well, that conversation is now also consigned to the history books *heehee*
This is one of those grids where you feel quite proud of a five letter word.
seriously. not seeming at all friendly so far
I do, in fact, feel quite proudof my one, lonely, five letter word so far

It isn’t in the cards dc
phantom tachycardia
no really, i love a good phantom!
oops, ruru :)
oh now rain that's fancy indeed
oooh, good one, rainqui
Well, atcha doesn't work. At least Enable has some standards.
anyone else try "atari" every time it's in the grid even though you know perfectly well it would be a proper noun?
yeah, the "y" is in the wrong spot in the grid
ca6

Phanton: cataract
at5
it's sad when the phantoms are so much better than the real words
ah thank you, did my proper noun push you there or unrelated find?
nah, i saw it was a solo, and the black stick stuff attracted me
Bear
Haes
i will try, sue, but it's a heavy burden
Sorry

Hi all and thanks, Lickety
okay, i'm off to bed. thanks, lickety.
Probably going to lose power. Wind gusts up to 55 mph here.
happy babbling yall!
may you be safe and warm, origami. *poof*
Thanks seain.
hi, all.
I spy an ancient game console in the grid (;
well, to paraphrase an old spinoff title... i'm going to say... eighty is enough
yes melon i always try to make it go even tho i know it is proper
Wow - I remember that show.
Hang in origami! I'm an hour south of you, looks like we're in for another good storm - and we just got a tree that fell last week removed off our house today.
A favorite MAD Magazine expression is in the grid and, yes, itis a word!
Yikes Kamanjah! My neighbor has an old, wobbly oak that looms over my house. I worry about it in wet, windy weather.
Hope it hangs on! Next door had one go down, and about 36 hours later, one of ours did. At least hers didn't hit her house, but it buried a trailer in the mud
It seems like the wind has died down a bit. Fingers crossed.
ca6/24, please?
auto + first part of precious jewel
thanks

