Hi sprite :)
Hello. I've found some-one who puts up large (400+) old maps. Good to do
liz, not so much patience, but perseverance.

I'll look for them - thanks.
hi Flosey
hi lyn

heard your news re the hydro, rose, awesome!
I missed that Rose - what's happening with the hydro?
since are roads are passable for now, Iam taking my sister into town to go walking in the stores for exercise
That's great Pugs - sounds like conditions there are easing.
a snow for saturday 1-3 inches but then 40's and rain, so its getting better
Hopefully the worst is over.
looks like rose is distracted by another squirrel, lyn. She got the ok for hydrotherapy.
I hope so--its been a long cold and snowy one for sure
That's awesome news - happy for her.
rain and 40s is good, pug!
Are you getting as much rain as they are in the UK, sprite?
it is and then mud mud mud! lol
at least, Liz. But we are better equipped to deal with it. It is always very wet weather here.
lolol...i am back...and yes i have approval for hydro. seeing physio next monday, will find out then when i can start. * doing happy dance, in my head*
Yay for Rose!
Is granny collecting nuts?
warm water will do you so much good, rose. Am so glad!
Is the 10 a compound word?
hi ruru, all but the collecting, I think
lol sprite!
yes Lizlin
sort of, Liz. Prefix plus a word
Hi Diz
Thanks Diz - how's your hubby?
liz, am watching the news. an 11 year old on access visit, was beaten to death by his father with a cricket bat...at the oval where he was playing a match. it has brought too many memories back.
hi dizgrannie
has anyone had an angiogram (spl?) where they put dye in your groin up to your heart?
OMG! That's awful, Rose :(
yup, diz. what do you want to know?
omg rose, how horrible
dizgrannie: no I haven't, sorry. Is that what they will do with your husband?
rose, hubby has to have one and I thought I'd ask instead of googling
in10, bury + ele***nt, large animal + wind direction, not north-west
Isn't there a better way to the heart. .than through the groin?
through the stomach, I have heard, ruru, but only with males
yes, there is ruru, through the radial artery
apparently not Ru
Thanks Rose!
hey guys/gals don't confuzzle me, stressed enough...lol
i had my angiogram through my radial artery, diz. whoever told you that is a fibber
I am going to have nightmares now
sorry dizgrannie, you are right.
so, diz, what did you want to ask?
where is the radial artery
in the wrist, diz
Near the ?
Michelin vein..
nah Rose, the cardio said thro the groin and pointed.
lol Ru!
artery, ruru, artery
it can be done through both, diz.
My groin aches just hearing that
Ru, you groanin bout ya groin
sorry, couldn't help meself...lol
hey, you can end up with balls the size of a grapefruit...what's your problem?
all michelin talk makes me so tyred
all that*
just kidding, diz. hubby must do exactly as the staff tell him, and he will have no problems.
I guess my balls would have a "zest" for life then
only issue i had, was that the iv cannula was in the same hand. didn't like the pressure over that site as well as over the angiogram site.
Or if they were just the size of oranges..I would be closer to a screwdriver
thnx Rose, he has to take it easy, normal stuff and non of me chasing him around the house in my maids outfit....grrrr
awww dizgrannie :(
lolol...diz...you never!!
diz, when is this happening?
* note to self install drop cam at diz'...house
now now, rose, they are entitled to a tiny bit of privacy over the maid hunting and stuff.
6 to 8 weeks depends on hospital
will keep fingers crossed, dizgrannie, that it is soonest
I love woman in maid outfits :D
awww. what a spoil-sport, you are, spritey!!
Rose could loan them the doctor and nurse stuff-lol
just sayin', grin. I mean, we know the what, we know the how, let's keep the when a secret :P

I must be totally insane. I am sitting here at 6 am doing English homework and re-writing Steinbeck's book Of Mice and Men. good morning everyone:)
Hello, Crossy, I am watching the winter Olympics & doing babble.
our Canadian girls kicked butt yesterday:))
I think they also top the medal tables..not sure though.
teacher had the last 15 minutes of the game on the big screen before we started in with our classes;)
timing is all wrong for many of us to see the Olympics, unless we go to night shift
mm, minus 11c . warmer today:))
I see that my favorite type of skiing is in the grid today. ap 5/12 :)
Hi kids.
Hahahaha, Crossy.
howdy, scrabby
We warmed up a lot yesterday, starting the day at minus 15F and ending at 24. It will get to 30 today.
we warmed up as well. from minus 19c to minus 11 c this morning
and I see the daytime high is to be minus 4c . almost balmy:)
How is the ski resort doing? Good business from the citiots?
yup. the citiots are filling our emerg waiting room with a wide variety of broken bones. Us locals drive 45 minutes to the next town for treatment now
we will revisit our own hospital come spring:)
Ugh. The hospital should increase the number of staff during this season.
we just do not have enough bone specialists. we have 3. one that should of retired last year and the other two are fresh meat and just starting into their second year in the trenches
Ugh. And it takes time to get casts on or do surgery, so other patients wait. They need PAs to assist.
what we need is a totally spate clinic at the base of the hiss to do nothing but cast broken ankles and broken writs of snowboarders
seperate
hill
wrists
I need a secretary to type my crap out:(
One of the local ortho groups established an office next to a ski resort--very smart!
I can decipher your words, don't fret.
yes, very smart indeed and it takes the pressure off the hospital
I am glad, scrabby I am getting tired of what the finnish refer to as " pilkunnussija" ( I will let you research that word) lol
Well, I found 102 words, and now must get ready for work. I am on-call tonight so must field all questions from the triage nurses and view all incoming lab and X-ray reports. Grrr.
poor scrabby:((
but its literal meaning is a hoot!
I like that word! Attention to detail is important at times and irrelevant at others. I know to what you refer.
I liked that word so much, I have it on notepad so I can recall it at need;)
Hahaha. I had ignored the literal translation and went to th defintion. Hahaha! That will keep me laughing all day. Enjoy the day, my friend.
tc, scrabbs
Scrabs, are you feeling all better
Hi crossy
Still here, of course needing to find just one more word. Tired, no appetite, belly cramps, but much better! Weight loss is a benefit of this illness! Gotta go now.
Bich, are you buried yet? It looks like Siberia here.
Not yet, really just starting here.
Spoke to my mil in Richmond last night. She said that in her development they don't plow until there's at least 4". No wonder these Southerners have so much trouble
howdy, bichon
How is it up north?
lol,up here it is business as usual. all white, all the time and 3-4 inches of snow every other day. tad cold yesterday at minus 18 but getting mild now at minus 11c
They don't have as many plows down Richmond way as places in New England have.
When they get slammed hard they say it only happens once in a century.
scrabby, blow off your day and we will go snowshoeing
stats for bottom row r, pls
When I got up earlier, the snow was coming down in big glops. Now it has changed to fine flakes.

