any camping planned, hokie? we've got a trip coming up in a couple of weeks. remote, riverside, flyfishing - packin' the bear spray
we have a couple of trips booked for later in the summer. mr. homie's truck is in the shop right now. his sister and her family from FL are camping 10 min from our house right now, so we've been doing stuff with them like we're camping. ðŸ˜

well, I know some scottish guys, they definitely use some weird ones
We probably won't understand a word they say in the far north
the ones I know are from Glasgow but they've been here about 20 years. they run the soccer place my kids played. when they called on the phone about something it was really hard but in person I can usually figure it out. but they have a guy that comes every summer from scotland to coach for a few weeks so his accent is def. stronger.
And we'll be a lot farther north than Glasgow.

I have another internet friend with them right now. I had them 5 or 6 years ago. I am antishingles too.

My daughter has shingles on her face, and her right eye is swollen shut at the moment. She's on meds. I had shingles years ago, but have the vax now.
I've had shingles twice, and both times it was the mildest thing ever. Got the vax after the 2nd time, because no way I'd be that lucky a 3rd time. Sorry for your daughter ch1212!

I need to wear a special contact in one eye because of shingles. Shingles is no joke....
I was lucky when I got shingles. 2 spots and some pain in the affected nerve. Antivirals and eye drops and it went after a few days. Not eligible for the jab yet as I’m too young!
That vax was awful! I felt worse from that than I ever did with shingles.

they won't give it to me yet, i'm not 50

with how miserable this shit is, i'm planning to be sitting in my dr office on my birthday waiting for the vac
one of my neighbors had it 3x before she was 40 and begged her dr to give her the vax but they wouldn't. I was going to when I turned 50 and here I am a year later still not have gotten it.
I got mine at the pharmacy.
I went to the dr yesterday and the nurse was trying to talk me into it
I did have a fairly mild case so I don't think I was scared enough. and i have heard a lot of people have bad side effects with the 2nd dose.
I had mine two months apart. !st dose, no problem, 2nd dose left me achy for one day, plus one day to fully recover.
I've got lesions wrapped from nearly midline lumbar about half way to midline abdominal, and they HURT. I'm only functional because I'm covering them with lidocaine patches
I very much wish they'd have given me the vaccine when I started asking about it 18 month ago :P

I twas only talking of the vaccine. I had chickenpox at 14, and thus far have not had shingles. My eldest nephew got chixpox at 7, and shingles at 16.

I only had 5 or 6 bumps in a small patch like kinda on my tricep
rating it a 2-3 when i'm covered in lidocaine patches (totally disregarding all manufacture recommendation/limits on how many to use!) and 6-7 without. Not the worst I've every hurt but decidedly not fun.
my other friend was taking same dose of pain meds she did after knee surgery
ibuprofen didn't touch it
I really think getting on the anti-viral so soon helped me a lot
Yeah, i didn't recognize what it was immediately though - thought i had a black fly bite, and maybe an allergic reaction to it. In retrospect I had some skin sensitivity before that but I chalked it up to sun where my shirt rode up while i was working.
so I'm on acyclovir but didn't get it until day 4
I honestly don't know how I knew that's what it was. I had an itchy rash one night but it radiated pain like a million fire ant bites and I just thought, wonder if this is shingles. called and got in to my dr the next day and got on the med then.
well, listed and had to look up some of the F's. gotta get to bed now. good night, and I hope tomorrow is better, jes.
I tend to assume if I hurt it's because I did something and it'll go away. this decidedly did not though :P
