I'm struggling because I'm super distracted. My husband has finally agreed we can get a second dog, and we're going to the local shelter on Monday!

I've been trying to get him to agree for years, but he's always said we don't need another dog.
I've never had 2 at once but I've heard from quite a few people that it's easier that way.
I admire anyone who has the patience to care for more than one dog.

my husband is a sucker for puppies
and people keep dumping them off

my daughter has something like 13 cats now, but no dogs.
we live out in the sticks, a bit like a three-ring circus--but they are all fun

I visited someone who had 11 cats once. Let's just say her house did not smell very good.
I almost threw up last time I went in my brother's house.
we have a black brindled pit who was about 2 when he was dumped--so sweet. Cats at our house have their own door and husband is diligent in keepiing box clean

I have a litter robot - self cleaning litter box - so there's rarely odors. My daughter has several of them since she has so many cats.
