I am, of course, merely sticking around to watch y'all struggle with the Ks. Cuz on any other day, they'd really be stumping me....
Quit looking over my shoulder, I'm havin a hard enough time....
Well, you're missing that REALLY OBVIOUS ONE. Hint: starts with K
Great hint !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There's also that P word you haven't found. 4 or 5 letters.
Wow - You're my best friend in the whole wide world !
Awwwww. You know what? I'll sell you that Florida land for just the 10% down!
Awwwwww - thanks but no.
Pity. Guess I won't tell you about that missing D then....
What kind of freepy friend are you ?
Point taken. You're missing a D. Also a bonus - you're missing an A word that you actually know..

Same old, same old - every day is same as the last these days!
still, better than a bad day
things seem to be getting better here - I hope there as well, Matty
Oh, certainly - but still WFH - outdoor hospitality is open but indoor doesn't open until 17 May...and the UK weather isn't always conducive to outdoor drinking and dining ;)
I've had one vaccination - awaiting the second in early June (because we leave 12 weeks between shots here)
Case and death rates are down....for the moment
So yeah, things ARE looking up - but I still feel like I'm living in Groundhog Day
you and me both Matty
going to 1st Base ball game in over a year on Sunday - Red Sox vs Rangers. Cant wait1
Ooooh - fun! Have a hotdog and a beer for me
maybe more than one!
are fans allowed yet at Premier League games there Matty?
Thanks, Lickety
I catch a game now and then on Tv - seems to be crowd noise, but no crowd
I feel like I haven't seen that e7 before...whatevs!
yeah - odd word. looks like a compound, but not
Seems like it should start with an "i" instead, too.
*honk*honk* The goose is here again.

My grandmothers best friend was the gr 7. Ty
Her official name was mrs. Gr***. My grandmother called her this.

it's apparently good for our brains to change things up intentionnally once in a while, take us out of our habits, our ruts...
bottom row gray!
maybe I'll try that tomorrow
go hk go !
still haven't caught ru. very very very slow.
poor with the As, as usual... sigh...
And now for your Friday laugh. Amazon is selling a "social distance zapper". It is a telescoping want that will zap someone with a 4.5-volt charge if they get closer than six feet. Zzzzzzzt!
same. still need 3 A's on top and 2 on bottom
sounds like a good way to promote pedestrian rage....hello all....
wowza
hey pen
gm pen
sounds like a good way to get in trouble...lol
Sounds like a news story about a zapper fight in Walmart waiting to happen.
Tudor not allowed I see.
it's just 1 more ridiculous item...
I have tried it twice in case the style of house is not proper noun
If someone zapped me with that zapper I would wrap it around their head rather hard.
way to go zooz !
and you would get your few minutes of fame, zooz... ;o)
I'm thinking that all the COVID nazis will love those things.
hah.. I had to go look at it.. they call it a "zapper" but it does not zap. It's like an old style car antenna with a grip on it..
so, not like a bug zapper? disappointing
I know right..lol maybe I just didn't search long enough though.

better rennet this grid and get moving nan
you have to provolone it nan
49 to go here.

no. the cheese is most notably not accepted
good - don't see it anyway but found a couple more of the k's
still missing 5 Ks. 44 to go. later all
missing one c
and have no 7's yet
you all are so sharp
do you have all the c's carla?
I'm missing 2 c's. Do I need to find those last 2 to get a 7?
there are no 7 letter c words
there are 2 - 6 letter c words
I know that. I know what the 7's start with, but still missing 2 of them

french film festival city - change last letter

clue for the gr 7 please?
thanks
I think carla clued it as a dog treat/chew stick? the gr
have never had a dog - don't know anything about dog treats
starts w/a color
have added every two letter combos possible to the colour - nada
work up the grid, left, right, left, right, right, left
hello
that doesn't make any sense if it begins with the five letter colour
agreed cyber
there are 3 Es
doe it begin with all 5 letters of the colour or just part of it?
all
got it
the only combo I didn't add. Misspelled more like the colour
which n is it?
ty - tough to clue when it is not really a word
mlf think of a word that means "like the colour gr***" then spell it a dfferent way
i thought i had to spell it out?
think of it as meaning like the specific colour, but misspelled at the end
your little finger is your pi 5 or spelled differently your pi 6 ----- apply the same principle to the verdant colour
did you get it mlf?
nope
did you look at my lat two clues?
yes
I can't think of any other way to clue it -- rhymes with your little finger
ending sounds the same as what you use to open a lock
*without the k
okay duhh
finally

i have 3 e words to find and heh top corner i to get nbt

is the ro 6 a fish also?
let me look at the definition
It uses a double consonant.
ah no...it's an organophosphate used in insecticides
if you have to look it up, it's not a fish
like we all know that one
:)
there's many words I know, but have no idea what the definition is...so wanted to double check
a clue please?
I know there's been some canadian words that have shown up from time to time that I had no idea o
man's name + abbreviation of a woman's name?
It uses a double consonant.
ty mool
slow board this one
slow board and slow internet connection for me

