1:50 am

marlen: It's a form of one of your c/7's. As is c8/50

1:50 am

for the c9 hint, you'll add two letters in front of an R7/32... anyone with Q hints? i feel silly not seeing anything with that...

doogie u sure about the 2xs, am struggling to find both

3:37 am

Sleep well, doogle! Try not to dream of endless grids ;)

3:39 am

absolute annie, I found two of them, both same ending, not the same 2nd letter though.

3:41 am

Yeah. As if. :) Goede nacht!

3:45 am

:D That's perfect Dutch! Goedenacht en droom prettig. ;)

3:47 am

whats a good score ? I have 648

3:51 am

Wouldn't worry about a score, every word you find is a good one. We don't know yet how many points you can earn with this grid, all we know is there are 312 words.

3x2/7??? good lord, Im gonny b here all day

3:53 am

i've only got an eighth of those !

3:58 am

A11/120 ! Wow, great to find that one!

WOW sprite, well done, any clues

3:59 am

The A11 is related to the A8/60-9/78 combo and means someone specialised in those.

4:00 am

Think of sound.

Thanx sprite, I will fret over that one later, lol

4:04 am

Still bouncing on my chair from pure fun and proud ;) I looked up the word and found that it refers to a physicist, rather than a musician as I was thinking. But still, sound is the key.

Have the first two A's but workin on the 11 letter one thanx again

Congrats! Only about a 100 more words to find...

4:11 am

Wow - I hadn't even seen those. Nice, Sprite! But... there's *another* a8/60 and a9/78 :)

4:12 am

Yes, I found them. Too bad they don't have a companion like the A11 though!

4:18 am

Has the C8/60 been mentioned yet? Plural of C6/30, nice spring flower.

4:27 am

A couple of very unpleasant words, all related, some already mentioned: N7/36, N8/50, N9/72, N8/50, N8/60.

4:29 am

got the a11/120,a9/78, and a8/60 Thanks sprite :) !!!!

4:34 am

Doogle, with no clit and no taste for that A4/4, there's nothing to it than becoming an O7/28 and occupy ourselves with O9/66 behaviour. ;) Real shame there is no plural to that last one.

4:35 am

You're welcome, elmer :) Fun finding, isn't it?

4:39 am

Sprite - indeed. Too bad there's also no 012 practioner of said, um, practice. Right. It's 5:39 a.m. I really must sleep.

4:40 am

Good morning. Found the n/9=78. More hints PLEASE............

4:42 am

There is another couple of related N-words, also not too pleasant, but at least this sleep is temporary, as opposed to the deadly nature of the other N-couple. Some are already mentioned, I'll list them in order. N5/14, N6/24, N7/36, N8/50, N8/50, N9/78. I think there are no more possibilities with this word, but I'd love to hear if someone finds more!

4:43 am

Doogle, go to bed, you addict! ;)

4:52 am

Thank you! Just left with the n7. Must get on with the day.

4:59 am

Nine more words and not a clue... can't find even one more. Time for a break!

5:03 am

Only 9 more words??? sprite, I love you and hate you, all at once...

5:06 am

Wow it's a high-scoring day today! Certainly over 4k... Maybe 5k even?

5:23 am

LOL Readhead! Just like I love and hate babble, I guess. Right Technium, it is over 5k, got 293/5545 now.

5:25 am

By the way, am I the only one who keeps wanting to make 'scarface'?

5:28 am

any hints on the E?!

5:32 am

E4/6: Of or relating to features or items analyzed without considering their role as a structural unit in a system, as in behavioral science or linguistics. Sorry, but you asked ;)

5:34 am

Can you believe it? 7 of my missing words are C's!

5:35 am

Thanks Sprite, will work on that!

5:38 am

Okay, guess you learn something new (if not useless) every day..... thanks Sprite :)

5:45 am

My eternal excuse for playing babble ;)

5:48 am

Argh... I can spell, but it seems I cannot add up numbers! Another 19 words, not 9!

5:50 am

Ah, but the real question is how do I get non-babblers to leave me alone so I can play more?!

5:51 am

LOL! Thought there was something wrong with your numbers!

5:55 am

Morning. I'm 38/1035 so far. This one is scary. Q8/65 if anyone wants one..

5:55 am

Good question, Lola100! Point them to another pc and get them addicted too? Those last words are real b*tches, as usual. And probably most of them are forgotten plurals or words I was certain I had already entered.