yes they are lovely too, we don't have them though
those flower bloom even with all the snow??
we seldom have snow here - when we do, it's usually just a smattering
the prairie roses that will eventually bloom alongside the prairie roads
ah..you live in the western part of Canada?
we live on the coast, there's lots of snow in the mountains of course, Whistler ski resort has lots
we're on a small island between mainland BC and Vancouver Island
always thought that area sounded so beautiful to live
it is lovely
hubby was born and raised here, left to go to U and taught in eastern part of BC (snowbelt there) then to Ontario for 30 years before retiring back to the farm where he was raised
nice!
re 6/18 clue please
o-o, are the prairie rose what we would call the wild rose the same - 4 or 5 petals? we do have them here on our island
re+ to work and gain money?

I'm still seeing tulips in a blue bowl
yes, cute one, Molly
must refresh
You will need to refresh, Flosey..i find shutting down babble and restarting it sometimes is quicker.
have done that twice
deleting tempory internet files will do the trick too.
ah, will close, delete, get a cup of coffee and return
I think it has something to do with cache files..but i am no expert on these matters.
ooh that has tempted me to make a cup of tea!..bbs
hi 218 to go. Guess I didn't get too far last night!

Boss texted me this a.m. Said roads were awful and to stay home. So here I am.
oh my, judi! i thought we only got 6. did you have sleet
All of my family: hubby, daughter, sil, g'daughter are home
Snow, sleet, rain and whatever Mother Nature decides to throw at us.
Judi here too Mother Nature sure is confused today
and yesterday
we had heavy sleet. the worst part is that it is going to crank up again tonight. i need to get downtown tomorrow AM
Dreading shoveling out the driveway. Hoping one of the neighbors comes with a snowblower rescue at some point.

THIRD column R help please?
but driveway is covered again.
bottm R sorry
Never heard thunder. Too busy sleeping. :-))
ah. sleep is not enough. this winter requires hibernation.
Well, that's what I was going for. Cats eventually interrupt any slumber.
funny, my cats say the same about humans.
oh yes, cats. if you tried to hibernate they would eventually eat you. :P

yps i am looking for the 10 as well
phan oops
I'm ok. We haven't got any snow - just wind
depends on who you listened too. some said up to 12 others said upto double that.
and of course i cannot remember where. brain is feeble today. butdon't you hate that it continues and screws up tomorrow
want some snow foffie ro would your prefer sleet?:)
and at least you got the interview in
in10 is a compound word. in5 +p5 :)
no no no wouldn't dream of depriving you!
Found the 10!

Frederick county, MD. Yes, it does screw up tomorrow. Hopefully we will be able to still enjoy our dinner reservations at the Comus Inn.
foffie you party pooper lol
moi?!!!!
phan my mom is in the washington metro area tehey are snowed in as well
foffie:)
Yes, I got the interview in. I wouldn't have gone today. It's one thing to get to work as a nurse, but to go out in this for a job interview, no thank you
In root word + first portion of weapon they use on Star Trek.
but it's so pretty -how could I deprive you of that?
Yes, DC got a good bit of snow too.
foffie sure is:)
I thought the roof was coming off yesterday - it's a lot calmer today
well i hope the interview bears fruit and you are out tomorrow for your dinner
I am not sure about that interview, I really don't think I did that well. But we will see.
Phan, I love The Comus Inn. I got married there.
judi root word as me confused?
Beautiful place to get married!
in5 = within.
is their a vowel in between root word and star trek weapon?
Their New Year's Day brunch is expensive, but worth every penny. Great food there.
No.
no there isn't
NEVER MIND TY got iy

Yay, MLF!
nbt
brb

Nice Valentine's Day menu.

Sounds like Phan already has reservations.
yes, we do.
oh i just keep saying dumb things today
RE9 I dont see any of the clues from a bit earlier can some help please?
no you sonr hurshy you keep typing them dont you?
saying in typing form yes
hurshy oh:)
No, worries, Hurshy. I say dumb things all the time... And it would probably be too late to get a reseveration at this point, so not dumb!
You should call them Phan. They are very nice folks there. I'm sure if you can't make it because the roads are bad they will give you a rain check.
I am sure too. I think by tomorrow evening roads will be passable. Frederick County is usually pretty good at getting the roads cleared.
tadone!! finito! hi everyone!
well done, lbd!
Congrats, DAWG!!!!
ty ty, a few tricky words but a doable grid.
And hey, any husband who makes Valentine's dinner reservations at The Comus Inn, is s keeper. : )
any clues needed?
well, they said re9 we add pa7, but i have only one pa7 and it appears to be the wrong one
aaaand i just found the right one
call me peri
well done, Hurshy, I mean, Peri!
So many Peris, so little time
Just broke 100. Time for a wee break. *POOF*
ok but i do NOT get the high level courtesan clue for an he8
lol hurshy/peri
Molly, I agree, he is definitely a keeper. I have had him 25 years come June
Not, June, July. Don't know why I keep saying June lately
the he7/8 one or the he 8 that is legal speak
cause june is a weddingy month?
the 7/8 one
he8...he + misspelled weeping unit + ** You Like It
Yes, but I specifically didn't want to be a June bride!
he 7/8 is a courtesan, refined one
I'm a june bride by one day. Hubz wanted it to be last payday and last day of the month...easier for him to remember. lol
lol
why didn't you want to be a june bride phan
that is funny!
Because it is the big wedding month. I like to be somewhat different...
i did not know that a) we could spell that he word with an e there instead of an i, or b) that that is what it meant
ok so that leaves one more re8 to complete the 8s
can I have a clue for the bottom R and the E above it too please
i have the thing that is like, i guess a clock has a re8
bottom r is ri4/4
e above it has the police aren't allowed to en6 criminals
thanks, Hurshy!
also makes mistakes
I guess the 9 is a plural? What word does it come from?
it's not, it is re
re pa7
got it! thanks, nbs/nbt, over 1/2 way! Might be time to get some food and then begin digging out.
so yeah i need the other re8 besides a parrot is a re8
so far that's all I have
A back and forth conversation. Witty re8
ty
nice clue!
ok, over and out.
must go switch out laundry and then get some other computer work done. see you all later.
it is funny how you only ever hear that word in that ph6. you never hear about boring re8.
byeee lbd
Or a tragic re8
bottom row grey!
clue for sp 8/50
MORE like a round ball
it's a real silly sounding word
My globe is sp8 than yours, neener!
I got the sp 6/24, know it has something to do with that but cn't figure out the ending
stuck on the 10 -- help???
it's cause you have to use the RIGHThand e first, followed by the bottom R, or you will not think you can make this word
the moon is between full and new, it's in10
every time the curling stones hit each other i think someone has made a popping sound by pulling the corner of their mouth with their finger.
Erda, it is a term in Mitosis as well
got it -- TY
*Gets out cell division books*
Thanks Molly for the sp 8 clue. Finally found it and fireworks.

