And D6: what they call you then. ;)

2:16 am

There are 2 x R8, by the way. R8/90 and R8/85.

2:21 am

can you give the 2nd letter for the 9 please?

2:24 am

I have the 9... :) beware Brits, it's US spelling!

2:25 am

can you give the 2nd letter?

2:25 am

de9/72

2:26 am

That would be e. ;-)

2:26 am

Thanks!! :-)

2:26 am

Nice work, GingerUK! I am dutch and was taught the british spelling, but US spelling is what we see most on TV and such... so I get confused sometimes and just enter anything that looks remotely like a word, LOL.

2:27 am

I'm with you Sprite... especially towards the end of the puzzle!

2:32 am

Any clue for the de9?

2:33 am

Sprite posted a good clue at 1:32am!

2:34 am

Yes, but I'm still clueless!

2:46 am

U7/32

2:46 am

Hugabug - if someone gave me the meaning of that word it owuldn't help me at all - so think a type of exercise - that will get you in the right direction.

2:48 am

Dianne - That was enough for me to get it! Thanks :o) d7/40

2:53 am

Finally got the 9. I'm American and it still jars me to see things spelled that way! Maybe it's because I spent some years in the Netherlands growing up.

3:03 am

hugabug - got the d7/40. thanks for letting meknow it was there.

3:03 am

Did something happen to the clock? Mines reads 1 minute left.

3:07 am

I've got R8/85, R8/90 and i8/60. Any hints on the other two 8 letter words?

3:07 am

hint on I 8/60 would be much appreciated... I have given up on the d 9 word for now

3:08 am

3:20 am

do you walk a lot ??? I think a horse may become my next mode of transport. I can not see myself on a bicycle. LOL LOL

3:21 am

I don't go out much. A tank usually lasts me about a month or so.

3:23 am

you pay a LOT less for your petrol/gas than we do here!!!!!

3:24 am

I 8/60 nailed to the puzzle tree thanks to all

3:25 am

I agree, I don't think you realise just how cheap your fuel is compared to the rest of the world, I am trying to cycle as much as possible to be "green" and save fuel so our kids don't inherit a dead planet.

3:25 am

costs me about 87dollars to fill my tank, luckily I work from home so it lasts quite a while

3:26 am

It's still cheaper in the US

3:27 am

Blaze... what's the 2nd letter please? Better clue maybe??? I think I know the begining but losing the end!!!

3:30 am

3:46 am

Ugh! I've been searching for I words, and I was just at his concert tonight! Sheesh!

3:53 am

I been doing that and it worked just fine now I only get the grid and the chat it was ok on the babble site until today( it stopped on the beta site a few days do I need to o something different. it looks like it will work cos the bit I drag across goes blue and it works on other sites

4:06 am

does some one have the second letter breakdown for the I's or any other letter ??? :P

4:06 am

I have the j5/26, can anyone help with the other j?

4:19 am

Thanks FMitch and morning Bobsta!

4:26 am

damn customers, gotta go back later

4:26 am

Morning folks :) ...and today's icon is... ;)

4:27 am

Blaze - it reflects the grid

4:28 am

Hi Anj- I like it! :)

4:29 am

Hi Lola :) This grid looks to be a bit of a beast...

4:30 am

Just started Anj, but I think the term beast may be too kind :(

4:30 am

PS what does it say on the bottom of your icon?

4:32 am

'you're despicable!' Couldn't say anything else really lol

4:34 am

hello everyone, could you have a clue to the de9, pleeeeease?

4:34 am

4:45 am

5:02 am

Morning Babblers.......nice pics....how much is the dollar to the pound? Anyone know?

5:03 am

Anj - He was awesome. He still knows how to rock and get the crowd going. I saw Def Leppard 2 weeks ago. They were really great too.

5:04 am

Don't forget Iggy at Reading Fest...apparentely he wasn't that good

5:05 am

were,s the stats can,t get them

5:05 am

Hugabugs, Anj- Nooooooo! I'm soooo jealous!