morning all
name that proper noun: muppet grouch
don't go spritey. brb.
am right here
there... glass full, fan on, and don is putting the A/C back on. (don't ask why he turned it off. I DON'T KNOW ) {{{{sprite}}}}}} still warm here. but i now have a lot less here... not a buzz cut, but close. it feels delightfully light and airy.
ahem *** hair*****
*hugs rose* Hello my dear friend, wish I could send you some of our cold, lol
light and hairy?
wish you could too..how are you sweetie? and how is Rob?
haha sprite! {{{rose}}} {{{sprite}}}
{{{{{kam}}}}}} honey, lovely to see you too.
*hugs Kam* Hello dear one, how is the storm going? And the roof guy, what did he say and do?
tree is off roof! Chimney pipe is heavily duct taped. Once the tree was gone, Michael saw damaged shingles - praying for no leaks.
praying for no leaks too. glad the extra woodwork has been removed. poor chimney..
rose, we are okay, but not great. Rob is going through a very rough patch at work, this week he has meetings with various people 3 days in a row. Monday social company nurse, yesterday the company doctor and today his rotten manager. He is asking for another manager to help him through his return to work. Doc and nurse both were in agreement this is the best way to go.
We have no roof repair person yet, waiting to hear from insurance - they farm it out to an independent adjuster, so she has to send in her report, and I asked her for a copy. The guy at the company seems like a paper pusher only
praying for no leaks as well. Glad the tree is off, you must be breathing a little easier now.
sorry to hear Rob is going thru a rough time at work, hope the folks on his side help him get it fixed the right way
I am just tired, running out of energy and needing to push on on willpower alone. Which I can do.
lol, Rob said to the company doctor he was looking into another form of therapy. Doc said: "If you ask me, you do not need therapy. You need another manager."
Hang in and stay tough! You have so much on your plate right now
sprite, you are NOT alone. He is with yu, He will not give you anything you cannot bear or do, sweetheart. lean on Him.
yes we do, Kam, but the end is in sight and then things will calm down pretty abruptly. Two more weeks :)
and please tell me Rob has another person going with him to see that manager.
ugh true, rose... only... well... when He is measuring how broad my shoulders are for the cross He gives me to carry... I really wouldn't mind if He would be a little less exact!
I hope you get settled in to your trailer easily so you can take a well deserved break.
*small chuckle* i hear you honey.
nope, just him and the manager. We did a lot of preparing for this meeting. Which is happening in 10 mins, so if you could spare a quick prayer...
thanks Kam :) Am sure we will.
Just put in a request for all to go smoothly for Rob.
basically, Rob is gonna listen to her, not talk much, and then tell her he wants another manager to take over. And if she asks why, which she will, he will tell her she lost his trust.
thanks, darlings, you are the best
the Big Guy is getting read to bless you and Rob in a major way... and Kam, He tells me the same for you and Michael...so sit back and enjoy the ride my darlings...
btw rose, yes, I should still have internet in the trailer. Tomorrow I should receive a modem that must give us 4G wifi wherever.
wow rose... that is good news. Thank you darling.
wow!! very nice...
Hope so, Rose. Thanks for putting in the good words...we've had a run of, let's say...insurance claims...lately. It can stop now.
gonna empty out my room today. Will be a large stride in the right direction when that is done.
I get my car back tomorrow!!!!! I hope I can't tell it was ever smashed. Over $13,000 USD to fix, wow
you sure have, Kam, poor darling. Time for the good times to arrive.
YES!!!
omg Kam! Lol... our 'new' second hand car does not even cost that straight from the garage!
Michael bought it for me for my birthday 2017 - my 1996 Honda died.
fixing is always crazy expensive. I hope the insurance covers it all
Has less than 12,000 miles on it, poor thing
They said they would - the lady who smashed into me has a commercial policy, and they can't *not* pay for the damage she caused
awesome. Fingers crossed the financial part will go smoothly.
They contracted with the shop, I pick up the car, drop off the rental, and then we go hunt for a new chimney pipe...and grocery shopping with Michael...ugh...he's a "store wanderer"
I do not like stores. Grocery stores least of all. Fastest way through for me.
good news re the car kam. and lolll at Michael wandering off in the store.
Well, the tree guys were here at 7:20 this morning...I have to get sleep. Tomorrow's adventures will be tiring. I hope Rob's meeting is going well.
nowadays, we can scan our own groceries. I write out my list in the order of the store, scan while I go, put it all straight in my bags, and then pay at the selfservice checkout. Much much better.
sweetest of dreams dear kam. xoxox
sleep well, Kam, and sweet dreams. *hugs***
what a brilliant way to shop, sprite.
Thanks! **Hugs!**
yes it is not good for the personnel, of course, but so much better for the customers.
so... no takers for my NTPN game? "name that proper noun: muppet grouch"
Wow! Love that. We do have self-checkout registers here, but not in-store scanning. I'm sure it's coming soon. I would love it!
yes, i imagine that there would be fewer people employed.
that is the downside. Can't be stopped though. Our society will have to find other ways to manage employment, income and many other things in the near future.
*pops in* hi sprite, rose, Kam!
hiya dfm! *hug* How are you doing today?
g'day dfmc
doing fine :o) {{{sprite}}}
that is good to hear
good for you dfm
we are trying to sell some of our stuff, it is a drag, but it does bring in a little money so I will keep at it a little longer. If all goes as planned, today a lady will come and pick up one of our ceiling fans. Tomorrow somebody else should come for the other ceiling fan. And on Sunday, my antique vanity mirror should go.
of course, we will not know if they will actually show up...
until they do, that is
i hope they do honey. it would be nice to have that little extra.
sure would. Fingers crossed :)
oh poo, I need to get groceries and cook today too.
some ovendish it will be.
good idea honey.
fireflies. Final word was ye5/20. I mean, really. Crazy spelling.
darling, a big *hug* and thanks for being there, and for your prayers. Sleep well. dmf, have a lovely day. *hugs*
you too sprite! hope it all goes as planned and that you make yourself a nice meal!
WTG SPRITE !!! be kind to yourself today, okay? xoxox

I have two ta 4/5s, but neither from that T....
this is an odd word
Did you get it, matty?
Good morning, all. I have to ask my British friends if the following term is commonly used in the UK. It's a fragment from a statement by Boris Johnson: "parliamentary plottery and jiggerypokery".
This followed the Brexit vote yesterday.
jiggerypokery .... think flim-flam ... think twisting things around into unnatural positions to make them work
And the proper noun is "Oscar".
.... plottery ... I haven't heard ... but I can guess ... political manipulations in the background and out of sight ... with a hint of backstabbing
Jiggery-pokery is an acceptable term in UK.
hello friends
Well, I laughed out loud when I read it, dose. "jiggerypokery" is just a brilliant word.
Morning, trif.
I love the word too, judi.
Boris Johnson does have a way with words.
"jiggerypokery" is a FANTASTIC word!
It would get lots of babble points if enable accepted it.
It does seem to be wanting a hyphen.
... Enable won't accept it so it most likely does take a hyphen ... but at a quick count it would be worth 300 points if it was taken ... I seem to remember whole grids that didn't have 300 points in then
Ooh. That would be a holy grail word.
stats for the third column h, pls

Your honour, the accused's defense amounts to nothing more than unbelievable jiggerypokery.
