lame word
just learned a new word - au5 - don't recall ever seeing it
*!*~*!* Warning: this grid requires creative thinking
indeed it does Nan!!
good night/morning, everyone :)
au5 is a plant hormone that causes the elongation of cells in shoots and is involved in regulating plant growth. But i started out cloning plants, so this word is well within things i already knew. :)
ugh, a baby babble. Good morning all!
good morning Sprite, hope you have a lovely day - I'm off to bed with 12 word to find tomorrow
sleep well, dear flosey, and pretty dreams.
phantom: funeral
fireflies. Short but sweet, took some thinking. To you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night. And for my bestie Rose I leave a *hug* in chog to find.

this grid wasn't as difficult as I anticipated!! feels good

Hiyas, kiddos. Yuck. Too many vowels. Dare I proceed?
and most words are not words i have heard of.
huh. the un4 bablet is a sloth :)
Fascinating.
hi, judi. I'm more than halfway. Challenging, but not impossible. the facial hair took me longer than it ought to have. It's amazing what sleep can do.
Ha. Just found the facial hair and passed halfway too.,
Full size candy bars for all the finishers today
:D
Thanks, Molly! That's an incentive, if ever :D
Hubby is "working from home" today. Sunny & 67 degrees. Wish I could do that.
I love that phrase. "Working from home". Yeah, yeah, we all know what that means. : P
Yeah. As soon as he's done sleeping, he'll get up. Eat breakfast, feed the dog, etc., etc.
no6 forms from 2nd no4
I love the sn5/18. People who ordinarily don't cuss use that word all the time, unaware of what they are really saying. : )
And, it's not really a word, but an anagram. Dammit, Babble doesn't play by the rules!
*fouled
it is not an anagram. It's an acronym.
That's what I meant to say. Thank you.
*** grammar shamed ***
Oh no! Now Judi will need to go into therapy because her grammar has been mocked. She could be ruined for life!
She might be on Oprah's next episode "Wounded By Grammar Shame". : D
or Dr. Phil
morning! crappy weather here...time for babble
firewords :)
Stuck on the last 2. RE7 and TA4/ (not the Uber).
Found the Ta4. Uhg.
I can't stand Oprah or Dr. Phil. But, if I had to choose, Dr. Phil, cause he still has a TV show.
Fireworks!
Happy Halloweeny to all who participate! Eat candy and enjoy being a kid again. Times have changed. Parents hover around kids now. I remember going out trick-or-treating by myself when I was about 8 or 9.
However, I do have one traumatic Halloween experience that is Dr. Phil worthy.
Parents really do hover. Kids have no independence.
some kids do, but not as many as ought to.
what was that judi
We lived in an apartment for a year while our new house was being built. There were probably 200 apartments in the complex. I was beyond excited that particular Hallows Eve, because I knew I would be getting an enormous amount of candy. So, I put my little costume on (can't even remember what it was), grabbed an old pillow case out of the rag bag and off I went. I collected about 10 lbs worth of candy. My biggest mistake was showing my haul to my mother.
So, I plunked by hefty pillow case next to my bed and went to sleep - exhausted from my quest to knock on every apartment door. Little did I know...
During the night, my parents - who I used to trust - entered my room and removed the pillow case and all of its contents! Theft!
(waiting)
then what?
I awoke next morning, thinking I'd have a nice chocolate snack before breakfast. I reached down for my pillow case and felt nothing but emptiness and cold air.
knows about reaching over to nothing but emptiness
I trudged to the kitchen where I found my mother and asked, "Did you take my Halloween candy?". "Yes", she replied. "That's too much candy for you."
Gobsmacked! Outraged! Betrayed!
I feel very sad....for both of you!!
"But that's mine!" I whined. "I want it back!"
"Nope. Here's what you can have. And don't eat any before breakfast."
She handed me a lunch bag that was half full (or half empty in my childish point of view) of candy.
Tears flowed. "Where's the rest of it? There was A LOT MORE!" I wailed.
Mom was entirely unsympathetic and unmoved by my tears. I was crushed. A few days later, while I was alone in the apartment, I searched high and low. I couln't find a single Smartie or Snickers. I later asked my mom what she did with the candy. "It's not here anymore, so just forget about it.". I never did find out what happened to MY candy. I don't know if she threw it out or gave it to my father to take to work. I was completely demoralized.
Anyway - time for lunch. See y'all tomorrow! *POOF*
(starts writing a Judi Go Fund me page to get candy by tomorrow)
Ill contribute to that Ru, does she know how to hang out a story!!!
Wow, you can make money for anything at Go Fund Me.
its good for bused children like Judi. If that isnt abuse I dont know what is. I'm only surprised she didnt grow up all bitter and twisted --or perhaps she did??!!!!
She's not here now so we can talk about her!!!
well it does account for her cynical nature ;D
oh my god, I LOVE these kids today!!!! One of the teachers assigned an extra credit assignment -- bring in sanitary supplies for a women's shelter, earn ten points. One of the boys in class was GROUSING about it, saying he would rather DIE than walk through school with such an item (!!!) A quiet teen, who I have really heard speak, sighed, looked up from his book, and dry as toast said "It really is not that hard. You buy a box, put it in a brown paper bag, label it 'definitely not tampons!' and bring it to school." and went back to his reading, whilst I split a gut laughing
I think he was stringing you a long trif
lololol
thought that maybe you would be too plugged up to find a pun....should have known you would have found one, after a brief period
just trying to pad up the chat with humor
or going with the flow so to speak
bloody hilarious
funny how these puns keep cycling here :D
and now we all our puns are coming at the same time
(trif takes it up another level) :D
No more of this menstrual punning. Period!
ah.. are you trying to cramp our fun?
I was going to give an ovulation to Trif for her last pun
But please, lets not have any ovaryacting
They are making tampons with tinsel instead of string,,, for the Christmas period..
(Just came in) LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!
Usually I'm fallopian all over myself to get these out
Why is it that the things women have to endure all start with men, menstruation, menopause,,
I never thought of it that way mummy.. very funny
it could be because you have to endure men in general
Men have only two faults, 1, everything they say and 2, everything they do!
The derivation of the terms arose during the middle ages as a type of code for women, to educate them about specific times when men would not be able to control their bodies. The modern word 'menstruation' was actually 'men's ruination', and 'menopause' was literally 'men - pause.' .......
Ok ch1212, didnt know that, but being past both of them am free of the hassle.
..... (waiting for the realization I was joking and then the resulting LOL!)
I don't know ch12.. it looked plausible to me
sorry, I was trying to be funny. Well, at least my husband gets my twisted sense of humor :)
well.. if anyone should get twisted humor it is certainly me
Well it sounded plausible to me too!!
There used to be a game where players had to decide if a word was real or not. I was pretty good at convincing the other players whenever I 'explained' the meaning of the fake word.
Margaret Atwood wrote in one of her books "menopause....a pause to reconsider men...." That always made me laugh
lol! Love Atwood's writing.
me too! One of my favorite of all time
(now wishing some other guys would join the chat)