hello TO
hi dos, sue, teachy
i have been cleaning out clothing whilst searching for my (never used) bathing suit.
who would have thought that the def for hello dolly was something so technical
TO - when you go out dancing, what kind of dancing are u doing?
what
hi sue
oh, he7
teach, i am doing mostly zydeco but also cajun and swing
cajun s my favorite
have seen nboth zydeco and cajun but don't know the difference - have you ever heard of the Augusta Heritage Dance weeks in Elkins WV - they feature both the music and the dance - iot goes for 5 weeks in the summer
no teach i haven't. do they feature louisiana music cajun has a different beat, uses fiddle vs. accordian, for starters
cajun will do more waltz and two step
they bring in instructors from all over the world - for Irish week, they bring in instructors from ireland - they will also featuringh vcajun cooking
so how much cajun and or zydeco is there
btw my swing teacher is lead of fiddlekicks cloggers.
btw my swing teacher is lead of fiddlekicks cloggers.
you sdign up to take classes for the five days - there are dances at night - and jam sessions all night - each week during the summer features a different theme
spern
our neighbors on the left snowplowed our sidewalk!!!
those are good neighbors, peri!
can you share them and have them come plow our walk - if it finally stops snowing today
they have not done it before.I shoveled the path in front of the door for the mailperson to get to the house. bro in law and I shoveled part of the driveway.
area in in front of garages still needs to be done and driveway needs to be finished. other neighbors teen age son did part of their side of the driveway.
but I am very grateful for the neighbor with the snowplow.
hi everyone.. peri, I made the lentil soup, added two T of red wine vinegar and a bunch of fresh sliced spinach.. also used the bay leaf per your suggestion.. turned out great! Serving it tonight.
Neighbors with a snow blower are good friends to have.
I am so glad to hear that
I made add the red wine vinegar and spinach the next time make it or even some kale.
yes, it needed a bit of "tang"
I made a Healing Soup from Alicia Silverstone's cookbook which turned out quite good.
i checked the site but did not see what type of dance except clogging and contra
Healing from like the flu or a bad cold?
for just whenever you are not feeling quite right
she has a website: thekindlife.com. I wonder if she has recipes on it. I will check. brb
TO - i googled augusta heritage cajun week - but it looks like most of the classes are music - have dances for all in the evening
Cajun week is Jul 6 - 11th this year
Dolly p6 is in the grid
thn aloy - saw it but didn't try it, thought it was just her name
lol, I know..
so general patton
hi Annie
Hi Aloy :)
if you change the last vowel on the General, you have a word
Aloy, I checked out the website and the recipe for that soup is not on it
i think that coincides with strawberry park festival in CT but not sure. come on up, we'll teach you!
rats, phaser doesn't work.. enable doesn't watch Star trek
does anyone else have the compulsion to do laundry when it snows? It doesn't matter how little there is, i need to do it. :/
nope, not me TO.. when it snows, I want to hunker down and read a good book
es 7, please?
or make bread
es + 1/2 is a **** of the wh*le
ty Aloy
ty aloy
ooh, glad you got it, wasn't sure how clear that clue was
mere
hee hee, have that one peri
last in 6, please?
nm - found it
io 6?
charged particle and not two
ty peri
bbs.. 27more
56 more, drinking some Echinacea tea and then will go out for round two of shoveling. I learned from experience it is best to do when the snow first falls.
6 more and stuck on all
last pr 5, please?
nm - got it
Well, the snow first fell here in the middle of the night, so there was no way for me to do that. Nothing like having a foot and a half of snow to clean off your car.
2nd re 6/18 please?
it did here do, Molly, I just don't want to wait to long while it is day light. it tends to turn icy
want reatone, but no dice
my car is covered
My son and I just put a dent in it, but there is no way the whole car will be shoveled out for days. We would both throw our backs out.
I bought this thing from a catalog which makes it easier to clean off my car. it has a long pole and an oblong thing at the end.
I have one of those too. We call it a broom. : D
and of course I have my scraper
haha
need a break -- bbl
this is not a broom. better than a broom
actually it is called a Sno Brum.
Well I try not to do too much damage to the broom. Otherwise I would have nothing to ride around on at night.
but there are no bristles.rather a hard sponge like material at the end
*puts a sock in it* :P
I cleaned about of foot of snow off my car and shoveled a small path (not too much shoveling) and got my car out. I went to get Bobby..no way he could get home in this weather under 2 hours.
wow.annie. take it easy. don't kids come around to shovel in your neighborhood
The buses are sporadic. DeBlasio (our brilliant mayor) should have closed the schools today. That way the workshop would have been closed and B. would have stayed home.
They do, Owl but they were in school when I needed the car.
wow
teach are you still here?
*Throws a snowball at TO* : P
Annie I can't believe your schools were open.
I cant believe it either. I voted for this guy. I want to say something else but then it will be in cyberspace forever.
just got back on - TO
I will fill in the blank with my own expletive of choice Annie : )
was away from keyboard, thanks, Molly. Make it a good one. I am going to write to this id5.
going to take a break
2nd re 6/18, please? or the re 5/14 that follows?
got the re 5/14
*ducks* Im quick, molly! :)
teach, my friend teaches african dance and just posted a link from her recent trip to guinea ( i declined going). i sent her the festival link since it said west african dance would be taught.
she is one amazing dancer.
nm got the 7 too
ok the fates are conspiring against my cleaning today...but at least i found my lost bathing suit and some other junk that needed to go out
so i am ready to go to warm climes! yippee!
they have a wide range of classes - i have gone to dulcimer classes there - but they have concerts and we are only an hour away and gone down for concerts and dances
sp 8, please?
"West African dance and Northern European step dances will be the focus of the courses this year, as they are some of the most significant (though by no means the only) influences in many American dance forms."
More like a globe...sp8
i can see the former but the latter not so much
ty molly - couldn't see that
It's kind of an absurd word
te 6/24, please (last one)