5:06 am

Anj- btw, I saw the cult in SA on the same bill as Lenny Kravits and the Googoo Dolls, odd mix but very good :)

5:06 am

look at your s5/12 and add a prefix to give you the u7/32

5:07 am

FMitch - I don't have an S5/12 :o(

5:08 am

physical state

5:09 am

FMitch - But I do now! and the U7/32. Thanks

5:12 am

Cheers hugabugs - will look forward to that. Lola, never seen Kravitz but wouldn't mind a listen Morning Bear :)

5:13 am

Hey Anj.......much better this morn....ended up having a pint with Dave last night...good de-stresser

5:13 am

Anj- he was last on the bill and maybe I'd just partied too hard to all the other bands but I thought he was a bit of an anti-climax.

5:15 am

lola100 - those are the same 3 that I have - what are we missing?

5:16 am

lola, could i have a clue on re8/90, please..

5:16 am

5:17 am

is there a clue to go with that....???

5:18 am

Blaze sl6/27 and do it again=u8

5:19 am

Ah memories. Cult, Finsbury Park '92. L7, Pearl Jam, Mercury Rev, PJ Harvey, Redd Kross, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Mega City Four...and they are just the one's I can remember. 4 stages, well over 30 bands, £17.50 You'd pay that for a burger nowadays lol :)

5:19 am

Blaze sorry clue should read don't do it

5:21 am

Sorry haven't woken up properly yet

5:23 am

me neither...what's the 2nd letter Bear??? Prett please with, er, ice & a slice ;)

5:23 am

I am not getting that one at all..... I do not have a sl 6/27 yet...

5:23 am

thear, i just got all that.. you won't believe i had the s5, but didn't notice the past tense. got both of them, thanx!

5:24 am

Valeritz- re8/90 is the past tense of re7/64. You will do this (an be an re8/85) when you find the word as you will be happy :)

5:24 am

NO probs

5:25 am

good words here today....much more fun

5:25 am

hahaha...whoops. OK, got that u8...er, my clue was accidental..honest!

5:26 am

Anj- you've seen pj harvey and pearl jam, ooooh! We had only just started to get the international acts coming over in '92.

5:27 am

nailed another to the puzzle tree thanks tbear

5:28 am

Lola, yes but they were just breaking at that time. Therapy? were on the bill as well. Best band was Redd Kross for me, although MC4 ran them a close second on the day :)

5:29 am

Right, i'm outta here for now. Catch y'all later :)

5:31 am

My fav has to be Depeche Mode as I was a fan for years. They were one of the first big acts to come out and I just never thought I'd get to see them. On a smaller scale, I got to see the violent femes at a lucky strike promo but they were awesome :)

5:31 am

thanx lola.. yeah, i forgot the past tense again. :D

5:33 am

does that ti 6 and 7 have an r in the word ??

5:34 am

morning all

5:35 am

OK Anj.....more G&T jokes....haha....Off to work now.See you later x

5:38 am

Anyone got stats for this puzzle?

5:48 am

Thanks jeronimo!

5:48 am

pleasure

5:50 am

My other half was on here last night completing the puzzle (not posting on message log though). He said something about Dr_God's ideas to make this more of a forum with profiles and all that. Anyone know if that's going to happen?

5:53 am

morning all - just a quick check in - is anyone still having problems with the layout?

5:55 am

not here, Denny

5:56 am

hmmm, not sure what to do cos when i go to the stats, they're not very clear either. tried to down load a different browser last night but it didn't go according to plan!

5:56 am

Hi Denny, been looking out for you! I fixed the problem by refreshing on the babble home page before logging in. Also wiped off babble address in my favourites and started again. Hope this helps :)

6:00 am

Thanks Lola, tried it but no joy - however, firefox has downloaded properly now so am on that! I can play properly now!