5:58 am

Allright, found one: there is an N4/6 that comes at the beginning of those sleep-related N's. *hits herself on the head*

6:05 am

Seeing as Anj mentioned the Q's...! I have 8 of them q4x1, q5x1, q6x3 and q8x3. Can anyone help me find the last one?

6:12 am

Lola100, it's a Q7/44 - alkaloid of the Q6/30

6:15 am

franion?

6:15 am

in my dictionary.......any comments

6:16 am

Anyone found the 10 letter words yet? It's helpful to have all of you on the other side of the Atlantic posting clues while we sleep!! Thanks!

6:17 am

Suffering the same fate as n....tise. Not Enabled, presumably.

6:20 am

Thanks Anj :), just finished my Q's- yay!

6:22 am

Me Too...only another 262 words to go now. Oh boy...

6:44 am

Argh!! It took some random acronym a few days back from some stupid institute for the blind but it won't take SETI!?!?!?! Morning all!

6:46 am

Morning Jen. It won't take Frosties either and they're GRRRREat!

6:50 am

And it's taking just word endings?!?!? Ooooh, this is gonna be a frustrating day!

7:02 am

61/1023 Second day......Missed breakfast but need lunch. All clues SO welcome.

7:14 am

Don't you just hate it when it takes a word you make up only to find there's no definition of it anywhere? S6/24

Feel dumb today!

7:36 am

Are the unpleasent N words unusual, or in common use....they're driving me mad

7:41 am

Depends which ones. Some refer to a soporific, the others are a biblical thing about inappropriate nookie

7:45 am

i tried roasties but that doesnt work :(

7:45 am

Ah must be the 'nookie' ones as I have the soporific ones......cheers.

7:47 am

Technium, thanks for the S6 clue! Was one of my missing ones, and if it is the one you meant, the definition is "Hindu banker". Found it on infoplease.com. :)

7:49 am

And jamest: the non-sleepy N-biggies are related to 'death of cells or tissues through injury or disease'.

7:52 am

D'oh! Sorry jamest...i'm getting my Ns & Os mixed up now. Brain needs a reboot :'(

7:55 am

Another word that I did not know until now: S8/50 - an amateur who engages in an activity without serious intentions and who pretends to have knowledge. Would I fit that description babbling, seeing how I cannot even calculate my missing words correctly? Four more... if I counted right ;)

7:55 am

Melv? you there?! I don't geddit...

7:57 am

new one to me too, sprite

7:58 am

Glad to hear I am not the only one! I needed the help of a2z for that one, wouldn't have found it otherwise.

7:58 am

Very jealous Sprite! Congrats!

8:07 am

Cheers sprite...I have the disease ones now....I can get on with some work now

8:11 am

I'm here, been playing for hours and now completely stuck...

8:13 am

So there are big O words relating to an inappropriate nookie? right?

8:16 am

well . . . auto-nookie

8:19 am

Cool, i have four so far, not sure I'm very good at this!

8:23 am

Am I really that naive??? Just not seeing it.

8:25 am

Finally finished that darn C. We have seen complete grids that were smaller than just this one letter, lol. I'll list a countdown, for those who want it. Ca4 x3, Ca5, Ca6 x2, Ca7, Ca8, Ca9 Ce4, Ce5, Ce7 Ci4 x4, Ci5 x2 CL4, CL5, CL7 Co4 x5, Co5 x8, Co6 x6, Co7 x2, Co8 Cr4, Cr6 x4, Cr7, Cr8 Cu4 x2, Cu5 x4, Cu6 x2, Cu7

Hi everyone. Managed to get on here earlier today. hope to get a better score than yesterday!

8:52 am

312 words / 5.38 / 5779 points Final word was another simple N4... took me ages to find it though :)

9:19 am

Sprite - Hopw do you do it. TIPS PLEASE. Day 2 and struggling on 86/1337 which I thought was good....Joke!!

9:26 am

As a high level competitive Scrabble player, I find this game great fun, but don't care for the open-ended time allowed for completion. Clearly those who do best at this are using aids--what fun is that? It would be fun to do this competitively with a time limit of say 30 minutes per round, and no use of aids.

This isn't a competition, though.

A time limit? How could I play at work then?

9:33 am

Ugh! How can craisin not be a word?? Its dried cranberries!