The re6 is to gain wages again

ugh. we are getting light rain here- started about 10 am ish id say- wind has died down. lucky :-) probably got about 6 inches- but packed down now with rain
turning off chog for a bit- i still have 80 word to find :D
packed on trees and wires as well ? that would be bad.
We are having light snow here ... but it does not seem any brighter
it seems to be stormy everywhere. wow. and as much as i hate to, i think i have to go outside to deal with the slush on the driveway. unless it is raining.
later, all. stay warm and keep babbling.
Be safe, TO

hi bichon
i'm loving your pic bichon
snowy it is here. Just got another 6" and more to come. Fluffies are not amused
i bet they aren't! anymore and they will disappear in it and their white coats won't help! i hope you and hubby and dogs are safe and warm
We are inside and warm
That is a good story L. Sounds like a fun brother.
good Bichon
We got about half of the car dug out. We will work on it some more tomorrow. It's a lot of work moving that much snow.
We got so much snow last weekend and now its 60 out and awfully slushy.
*Dreaming of 60 and slushy*
we've had bad storms and a bit of snow but the rain and winds are the worst here and apparently going to get worse!my husband is supposed to be on a ferry Saturday but there are alot cancelled, so they now have to get an earlier one.alot of work for the 2 drivers and they have to drive to Italy
No way I would want to be on a ferry in the winds you're having.
aye, he can be but selfish too, especially as he gets older Molly.i wish sometimes that we could go back in time
Where in Britain do you live Lili
i live in County Durham Bichon
it's in the North East
my husband works from Scotland
not in the fllooded area, right?
certain parts are.but we're not as bad as Somerset or the places in the South East.we do get floods here but, it's not always national news worthy, but still alot of family homes flood.where we live, we either get flooded or snowed in, or we get nowt
nowt?
by the way my husband has to drive form Scotland to Dover and that is where he is getting a ferry
Bichon, it means nothing
okay, I thought it was a new weather event I had never heard of.
it's a North Eastern and Scottish word
hi. I thought that was just an old Yorkshire word!
hi Mo, and a Yorkshire word:)
It must be more widespread than I thought.
Not too bad our end of the SR Lillian, tomorrow I am going from Dover to B'Ham, not looking forward to it. Mind you I'd rather do that than cross the Channel tomorrow, hope he has got his sickness pills!!
I meant SE not SR!
Don't people take the Chunnel
really Deeha, i wonder why the ferries have cancelled alot of the ferries then?apparently we're suppose to be in for more bad weather
i hate the tunnel Bichon.i get dizzy and sick. so i have to go on a ferry which takes longer
We have been having pretty strong winds. We had some today but as I passed the pier this morning it didn't look too bad. Not a good forecast for tomorrow tho'
Deeha, that's a canny drive, i've done that many times. well past B'Ham to Scotland.
Lots of Brits on here tonight
aye apparently, it's getting worse tomorrow and the weekend down your end.i think i need to ring my brother as he lives in Deal
Our driver tomorrow is pretty dodgy! It will be quite a white knuckle ride. Mind you the last time I went I was asleep before we got to the motorway and woke up as we left it at Birmingham so hope I can do that tomorrow!!!
hi Maisie, loving your dog. where in East Sussex do you live?
I live in DEeal too!
Eastbourne and we have escaped floods
Why do you have a driver Deeha?
*Makes tea and crumpets*
i'm glad to hear it maisie.i've been there once and liked it.i'm too far away now to visit
I don't drive. Iam going by train to Paddock Wood to meet two others going to an Annual Conference in B'ham
too late for that Molly :)
*Makes bangers and mash*
too late!!
by the way Molly, i hate bangers and mash!!
*Adds bangers and mash to the mushy peas list*
Deeha, i don't understand why you said your driver was dodgy then?
I like bangers and mash
'IGNORING MOLLY'
*Passes out brandy snifters*
Maisie, what breed is your dog?
Already got my brandy and coke thanks Molly
Because he will drive from Paddock Wood to B'ham. He drives straight out onto roundabouts without hesitating - luckily there aren't too many roundabouts on motorway
Yeah, we know what you have with your brandy, Chrissie. : P
He's a Cockerpoo. cross between a cocker spaniel and poodle
ahh, now i get it Deeha, you confused me. i thought you had a driver from your house, but you have to get to Paddock Wood first and meet people.saying that, from there with the way he drives i'm not surprised your a bit antsy
Cockerpoo? i've never heard of that, but i did think he had poodle
i grew up with poodles and they are a lovely breed
Very common here in the States
He looks very much like a labradoodle as he's quite big
so with the cocker spaniel bit, a bit scatty
He's a very affectionate dog, loves a cuddle
He sounds gorgeous
He is
Just seen the picture he is gorgeous but you will need to stop him smoking those cigars!
he looks really sweet and docile maise
lol Deeha
It does look like that but it was actually a child's plastic garden rake that he stole and ran away with
i like the yellow on his ears
How old is he Maisie
Today is my eldest child's 33rd birthday. Don't know how that's possible since I'm only 40! If I keep subtracting years and my kids keep adding them, eventually we'll be the same age!
Love it Mimi,
I am a bit like that. I have a twin sister but nowadays she is 12 years older than me!!
hi Mmi:)
Funny, Dee!
((lilliann))
Feel so bad for Jilly right now....it's awful when an elderly parent has health issues, especially from an accident.
lol Dee :)
what Mimi? i need to read back
She posted it in Babble Facebook. Her mother fell and now has several issues.
i don't go on fb anymore
well, i hoope she is doing ok
sorry, i need the loo
I don't very much but I get an em whenever anyone I know posts. Her mother doesn't want to leave her home so Jilly is having a hard time having her needs taken care of. She was unconscious for a time and has a concussion. They're going to watch her closely at home.
Going back to finish work....bye, all!
Jill was here about 3:13 Babble time so I'm guessing things are relatively okay.
bye Mimi and i hope all is ok
Deeha, are you identical twins?
hopefully so Molly
No don't really look alike at all.
I look like one brother my twin looks like the other and my elder sister linked us all
that is so cool
Deeha, do you not hav esome traits the same though?
Wonderful picture of the children, Deeha. The eyes ... wow.
Good news! I was just offered the job that I had an interview for yesterday!
that is great news phan!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i told you so!!! woo hoo!!!
Thanks! :)
hi Peri:)
Yeah for you, phandmd
hi, lil, hi all
Not bad are they!!
when do you start, phan. what kind of job is it?
An understatement, to be sure.
Don't have the start date yet, there are some formalities I have to go through, like the drug test and background check. Probably a couple weeks. It's an RN position in a nursing home
Deeha, is that your bairn? i love her eyes, she has the same colour of mine
ph6 pls
Well done Phan, i know you'll do well
ph6 is a form of grammar, as the old ph6 goes
Thanks, Lilli. I have to work on feeling confident in myself! Still feeling a little bruised over what happened with my last job...
ph6, it's sentence
Good for you Phan. Wash off that other experience and get on with the new one.
that's right, Molly. Only looking forward, not backward!
not getting the clues for the ph6
nm got it =, thank you
PHan, i've done your job, just be who you are.forget about the past and be the person you are with the people you care for.you can do it.the people you care for will trust you more if you a real person, so don't try to be something you're not as they will see through you!!
Thanks, Lilli :^)
Sorry PH I was concentrating. They are my granddaughters, didn't expect any now I have two - brilliant
it's difficult caring for people as they are all differnt but if you have the right personality you will be able to care for all sorts of personalities.i loved my job and really miss it
