Wow, you must have some high point words that I'm missing. I think some people have some kind of stat generator program or something. I'm kind of a technophobe, so I don't know much about these things.

12:58 am

I'm stuck at 96/970 (and also wondering what big word Hugabugs found!)...I wish I knew how to do the stats-thingy!

1:01 am

Me, too.

1:01 am

I've got f5/16x5 if that helps I'm not too technical myself

1:05 am

Yes, it does. I only had two. Thx!

1:05 am

e5/28

1:07 am

Bummer. Doesn't know atol, or atols

1:09 am

check your spelling :)

1:14 am

Today's babblestats: 8 x 2 7 x 3 6 x 11 5 x 50 4 x 89 --- 155 words --- A -- 6 C -- 12 E -- 4 F -- 16 H -- 8 J -- 6 L -- 20 N -- 6 O -- 7 P -- 15 S -- 34 T -- 21

1:16 am

Sprite, do you have letters used?

1:16 am

Nope, I don't.

1:16 am

Thx, sprite. Gives me some renewed vigor. Only 55 to go.

1:18 am

I read you were quite far already, so I figured some stats would come in handy, smithchick :D I just start now, just got out of bed.

1:26 am

thanks, sprite :-)

1:31 am

f8/55

1:36 am

buenas tardes everyone!!!!!

1:45 am

morning all, i have one A to find. So far I have 1a5/16, 2a5/10,1a6/18,1a4/10. Any clues about which one I'm missing?

1:45 am

not to worry, found it!

1:45 am

1 a4/4

1:45 am

nevermind then :)

1:46 am

an a4/6. One of those you'll kick yourself over.

2:10 am

are the O words really obscure today?

2:11 am

There is at least one O you see quite regularly! ;-)

2:12 am

I've got two fairly common ones and one less used, but not obscure so far.

2:13 am

sprite, if that's to do with frequency, i found that one but am drawing a blank with more at the moment.

2:15 am

caffeine needed, time for a break, back soon.

2:25 am

There is only one O a little obscure, O4/4 with no def that I can find. If you change one letter of the word that babble says to me all the time, you'll have it.

2:29 am

thanks sprite, got it, babble says it to me all the time too!

sprite - there's a second O5/16

2:33 am

I have the word, smilerannie, but I do not think there is anything obscure about it :)

Sorry - I though you said there's only 1 O. My mistake

i'm having all kinds of trouble finding the last F5/16

don't be 'silly' i heart toasty

2:37 am

There are 7 Os, of which only one is obscure. I am nowhere near finishing the Fs, so I can't help there, i heart toasty.

I only have 4 Fs, but I do have the F5/16

2:41 am

Got only 7 Fs, but there are 2 F5/16 among them. Differ in only one letter.

2:42 am

caffeine always helps-well, a bit. now have1 o5/14,1 o5/16, 2 o4/4. any clues on the missing 3?

2:43 am

f5/16x4

2:44 am

correction - f5/16x5

2:44 am

O4/4, O4/6, O5/10

thanks sprite. Now got the other F5/16

wait, how many 05/16 words are there? Because i've got 7 o words and only one 05/16.

2:59 am

There is only one O5/16.

3:00 am

thanks sprite, got the o4/6, still looking for the other two.

I think there's only 7 Os, but I only have 1 and that's the O5/16 :(

3:11 am

P7/60 - P8/80 combo I am surprised to see valid. Thought it was calling names. Def: 'derogatory term(s) used to describe someone who is possibly attracted to people of their own gender' (the word seems to come from Australia)

3:17 am

morning from fife happy hunting

good mornin from sunny glasgow, here we go again huh

3:22 am

Good morning to you!

3:24 am

155 words / 4.57 / 1804 points is what we are looking for today... with some surprising finds :)

the only time i've ever heard the p8/80 was in a flying circus episode

Oh fab sprite, am sooooo addicted to this site, but my pc is running v.slow this mornin, its takin ages to load when I put a word in the box, gawd knows whats up, if it goes on like this I will b here till next week

3:37 am

I hate that when that happens, takes half the fun out of the game if your pc runs slow. I always stop any downloads when I start playing. Oh, one more hint: there is one of the seven sins in the grid! ;)

Ahh got it fixed sprite, I run my laptop connection through a router and so does my son, he was downloadin somethin, only thing is now I cant see any words lol

3:42 am

You mean all words you found are lost? That is bad!

Nah, i still got them, just seemed more to find while I was staring at screen waitin on it loadin

3:44 am

Any clues for the 2 8's?...

3:51 am

Wish I had some Aussie mates for the P7?60 and P8/80.

3:52 am

u mean 2 words with 8 letters? Sorry, I am new to this

3:52 am

I'm an AUSSIE :-)

3:53 am

ah well, 94 words and babbled out for the moment. still missing an o4 and an o5, sprite!