Trick or Treat...
No trick or treat here. Its been pouring rain all day.
Hi
It is about to do that here. Where are you?
Houston
My sister lives in Sugar Land
I have 2 large bags of candy. Sigh, I think weight gain is in my future!
Oh, no!!!♡
Where are you?
In PA, north of Philly
They were just warning about a possible tornado in Missouri City (near Sugarland)
That front is just west of me. Went down to the river, and ended up with a tick on my back....
Oh, no again!!
The storm is moving fast. I'll keep my fingers crossed for your sister!
It feels really muggy, like it could get nasty.
Have you had a cold weather yet?
Bonnie is probably driving home from work right now. I will have to call her.
Positive wishes for her!
One night. It was 32. But it is 68 right now.
No watches or warnings..yet. But the barometer is falling fast.
This is a weird game today.
It is also really gloomy. Yes. Bizarre grid.
We are supposed to get our first cool weather this weekend. I'm ready after months of wet, muggy and hot!
I used to live in Mississippi. I remember it all too well. Yuck. I am from Illinois.
Off to feed pups. Have a good one
U ..2!
Going into luck mode. If anyone needs clues, Hollar.
Spoiler Alert: PUN CLUES f for this ridiculous grid. I am only cluing the most bizarre words. 1. "Oh", boy; Frenchh
Sorry. French water... 2. For
Ipad malfunction. Ahem. 2. Fo 6 will put you in a bad position... 3. Fo 4 7 the second gives us Happy Days...4. Ha 4 t
4.Ha 4 5 you are going to hate....5.I cannot think of a pun for this one. It is la 5 and la 6...Hawaiian feast with end consonant. Then plural.. 6. Re 7 sounds like a drug that makes one chill out... I apologize for the breaks in writing. Good luck!
Most of this grid is (believe it or not) pretty normal words, plus some words commonly seen in Babble.
talk about taking the fun out of finding words on your own.....turning off chat to join the lurkers...
Happy Halloween/Samhain! Anyone need any clues?
missing final word: sn5/18?
got it!
Penquis, I agree with you.
anyone here?
hi, hi!
hey dc, just the person I need!
Ok, this grid was both short and weird. Approx. 10+ points per word
I'm happy to help, if needed. BBS, going to go move laundry, just towels, should be quick
ok
sigh. my bathrobe takes forever to dry. another half hour and check again.
Someone said you play babble on a tablet?
i don't but others do. in browser. I heard tell of an app from Lickety, but that's all i know.
Do you know how to get the app from Lickety's?
email him, and . ask. his email is on the babble clues page
okay thanks
JenMo, I play on a tablet frequently. I just go to playbabble.com.
Penquis - It heartens me to see you've developed problem solving skills. Good for you!