by the way, hi Peri and O-O
The li9ttle one is 15 months now and she is going to be a naughty one but the naughty one that always gets away with it because she is so cheeky and charming and has a real sense of humour
Damn, why did I not get the memo that L has become a life coach? : P
THink I will turn in now, early start in the morning. Have a good weekend folks. Bye
goodnight Deeha, have a good trip to B'Ham:)
By the way Deeha, it has been lovely to see you, take care hin :)
i'm adding it on my mam letter Molly:)
Wayne Dyer ain't got nothin' on you L
who
oops, who is wayne dyer?
He's an inspirational speaker and writer, you probably don't get him in UK land.
no, we don't, thankfully
nowt against people who like inspirational speakers but i'm not one on eo f them
does he get paid Molly?
good evening everyone:)
i said what i meant from truth as i've done that job and from heart. i cared for all the people i looked after, even the grumpy ones and they to me were the best ones to look after as i could get them laughing and we all had great times and laughs!
hi Crossy
a person who brings joy to others is a blessing.
It was a joke, L
it was nice to see a man have a smile or a smirk on his face after months of nothing and then i'd come along being cheeky and saying things that i propbably shouldn't but i did look after old sailors at one time so i got away with it :)
i know Molly, i was joking too:)
lol, my grammy was like that. old style English 4 feet 2 inches high and about the same around and fill if fire
full
the problem is American/English humour isn't the same
even as she got older, if my da gave any cheek, she would grab a kitchen char, get up on it, grab ahold of his ear and twist till he begged for forgiveness
chair
lol cross, that could have been my nan
she came to Canada just the once but I remember the things that astounded her most at that time were, Niagra falls, peanut butter and maple walnut ice cream lol
I worked at a dairy at the time, and had to bring her home a pint of ice cream every day for the length of her visit;))
and we gave her the first taste of peanut butter she had ever had in her life:)))
i like rum raisin ice cream, but we can't get it often
good memories
she was in her mid- 50,s at that time
60s*
anyways, I ramble on and on
my nan was 4 ft odd and couldn't cook at all.even when she cooked mushy peas with everything.all food was awful and i remember seeing my granda's face when we would eat
that was my welsh grandparents
lol, my grammy could make a 3 course meal out of a old rain boot and a box of buiscuits:)
she used to mail me a one pound note every year for my birthday:) never had the heart to tell her that the nearest foreign currency exchange to us was over 6 hour drive sough in Toronto
south
when we visited, i remember that we had comics on our beds and we's have dandeilion &bardock bottles
:)
I got Horlicks at bed time:))
Your grammy sounds like a good woman Crossy:)
that malted milk concoction;)
we got a raw carrot so we could see at night, just incase we needed the loo :)
*Had to look up Dandelion & Burdock*
aye, we still get horlicks here
hi all!
she was. she never forgave my dad though. at birth he was 14 pounds one ounce! must of split her from stem to stern to get him out of that tiny woman
suze!
wow, that is one big baby, crossy!
i loved it when i was younger Molly, but sickly as i've got older, the bairn likes it
it is indeed. never believed it till I got a peek at his birth cert one day
hi Sue, lovely to see you:)
hi lilli! Good to see you too!
Crossy, my nan use to buy me a ?for my bracelet(sorry, i can't think what you call it)
hello everyone from the wet and snowy northeast
ahh a charm?
hi annie!
howdy annie:)
hi sue, you have been having horrible weather too
how are you and Frank doing Sue?
I bought my beloved a nice charm bracelet last year
we are good, lilli!
hi crossy, lil, Molly and everyone
hi Annie
sue, that is wonderful news!!
and annie, we have had some cold and snow but today it is actually rather nice - got up almost to freezing!
but tomorrow it will cool off again and Saturday it will snow a little
that's it Crossy, i forget words, i normally just stop typing when i forget words as i get embarrassed but i knew someone would know what i meant :).both my nan's bought me charms every year for my birthday and i will pass it down for my daughter
never be embarrassed. I make enough typos for everyone:))
it's not typos Crossy, it's my memory
hi all, have an old charm bracelet worth a whole lot but never wear it cause it make too much noise
hi Mary. mine too with all you've said
sometimes i go to clue on here and then forget a word , so i don't
and now days, who cares? sad
i get really frustrated as i can see thing s in my head or i know a word but i can't say or type it
Charm bracelets have made a comeback. The charms are way more expensive though.
bought mine in the late 60's and most are 18K. Now what do I do with it??
*sigh* 3-6" overnight; 1-4" Saturday. calgon, take me away....
i know Mary, it is but i will keep it and pass it down to my bairn and hopefully she will pass it down. Last year with the price of gold i could have sold it for alot, as it was worth a good bit in the first place
Thursday = 50 but we know what that means...flooding.
Mary 18 carat gold is worth something.i don't know about your country but last year you could haver sold it for a good price as gols was very high. i won't sell mine as it means too much to me, but i could have sold it for alot, aswell as my nan's welsh gold wedding ring, and that is worht some but i will never ever sell that and i've worn it twice through 2 weddings
hi TO, i hope you are ok
my short term memory is terrible it happens to me a lot, Lillian. took me four tries to identify my pasta strainer as a colander the other day
gine lil and you?just weary. now i'll have to shovel in the am to get downtown. ugh.
the average silver charm here is 20 to 80 dollars each. the average gold charm is 400 dollars to a thousand
holy cow, crossy! Now I am very glad I am not fond of charms :-)
so, my beloved gets silver charms:)
my son and I get them for her b-day or other special occasions there is room for 9 charms on this and 3 fancy silver and ornate glass spacers
i'm so like that too Crossy but i even have long term memory
*loss
asked my son to get my laptop case the other day and I kept wanting to call it a suitcase or a briefcase;(
I was given a charm bracelet in the 50's. It weighs 9 ounces (heavy) and it was $50.00
The Pandora charms are popular around here. They look like Monopoly pieces.
well, that 9oz is worth a lot more than 50 dollars now
those are the ones she has, molly
i annoy my husband when he's home and the bairn as i say a word and then i say it's meaning...like babble and then it's 'give us a clue'!! :)
that's for sure
lol, lillian
howis your daughter, lil?
i don't like the Pandora type charms as we have now
Like Mary said, the charm bracelets make a lot of noise. And they catch on everything.
these pandors are a bit better as they do not literally dangle from a metal clip like the old ones, rather, the bracelet is actually threaded through the chams themselves
TO, the bairn is doing really well, thank you. she's had to choose her options for school for next year and i'm really proud of her
very nice!
pandora's
I had a charm bracelet in 2nd grade - the teacher asked me to take it off because it was noisy and I was so embarrassed that I never wanted to wear one again (to be fair, I wear very little jewelry of any kind now)
after last year and seeing her now, i can't believe how close we were to losing her
my better half saves wearing that stuff for if we are going out to someplace special and not for every day wear
A friend of mine just got a loaded Pandora charm bracelet from her Mom. Mom was very into collecting the charms, but her vision is failing and she can't see them anymore.
mm, a fully loaded one will have about 500-600 dollars worth of charms on it, even if all are silver
well, more, because each fancy spacer is 30-60 dollars
i prefer the charms i have than the pandora ones and i don't like the thick?well not even proper chain they are on. i like a charm on a proper linked chain