6:03 am

Good! I couldn't have played with the screen all funny like that either. Was very relieved when I managed to fix it but must say my computer is "cleaner" than it's ever been! :)

6:10 am

Well now i know it's working i feel much better - although need to figure out how to have more than one window in firefox so i cn see my dictionary at the same time rather than having to switch! any hints gratefully received!. gotta go cos lots to do happy babbling babblers!

6:15 am

Need one more 8 - have i8, u8 and r8 x 2. What's the last one - nayone know?

6:21 am

i have no words above 6 letters yet!!!

6:24 am

Morning everyone! Yuck! Over 200 words right before the long weekend!

6:27 am

morning jen

6:28 am

over 200 words oh pooh in pants is Dr God making up after yesterdays manageable puzzle

6:32 am

Yep, still have everything centered. Although the format is next to impossible to read, the larger text is much easier. Firefox is a great browser, but all my mail and other bookmarks are on AOL. So, I endure.

6:33 am

i thought bookmarks transferred from explorer to firefox? mine did!

6:34 am

anyone else have problems with Firefox just crapping out and losing all your bookmarks? Ours has done it 4 times now!

6:37 am

Gwen- I refreshed on the babble home page before logging in and it's been fine since then.

6:50 am

227 words today? i dunno if i have the energy to try... hehe

7:01 am

Can I please get some hints on the j's?

7:02 am

Hi Evanadine, you know you're gonna try.....lol!

7:05 am

Mickie, both are je and one is plural of the other.

7:08 am

je5/26: a blunt javelin.

7:09 am

Hello all, hope everyone is having a good day!!

7:09 am

Jen - Jen, yes Firefox did that to me (lost all my bookmarks) about 3 months ago. My son said I 'must have done something'. Now I know I didn't! Thanks.

7:11 am

Morning baggo! Nope, Jacula, not your fault! :)

7:12 am

can't find the singular of the je5

7:12 am

the je5 is the singular... plural is je6

7:13 am

moozey, google the def. and fiddle with the letters that come up.

7:13 am

i dunno...i almost cried when i had to come into work today...the BF got the day off and i was planning on being *sick* today...then he found out yesterday that he was gonna hafta go in for a few hours and i decided to come in after all...so im just mentally not here...heh

7:13 am

but youre right lola, ill probably give in. ;)

7:16 am

ahh, i see dr_god implemented the chat log limit to 50 messages... here, here! its so nice to be part of a site where the admins actually listen to the users! :D

7:18 am

der I thought it was je4 and 5 not je 5 and 6 LOL

7:19 am

afternoon all:) r8/85

7:19 am

Thanks!

7:20 am

sherb make it past tense.

7:21 am

macadam - fantastic! why didn't I see that? :)

7:22 am

I have the r8/90, but not ther8/85... any hints? I'll swap clues. ;)

7:24 am

the r8/85 is the person that does it and the r7 is what they do the r8/90 is what they did.

7:24 am

woo - 2 words, 175 points, only 225 words to go...gonna have to make coffee first... Jen - r8/85 someone who is delighted :D

7:24 am

I keep wanting to type 'doldrums'. LOL.

7:25 am

Cool thanks! Didn't even think about that one!

7:30 am

Just found the last 8: di8/55, consisting of two parts or segments :)

7:33 am

Anyone have the 9 yet?

7:34 am

its a d9/72

7:34 am

Cool Mitch, thanks

7:36 am

sorry about the double post

7:37 am

Missing two 7's. I have: de7/40, ei7/40, re7/64, ti7/40, un7/32. Any ideas?

7:39 am

Learnt from Dr_God yesterday that it may show like we post twice to you but it only shows as 1 ot everyone else, cos every time I post it doubles!

7:40 am

I seem to have lost part of the log (although maybe things have changed on here?) Can someone please post the word breakdown again? Ta

7:41 am

Thanks mitch. I feel better. :o)

7:41 am

jooboz there is an option "show all messages" in the green bar just under where it says chat log

7:43 am

Doh FMitch, thx for that!

