good morning all
Hi Sprite! I'm back and forth between Michael's TV show and Babble!
*hugs Kam* Hello dear one! Sounds good. How was your day?
Good! How was yours?
back for my last 55, been fun, but still have one 9 to find...have se 9
mine is just starting. Taking it easy today. Just walking Terra, making dinner and singing lesson.
Hi all and hugs
*hugs Liz* Good to see you. Did you have a good day? How is the weather?
Lovely to both.
yay :)
Not too hot. Lovely breeze by the ocean this morning.
Liz, I am reading the Judge Dee series and I am not happy with the quality of the scans. Am gonna pretty them up and redrop them in our folder, okay?
OK. Thanks
I’m now on the Nightwatcher series.
by Staub, right?
Yes
Enjoying them very much.

and once again I tried 'snew' as past tense of to snow
That's the (un)logic of the English language, Sprite!
absolutely. And the unlogic of my own mind on top of that :D
I always try snaw.
Snew
Time to go. Have a good day / evening. Hugs
it is a compulsive thing. Even while knowing that it will not take, I have to type it in. Just like oreo.
have a grand evening, Liz, and a peaceful night *hugs* to the both of you.
Perfectly logical, especially if it follows your native language
Have a great day/night, Liz!
I always try oreo. My phantom tonight is salad, salad, and more salad.
mine is sergeant
I tried that too, but the salad is making me laugh because I keep "seeing" it
lol :D a repetitive phantom. I know the very kind.
I don't usually have phantoms like that, so I've giggled a few times. Maybe it's time to eat more salad? hahaha
oh, nice job for today too: prettying up those Judge Dee scans. The school teacher in me loves that kind of job

lol Mercy... you are on a roll!
Do you have a little book club going online? I need to start reading again - my latest pair of glasses just aren't working for reading, need to go back and complain.
Liz and I are always exchanging books. You are more than welcome to join us. I can usually find the books people are looking for.
if you have an ereader, you can make the letters bigger... not sure if that would help?
I always increase font size online and on my Kindle. I always grab my Kindle on the way out the door - it used to be a book I'd grab. But I end up playing logic games instead of reading...
lol! Well, as long as you are having a good time, it does not matter. If you ever need ebooks, let me know.
I am pretty backed up with books I haven't read - and I want to get caught up with a favorite author - James Rollins.

I am having a giggle at both canvas dwelling and native american canvas dwelling being in the grid
WTG, Diz!
I think I have read a series by rollings... checking now
yep, Sigma Force
Modern camping gear isn't canvas these days...my last few have been light weight synthetics
true. But for the sake of clueing, I tend to use canvas dwelling :)
I'm so behind on Sigma! I love the characters! Subterranian (sp) was one of my fave books ever - the words just put all the colors right in my mind.
am pretty sure the native american dwelling has never been canvas either ;)
True - original Native dwellings were made of buffalo hide, but canvas came into use in about 1890
thanks for reminding me, I must make the sigma force series complete. Am up to book 10, but there are more.
You have those online???!!!
Please send link!
I can make a dropbox folder for you, and drop the series there
I would love that! Thank you!
will do :)

Hiya, Rose!
hiya sweetie! *hugs rose* Lovely to see you. I can probably help with the Ps. If you want help, that is.
I've been messing around with other stuff tonight, so still have 104 left...and I'm about ready to hit the sack.
i have been sorting out what i have already bought for 4 grandchildren and one niece and one nephew... lolll... lets just say grannyrose and aunty rose is gonna be very popular. i have been shopping all year and lost track of what i had bought...i think perhaps granny and aunty have rolled into one father christmas.
lol I always get distracted while babbling. I have calibre and newsleecher open right now
or rather mother christmas...
I haven't purchased a single gift yet...gotta get busy for the grandkids. We adults agreed to skip the gifts this year and just enjoy good company and good food.
lovely, honey. It is such a different world, yours and mine... here, Xmas is not celebrated with presents. In Aussie and US, it is a big thing though.
sprite, i am missing 1 p4, 2 p6 and 2 p7. going crossed-eyed here...