Sue, isn't it amazing how mean comments from teachers like that stayed with us for so long?
well, nice chatting but I should get a little homework done before I retire for the night. take care everyone and happy babbling
well, she wasn't even mean, Molly, she was very sweet and one of my favorite teachers; I was just embarrassed that I'd disrupted the class
bye, crossy!
Sorry, should have said embarrassing comments.
I don't blame her at all; I was a very sensitive child
they don't look as good as proper chain linked bracelets. i must admit they are better without the clinking but they look cheaper, especially the chains
goodnight Crossy :) tc
L, I don't like the Pandora stuff either.
me either (the Pandora stuff) - looks like a giant advertising gimmick to me
Good morning all :)
I think they are kind of gaudy, but my taste in jewelry tends to run toward simple gold chains.
hi liz!
hey liz
can I get a clue for the second te 6/24
hi Liz :)
I prefer simple gold jewlery too
Hi TO - how's the eye? Haven't seen you since it was done!
hi all, back to find my last 17 words.
we just had thunder and lightning here. very scary
and rain
Hi Peri
Annie, ends like the paper with the little boxes on it that you use for scientific stuff.
Owl, what happened to your eye?
I really don't wear bracelets at all; sometimes I'll wear a necklace or earrings, but I like things that are either quite simple or have been done by a craftperson
*Hands Peri her teddy bear and blankey*
its fine, liz! glad to have it over with. have not driven too much at night to test it yet.
Happy to hear that.
annie, i had cataract surgery.
Sue, I like the hand crafted jewelry too. I had some gorgeous willow tree earrings, but lost one. : (
Owl, now the drops begin. you will see much better but you already know that
ty for asking,liz
yw - just haven't been online at the same time as you!
thanks Molly
My husband just stopped the eyedrops after cateract surgery and does already see better.
ugh, I have lost so many single earrings! I thought of starting a trend of wearing two different ones but that just seemed weird
molly: my taste i jewelry runs to huge diamonds :P
ooh, gmere, how long did he do drops min said until they run out.
Hi stidg - glad it went well for you hubby too! Though I missed out on that one!
Molly, I think the clue you have me was for te 7/28...I need te 6/24
Yes, I always say a diamond cannot be too large.
TO, my taste in jewelry would run that way too, if I had someone to buy them for me. : D
hi gmere!
No, my clue was for te6/24...plot your chart out on gr5 paper
Hi uu. I don't think I actually own any diamonds.
hi Liz,Peri,Annie and Gmere:)
molly's clue worked for me for the te6/24, annie
But of course! :)
But of course! :)
ah, thanks, Molly
te + first 4 letters of a TMNT ;)
thanks molly good clue!
Hi Lilli - like the gnome story :)
Hi Cos
Hi Liz, Molly, Annie, Sue, Lill and whoever else is here
oh rats. you took your recipe down and i did not copy it. at least i dont think i did.
Hi Cos :)
hi cos!
hi from whomever, cos :P
there are two te 6/24
ah and hi TO :)
lol TO!
:D
I swear to God Cos, you are the King of Abbreviations
WCISM? :)
wth is tmnt
I had to look up TMNT Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and that show lived in my house for a long time.
tmnt: teenaged mutant ninja turtles (each one is named after a painter)
hi cos and yes i did TO, but i'll put it up again later if i cna remember it :)
wcism?
ND TY LIZ :)
what can I say Molly? :P
Dpm
Don't pay any attention to him Liz, he's being a smart ass
;)
*np and sorry for shouting liz :)i'll probably upset someone!! :D
But then, I should be used to that here in the land of ty, yw, hagd and bbl
molly, i love your icon. i have a friend who always calls me cupcake and i try to think of something to call him back
that reminds me I need a new icon. Brb as I search my files for one that won't offend yet make people laugh.
I have a friend who calls me any old 40's term for a woman he can think of. Cupcake being one of them. That is why that image made me laugh.
it's a good one, Molly!
im not giving up this chicken until june
Good luck with that Cos. Try to find one that won't be taken personally as well. : P
Liked yours too - made me think of you all in the US and England!
well, i got my name from eating one cupcake and sneaking back to the truck to buy one to take home
help with 4th sp5/12 pls
you mean like my namaste, b*tches?
Nothing in my files. Doing an google search.
The namaste icon was one of the best I've seen here.
:D
Don't think I saw that icon!
i have been guilty of a few that offended.
nm
Oh well you know, this is take offense central, so it's hard to avoid that.
but the tenor of the games changes with personnel changes.
at one time we did have minors playing.
Why would people take offence at an icon???
Unless your icon is a dog or a cat, which 80% of them are.
because it crosses hisher boundaries.
In that case, if they're so easily offended, they shouldn't click on the icon!!!
one babbler had an animated dancing male organ. no ones seemed particularly offended, it was all adults then.
got lazy and went with a b oring one
Yes Liz, it seems such an easy premise.
well, liz, cannot argue with boundaries. and icons look a lot different when small.
And f they do decide to look at an icon and feel offended, that's their problem!
i guess. it is a very diverse crew aside from love of words.
I'll fubd a verter one latr
ugh I meant I'll find a better one later. Not used to this keyboard.
The Dorothy in me approves of your icon Cos.
No more easy than not deliberately trying to offend ... like one I saw awhile back about even old, ugly women need love ... a message to another member
occasionally people have put rather aggressive political statements on their icons; that's their prerogative, of course, but if it's something I strongly disagree with I may find myself not chatting with that person much. This is rare, though.
anyway, fireworks!
wtg sue!
Obviously you shouldn't set out to be personal but I totally agree Sue. Congrats, too!
uh oh, now even discussing icons has become unpleasant. and arent they really avatars
yay, sue! wtg!
Hi o-o
Remember icon theme day or something? One was underwear or something day and everyone posted old vintage ones and I posted one of a man in a negligee :)
Perception is an interesting thing.
haha, I don't think of mine as an avatar but rather as a teaching opportunity; that's just me, though.
i miss themes but understand why they went away
I just love Winnie the Pooh and particularly Tigger! Can't wait to go back to Pooh Bridge next time I'm in England.
wtg Sue!!:)
cos, your story reminds me of a lady I knew who was a master knitter; she entered a contest where you were supposed to knit something that represented "ripeness" - rather than nice, ripe fruit, or something, she knitted something that looked like a very decayed piece of roadkill. It looked quite ripe indeed :-)
my eyes hurt, i think the one is still compensating for the other.
i need a break. bbs
Feel better soon, TO
oh, just eyestrain, i will, ty
lol sue.. great story
And that was very clever of her Sue. But not for the delicate, I imagine.
Funny story, Sue
take care, TO!
just noticed it is dinner time; bbs
ok whats the other J besdies ja4? I know I can look at the list but humor me please :)
never mind found it!
Bon appétit, Sue
It's a man's name Cos
Speedy Gonzales strikes again.
bfn TO
I typed that in out of frustration and being a smart ass. Who knew it'd take.
bye sue and enjoy
The smart ass part I believe. : P
lol :) thanks though!
wish i could see it.
bbl
Its a name of a vampire in Twilight. Dont ask how I know. :P
See if it was word in the grid day for icon day id choose a picture of that vamp
Cos, you're into Twilight? I'm going to come wash your brain out with soap.
No I hate these movies and books. I read the first one though on a road trip.
Fireworks!
*Cancels Cos's subscription to teen heart throb book series and Fifty Shades Of Grey*
wtg Liz!! sorry hin :(
What are you sorry for L?
i missed liz's
i missed liz's
oh beggar, liz's Fireworks
Oh no! You did! *Sniff*
i like 50 shades of grey :)but hey, husband's away :)
Liz will probably be up all night wondering about that.
aye, i'll cry too
:)
Tissues for all!
I refuse to read trash.