7:45 am

NP, there ahve been a lot of changes in the last 36hrs!

7:48 am

Anyone got all the u's I am missing one, got 5/14, 8/55, 6/21, 7/32, 4/4.

7:49 am

hiya.... am missing the last "O" I have: oi 6/18 oi 4/4 om 4/6x2 ou 4/4 What am I missing?

7:50 am

ol4/4

7:54 am

Thanks Jen... feel silly. :)

7:55 am

no prob! Your list helped me finish the Os too!

7:55 am

u6/27

7:57 am

thanks macadam - will go search

8:01 am

FMitch - You need a u6/27

8:02 am

just can't see it guys - 2nd letter or a clue or even better both as its Friday :)

8:04 am

Fmitch un joins an m4/7

8:04 am

Missing three e's, please help :) ec 4 6 ei 7 40 em 4 6 em 4 6 er 4 4

8:04 am

it's a un.. to take something out of a form. Now, can I have a clue on the un7/32? :)

8:05 am

un and so5

8:06 am

Thanks Jen take the s5/12 and ad the prefix, that will give you the u7/32 :)

8:09 am

8:09 am

Tanks macadam but don't have that m yet

8:10 am

Thanks... although I don't have the s5/12 yet

8:12 am

s5 - of definate shape or volume

8:12 am

fmitch, your M is something that you pour something into to make it take shape

8:12 am

yee haw, thanks... that also leads to another 5/12 if you mix up 2 of the middle letters.

8:15 am

got loads of little'uns but clues for u8/55?

8:18 am

evanadine all I can say is Doh! and thanks

8:20 am

either I'm getting dummer or these babbles have been getting harder these last few days :)

8:21 am

any hints on the D9?

8:21 am

I'm working on the D9 myself :o)

8:21 am

ok, i keep seeing nimrod, which is what i feel like..8D

8:22 am

think of a way you can buy a pop and put a prefix on it, it's a measurement

8:22 am

EvaNadine and Moozey... think weights and measures with the US spelling.

8:22 am

Moozey -- On the u8 -- if it's not cut, it's ...

8:22 am

think of 10 pops.....

8:23 am

or should i say "soda" depending on where you are from

8:23 am

lola 100, ed/4 5 and ed 5 16, don't know the other one yet

8:25 am

ec4/6

8:28 am

Good morning, all!

8:28 am

thanks Cathy

8:29 am

Morning all. Can't say I'm wild about this new chat layout. Seems harder to read to me.

8:29 am

crikey, i am *SO* not seeing the D9...i think i have the right prefix, its just the rest thats not coming to me

8:30 am

Does anyone have a hint for the F?

8:30 am

nevermind, i found it...just never heard it put together before...hehe

8:31 am

ub- it means nimble, but makes me think of Tinkerbell

8:31 am

evandine, think 10 followed by US liquid

8:31 am

EvaNadine.... prefix for 10 and US spelling of just over 2 pints

8:35 am

Hi ubgrud,think tinkerbell.

8:36 am

I thought just over two pints in US was a quart :o( I'll struggle on, it is going to be one of those slap forehead moments, I can tell

8:36 am

Howdedoodleydoo! :)

8:37 am

moozey - we don't buy pints of milk anymore, we buy.....

8:37 am

Hey Anj!

8:38 am

moozey, you don't buy cans of soft drinks you can buy 2.....

8:38 am

think bottles of soda pop, not cans...

8:39 am

if its not cut its UNCUT aaagh!!!

8:39 am

anymore clues for the U8, still having trouble finding it

8:39 am

why doesn't "tierod(s)" work?

8:40 am

Hi Fmitch :) How is today's beastie? I've been away for a few hours and it still looks nasty :(

8:40 am

got it its as in bread, i was thinking more on the lines of cloth

8:40 am

U8... the greatest thing since.... bread. Before that, it was U8.

