I meant on Thanksgiving. but yesterday I talked to her and she said she could barely walk. She has osteoporosis in her back really bad.

She has a quad cane and a rollator that my dad used. I think she uses the cane when she goes out to the mailbox and stuff.
My mom has been using her walker in the house more lately. Her knees have been hurting.

I have put most of the wreaths and candles on the windows. sadly our new windows in the garage are painted shut. hopefully mr. homie can get them open.
I need to do some decorating too. But first, I need to declutter from my decluttering binge.
Wow, it's way too early for Christmas decorating for me. I would be sick of it by the second week in December
now I have to wait until 5 to plug in the candles. had to move a lot of stuff out from in front of the bay window in my sewing room, so it's a mess right now.
We always put our tree up the first weekend of December.

will wait until it dries out a little outside before we get our tree. have a fake tree for the living room for Hokie ornaments and a little tiny fake tree I take camping with us with ornaments from our travels. need to find a place for it since we're not going anywhere.
I've never understood the decorating tradition of a wreath and candle at every window.
yeah, bea, once you plug them in they turn on at that same time every day and then shut off after several hours.
Ours is always a real tree.
I don't know how it started, but I think it looks nice.

yeah, I had a big fake one for a while but then several years ago we started going to a tree farm in NC mountains on the way home from my parents' after Thanksgiving. Will have to just go to a lot here this year.

I have two designated visitors ( daughters) because I am now alone , but I will miss the other daughter as we can't change out for now.

I heard those numbers and my heart sank. I have a daughter and two granddaughters in the "medical world" and two have already been re-deployed several times.
I know you have the same situation going on in your immediate family.
other than my husband going to work, we've pretty much been isolated since this all began. frustrating to hear folks saying they refuse to follow restrictions during the holidays. (and i have a daughter and son in law who are front line medical workers, but in vermont - i understand how scary it is)
i'm tired of it all, too, but not so tired as to put myself and others at risk
my father in law passed away last week, in victoria - so here we stayed. my mother in law, the same day, was transferred to a long term care facility. and a good friend is with her husband, who is dying of kidney cancer. this year has been crap.
We were very careful when Wally was going through his journey, and although the strict measures were in place in March, April, etc. the family visiting was still allowed. I am quite willing to just stay IN~
the hospital and care center were very strict about visiting, even at end of life - by the time we would have gotten there, well, you know
Oh welkie, that is so sad. ( I have lots of family in Victoria and they are staying home, just quick trips by one in the family going for groceries.
yeah, when my dad died in Aug. only one person at a time was allowed in his room. it was so far from parking, my brother had to wheel my mom to the room and then go back and wait in the car for her to say she was ready to leave. I think when they put him under hospice they said he could have like 5 in the room.
hard to stay positive when folks around me are suffering, but like the queen song, 'the show must go on'