i've read better than that cos but don't forget my husband works away about10/11 months of a year and i got ot see him about 3 whole weeks last year so i need to read trash!! :D
Too much information...i'll crawl back into my shell:)
i really think we need a minus thing here where we can ger rid of our chat
lol lilli. you are excused :)
and no not TMI!
Yes L, we want to hear all about your long, lonely nights when you read sex books because your husband is away.
ty Cos:)
i can give you a list of books Molly :)
Just thought of a funny comment but *bites lips hard*
they are son sex books! i don't read, well who does, the Kuma Sutra!!
Cos types with his lips, who knew?

I'm talented like that. Jealous? :P
"Long lonely nights stroking your cat?" (hides)
hello all, oops excuse me, I wandered into the wrong chatlog….
i stroke my tortoise shell every day:)
She is on a new radiator thing that the bairn bought her
Ihad a pet turtle once. Shelly we named her. She smelt so bad.
Oh, *cough*, hi Saani *sputter* we were just chatting about our dogs.
i'm talking about my cat saani, so you didn't :)
Poor scarred pets.
quick exit
sorry if I interrupted just as it was getting interesting...
*pin drops*
like a hammer cos?
So, how about those flowers...somewhere...
la la laa lalalaa lala la la:)
I bought season one of Full House today. I have no idea why.
Full House?
Maybe because it was on sale and I have an addiction to buying tv shows on dvd.
anyway,I have to go and feed my neighbour's cat so see you in a while. Carry on gang!
You have to speak UK language to L, Cos. She doesn't get our jived up American stuff.
nice to see you Saani. tc
OMG Molly I found the perfect icon! http://tinyurl.com/mmerupw
i know full house is in bingo!! :)
Water, right out my nose!!!
I'm gonna use it -- saracastically.
i love your icon Molly but all i see is a snow scene and i've refreshed loades over the days
I have no idea what you're talking about L. I haven't had a snow scene icon in weeks.
done! :)
cos, is yours the Golden Girls? i loved that, it was so funny
Cos, seriously, thank you. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.
it was lillii.. just changed it though!

