6:48 am

but be careful....it's addictive!!!!

6:58 am

thanx youngster its now clear.

6:58 am

I'm new to this. Is there a quicker way to enter words? the disappearing screen slows the whole process down & is very frustrating!

7:03 am

nah, but you'll get used to it lotuseater

9:00 am

oops, only three of the 5 y's.

9:09 am

thank you fit1:-)

9:13 am

omg, there is a 60 pt word beginning with F?..I got one for 30..but 60?..Beyond my ken..can someone clue me in?..Puleeeeze???

9:18 am

f8/60 weighty issue

9:38 am

ty, so much. I found it just a few minutes ago..i never think about anything much beyond the root word. Am new , Polish and blonde..what a handicap..hahah, ty again

9:44 am

No worries... I've got an f7/40, but not the f6/30. I think i've gone word-blind.

9:47 am

ah, got it... didn't think that was a word.

9:47 am

Does all of you use dictionaries and other kinds of help?

9:48 am

new user here. My highest is F/7 48

9:48 am

hey, that word is just another rendition of the F 60...like what a biblical figure would offer up..a (blank) calf..hope this helps

9:56 am

Cheers LK...that's the connection I made too. The f7/48 is baking my noodle now.

10:02 am

ANJ,..dang..i didnt see there was an F7..am noodle baking as well...

10:08 am

well, i have to give up..going to a cookout..IN THE RAIN..ugh..GL, ANJ

10:10 am

ta - have fun.

10:24 am

Dr. God I am a faithful player-why have you dropped me from the player list?

11:08 am

struggling again with the y's. have one at the mo' anyone got any clues?! :(

11:13 am

i'm struggling with the Ys too... i have y4/7 but that's it. someone said something about 3 of the y-words meaning 'gossip' but i can't get it!

11:13 am

three of the y's are Yiddish

11:16 am

y4, y5x2, y6

11:18 am

thanks kimdog, i now have 4 out of 5 ys!! :-)

11:20 am

denny, 3 of the y's are Yiddish and mean gossip or meddler (y5 x 2; y6) am missing one other y though

11:23 am

new girl here, thought I was good word person...is being english a disadvantage?

11:23 am

does anyone know the u's? i'm baffled...

11:23 am

Thanks stenef, got those, but not the other one yet!

11:25 am

tbear - i'm new too and i'm having the same problem...

11:28 am

tbear and anj - me too but google works wonders! esp for the yiddish clues. I have one u - still working on the others

11:29 am

how many words does averyone have? i feel i'm not doing very well!...

11:30 am

thanx Denny - got the 5 ys now but it was luck more than erudition!

11:31 am

58 words & struggling

11:31 am

I've only got 53 - just cannot work out the 5th y?

11:31 am

seen this game recomended in mail on sunday this is so maddening i love it cant get a j word :(

11:33 am

only got 1y

11:33 am

so are a lot of the words Yiddish or whatever?

11:33 am

I got mine purely by typing in all different combos! Saw it on MoS too - how addictive! Better than sudoku

11:35 am

i think maybe just some of the y words, but could be wrong. One of the j's is an acronym and its plural

11:36 am

still can't get any u's!! how many letters are they?

11:37 am

I'm just resisting the temptation to try that. Which y don't you have?

11:38 am

...meaning y4, y5 or y6!

11:39 am

I cant get any j's or u's either, and only 1 y....are there really 26 d's?

11:39 am

i have y5/16, y5/16, y6/27 and y4/7. can't find another though!

11:40 am

don't worry. i only have 11 d's

11:40 am

y6

11:41 am

As far as y's go, I have 2 y4's, 2y5's and 1 y6. I don't have any of the u's.

11:41 am

U5/10

11:41 am

I only have 7 d's

11:42 am

Also saw in MoS , agree better than sudoku. I have 89 words & 1080 pts , is that good? As a newbie I have no idea!

11:42 am

Cherrypop - write directly to Dr. God via the comments/questions button. There have been numerous ratings oddities lately. Scores going up and down without any discernible correlation to actual scores earned, etc.

11:42 am

i'm missing a y4 then...

11:43 am

try the y5 with an s on the end. Ok, not subtle but i'm struggling with the yiddish...

