we had a pre-lit tree for a while but it is annoying when one strand goes out and you can't fix it.
I would love to have a real tree every year. If someone would cut it down, haul it in the house, put it in the stand, put the lights on it and vacuum up the needles.
This tree is new, but if strands start going out I will just slam another string on it.
I made that deal with Mr. Bea when we married. Real tree, you help maintain.

our garden center has a great selection, and they trim it, put it in a net, put the stand on, and strap it to the car. I do have to haul it in and out, and we do hire miss2bit as a needle sweeper

mrs2bit likes to wrangle the lights, and we have sentimental ornaments from (nearly) all our travels together, which makes decorating nostalgic and fun
All of our ornaments are sentimental. Some given by friends, some from my famiy's original 60's Christmas trees, some made by my kids.
yeah, I put 10 strands of lights on and garland and then do all the decorating. wouldn't mind some help hanging the ornaments. and on the main tree there is no theme, they are all homemade or gifts, etc.
Speaking of 60's Christmas trees, who remembers the bubble lights?
but my hokie tree is a prelit fake tree, all hokie ornaments. and I have a 3' prelit fake tree that I put on the camper if we're camping over Xmas, and it has all our travel ornaments.
I miss popcorn and cranberry garlands on the tree, but I don't have the patience to string them anymore.
I gave my girls all of their special ornaments when they started having a family. Mine is decorated with Santa ornaments I hawe collected over the years.
We did a lot of red, white and green paper chains.
My grandma had an aluminum tree with the spinning disc light. I spent hours on the floor under that tree watching the colors change.

So, Larry and I are in isolation because he was helping the family across the street. One of their teens tested positive. They are all out and about running around mask free like nothing has happeend.
I have seen replica bubble lights but don't remember my parents ever having them.
That is why we are in the situation we are in.

Thank God for scent-cicles. They really add the fresh smell to a fake tree.