*trees
hello 202 to go
sorry, meant you did Molly
wtg Cos!! :)
hi Harp :)
Hi Jane. You get a tiara today!
Cos, i can see your icon but not what's on it
keep calm???
no . you may have to refresh. its a cat in a mushroom outfit that was knitted
I had a client buy a Kama Sutra (not illustrated) for a fellow client. Neither one knew what it was because they didn't read. The gift giver just knew that her friend liked to draw pictures in the margins of books without pictures!
never knew such a book existed! thought they all came with pictures!
me too cos
unless it's inbraille
unless it's inbraille
sorry, i didn't mean to say that out loud!
I had a hard time keeping a straight face!
as someone who works at a school for the deaf and the blind I should be so outraged.. I laughed instead. :P
lol bet HJ.
I get it cos! You can't make this stuff up.
Such clueless people lol
*Wonders if Pen will be inspired to knit a mushroom costume for her cat by Cos's icon*
i've worked with people who have different disabilites(me included) so we have to laugh or we couldn't do our jobs(but we never mean it nastily,it's life)
I learn a lot from my clients. I have one who recently told me she was embarassed to be seen with me because my shirt was too tight.
Hello again babbleworld!
hi Jilly:)
Lol Harp
ROFL...good one ha4/6!
hi again Jilly
lol HJ!
Hello cosdem!
She's right, you know. I need to either lose weight or buy new clothes. Or both.
How'[s your mom, Jill
Me too....
the thing is that, the people that don't work with people with dissabilities don't understand what it is like and when we say sometyhing which is funny to a client isn't to someone we speak to on here
That goes for medical humor too
maybe new clothes harp:)
it does jilly:)
brb
jilly, i can't see your's or cos's 'keep calm' and i've refreshed
I havent had a keep calm icon in weeks though?
L, you need to get someone to clean out your cache and your cookies on your computer. It's hanging onto way old links.
Be back in a hour or so. Going to run to the store to get two cake mixes to do Jilly's recipe!

why not, Pen!
Pen, who taught you how to knit?
my niece....she has done complicated norwegian sweaters and stuff like that...
Pen, knit them for shelter cats. Think of how many would get adopted wearing those outfits!
nice
my mother was not a knitter....she liked to sew and embroider...
that's a grand idea, Molly!
now that's a thought molly...
I never learned to knit, I can crochet though.

if i ever get a card or flowers from husband, either i'll faint or accuse him of having a an affair!
good thing...i am running out of power on my netbook....my modem is not working...getting wifi from a neighbor, but can only do that on the netbook...
I find it sad that some men don't realize those things mean a lot to women.
i've never been a big romantic, seeing as my ex husband bought me re-mould tyres and cactuses ....
my ex after that ws alot more romantic but he was away at sea alot, but even then i got flowers, and my now husband of 13 years but been together longer hasn't got a romantic bone in his body.he used to show me Birthday?wedding Anniversary cards etc in the shop and say 'there you go,read, that, that would have been your card'!!
my husband's not all that romantic either.
saying that, i did get flowers from his once from a petrol station when i'd been in hospital
Pop Walton has passed.
:(
actually i was wrong about my 2nd partner as he was romantic.he took me for meals when he was home and when womens things were going on he bought me afrter eights.he was the most caring
That is sad. I loved Ralph Waite. He was great as Castle's grandfather.
what a shame, i liked him cos
shirley temple. sid caesar. ralph waite. thats 3.
it always comes in 3's Cos
Oh I can't wait to find out what after eights are.
Yes thats why I said it L :P
do you not have them Molly?
oh, aren't they thin chocolates with mint in them
hey everybody
yes phan:)
We have mints called After Eights
What do those have to do with women's things going on?
googled them molly.. looks like Andes?
they are the only chocolates i like apart from 70 odd percent chocolate
Oh I get it now. Women's things is secret code for having your period.
thought that was aunt flo?
Molly, because years ago when i had monthlys i wanted choclate but i wanted minty chocolate and they were my favourite
Yes, Aunt Flo too. I never did get all the code words for that.
when I was in HS, I used to call it my puncuation point...
mostly because I am weird.
in our house we said periods but some men don't like it, so i don't say it here
oh, I better go clean up after dinner.
I'm disappointed. I thought after eights was going to be some Brit word for lingerie.
are you going out to celebrate your new job Phan?
did you get the job you interviewed for, phan?
well, i suppose it could be Molly. i could design something:)
not tonight. But we are going out tomorrow, so it will be a Valentine's/new job celebration
yes, Pen. I did. :^)
