With words like those st7 I am not agreeing that this is an "easy" grid. But then I rarely think they are easy.

9:35 am

No such word in real life as the st 7!

9:39 am

good morning everyone

9:41 am

Oh i just looked up the meaning. Very interestinbg. Guess it is indeed a word.

11:16 am

hey pen and ori

11:17 am

Howdy, hokie.

11:17 am

hey, carla...

11:18 am

Some people go back to basics. Origami is back to Bullwinkle.

11:18 am

was just at spelling bee and thought I'd check back in here. just got to genius but last few days have been really rough. looks like I missed some easy ones yesterday but there are some I am surprised he included.

11:19 am

i got to genius two days ago....didn't play yesterday and haven't looked at it today....

11:20 am

I think I didn't get it the last 3

11:21 am

I got a rock

11:22 am

planning to smash your computer, Molly?...

11:23 am

It's a Charlie Brown joke

11:23 am

oh, right...

11:24 am

ha! found a word. 2 left, a 5 and a 6, both 2nd row.

11:24 am

go, carla...

11:25 am

probably not going to happen without the list at this point

11:25 am

it's a tough grid...

11:26 am

i still have 46 to find...

11:26 am

not too bad, actually. I've just been looking at these tiles too much and if it's not a 4 I'm not going to stumble onto it.

11:27 am

Bullwinkle is my go-to icon :D

11:27 am

oh, I had no idea what molly was on about earlier 🤣

11:28 am

i like it...

11:28 am

any TS words?

11:28 am

It was such a great cartoon show.

11:29 am

i don't have any...

11:29 am

or SH?

11:29 am

yes, i loved Bullwinkle and Rocky....and Boris Badenov and Natasha....

11:29 am

i don't have any SH words...

11:29 am

oh, found the S

11:30 am

Rocky and Bullwinkle have a cult-like following.

11:30 am

true..

11:30 am

of course the s was scottish

11:30 am

that I've never seen before

11:30 am

now just T6 left

11:31 am

second row T?

11:31 am

Funny how you remembered Boris's last name but not Natasha's.

11:31 am

yes

11:32 am

yes...i was thinking the same thing...don't remember Natasha's last name...

11:32 am

I don't remember it either.

11:32 am

Fatale

11:32 am

I'm pretty sure it was russian

11:33 am

ah yes....that should have been pretty easy to recall....

11:33 am

oh

11:33 am

They worked for The Fearless Leader and Mr. Big

11:33 am

yes....do remember that...

11:34 am

One of my favorite parts of the show was Fractured Fairytales.

11:35 am

Boris Badenov, the world's greatest no-good-nik

11:36 am

And now for something completely different

11:36 am

well I'm pretty sure I've tried every single possibility for the T6

11:37 am

Wassamotta U

11:37 am

yes...i role played a character called Badenov Bear ("You can call me Boris") in an online continuing story about an inept gang of bears....still stuff but it was fun...

11:37 am

And then there was Mr. Peabody & Shermanb

11:37 am

*Sherman

11:38 am

yes, and the time travel machine....

11:39 am

and Fractured Fairy Tales....loved that one...

11:39 am

vicuna, I see you online...no guesses on my T6?

11:39 am

And Dudley Do-Right

11:39 am

aha! never mind.

11:39 am

TADA

11:40 am

The Way Back Machine

11:40 am

lol - My cover is blown! I had only one t6 anyway, and it was a straightforward one, so glad you got it on your own. Congrats.

11:40 am

ooh...Dudley, the RMCP guy.....liked that one, too....

11:40 am

congrats, carla!...

11:41 am

Oh Nell!

11:41 am

thanks vic and pen

11:41 am

"I can't pay the rent! I can't pay the rent!"....

11:42 am

Snidely Whiplash...what a villain

11:42 am

i used to do a comedy routine for my great nephew and niece using an accordion folded paper....i could alternate between Dudley, Snidely and Nell using that prop...

11:43 am

yw, carla....was the last word at all familiar to you?

11:43 am

My mother did the same thing, pen! lol mustache, hair bow, bow tie...

11:43 am

i just found my last T from that row...but still have 48 others to find...

11:44 am

yes, vicuna!...

11:44 am

You must pay the rent!

11:44 am

"You must pay the rent!"...."I can't pay the rent!"..."I'll pay the rent!"....

11:47 am

I think it predates Dudley, Snidely, and Nell, though.

11:48 am

oh probably....but it fit the cartoon characters....

11:49 am

Absolutely.

11:59 am

Hello all. Looks like I need to buy a vowel today.

11:59 am

well i am down to 25....need a break....bbl to finish....bye all....

12:11 pm

If anyone is interested in a short series (7 episodes) spooky show, "Midnight Mass" on Netflix is pretty good.

12:11 pm

I watched that show, Molly, and enjoyed it.

12:13 pm

I like mysteries, but not really spooky or bloody stuff. Mostly, British people killing other British people. Amazon prime and Britbox.

12:20 pm

I am not a fan of Brit TV.

12:23 pm

I don't care for their idea of comedy

12:38 pm

I like British mysteries, but am also not a fan of their comedies.

12:56 pm

I love brit box....I like "Mock the News" and mysteries

I just saw Midnight Mass trailer last night and thought it looked good. Was that the kid (QB1) from Fri Night Lights? and I got the impression it's Stephen King?

and I love British mysteries. the comedies I've watched are good, I just don't think it's the best thing ever like some people.