11:44 am

sorry its y4 I don't have. j4/11, j5/24, v6/30

11:44 am

any clues for the j6?

11:45 am

11:52 am

11:52 am

Thanks for letting me know. I thought I was a word whizz 'til i got on here.

11:54 am

i'm an MOS victim too i'm afraid! stumped by the bus clue from Anj... i guess i just don't know the word!

11:55 am

Just-jo - think it's an american form of transport. Might even be the nicknam for a nickel as well...

11:56 am

12:19 pm

12:36 pm

somebody help ive only got two 4 letter words!

12:38 pm

still searching for those e's (i have 3 now) and also a dreaded u!!

12:39 pm

can someone explain all these codes like n7/28 mean?it would really help.thanks

12:41 pm

the letter tells you the first letter of the word, the number tells you how many letters, and the final number tells you the score of the word. eg n6/24 would mean a 6-letter word beginning with n that scores 24

12:43 pm

thanks just-jo!i get the idea now.

12:44 pm

apparently there's an o6/18 but i can't find it anywhere!

12:45 pm

Just-jo - any clues on those Es? I've just got an e5/10 and it's getting lonely...

12:45 pm

d6/21 if that helps anyone - only 15 more d's to find!

12:45 pm

i cannot find o4/4!ive tried all the possible answers!

12:48 pm

elouber e4/4 ryhmes with puns!

12:48 pm

Welcome to new Babblers - from all over the world!! Hint: when you get really stuck, a good reference tool is the a2zwordfinder.com site. In their 'partial letters lookup' section you can put in any beginning letters, ending letters, or even middle ones. It then pulls up all the words, but letter count, beginning with the letters you put in [etc.]. Very helpful especially for the words that are especially unknown!!

12:48 pm

elouber - o4/4 is another word for poems.

12:49 pm

is there a set number of words you have to find

12:50 pm

oops - should proofread my msgs. a2zwordfinder gives you all the words divided BY letter count - sorry

12:50 pm

Anj... there's e4/7 (think of the overhang on a roof) and another e4/7 (think of what part of the body you see out of, and add another letter), but there are atill 4 more e's to find... denny, i need a clue on that d6/21... please!!! elouber - for the o4/4, think of the first number when you count, and add another letter)

12:50 pm

just-jo o6/18 is a word for dining alfresco - found it completely by accident!

12:51 pm

12:52 pm

12:52 pm

12:56 pm

thanks kindly. knew i must have been missing one. =)

12:58 pm

can't work out that o6/18, and denny i don't have the d5/12 to pluralise :-(

1:00 pm

Just-jo - Denny hit the spot with the dining alfresco clue. Think picnic - it's two 3 letter words in the wrong order %-)

1:01 pm

d5/12 is if you want to repeat something, d6/21 is plural. o6/18 is bizarre but is literally alfresco dined!

1:02 pm

just got the final y!

1:04 pm

I have a d5/12 that's a different tense of both d5/14 and d4/5.

1:04 pm

thanks guys! that helped loads :-) right then denny... clues for the final y4 please!! (if you don't mind, that is...)

1:04 pm

2:24 pm

2:34 pm

Any clues on the 6 letter a word??

2:34 pm

2:35 pm

You can make the a6 by removing the first letter from one of the 7 letter words.

2:38 pm

Thanks pmbuko! I'd just got the a6, so you gave me a clue for f7. That's been bugging me all day - much appreciated :)

2:49 pm

a simple suggestion for those of you constantly scrolling down to the babble stats or writing them down...just cut and paste them onto a word document, englarge the type face so you can read it, and leave it up as an open page so you can always refer to it.

2:51 pm

got another e5. One more!

3:26 pm

Arrgh... can anyone point me toward my missing D? I've got: da4x4 da5x3 da6x2 de4x4 di4x2 di5x2 di6 do4x3 do5 du4x3 Thanks!

3:47 pm

I've got the da6/24 that is a past tense of a d4, any clues on the other one?

da6/21 related to the same d4

3:58 pm

kimdog, the other da6 is a da6/21 and is related to the two das you're talking about. I don't know the definitions for these words, but the one you need sounds like it might be a dimunitive form of the shorter one you already have. If that's any help ;)
