well done!
too tired tonight, 84 for tomorrow, good night all
good morning all. Glad to see a grid worth playing, lol. Must have been a lot of withdrawal in babbleland yesterday
cooee and hugs {{sprite}}. how are you today ??
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend. A quick babble before a training day. Working on a model again today, pretty exciting. I am tired, but good. Enjoying the training immensely.
how are you and Don?
good for you darling. don still coughing but definitely not as much. i had hydro this morning. hip and knee a little sore.6 new exercises today, plus the 8 i already had.
woweeeee! You are going so strong, honey. Am so proud of you.
good to hear Don is on the mend at last
what i simply cannot work out is why he has to cough so LOUDLY. he also barfs loudly, sneezes loudly.
he is a male :D
doesn't fluff loudly....which is not good really because they are what i call one cheek sneaks....
LOLOL!
or silent but deadly... loll
hello dear Kam.
oh I know that kind. They are killers.
hiya Kam! *hugs*
Our poor guys can't win some days. I sometimes wonder what they say about us to their male friends...uh oh! I know I'm guilty of snoring *loudly*
Hiya sprite and rose!
yeah... all of a sudden this miasma wafts over your way.... *gag*
My dog is guilty of that
*giggles* Knowing guys, they don't say much. One will say "Women!" and the rest will sigh in masculine solidarity
oh, terra too! From under my desk. Ughhhh.
Sounds like your therapy is giving you a huge workout, Rose. How are you holding up?
*giggle* one night we were out at a friend's for dinner. there was this ghastly smell... the hubby got away with blaming the dog. poor Clover got put outside. it was years later that he fessed up.
got to go!
Enjoy your day, Sprite!
awww sweet friend. hope you enjoy your day honey. xoxox
kam?? isn't hubby's programming coming up soon?
Friday!
oh !! how exciting !! praying for no events happen to stop this appointment.
But he has to go off his meds for at least 24 hours before, if not more. His Thursday won't be fun, but I should be back to normal by Friday...huge change of plans happened yesterday and we ended up over 100 miles from home today, but he was with his daughter and her family. Nothing is going to glitch Friday - I had to reschedule my massage/chiro appt for tomorrow, we just got home a bit ago...I'm pooped. I drove up, but he had to drive home. I can't see well after dark
ugh what a journey... i hope you can rest well tonight.
what happened that you were so far from home?
I will, once I finally wind down. The dog is completely, totally, passed out - he met a new friend today, and they played their hearts out! The new dog is just under a year old, and Blaze just turned 5 - he was ready to leave after about 3 hours of rough play.
Hubby's daughter moved too far away...
She called yesterday afternoon and invited us up
sweet, but maybe he needs to learn to say 'no' when there are two BIG days in his week. he should be resting totally in preparation.
No, SHE needs to learn to plan ahead. I had to change all sorts of stuff, but he somehow can just keep on keepin' on day after day after day...he amazes me, especially after all he's been thru
It's not like she didn't know Father's Day was today until yesterday...
was it a special day for her then?
ahhh, i see.
our Father's Day isn't until September.
Do you not have Father's Day mid June in Australia? I know a lot of celebratory things are by country
ah
because May, Mother's Day the following year is about 40 weeks after Father's Day.
Hmmm, our Mother's Day is in May. I know our 4th of July is an American thing, but the other things that honor different people seems to vary across this wide world. I love talking to people from the world here! We're starting summer, you're heading into winter...
The US seems to have Father's day and graduations during the same few weeks in June. Schools change semesters to quarters in some places, some are year-round, others are still on the old schedules from when I was a kid
Kam, think about what i wrote. Father's Day, traditionally wife gives into hubby's begging. 40 weeks later (the length of a 'normal' pregnancy) is Mother's Day. i think it's a scream... loll
well, it's close anyway...
haha! I didn't think about the 40 weeks...makes sense
Oh, and future son-in-law asked his sweetie's dad for her hand today. Wedding is next June
Hub's answer was "It's about time!"
lolll...
omg, i am yawning soooo much. today was my second up with the sparrow's day, in a row. mind you. all my own fault. sat up latish o view the new series of Poldark Saturday night.
I'm tired too, it's12:17AM here. I try to be in bed by 2AM. Being a night owl by nature is a curse in today's world. Hey, retirement doesn't have a schedule! But, when it's cooler outside than inside, windows are open...and the world starts making noise really early...for my tastes, lol!
for goodness sakes Kam. GO TO BED !! loll you silly dill.
I'm good if I'm in bed by...2:30. I have earplugs! Plus, I'm used to the roosters, turkeys, aplacas, dogs, and much snoring (hubby and dog both snore, but in different keys.) Hubby sometimes does snore sonatas, lol! He was infamous in our re-enactment groups for the snoring even before we were a couple
And...fireworks!
WTG KAM !!!
see you after the flip honey. xoxox
TY! *Hugs* and, since I have no clue what time it is for you, have a great, day, evening, night, or ... just a great one!
ZZZzzz...
5:30 pm. too early for bed. :-(
Normal service resumed I see..
Was hoping for a huge grid today but will take this anytime compared to yesterday :-)