4x4, 6x5, 4x6 and 1x7
RE 6 please, i know it is probably a fish but cant see it

ok, I only have one
it is after the smelly one
my second re6 is not a fish...but still have one r to go
that's not a fish
it's a verb
ah, to not shut a window again
1 R left here now

not the best situation, no
AA PP KKK O PP R DD A
AAA p N T KKK P R U G
hmm
found an a
guess my last O?

no panko
thought for sure I found that bottom A but "'agreed' does not exist in the puzzle"
also phantom knack all day
went to list at 11 left. still 3 6's left. :(
looked them up - one was a regular, everyday word. hard eyeroll.
I'm surprised those eyes haven't rolled right out of the sockets and down the street with all the hard rolling they do.
clues or stats for the 7s?
En7. Go in + not off
thanks, Une!
Yw!!!
how about the lone first column E?
Ep5. Ep + glorifying song or poem
thanks again! first column done!

po6 please
nm
I will take a clue, peri
nvm
what are the stats forthe other twon7s besides the en7?
eieios. stats for 7's are en7/28, gr7/36, and pr7/32
ahhhhh, nothing like settling down to a babble grid at the end of a long week
anybody else try NaCl? lol
Why would that work?
it wouldn't
i knew it wouldn't, but, it kinda just feels like a word cause i've seen it so often, you know?
as opposed to panko, which is among the culinary terms that i guess are too new to english to be included
I wanted tinpan to be a compound word :-)
tinpan alley, is that a thing
it should be
yes, it just isn't all one word, it's tin pan alley
ruh-roh, done with 4s and 11 words to go
oh and if anyone could use an amusing anecdote, i have a good one today
I never say no to an amusing anecdote
me either!
so, i had posted an assignment for students on tuesday, that was a google doc. they each get their own copy, and i can see all the work at any time. i could see that they were not getting it, so i decided to spend today going over it. at the beginning of class, i gave them time to find the assignment and asked if they had found it, were ready to start, etc.
well, we also have this software that allows the teacher to see what the kids are actually doing on their chromebooks. more than halfway through class, i see some kids on games, and i'm like, why are you playing games?
and this one kid says he couldn't find the document
like... you have to raise your hand and tell me that at the beginning before you miss everything... i said, "so did you think, well, i guess i don't have to do it, since i can't find it!"
how old are your dtudents, hursh?
6th grade
old enough to know you should raise your hand if you have a problem
i have high schoolers who do the same....
so then that class wraps up and i go to lunch and i find this angry, ranting email from the kid about how i hid the document and just generally being rude... so over the top that it crossed into hilarious. he said i could email his parents and tell them he was in trouble but they would see what he wrote and i would be the one in trouble
hahahaha wow
so i replied to him, cc'ing his parents, telling him that i'm new to google classroom and trying my best, and where the assignment was posted, and how i would have been happy to help him find it at the beginning of class if he had raised his hand
i did a long term sub job and had a kid who cheated on a test grade, got caught and nearly failed the term. just found out today he did it again with his teacher back these kids think we arestupid..
so then later i get an email from his parents, who unsurprisingly were NOT sympathetic to their son's point of view, about how they are so sorry, they are shocked by his email, etc, and they made him apologize as well.
good! some parents are just as culpable as their kids these days. at least you gottheir support.
yeah... and i am the long term sub, by the way, eieios
their regular teacher is on maternity leave now
that is why i was there. was supposed to be there 9 weeks, ended up being 13.
did another long term before the holidays for about 8
any clues for the pr7?
the crazy thing is that they don't pay any more for a long term job. same daily rate as a one-day job, but it's sooo much more work
oh yes, eieios! a pr7 wrote me an angry, rude email today!
here we get $40 more a day for long term, sowell worth it.
sorry, gr7
gr7 is a novice, or, in modern times, a brand of treats for cats and dogs
hmmm....
or perhaps you could call kermit a gr7
not easy
gotnit. thanks!
hello friends
hey trif
cheers
scroll down for an amusing anecdote
anyone have pe6/24? it's not petard, sadly
hahahaha - that IS a good one! my day was not so amusing. A student who BEGS me for candy every single day, got so mad when I said no to candy today that she tore the name labels off all the plants in my room. The kids had made up names for the plants, and each then made a label. She got a HARD lesson in "fool around and find out"
I have that pe6 hurshy.
lets see....think famous barbra streisand song, or gossipy celeb magazine in the US
doh!
one of those normal words with a not so normal letter combo
yup
my favorite word of the day is up6/39
hmmmm do not have as yet
now i do. fun word!
hang on4 - putting maths hat on - so 39/3 = 13 and up = 4 , so a 4letter word with value of 9....mmmm. Bit much early in the morning
down to ne6 - anybody?
ne 6 - desex a dog for example
Got it...though though upknee as in Mother Brown would have been better
thanks Liz too
yw

Thanks, you too
Re6/21 please.....already have "accomplished again"

well you wouldn't be closing it
Thanks!!!
Now just have one pe5 to go....

Yes
boys name
2 pasta
one related to criminal punishmjent
And the prison word and the pasta and the boy's name
change pasta end vowel
Got it! Fw! Thanks!