I think I'm going to head to bed - my eyes are not focusing, and I set my computer to dim the screen at 12:30AM, so I'm done for tonight.
i have the bcycle footrests
*bicycle*

and "ebola" is not in the dictionary because....???
Proper noun?
ebola is no in the dictionary????
...the Enable dictionary
Probably is a proper noun. Apparently it is the name of a river that the virus was discovered near.
ebola is not in the dictionary???
Hello. The sun is shining on this first below-freezing day
sorry, was having a lag and needed to refresh without knowing
Happily the house faces south
I hope you have lots of warm blankets near ruby!
Only 3 today
i'm all about the blankets lately....apparently sleeping under a weight of blankets is good for a person?
l've found that to be true, Trif; sometimes l nap with the laptop on my chest
There is a charming children's book called "the Five Dog Night" that I feel quite certain you would love! A new England woman worries for her neighbor in the cold, and he keeps saying "no, it's only a two dog night, or a three dog night" and she has no clue....I'm certain YOU know what he means though!
That must be where the rock group founds itss name, serendipity or something
im sure
wow - more than halfway. I am loathe to walk away - will just end up typing again what I saw on first pass
Weighted blankets are supposed to relieve stress. Not sure if that is also true for sleeping under a lot of blankets. It's possible.
its lovely, anyway. Maybe not for everyone, but lately I am loving it
The only problem is getting out of bed in themorning
gens
i have always struggled in that particular area, ruby....slug life
sorry
forgiven :)
Oh, I just read that weighted blankets should be 10% of your body weight + 2 pounds. So assuming 110 pounds, a thirteen pound blanket. You probably aren't sleeping under 13 pounds of blanket, but I'm sure the comfort factor is good for you. : D
haha l've begun sleeping 'til10 -- never before!
im more pleased with the assumption of 110 pounds....
Oh my, different worlds. I have been up for hours by 10.
I try to guess in a flattering way.
butyou have family! l just have very discreet dogs
I am 100% NOT a morning person. So cleverly, I picked teaching for a career. Fail.
When l still lived in Miami, my husbnd and l would get up at 6 or so in order to run before work
There would even be time to have breakfast in a coffee shop near the office
breakfast is so underrated. In my old life, I would meet with friends every tuesday for breakfast. It was SO NICE
l love breakfast -- hot cerealif there's time, eggs and susge if l'm particularly piggish
sausage*
thats the bell, gotta run
bye Trif
how is ebola not allowed?
Yesterday, l played Buena Vista Social Club for my friend and my feet took over and l actually danced, one of the main thingsl miss now that l'm so old!
I read that dancing reverses aging, ruby. Dance away!
Okay, eggs and sausage are not piggish.
jbp, according to a previous conversation, ebola is a proper noun.
l think it's too late, but it felt very good. Nathalie (my friend) comparedme to hermother who is Younger than l, but does, even less
<--loves Molly
Molly défends me, even when l'm called men (and worse)
hmmm, ok. but it isn't capitalized, so *I* think it counts,. ;-)
thanks BR
