Une, we met a Tennesee father and his 2 sons yesterday that are in town for a wedding which happened yesterday. The one boy was marrying a Buffalo girl.
What a Southern drawl. Wow. It was great to hear.
Hee hee
A wealthy family donated their almost 700-acre farm which includes a mansion, other homes, and many barns to New York State. The mansion is rented for weddings and other events. There are hiking trails, woods, ponds, 3 dog parks, greenhouses, etc.
Only heathens do6 pages in a book
I am a heathen
my books only, obviously
I love books and I consider it desecration to do6 pages. Everyone has their own way of doing things.
Debbie downer
I love books and I think it's weird that people don't love them physically, nothing better than a good book with dogears and notes scribbled in the margins :)
oops, penalty box for me!
Or highlight/underline sections. I do this with books I re-read.
I will go with you, mael. Mangiamo!
me too! let's be book lovers together :)
Let's!
my husband is like you, molly, but he's taken that to the extreme and now only reads ebooks so he doesn't have to sully them
I, meanwhile, have a huge library and love the smell and feel and weight of books. It's not the same!
Me too. I enjoy admiring my library and adding to it.
I agree. Ebooks are not for me. I like real books.
I do both. I am currently surrounded by real books but the ereader is handy for commuting (when that becomes a thing again) and also for books I just want to read rather than collect - it's also instant so can deal with my impatience
Hi Matty

if not, they have heard of Richard III
everyones hitting it out of the park today!
or was that saying just in a Wayne & Schuster skit
,,, who remembers Richard III and his final needs? And more importantly, who besides 1950
besides 1950''s watchers of CBC television or the EdSullivan Show remember Wayne and Shuster?
I watched Ed Sullivan and I have no clue about Wayne and Schuster.
... thier's is one of the great interpretations of HAmlet
Are you too young to remember Wayne and Shuster before they became famous in the states -- they were on Canadian radio and TV long before Ed Sullivan "discovered" them
you are in Toronto, Dose?

Well, I was a kid and I was watching mainly for the musical guests and Topo Gigio
... WHitby ... an hour east of Toironto on the commuter train
I was at the Olympics games there in 76 - rode down the hotel elevator with Mick jagger - door opened and he walked in
wow
8:00 AM - he was in a bathrobe, so long night or early morning
... My wife's claim to fame is getting onto the Beatle's floor at the King Edward hotel in 1964 and seeing John and Ringo talking to security at the door before some guard turned around and chased her and her friend back to the elevator
Right place - right time
That is right up there with my friend, who opened her hotel door in her underwear (thinking she heard her husband trying to get in) and Don Henley was walking down the hall. Her claim to fame is that Don Henley saw her in her underwear.
... pays to have a friend whose grandmother had enough money to rent an apartment in the hotel so they had an access to the private elevator