Yeah, I noodle around in between tasks at work. refreshes my brain. :)

9:40 am

Ben, IMO just because I use help and hints, does not mean I am not having fun. I am competing against myself, not others.

9:41 am

I think dried cranberries are just dried cranberries and "craisen" is a brand name. I have a bag of dried cranberries in my desk and I looked to make sure. : (

9:41 am

Moozey, I'll get you for this!!!

9:45 am

ben, this isn't a competition. I play it totally for myself. I hope that others do well and I am always willing to help. It just keeps my mind active...I truly enjoy it... 8)

9:46 am

im only on 64/ 774 and im already stuck! :(

Have we had hints for the 10 and 11 letter words? This grid, it makes my brain hurt!

9:53 am

I agree with baggo, I play for myself and to keep my mind active.

9:54 am

hey everybody! i was hoping today would be better than yesterday..how foolish! :)

10:00 am

I was a Babble virgin until today. I'll never get one finished in my lunch hour. 96/1604

I am missing a q, and my tooth hurts: q4/8, q 5/18 ,q 6/36, q 6/30X2, q7/44, q 8/60, q 8/65. bah humbug.

2:43 pm

4 syllables

2:44 pm

Belated good to see you too, Baggo. I was so manically typing for a time there, I hadn't scrolled after my first post. Got the A11 right away. Still dreading the Q's. However, did get the q865. Don't know what the hell it means, but I got it!

2:44 pm

thx kallia

2:44 pm

I must be having one of my dizzy days cos I just can't see it !!!

2:46 pm

Oh, this is going from bad to worse. I just looked at the stats and realized there's 72 U's. Bloody hell.

2:47 pm

got it caro?

2:47 pm

caro try this - another name for some one who plays music is a m*******. the a11 is kind of like that if you use the other two words a8 or a9.

2:47 pm

How may u's? blimey I'll never get this done by Silent Witness!!

2:48 pm

Hi I'm new here could somone give me a rough idea how many words I'm looking for please. Thanks.

2:48 pm

Judi, that is the letter count. Only 6 words start with U, but the U is used 72 times. GUess I shouldn't post that confusing stuff.

2:48 pm

Thanks Denny ---- at last the penny drops !!!

2:49 pm

u is used 72 times, but only 6 start with u.

2:49 pm

Hi Lottie uhm that will be a lot! 312 I think. If you jump down to the bottom and scroll up the stats are there

2:49 pm

Thanks, brandyjack. 72 Us did seem ...unlikely.

2:50 pm

judi, look at the repost...only 6 u's they put the point totals...

2:50 pm

It'll come to you... probably while listening to some music that was recorded in a studio suite, the components (particularly the ceiling and wall materials) of which were probably chosen by a person whose job title is the word you're looking for.

2:50 pm

phew thank god for that - i broke out into a hot sweat! didn't think there were that many words in the english language beginning with u!!!

2:50 pm

boreetos...I am thick!! cant see it Judi 72 u's????? Hope not!

2:51 pm

oops sorry brandy didn't see your post...thanks for doing the stats...

2:53 pm

Thanksfor that denny

2:54 pm

2:56 pm

kallia- start with the u, but think music.

2:57 pm

back to work kids.

2:59 pm

A clue for the o10: you would win a regatta by "_____" the other boats.

3:04 pm

BTW the two g words are totally awesome onomatopoeia.

3:24 pm

hopefully these will help...i've only listed ones that i don't think we have mentioned... c7/36,c8/50,c9/72 to engage in boisterous drunken merry making a8/45 to excite c744/c8/60 molding at the top of walls between the walla and ceiling c6/30/c8/60 spring flowers sprite listed all the n's earlier...they deal with drugs and death and sleeping... n8/55 observing o9/66 coitus interruptus (masturbation)

3:34 pm

Thanks much baggo. Now that I'm a SAHM it's been far too long since I've done any c9/72 myself and I forgot all about it! It was staring me right in the face LOL

3:34 pm

Okay, it's confirmed. I am a naive 32 year old. I am totally NOT getting the O9 clue. :)

3:34 pm

Thanks Baggo!

3:34 pm

Huge help, thanks baggo

3:38 pm

I keep thinking I'm doing really well until I remember there are 312 words!

3:43 pm

I understand the clue, but I'm still not getting the O9 either.

3:43 pm

whats a SAHM?