I know several women who have been through therapy for body image issues. I'm very sensitive to words like piggish and fat pants. Women tend to be depreciating when it comes to eating.
Properly spelled, Ebola is capitalized. It is the name of a river. The virus was discovered near that river and named after it.
ok, thanks molly
Molly
hi jbp!
l'm sorry if l offended. l have somany serious boddy-image issues, that weight neever crosseedmypersonal radar
(what are fat pants?)
tense
No offense Ruby. Fat pants are the way some women refer to comfortable pants. Sweats, yoga pants, etc. Anything that isn't skin tight and uncomfortable.
l've started buying large soft pants because my waist is too big for my correct size
sometimesl have to cut through the elastic at the back of the waist
ruby, I find pants by JJill with an elastic waist are great. The legs are smaller and the waist is bigger.
l'm writing that down, thank you, butl'll still by largeones
lf this grid had an r, i would pprobably have 6 or 700 WORDS
There is an r
HAHA
HAHA
JJill has some nice stuff. But they are pricey.
haha, l didn't see it
Yes they are but so worth it when you find something you really like.
l just tried to geet into jjil's website and they're not doing business in Europe any more
What does that even mean? They won't ship?
You could have them ship to your sister and have her send to you, if she is willing. Might not be worth all the trouble though.
They Don't even show their catalogue pages
I'm not at all familiar with European shipping and selling.
T>oo much unrest here? France is becoming part of the third world!
Is that still going on?
I don't watch the news right now. I'm off it until after Christmas.
l do all my shopping online as l Don't often leave the house
i heard the rioting was about more than just higher oil prices...is this true?
tens
l give up N>o, they're protesting everything, even in Annecy
Burned cars, broken store windows.
i heard it started with the higher oil prices, then added immigration, and also includes the Paris Accords...
Ask tRump and he'll tell you they are chanting "We want Trump". What a fool he is.
You don't neod pants for the victory dance because I.R.'s better than We6! I.R. Babboon bgs star of cartoon! I am We6!
and the high cost of living, taxes, but although the left AND the right had issues, the Young people used it as an excuse for gratuitous violence
Les Miserables : D
Does France have pay inequity like in the US? i was under the impression that not.
seain, please explain….
the pay inequity? Declining real wages for workers with increasing pay for executives.
of course it does, seain
I'm pretty sure there's no place on earth that doesn't have pay inequity
no, no of course about it. the US has much, much higher executive pay than anywhere else.
My health care worker for whom l pay 33 euros an hour to the agency, only gets 7.50!
ack! That's criminal.
the gap between executives and female workers is even larger.
and he won't work "black" because he's afraid of being deported
sigh.
hello all.. nbt
well done, MLF
one of my helpers just arrived, see you later
hi dc ty
l can't even reach half, but it's been fun
The discrepancy Ruby mentioned is common. Temp agencies will charge a customer 25 dollars an hour and pay the temp 14. The mark up between billable hours and actual paid hours is usually 40 - 50 %

