too bad leef + i have a mad-busy day at work today... good luck to you all!

9:43 am

Great clues SweetTooth! We have some of those h5's living by us in their h7's. They are HUGE!

9:46 am

We have a whooping crane visiting in Vermont. There are only about 400 in the world and this one is quite the tourist attraction. It's beautiful.

9:54 am

Gail ... COOL! I love living next to the creek because of all the birds. Could do without SOME of the wildlife though (mountain lions in particular)

I live in West Virginia and we had a very unusual visitor last week / an alligator.

10:12 am

I've had a moose in my yard.

10:23 am

alligator??? yikes! The moose would be preferable to that! LOL. Gail where do you live? I'm in Wyoming.

10:29 am

I live in Vermont

10:30 am

my daughter in North Carolina has deer and wild turkeys!

10:33 am

We get lots of wild turkeys, blue herons and hawks.

10:34 am

Aren't those wild turkeys fun?! We have several flocks that wander up and down the valley. last one I saw was tailing (literally!) a big ol' tom cat who was stomping across the field headed home. EVERYone feeds the turkeys around here so they're practically tame.

10:43 am

Darleen, that reminds me of a mockingbird I saw chasing a cat out of my yard!

11:08 am

We have several vehicle accidents due to Deer but here recently the turkey has been causing some also. One flew threw a mans drivers side windshield and he had to go to the hospital. The turkey seem to be worse this year, however, the deer population is down.

11:10 am

very weird that it wont take couger or cougers.

11:17 am

that's because it's "cougAr" not "cougEr"

11:19 am

there is a couger also / atleast here there is :))

11:23 am

And Babble often takes alternative spellings of words, it never ceases to surprise me.

12:19 pm

12:32 pm

LOL wilson27fan! You're right, of course :-)

12:44 pm

Gail, may I please have a clue for the r/8/40 and o/8/45.

12:51 pm

O8 To replace or make obsolete or old-fashioned To recognize (a superior) with a gesture prescribed by military regulations, as by raising the hand to the cap again, Add a prefix to S6/18

12:52 pm

Ooops, that second clue if for the R8

Thanks Gail... can't believe that r/8 is an actual word!

12:57 pm

Gail, thanks, got them both.

With all the animal talk, I thought you guys might want to see some pictures I took at the Omaha Zoo last week: http://www.livejournal.com/users/blackbird__fly/273112.html

2:56 pm

Those are great pictures! I love zoos. We went to the Franklin Zoo in Boston three weeks ago. I love the little blue penquins at the Aquarium in Boston. I saw the Omaha Zoo on Ultimate Zoos on Animal Planet.

4:20 pm

Great pictures, Runningforhome. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing? I have these 8 letter words: C8/65 L8/65 O8/45 R8/40 W8/60 Advanced thanks.

4:28 pm

Running, great pictures. I know what you mean about the gorillas. I went to the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle and all the gorillas were sitting with their backs to the onlookers. Definitely felt like they were making a statement. I went to see the "Corpse Flower" today. It's a giant flower that has a scent like rotting flesh when it blooms. The bloom only lasts for a few days. The plant is 10 yrs old and this was it's first bloom. Quite a sight!

4:33 pm

it's taking a long time for the words i punch in to register. Anyone else having a problem?

4:41 pm

Yes, Xena, it's taking forever. Yesterday's puzzle was fine, but the day before it developed an error and when I got back in I continued entering words but it only registered the words that I had before the error. So I ended up with about 40 words and a very low score. Very frustrating.

6:40 pm

Hi Mary. Glad i wasn't the only one. I shut off my computer for a while and it seems to be working fine now. It is very frustrating. I lost about an hour of playing time. :(

10:00 pm

There are two R8/40's.