The first half of the P8/80 isn't all that uncommon in a similar context.

Im shocked at the p7/p8 word being there, Im in social work and will prob be struck off the register just for using that word!!!!!

3:58 am

Zoom, my bet is you are missing the combo for 'fragrant essential oil(s) or perfume(s) obtained from flowers or petals'. Alternate spelling. Good luck! Absolute Annie, glad you didn't loose all your words! :) You'll find the rest, I am sure.

4:00 am

WHAT DOES 'o4 and an o5' MEAN?

4:12 am

ROZY: CAPS LOCKS ROX! Er... check the rules section, which tells you about the scoring system. For example, smithchick found a L7/52 which means that smithchick found a word that starts with L, has seven letters, and nets 52 points.

4:13 am

rozy,it means Owords with 4 &5 letters

4:14 am

sprite, i'm sure you're right but still struggling.

Any clues for the F8/55?

4:45 am

I need one more L, have l4x11, l5x4, l6x3 and l7. Can anyone help?

4:47 am

The root of P8/80 is Australian, but the slang only applies in the British language. Again, it shouldn't be a valid word.

4:48 am

L5 x 5

4:50 am

zoom, need p4/6x2, but have others you have

4:50 am

thanks Sprite

4:51 am

is there a 80 point one? can i have a clue for it pls.

4:52 am

zoom, got 3 more ps. head smack!

4:54 am

Chloe, there is def at 03.11 am. You can also try this: first part is a sound, think of shooting. The other part is the inverse of what you would wear on your head. Plural.

4:57 am

dianne, yuo're missing an o4/6 - chooses and an o5/10-plural of the fragrant oil/man's name.

4:58 am

thx sprite, finally got 'em. had the first 4 letters but couldn't connect the ending(s)!

4:59 am

broll, are you still short of p4/6s?

5:01 am

6:27 am

hey guys its tbears daughter lol cant you give me any tips for finding words? im new at this x

6:41 am

Jaxx, you can download the Enable dictionary from here: http://personal.riverusers.com/~thegrendel/enable2k.zip but it is the latest version and Babble isn't using the latest I don't think, so there will be words in there that Babble will still not allow.

7:50 am

TomazianRedfist, I've just found an e word by chance (as is usually the way I find words). It's an ea4/y, obsolete word meaning easy.

9:31 am

hello, im new at this. what code are you guys talking in?

9:59 am

sammi - to4/7 means a word beginning with 'to' that has four letters in total in it and the value of those four tiles equals 7.

10:11 am

brilliant leila, thanks. do you have clues for the other two?

10:13 am

lo6 is plural of lo5, don't know what they literally mean but think abundance + an exclamation. Hope that makes some sort of sense!

10:14 am

Meant to say abundance singular

10:15 am

think i might have that one already leila, is there only one lo5/16

10:17 am

No, there's 2, the other is what you might use in the bath or shower minus a letter

10:32 am

Morning, all. Any clues for the last j word. I have J4/11X3 and J5/24X2. What am I missing?

10:39 am

I just got the last 2 j4/11 by typing in nonsense words that followed word patterns. Have no idea what they mean! :) or I'd give you a clue.

10:41 am

Munner, J5 is French, coin-like the other is plural for the J4/11 also French for a springing jump in ballet. LOL

10:41 am

to4/7 hillock or homstead

10:42 am

homestead

10:42 am

ok, so i know what the first half of the P8 is, but i think i need a hint as to which direction to go in for the second half... any hints on the F8 would be helpful too!

10:44 am

for end of p8, invert what you wear on your head and make it plural

10:44 am

the second part is the backwards of wot u put on ur head, then pluralise it

10:45 am

thanks lolly!

10:45 am

Evanadine, the second part of the P8 is as if to say goodbye in high-society. the F8 is what is found at the bottom of a page in a book. Hope it helps without giving away too much.

10:47 am

--- 155 words --- A -- 6 C -- 12 E -- 4 F -- 16 H -- 8 J -- 6 L -- 20 N -- 6 O -- 7 P -- 15 S -- 34 T -- 21

10:47 am

thank you, but it didn't help me.

10:49 am

to4/7 - what you might call a posh person but change the last letter

10:50 am

ok i get what the second half of the p8 is--is there a hint for the first half? thanks!

10:51 am

ok i got it by randomly typing letters!

10:51 am

the first half is the noise something magic makes when it appears and disappears

10:55 am

evanadine: f8- is found at bottom of a book, etc that comments on or cites a reference- combo of two words in puzzle

10:59 am

thanks, got the F8 too. now i just gotta get the C7 and ive got all the biggies. :)

11:00 am

Missed your post Hi there...

12:02 pm

mzhokie - p4/9 Any clues on the p5/9?