1:28 pm

Yes it's Zach Gilford from Friday Night Lights, no it's not Stephen King

1:33 pm

The guy who plays Zach Gilford's father is Henry Thomas from ET, all grown up.

oh, I don't think I saw him in the trailer. gosh I feel old.

even though HT is older than me

2:00 pm

I am sure it is called Mock The Week, Vashongin. And you are right it is a very funny series.

2:01 pm

And I should of checked the time stamp to realise you posted that over an hour a go haha!

2:14 pm

I would agree comedy from different countries are not received the same way. I found quite some time a go a youtube video of Stephen Fry explaining why he thinks the reason behind it is. It really is worth a look when whom ever get the chance to look it up. I feel he describes it probably better than anyone. Especially me. Just look up.. Stephen Fry American comedy vs British comedy.

2:15 pm

It is not too long a video. Probably about eight minutes or so.

2:32 pm

Fireworks for me. Happy babbling everyone!

2:39 pm

7 ma

2:43 pm

idk, i find that i like some british comedy and not other british comedy, which is the same as i feel about american comedy.

2:45 pm

hi all. slow going here for me

2:45 pm

top row grey!

I like Opera. I like Soap Opera. I like The Nanny. Who's to say what's high culture and low culture.

2:54 pm

how are you otherwise, peri? :)

2:55 pm

I like a bit of everything

2:55 pm

except jazz, alas

2:56 pm

oh i like jazz now and then. it's heavy metal i can't really do.

2:56 pm

I love heavy metal :)

All jazz? There are so many different artists. Not Miles Davis? Not Louis Armstrong? Not Ella Fitzgerald? Not Chet Baker? Not Benny Goodman?

2:57 pm

maybe a little ella fitzgerald, but only a very little

2:58 pm

I also hate most country music but love folk, so I'm just weird

2:58 pm

no i feel the same way on that one, mael

It's like the people say they hate country and wipe out Johnny Cash and Hank Williams and Emmylou Harris in one fell swoop, as I call it.

2:58 pm

true, I love johnny cash

2:58 pm

it's modern country I don't like, in general

2:58 pm

i like folk and bluegrass

2:58 pm

but not a lot of modern country

I thought I hated country music, but then realized the intersectionality with folk, blues, jazz, and particular American heritage. But maybe not Taylor Swift.

3:00 pm

there is this one country song i do like, called "Little Bitty". i think it's Alan Jackson?

I have found Celtic music and bluegrass boring in the same way but my son-in-law plays bluegrass and it gives me a new take on things.

3:00 pm

I actually don't mind some taylor swift, she hits more the folk than the country for me

3:00 pm

I like celtic music a lot

3:00 pm

which is where a lot of folk draws its inspiration

3:01 pm

if you've never listened to dave carter and tracy grammer I truly recommend them

It's like rap- there are good rap and commercial exploitive rap, and one has to distinguish the artists rather than diss the whole genre, which is somewhat racist.

3:01 pm

phantoms: murmur, turret

Taylor Swift is another story.

3:02 pm

I'd say it was less racist and more misogynistic, as a whole

3:02 pm

but I do enjoy some rap, understanding its flaws

Love or hate Glen Campbell? Love or hate disco? Ready to throw Gloria Gaynor in the basket? What would we do without I Will Survive?

I mean a blanket dismissal of all rap is somewhat racist.

3:03 pm

oh I love disco, no argument there

It's Raining men. And where would we be without YMCA?

I miss the gym.

I even like some Eminem. And as I said, I like opera.

3:05 pm

it's really mostly jazz that I find so dissonant

And Fran Drescher, who brought us Sylvia, Morty and Yetta, and the old Flushing.

I have a client in a minute. Let's just say my tastes are catholic, even though I'm Jewish.

3:07 pm

heh

3:07 pm

I was raised catholic and my tastes are anything but

Mael, I think you don't like Bebop- cool , like Coltraine.

3:08 pm

probably? I feel like I don't even have the vocabulary to describe what I don't like, music has never been my strong suit even if I enjoy it

It gets very chaotic if you're not into it. Listen to Nina Simone.

3:09 pm

I guess what I like of Nina simone is mostly blues, or folky

It's just an American art form with many sources, from New Orleans onward.

She's so passionate. Watch the documentary What Happened Miss Simone? on Netflix I think

Bye now

3:10 pm

mael, i believe Kaplan was earlier trying to say that a blanket dismissal of all rap is what's racist, not that rap is racist. whereas your point about misogyny is about rap itself. :)

3:10 pm

right hurshy!

3:10 pm

oh i see kap explained it too haha

3:10 pm

bye kaplan!

3:11 pm

ok now to find these last 4 words

3:33 pm

3:33 pm

3:33 pm

no that only ends in 2 cons.

3:33 pm

that's a 6

3:33 pm

ok, I do have a 7st......

3:33 pm

3:34 pm

3:35 pm

3:35 pm

3:43 pm

Bye, Harry.

3:44 pm

3:44 pm

My pleasure.

3:46 pm

I'm hoping to improve my vocabulary here. So far, I have only increased my BP. :)

3:46 pm

34 left. Running a few errands.

3:47 pm
