when i was teaching a 4th & 5th grade class, i let each kid go at their own pace in math. i discovered that an above-average student can complete a math textbook in a year, but an average student only completes about 75%.
My own pace in math would be a snail's pace
so i feel like we're just expecting too much to be covered in curricula
some math texts have so much extraneous stuff that one could easily skip and be a completely well-functioning adult.

Marijuana is multiple times more potent than it was 40 years ago. An ounce is actually a lot. It is possible to overdose. The voters in some states got to weigh in before the research was in. Yes, it is possible to do everything in a Harm Reduction stance. Like alcohol. Even like opioids. Just my professional two cents.
What does that mean, "a pot smoker?" Once or twice a week? All day everyday?" It is not an identity- it is an action. And yes, you can be a brainiac and use marijuana. Substance use is not a black & white issue.
I think we all have different views of what a 'stoner' is. Occasional use is not a stoner.
Oh, in the crowd I run with, "stoner" just means someone who smokes pot. Not a chronic user.

I think it we name the behavior and not the person, we get a better idea of what people mean. People who use drugs are not "addicts." They are people who use drugs. Then find out how much how often and whether there is impairment. Too many identifier terms are stigmatizing.
Oh, it's a completely different meaning for me. Stoner being a 24/7 user. many very intelligent people use pot for relaxation, appetite stimulant, pain relief. And I find the word 'stoner' to be derogatory. Agree with what Kaplan has to say as well.
Massachusetts has legalized both. The medical ones are needed. Decriminalization is needed, but someone is making big money off the rec stores. Sometimes there are two right across the street from each other. So to with alcohol stores.
I have to have friends bring me marijuana from other states because my state doesn't have medical marijuana for my health condition.
Up here in Canada, pot is grown , sold, taxed and controlled by the government along with booze. Then there are the grey and black markets...

I have some friends that start with 2 distinct words, to get as many letters as possible.
I always start with ready.
I use ADIEU because it almost covers all the vowels.
That's a good one. I've been doing feast and then pouch, depending what I hit on the first word. I used to use Adieu, but seem to do better with some consonants like S, T or R involved.

i start with ALONE and/or FRUIT because between the 2 of them, they cover all the vowels + some pretty standard consonants...
my 3 start words are FRIED YOUTH CLANS, which cover all the vowels and the most commonly-used consonants. That almost always gives me enough info to get the word on the 4th try. I may start a rock band with that name someday.
with all our needle cases, you'd figure needly would be OK.