12:05 pm

I heard somewhere that they publish previous puzzles' word lists... is that true?

12:07 pm

Leila 5 letter words are double the letter points - so how can you get a nine pointer from 5 letters?

12:08 pm

P5/9 isnt possible...must be a typo...

12:09 pm

Ah yeah, good point. I only asked as mzhokie said they had one, but I guess it was a typo and we're actually looking for the same one

12:10 pm

Jera, click on archives at the top, then shoose the puzzle. when it comes up, click on the name of the person with the highest score to see their wordlist.

12:11 pm

Leila, I don't think there can be a p5/9 if there is a p4/9. But there is a po5/14... Jera, if you go to yesterday's puzzle and click on the person with the highest score, you will get a list of all of yesterday's words. You can do this for any number of back games.

12:11 pm

Thanks!

12:12 pm

12:12 pm

my mistake it was a p4-9...sorry about that

12:15 pm

12:18 pm

How does one know how many words are possible? I've found 80 thus far.

12:20 pm

I've got po5/14x3. Are there anymore?

12:20 pm

CadFan -- there are babble-solving programs. some people have them set up in such a way that they can find all the counts (we call them stats) without actually seeing the answers. that way, we know what we are looking for.

Hi all! Moozey, karenh, anj- want to get the group hug over and done with now so I can start finding words? :)

Dr Anj prescribes smarties, 10 to be taken every 15 mins with tea :) I'm in mortal combat with the Fs at the mo, and they are winning just now :(

1:17 pm

1:24 pm

I've got an e4 and an e5. What else is there?

1:25 pm

Aaah, thanks guys! How are you doing with todays grid?

1:26 pm

Hello, all - I'm new to Babble (this is only my 2nd game), though I'm a long-time fan of Boggle. Am I correct in interpreting such cryptic abbreviations as L7/52 as a 7-letter word beginning with 'L' whose value is 52 points? Also, I saw that someone had written "no I have all the other words just looking for an s4 ". Is there a list each day that gives the number of words to be looking for, and what kind they are?

1:26 pm

Moozey- james blunt is on bbc2!

1:27 pm

Oh well, gotta scoot, Girl Scout pool pary. The A's beat me. Hopefully can do some more tonight. Have fun, people!

1:28 pm

1:32 pm

1:32 pm

jrs - that's it in a nutshell. Scroll down the posts for a list of today's words. They get reposted regularly...

3:09 pm

dork59072, think getting medievil on a steak with a tenderizer :) Comfort doesa the same thing on clothes but it's not as much fun...

8:29 pm

hi swimmy

8:30 pm

Any clues for the ce7?

8:32 pm

Hi Cali!

8:33 pm

Oh, and if it's a plural of the ce6, that won't help, because I don't have that either :)

8:35 pm

I have a ce4 and that's all!

8:39 pm

Got it! Amy, think slang for a $100 bill, with an "e" added, and then make it plural. Funny how I sometimes seem to find something just after I ask!

8:39 pm

Hi Callie! Anybody remember this line from Sesame Street: "Anybody got a used 'u'???" I have had it running through my head since I started playing Babble LOL

8:42 pm

Any clues for the p7 and p8 please! Thanks

9:07 pm

Gwen, st4/4 is something you make gin from. Its plural is st5/10

9:10 pm

What is the st5/10 that means olde quit? Can you elucidate?

Clues for the st6? I have all 3 st5s, but can't figure out how to make any plural!

9:22 pm

pk, how can that be? the po5 I mean...

9:23 pm

melissamay - st6 sounds like a word meaning 'robbed' but with a different second vowel

9:23 pm

Soory, I twisted my eyes a bit and got it, thanx!!!

9:24 pm

swmbo - ?. d'ya mean how can it be a word, or d'ya need another clue? ;-)

10:12 pm

Reprieve! Left the way too hot computer room pc and have my laptop propped on (what else?) lap while cool breezes blow across the room and the Daily Show with Jon Stewart is distractingly funny! Maybe, maybe I can finish...

10:13 pm

10:15 pm

swmbo - also watching Daily Show! My possible future senator is scaring me!

10:15 pm

10:21 pm

I have the so6/27 Tweeds, but thanks anyway. The elusive oo/4 is one letter away from Babble not liking one of your answers.

10:23 pm

lo6/18 - plural of lo5 that could win you cash

10:24 pm

to 4 4 x 8 to 4 7 x 1 missing 3. which? still can't find that elusive so 5/16

10:25 pm

at6/18 - plural of at5 meaning coral island

10:28 pm

Gwen, s5/16 can be compounded with sayer, to form a word meaning fortuneteller. And if someone could give me the ce5 that's *not* about badgers, I'd be very happy!

10:29 pm

Hi all...back from work & dinner.....any clue on the last t5?