Michele and l just picked about a quart of red currants. l'm too lazy to make Jelly (l used to make a lot of it) bu l just mash them up with sugar
Nice to have fresh fruit, whatever you do with it.
And l'll mash the sour cherries with sugar and add "fruit alcohol"
and wait a month
exercising great restraint!
I love fresh cherries. But pitting them is a pain. I know where the phrase "the pits" comes from. : )
haha
And then you have red fingers for days.
plastic gloves!
Ah, good idea. I have a problem with gloves though. I can't get the texture of anything when I have them on.
l'm allergic to latex but with red fruits or with beet (l make pickleed beets twie a week!) they are de rçigeur.
typo city!
beets* pickled* twice* derigeur*

i don't post much anymore-kinda over that phase lol. Yes we are doing very well ty. You? I hope the same :-)
Status quo here. i understand about the bloom being off the rose with FB. Not so pleased with it myself...though I went on a posting rampage yesterday. :/
lol- i iwill have to look for that. i went off as well about the children. well i have done my initial run thru- going outside to get some stuff done before it gets too hot. see you later :-)

12.8 times larger than yesterday's grid. Can we do it?
It will be a mighty struggle Scrabs :)
Hi Kate. I will do a bit now then must leave to shop for my mother.
Too nive to be inside... do you have much to shop for?
Oh, yes, my mother gives me a long list every week. Then I visit her and clean her. When I am done I get to see my grand-nephews.
I have yet to tell her that I will be out of cell signal range when I am backpacking for 3 days next weekend.
Bust day! I had forgeotten about the epic chore/shopping lists...at least you egt to see the kids :)
ep 5 please
Hi all, had so much fun with yesterday's grid!
Seeing the boys is the highlight. They are cute and funny.
bust day.. now you're talking TK
aI don't envy you having to tell her you will be incommunicado - agian! Let your sister field this jone?
Looking, buttonman...
ep + most of what rhinos wear button
Every day is a busty day for me, ruru
Hi ruru.. yes, I decalred bsut day so the over-endowed can loan me a bit ;)
I would love to share as I am quite top heavy
Gwen came back! :)
With the 10-word grid, Gwen?
just a teacupful please Scrabbler ;)
sorry Scrabbler, don't get the ep5 clue
ep + the front appendage on a rhino mostly
got it, thanks
Bust days would be titillating for some people I think
Maximum titillation, Ruru.
70 down for me and that is enough. Maybe I will return tonight. Enjoy the day, folks. It will be a hot one here--high 80's.
ooh
that's hot for Buffalo
was 101 here the other day
A bit sticky too, but at least there's a breeze :)
had to turn on the AC
ugh.. I would wilt in the humidity of the east coast
i took a shower and then had coffee and was sweating again
so humid
It gets pretty terrible there in hig summer, doesn't it Shirl?
it's only 10 am and it's just awful
before
I played a bit a tennis and had to quit because i melted.
I miss tennis..
playing again tomorrow, at least it will be in the shade and doubles, not singes. I think I'm too old for singles, or at least too out of shape.
i preferred playing doubles too.. a lot less running around
i used to play 16-20 sets a week (totally stupid and insane)
that's why i have no knees left :D
Has anyone been to the "Friendly Gathering" music festival in Vermont? Is it okay for an 18 year old grandson?
isn't everything ok for an 18 year old?
Good point, ru.... he wants help to purchase the ticket and I'm feeling like an old worried grandma (who has forgotten all the rock concerts I went to around that age, clearly! lol!)
I try to play 4 times a week for an hour and a half. I didn't exercise for many years, so I still have knees.
fw
it's all part of life experiences ch.. you can't shelter them from the world
morning all
4 times a week is good mix
I took my 18 year old grandson to the Netherlands, Norway & Denmark before he went in the army. I wanted him to see some of the happy countries and to think of returning someday. In some places he slept in a hostel while I hoteled it.
The drinking age was 18,18 & 15. I said you have to be sober enough to ride your bike home.
Oh, what an adventure! I wish we could afford to take him overseas on a trip. And you sound like a wise grandma.
jeez... a little too old for Roy Moore then cig :D
Guns & Roses was in Copenhagen. He was exhausted.
never been a guns and roses fan personally
nor I
i also don't care for Led Zepplin either
hi all. help with er7 or pr7pls
no, I mean who builds airships with
er = e + type of mammal
er7 wind power
He did not go but the experience at the hostel afterwards was exhausting. He finally walked the 5 miles to my room so he could get some sleep.
hostels are awful
pr7 - maybe checking grammar and spelling on an article
hmm, type of mammal
pr7 is the past tense of the word that means 'check for errors'
Thanks for the input, both cig47 and ru. I feel a bit better. He lives in the northeast and we live on the west coast.
ty kitty
yw
Vermont is a really safe state too