8:40 am

you use a "..." of bread to make a sandwich

8:41 am

I'm feeling pretty embarrassed just about now lol

8:41 am

oh luv!! : D

8:42 am

u8..... thanks v much, feeling stupid !

8:43 am

That's odd. The U8 is a word but minus the last letter it isn't a word. I would have thought it would accept both.

8:45 am

I've been out sick for a couple of days, so I'm just now seeing the changes to the site. On the whole, they're great, but I'm not such a fan of limiting the chat log to the most recent 50 entries - for those of us who log in later in the day, we can't see the word list, nor can we take advantage of the earlier clues. Is there any way to access the older portion of the log?

8:46 am

Minski -- without the last letter, its not really pissible, is it? thats not the kinda thing you can go back and undo...hehe

8:46 am

click on show last 50 messages

8:46 am

I think "un" words, at least in a verb form" are only valid for actions that can actually be undone.

8:46 am

jrs - you can see the whole log if you change to show all chat in the dark green line under the word Chat Log

8:46 am

jrs -- its defaulted to only show the last 50 messages, but you can click "show all messages"

8:47 am

yeah...........yeah......details.............details.....

8:48 am

hints on the ti7/40 anyone? I'm not seeing it.

8:50 am

Can anyone please give me a hint as to the last 8 letter that I am missing. So far I have I, R x 2 and U.

8:50 am

Sorry, Dr. God. With all due respect to your brilliance, I do NOT like this layout of Babble. Much preferred previous set-up. Also, I have not option to "show all chat".

8:50 am

No matter what I do, I just can't get Babble to get uncentered in AOL. Tried rebooting, refresh, log-in, clear cache, refresh. Gonna go back to playbabble and see if it works better than beta. That grid was a doozie today!

8:51 am

Gwen, i'm roadtesting mozilla firefox at the mo and it's running really smoothly :)

8:51 am

Gwen there is only one site now regardless of which url you enter

8:52 am

I adore Firefox. best one around.

8:52 am

MadX, missing the D/8

8:52 am

Got it... I hate it when things have no definition!! >:)

8:52 am

Thanks, everyone!

8:52 am

Yesterday someone else was having troubles with AOL. I think their solution was to run babble in internet explorer without using AOL.

8:53 am

Judi you can see all messages look at the dark green line that has Last Refreshed on it, there is an option to look at all meessages or last 50 messages you need to click on all messages

8:53 am

Thanks Gwen!

8:53 am

Jen: For ti 7/40 - Third position from which a parry or thrust can be made in fencing.

8:54 am

Thanks for the tip, Moozey, but I'm not seeing that option on my last refreshed green line.

8:54 am

oh heck there is a D8??? I've only just found the D9 haha

8:55 am

Could I please have a clue for the Ei 7/40?

11:12 am

well, poo! *pouts in the corner*

11:13 am

Dr God, I put in the word more, it accepted it, but it is not showing up in the word list to the right.

11:13 am

I had to do a shift reload to get it to show (I even added words since to see if the list would auto correct)

11:14 am

mtnjock- Refresh your browser and it will appear. Let me know if it keeps happening though.

11:14 am

that happened to me, w/a diff word, and it eventually showed up.

11:15 am

Dr_God - Is there a way to view the previous posts from the chat that doesn't appear any longer?

11:16 am

Hugabugs -- click on "show all messages" on the dark green bar

11:16 am

I'm also adding a more obvious link at the bottom of the chat log as we speak.

11:22 am

Jacula- Excellent! You can send it to feedback(at)playbabble.com

11:22 am

Jacula, I came here from that page too - rue the day I tore it out LOL

11:22 am

11:23 am

FMitch - I think we all do (or at least our loved ones do). LOL.

11:23 am

Me too

11:23 am

heh, i was just referred by a friend...

11:23 am

Okay, Dr_God. Will do a bit later. Probably have to be in 2 halves to fit on scanner.

