-36 T 7-28 T 7-28 T 7-52 W 7-52 W

I found another seven, an H for 52. It's possibly the most ridiculous word ever.

And the last two Ps! A 6/24 and a 7/36 combo, building on a 4/6.

3:48 pm

Could you give a clue for A7 and H7s please.

3:49 pm

11:09 AM clue for the H's. A7 is what I'll be after I get back from the gym.

3:53 pm

RFH - I had your 6/7 combo. Wonder where I misread, because I'm still missing two P's...

3:54 pm

Hey thanks Krys10! Got the A7.

3:54 pm

thanks I got the A7

3:56 pm

Krys - There are 3 x 7/36/P including the one for the 6/7 combo. (Actually, two 6/7 combos and a stand-alone). I like the last H7 word!

Krys - there is another P6/7 combo that is the same amount of points and only differs by one letter; do you have that?

3:59 pm

yeah, I have three 7/36's. I think I'm missing something else: 4 5 4 5 9 4 4 5 5 7 4 6 7 6 5 7 9

4:02 pm

I matched your Ps to mine. You're missing: a 6 and a 7 between the first 7 and the 4 that follows it another 6 near the end, so the end goes 6 5 7 9

4:03 pm

Krys - Are you sure you don't have 2x7/36/P and 1x7/56/P? The way you've written your Ps makes it look like that's the case. :) The final order for 7s is: 7-48 A 7-52 H 7-52 H 7-52 H 7-36 P 7-36 P 7-36 P 7-56 P 7-48 R 7-36 T 7-28 T 7-28 T 7-52 W 7-52 W

4:04 pm

I must be missing a few words, I haven't used the X once - or the D in the corner or the P below the X. :o(

4:05 pm

d'oh! you're right. thanks.

4:10 pm

Just found a CH5/CH6 combo. Fishbulb - There is no guarantee that you will use every letter. But this morning at 7:27am log time goforit posted the statistics as to how many words there are, how many start with each letter and how many are of each length. Compare your words to that and you'll see what you're missing. Also, throughout the log (which is worth reading thoroughly if you like hints) there are hints to the various words that can be extremely helpful.

4:11 pm

Is that your second CH5/6 combo?

4:14 pm

Yep, although actually it's my first alphabetically. :) Just found a TH5. 3 words to go!

4:15 pm

Posted too soon. There is a TH6 to go with the TH5, but the TH6 does not end in S. ;)

4:15 pm

Cant get 7H bowling clue

4:16 pm

And the missing C words are a CH4 and a CH6. 193/3205

4:19 pm

Agh! This P thing is too aggravating. I'm done for the day: 179/2846

Finally done! 193/4.88/3205

10:31 pm

I love your nick, Fishbulb. :-)

11:21 pm

Just in case anyone wants a list of just about any Names of Males, Females, Babies, and Groups of Animals, you can go to: http://www.enchantedlearning.com/subjects/animals/Animalbabies.shtml Quite an incredible site. But an excellent resource for all kinds of words. I was going thru today's messages and saw the one about the male falcon, and found the word on this site. :)

11:27 pm

I'd really like to have to two P9 words. Does anyone have any clues they could give out? I know the point values already, and that one is Pa, and the other is Po. Are there any other clues to be had? And I have already read thru all of today's messages.

11:30 pm

mulher -- I just found them and they're sort of pathetic words . . . add a suffix meaning 'the most' to some simple 5 ltr words you have. HTH ;-)

11:33 pm

I tried 'one who spreads liquid color a lot' , 'one who stacks a lot' and 'one who takes a lot of illegal game', but no go with all three of those. I only have three 5 letter P words. I'll look for more. Thanks for the clues. I had a feeling I was looking for something to do with them 'the most' suffix. :)

11:39 pm

Arg!!!!!!!!! I'm getting nowhere very fast...

11:41 pm

mulher -- add an 'i' to the 'most' ending -- the liquid color is one, the other is one who trespasses in order to kill wildlife ;-)

11:41 pm

Anyone, any other clues for the P niners???

11:44 pm

Ah jeez, I would have NEVER thought of that. One freakin' letter. Thank you so much :) Hope I can return the favor on some future game ;)