3:46 pm

ok for the o9 is the def that came up at dictionary.com...go to onelook.com and put in the masturbation part...the at the bottom look at the words similar part there. the root of the word is in that list

3:46 pm

Stay At Home Mom

3:46 pm

For the O9, think biblical figure....

3:48 pm

Got the O9. Man, that is obscure!

3:49 pm

There is an O7-28 related to the 09.

Following Baggo. Only I'm leaving because is 5:00 EST - quitting time!

4:03 pm

from a newbie in the uk where it is 10pm thanks for all the help and I'm looking forward to meeting and chating with you all again.

4:35 pm

brandyjack, i have 2 se4/4. what's the points on your other se4?

4:44 pm

how do i play?

4:49 pm

chloe, look for words among the letters that touch. You can go in any direction but the lettters have to touch and you can't sue the same letter more than once in one word. If you submit a non-word, or won you have already submitted, Babble will tell you. Otherwise, your words and their value will begin listing to the right of the grid. have FUN!!!

4:49 pm

you can't USE the same letter etc...

4:49 pm

hey swmbo

4:51 pm

tee hee I have lured another addict, hi MissyK

4:52 pm

Hey Moozey! yes you did

4:54 pm

hey MissyKaye and Moozey! This one is the owrst yet, Missy, you'll see... But thank goodness for the nudges in the message board, they can help lift the veil from your eyes... Where is Gwen?

4:55 pm

So, seducer of innocent phriends, what is your score?

4:55 pm

I see that. i'm glad you posted the rules for someone else. I was about to ask myself.

4:55 pm

Hi SWMBO, Missyk, Moozey

4:57 pm

Hey, hey, another phriend!!!

4:57 pm

Hi Amy!! Phriends are representing. But, it's time for me to go. Darn! I'll have to wait for tomorrow to play. Good luck.

4:58 pm

Amy too, cool. Bye MissyK

5:00 pm

I have only 55 words, 711 so far...Lizzy got a 60 pointer for me

5:03 pm

I'm up to 115/1968 but that was with some of the clues below :oD

"phriends"?

5:07 pm

an alternate spelling for friends, but only in another sphere. Sorry, I guess inside jokes aren't nice if you aren't inside, I apologise... We are friends from another place...

5:30 pm

5:35 pm

Is all of England in the same time zone? Moozey, aren't you getting sleepy, verryyy sleeppy???

5:39 pm

No, thank you though. There are many clues below I haven't looked at yet. I like to get them on my own. But I'm getting stumped now. Perhaps after I have a full tummy I'll be revitalized. Did you find the 60 pointer?

5:44 pm

5:47 pm

I have 5 60 pointers, one a, two n's, two q's

I got a 72 pointer

5:48 pm

5:48 pm

5:51 pm

Well, I wasn't suggesting it was small LOL, just wondering. You know, these little questions that sometimes just flit through your head, a small urge to add to your store of trivia...

5:52 pm

5:53 pm

whoot! 2 in a row!

5:54 pm

6:02 pm

Wow, you guys are good. Now that my blood sugar is restored I'll see what I can do.

6:03 pm

The F-words I found were all either FA or FR, 7 of the first and 2 of the second.

6:10 pm

Oooooooooooh, SWM..ty, i found the f's..i am just tired out today..blood sugar waaaaay off...am going for a wee walk..and done..(thanks, buddy..i appreciate your help!)

6:22 pm

don't you hate it when every letter you need for a lovely long word is there but the very last one you need?

6:25 pm

ooooh, a 78! A new personal best!

6:26 pm

Yes. I also hate that there were two perfectly good, long words, one ending in 'ise' the other in 'ising' and both were rejected, presumably because they used 's' instead of 'z' OTOH, tweo of the u's ended with 'ise' and 'ises' G figger.

6:27 pm

whoohooo! A good one!

6:29 pm

I think I'm done. I have some stuff to do before bed. Maybe I'll be back for one last kick at the can, maybe not. 117/2412

7:15 pm

Wow, this is truly humbling! I've always considered myself to be a bit of a word ho, but going back over the results of yesterdays puzzle... I had to look up every third word!! I guess, looking on the bright side, my word ho side will be fed new fodder! Fun stuff. :-)

7:18 pm

It's scary - i'm learning all these new words, but forgetting all the important ones...like food, sleep lol

7:41 pm