11:24 am

ooh, maybe thats another idea....some kinda referral reward system...course, since the pro babble fee is so low, and one-time-only, i dunno what the reward would be....hehe

11:24 am

wish mine was from a paper, mine was from my brother, who said it was a way to wind down after work. both of us being nurses this does help after a rough day...bless you oh omnipotent surgeon...;)

11:24 am

It's the UK Babblers' Anon Club. :-)))

11:24 am

i've spent the day cleaning the house so that when my husband comes home for the weekend tonight, he won't think i've spent all week playing!

11:24 am

I got hooked from the Mediadomain message board. Addicts are the best pushers.

11:24 am

I gave up smoking a while ago but can I give this up, oh noooooo

11:25 am

what a bunch we are :)

11:25 am

i keep seeing the need help with stats line and think it should say need help with words as these last ones today, for some reason are killing me...

11:26 am

That's funny, FMitch, because a couple of days ago I was wondering if I could use Babble as a method of giving up smoking. You know, have 10 mins of Babble instead of a cigarette.

11:26 am

haha jacula....there is no just 10 minutes of babble!!

11:27 am

Now there's a good testimonial: "I used Babble to quit smoking."

11:27 am

jacula, can you just stay 10 minutes???

11:27 am

I was 40 a day but did it with patches (NHS campaign), babble could work - so compulsive you forget everything else!

11:28 am

dr god, my husband does thank you cause he no longer has to get the stats for me before he goes to work in the morning...:)

11:28 am

thank you for the repost evanadine another B****y customer so i've just seen it. right, i can sell something later lets get back to the serious stuff.

11:35 am

Dr_God: I can see the "show all messages" on the green bar, but nothing happens when I click it (no more than 50 messages). Does it work only for pro babblers?

11:36 am

Bobsta, by high end do you mean you have amps the size of a matchbox that sound like Motorhead's back lline? :)

11:37 am

something like that except the amps are built into the speakers themselves and they're about the size of 3 matchboxes

11:38 am

Dr_God the improvements are great. I work in a psychiatric hospital and playing Babble helps keep me sane. Everyone there knows not to ask me anything until I have my puzzle run off. Love this game.

11:39 am

thats it, i'm closing up. going to the dogs for the first time tonight. chat to you all tomorrow guys

11:39 am

11:44 am

Everyone have a great weekend, i'm off to pack and leave for michigan....bye

11:45 am

Oops! My bad. I left the chat log limit at 3 instead of 50. Refresh your browsers to set it back to 50.

Anj- this one has been hard work from the start :(

3:41 pm

Lola I know the feeling... I am sure that I could not use most of the words I have learned in a sentence for a word of the day challenge LOL

3:42 pm

Blaze- be warned: if you do start using them someone may have you put away in a nice comfy room where the walls are soft!

3:43 pm

Blaze, practise saying 'wibble' now while you have a choice :)

3:43 pm

I am raising my 16 year old grand daughter and look forward to those accomadations quite frequently LOL

Just discovered this game, but wondering if I need to pay the $ to join and get the clues?

11:45 pm

You can get clues off the chat without joining - but to get the letter grid, you have to pay $9.95 lifetime fee (I think)

11:47 pm

Patact welcome to this great puzzler..... I think it is the pro-babble that requires $... The chat log is great for getting clues etc..... Is someone more knowledgible awake out there to better answer this... Or you can email Dr_God the icon on the right lower part of your web page

When you upgrade does it happen straight away?

11:53 pm

Yes - the upgrade happens immediately

11:54 pm

Cheers cbr.. I must of done something wrong then! <<wanders off to try again!

11:54 pm

Then you will get the ti word for three at fencing

11:55 pm

Don't forget to refresh your screen - that could be the problem

11:58 pm

When I try and upgrade I put in all the details and press the upgrade button at the bottom and it comes up with "Column 'email' specified twice"..any clues anyone?????

11:59 pm

hold down the alt key as you press refresh

11:59 pm

You should e-mail Dr. God - I might have had an initial problem but it ultimately worked
