You had every right to complain about his drinking. And yes, it is a relief to be over the walking on eggshells thing. That is all part of the mess of loving an alcoholic.
i knew it'd happen though. eventually...but as much as i knew itd happen it was still...a punch in the stomach .. his mom who i was so close with.. his mom who took ASL classes for me, she paid a lot of money to learn ASL, has discarded me like trash.. andmy family dont talk to me..

I'm sorry to hear that his Mom is no longer close to you. It would seem that you two could help each other get beyond this.
He was always so strong for you. I can see why it has been hard to deal without that in your life.
3 weeks of changing his diaper, 3 weeks of feeding him, wiping him, giving him meds...watching him forget who i was.. etc.. idk what was worse.. waiting for it to happen or it actually happening.. i felt so guilty because while waiting iw as like i kinda wish hed do it already so the waiting could stop..
No guilt, you knew it was time for him to go.
then i had to sign all these papers like consent to burn him...lol...now that wasn't fun.
It sounds like you are at a point where you need to let go of all this and move on. I hope you can do that, in your own time.
