hiya seain :) We are having typically dutch weather. Two weeks ago too hot to sleep without the ventilator on full blast, last week bringing out the second duvet and wearing thick socks, this week back to 28C. And rain. And hail.

and btw?? exercise physiologist checked my BGL's after an hour of exercise this morning. it was 5.2, down from the 7.2 i checked before breakfast. i had to come home and make a huge sandwich, before lunch. then lunch on top of that.

i think this says that i AM eating correctly, and there must be another reason i am not losing weight.
losing weight is much harder fro women than for men.

I am glad you are checking regularly. Because too high does lots of damage to your organs over time, but too low can be deadly all at once.

just found a basal metabolic rate calculator on-line. it says my daily caloric requirement is 2608 cals. my daily intake is between 1200- 1500. does that mean i should increase my daily caloric intake? in order to lose weight?
I would consult a specialist on that. It is never as simple as that.
i wonder if my diabetes educator might be able to point me in the right direction. especially now as it seems i am burning up the cals with my exercise program.
yep, I think that would be a good person to ask. It is hard to find the right balance. If you eat too much, you gain weight. If you eat too little, your body might go all hungerwinter on you and burn up as little as possible, and you won't lose weight.

yeah, rather. But not as totally sleepless as earlier. So I count it as a win ;)

and another nice thing. We have to put our car through a yearly checkup, which is always a bit scary because you do not know if it will come through, and if so, how much it will cost. We found a garage that will give you a specified pro forma bill with what is needed to get the car officially checked, and what it will cost. So no stress. And the amount did not disappoint us. We will be able to drive this oldie another year.

he is going to a workshop to learn how to build his own longbows. Ever since his knees killed his canoeing adventures, he has been focusing on this. Started shooting too at a local club. He is even trying to make his own arrows, which is a helluva job. But it keeps him occupied and amused so I am all for it.
That's so cool, Sprite! Michael and I both made bows, and he made many arrows. I tried fletching, but I was very clumsy with it.

I still have trouble going in his shop. Since the other shed blew away in a storm last winter, it has become storage. I have so much stuff to still go through. I need to have someone out to do an estate sale. I just don't like people messing with stuff. I had some ladies in to clean the other day. They were very polite and quiet, but I was still uncomfortable.

I see the doc again Weds, hopefully he will run some new tests to see if I'm deficient in something. I think the FM just knocks me flat when stress is involved. Plus, we just went from temps over 100F to nice cool 60s and 70s. I'm loving the cooler temps though.
nice that the weather is more comfortable for you. my latest blood test says my iron levels have fallen off a cliff. i am currently below 100, 55 to be exact. gp wants me to eat more eggs.
Last time my iron was checked it was very high. That doc told me to stop using my cast iron. Those are the only skillets I own!

In the winter humidity is low. Never saw any snakes there and gators were just where they belonged
they have cottonmouths/water moccasins, rattlesnakes. I don't rem. if copperheads are there. also, panthers. but the gators are scary.

Will probably never know. The whole thing is weird. The constables didn't come in sirens blazin' or anything...I'd have heard that. The standoff lasted a couple of hours.
You just never know what goes on in people's homes! I saw a woman outside sitting on the curb with what looked like an ice pack on her jaw, but that's all. Was turning around to go out anther way and just saw a glimpse.
we had a standoff once in my neighborhood that lasted pretty much all day. my friend had to pick my son up from preschool and walk him to my house via a greenway. mr. homie had to park at a school on the greenway and walk home when he got home from work.