I thought that was the scarecrow man. Whitey's name has a U in it.
does it?
damn.. it does
sorrry
not knowing mobsters is a GOOD thing, ruru!
tell me about it.. he sounded like a very dangerous human being
truly hideous. It was a strange thing, when he died. He was a HORRIBLE person, but - to be beaten to death at age 80+? Not much honor in that, for whoever did it.
I don't know .. the sooner people like that are eliminated the better to me
Good morning
hi ori
we're talking about dead mobsters
You never know what you're going to see in the chog :D
two more to list
Sam Giancana...just adding to the conversation.
I don't know much about him.. he was a NY mobster no?
Chicago. He and JFK had the same mistress.
Is he the one that got JFK the Chicago votes with ballot stuffing?
wow
i'll have to read up on him..
There are allegations to that effect Bea.
that Kennedy was sure a player
All those conspiracy theories...
And it is funny how many of those people he "played" with are no longer among the living.
yes.. that's very true
If you follow the whole Jack and Bobby trail, many people died within a short amount of time, including the two of them.

save our forests and reduce garbage at the same time, judi -- send e-cards
Pffth. If it were up to me, we would send NO cards.
<--not sending out xmas cards
I switched to e-cards a few years ago -- and phone calls to our closest friends
My husband is the prince of obligation. I am the queen of f*ck it all.
I feel bad that I don't if I get some but oh well
judi do you send out a lot of them?
www.jacquielawson.com is a good website for cards - costs around $15 per year, has a good selection and keeps track of who you have sent cards to and whether they have been received.
Pect
Oops sorry
hi Odessa not a word
I buy cards at the dollar store now. Postage far exceeds the cost of the cards.
Yeah, I try zillions of non words it seems.
we all do that at times:)
It’s still amazing how often my typos are true words, though
I don't care who we receive cards from. Just part of my general Scroogy-ness.
lol judi I care who we get cards from
Odessa and their are some strange words in these grids
I have noticed that we get less cards every year. We send out about 40-45 per year. Oy.
Ain’t that the truth, ML
judi seriously? that many?
Odessa yep:)
Yep.
It sucks being so popular. *snort*
45 cards!! You are singlehandedly keeping the post up and running, Judi.
Feels like it. We have to seriously whittle it down.
judi that's the reason we don't send out any hard to find boxes of the right amount of cards either the boxes have too many or not enough. wwe actually sent out some one year and finished a box of cards from the year before. (hubby's idea not mine)I was so disgusted with them for want to do that)
judi I care that's the problem if it were me I would send specific xmas cards to different people and not from a box of xmas cards
Plus I'm in charge of sending them out at work, so it all gets old real fast.
so much Christmas cheer, Judi!
judi ugghh
<---Wants a drunken Christmas card from Mr. and Mrs. Judi
Molly lol
we have a cat so we don't even do a tree though we have a fiber optics tree that I would love to put up every year
e-mail me your address, Molly. I'll even try to spill a little tequila on it for you.
molly did your xmas party have any kringle boxes this year?
A Tequila Scented Christmas Card. What a luck girl I am.
ink and tequila eww
bbl -- need to have a rest
lol, MLF> We have three cats. Fortunately, they are not tempted to mess with the tree. We put some non-breakable ornaments on the bottom branches to keep them amused by some newness.
lucky you judi our cat wanted to chew o the tree
And don't get me started about holiday work parties...
judi booorrriinnnng right?
Oh and wouldn't I mind helping set that up (physically)? Hell to the no.
I don't work for the same company as I did that year. However, I still have the Santa box that Kringle came in. I get it out every year. https://tinyurl.com/y9pch9tm
not unless its extra pay and you choose the decorations to be put up so probably not right judi?
that is so cool molly that you have the box they are beautiful. congrats on newer job:)
I hate holiday work parties. Ours is this Thursday and the only thing good about it is that it creates a half day at work.
how lovely:/
One word: Catering.
judi same place every year judi?
Not sure where we're having it. It was in the Methodist Church banquet hall (read former gym/stage).
For a few years, we just got gift cards. I was a huge fan. Must be a party is a cheaper option.
yeah apparently they are a little lacking in money . too bad...
Trust me, they are not.
I'm a proponent of no holiday party and larger holiday bonuses. You cannot convince owners of that however. They like to strut their stuff at the holidays.
The last time they had it at a local "fraternal club". Place is gross.
lol judi
yeah a bonus would be better
Our company usd to give great holiday parties -- salsa bands and dancing
finally made it to 200 words.. only 221 to go:)
ruby htat sounds like fun!
I'm down to 181. Hitting the wall.
Oh yes, I can see Ruby in her slit skirt and cute shoes, whooping it up on the dance floor
judi I have slowed way down
They were great parties but we couyldn't call tham Christmas parties because we had many Jehoah's Witnesses working for th company
I'm so tired of "political correctness". I heard yesterday that kids can't sing the Rudolph song anymore because it is about bullying. What a crock.
Yes. It's gotten ridiculous.
Poor Rudolph, he was "nose shamed". And he didn't even have Dr. Phil to turn to.
thi was more than 20 years ago and we didn't want to leave anywbody out and the Latin women were good dancers
I thought the whole deal with Jehovah Witnesses was that they don't celebrate anything. So why would they go to a party?
Rogue JWs.
What about multi-cultural inclusion????
Clawed my way down to 164. Calling it quits for today. See y'all tomorrow. *POOF*
Ruby, did you see the shooting in Strasbourg??
I thought the big question was if the kiss shared by mommy and santa claus was consensual?

Ruru, you can’t be sad with that profile picture. Or maybe I can’t be sad now that I’m seeing it
OK - so this is closest I've come to ever making any political comment here but if you google "idiot" and then go to images - well, it made me laugh!