wow, schools in NYC are closing early because of the heat
i think that's a first
Wow. Never heard that before. What's the temp in NYC?
it's HOT
says high 80s but also high humidity
Pfffth. Wimps.
heh, like when they closed the schools in DC because of an inch of snow
s/b 103 in Tucson today - so 80s would be spring weather here
foggy here
news may have a more on this, i just saw a bulletin go by
It gets very hot here - but we don't have thee humidity to deal with.
the humidity is pretty bad
38 here, was hotter over the weekend
i'm not sure we broke 30 C yet
anyone got the 7's???
I am stuck on the 2nd Or5/12.
scroll to see the er7 clues
got 'em thanks
or+ cut something off
grody is not accepted, but it's in More Words
thank you jzw - I was also stuck on that one
Ty for the Or clue.
k, not all NYC schools are closing early, just the ones without AC (?!)
Grody was a very common word when I was in high school... 36 years ago.
i didn't realize that there are schools without AC!
All the schools here in CT are without AC. Lots are closing eaarly
Some of the old PS schools in NYC are VERY old - still run on boiler systems. No AC is probably common.
School is still in session..? All the ones here are out.
i guess? i don't have kids so i'm just going by the news
NY schools start later - usually 1st week of September, so they close out the year at the end of June. Usually by 6/25.
There were a lot of snow days here. They must be made up
Yep - snow days get made up at the end of the year. Or they shorten spring break, etc.
Pe5/14??
spanish man's name
Not that the kids learn anything at the end of the year

hi all. help with 1st re6/24 pls. hot and humid here in the 90's
nm
I could use a hint for that first re6/24, please
Oh wait, no, found it
so you re6 on asking for a clue to the re6?
Well, they would have, but that is not the first re6/24
Apparently the light bulb went on for both of them about the person who acts as a member of a Brit ruling party
TH 4/5?
nvm
i assume the proper amount of outrage has been registered that po 4/8 cannot be past tense?
There is a certain amount of debate about that word here because it is a Brit derogatory term for homosexuals. I'm not sure the past tense was missed.
oh i was not aware of that usage. i was thinking purely of magicians making things disappear (or folks leaving the chog)
That's okay. I had no idea that fanny (US your rear end) is a word for female genitals in the UK. It makes you rethink that whole Fanny Be Tender With My Love song by the Bee Gees.
or fanny pack lol
Definitely fanny pack : D
Or the US term "swat your fanny"
Cringing at the thought of referring to a bum bag as a fanny pack!!!
cram it all in there liz! :P
:)
Cringing at the term "bum bag"
Love language in different countries. There's a cheese here in Aus which is called - don't faint - Coon Cheese. I kid you not.
called that in Minnesota, too!
I am not surprised. Some of the Australian terms freak me right out
I was amazed when I first saw that. In the UK that
that's really insulting.
Aussie Italians also refer to themselves as Wogs - I'd never use that word.
Sorry Liz, didn't mean to be insulting.
No - I don't mean you were insulting. I meant that the term Coon was really insulting in the UK.
Oh, okay. It is a pretty rough term in the US as well.
It was used in a similar way to the word Wogs - usually by racist ******
Fireworks - a much better grid than the last one. Mind you, 10 words just made me laugh.
congrats!
Thanks. Any clues needed?
i'd take a 7, either
er 7 - e + mice and rats (but singular)
pr 7 - pt word of the pr 5. A word meaning evidence
thanks!
yw
The Babble withdrawal at 10 words made me laugh. And truthfully, made me a little sad. This game is fun, but there is more to life.
I agree Molly. I love doing the grid - some are easier than others, some are just frustrating but I've certainly got enough going on in my life that I'm not bothered if it's a small grid. But I just if some people are housebound it might be more important.
True Liz. If people are housebound and computer word games are all they are entertained by, it must be disappointing.
I think that does apply to a number of babblers here.
Anyway, time to get on with my day - Just after 10 am here. Have a good day / evening. Back at flip or around then.
Agree again Liz. It does seem to apply to many players here.
looking for the lone E or the lone O, if anybody has any clues to lend
that picture hurts my eyes molly
lone o is or 4/5
people are disappointed by what disappoints them. no need to pile judgement on top of that
ty leslie :)
lone E is ep5/14
yw and the lone e is ep 5/14
hiya dan
got it! ty both :) nbt and nbs and 49 to go
hiya

Hey ruru. There was a pod of transient orcas in the harbour of Victoria today
oh wow.. I hope we get to see some
might be a bit early.. but you never know
no, this is a good time apparently. This is the second time they have come into the harbour which I don't ever remember happening before. Looks like you will be in luck this time
