oh, dee, i saw my new doctor for FM today. he is starting me on lyrica, and i have my first magnesium treatment in 2 days.

and the acute pain on the medial aspect of my knee is probably not the torn ligament. it is probably the peri-tibial nerve which is often damaged in kn4 surgery.

if the magnesium and lyrica don't settle it, i will have to have it injected.
hubby's injection really helped him; definitely will add you to my prayer list
and, and, and i finally got my ha4s on the pre-op ortho surgeon's report. he says i shouldn't be back at work for 6-9 months, depending on the surgery. so all up, workcover are in it up to their necks and getting deeper.
it will be interesting to see how they respond now
it certainly will. can't wait to see my rep's face when he reads that report. workcover forced me back to work 4 months too early. and now i am the one paying for it.
incredibly stupid on their part; making you return so early is going to cost them $ in the long run

saw my new doctor for the FM today.
how did it go? And what did he say?
okay, i am starting lyrica(pregabalin) tonight, and go in for my first of 4 magnesium treatments next wednesday.
wow, exciting. What should it do?
he said the stress of the fall and surgery caused the exacerbation of the FM. and the sharp pain on the inner aspect of my kn4 is actually pre-tibial nerve pain.
the lyrica works of quietening the nerves in the muscles, as does the magnesium. so it is a two-pronged 'attack' on the FM itself.
nerve pain is the worst. Has he told you anything new?
if the kn4 pain doesn't settle, it will have to be injected. he checked a few of my trigger points, and when it brought tears to my eyes, he was so apologetic. he says i am super sensitive at hte moment, as to be expected.

i recently saw an article on tv about how men and women use maps. very interesting.

its a horrible school. the kids are nice, the staff is the cattiest bunch of people I have ever met, and my direct report is the worst bully I have ever encountered. I tried my hardest to get another job this summer, but the competition was fierce and no luck. so back I go.

when you return evil with kindness, civility and gentleness, it becomes very confounded.
a lot of it is union issues. I like to leave each day with a clean desk. but the other paras work and breathe union rules, which say we leave at a specific time. So they get frosted when I am there past that time. I don't see what it is to them if I stay, but whoo! do they get vexed

ahhh, i understand. at st. elsewhere's, where the ward was so busy, i often worked extra time , writing up my reports, because i would spend the whole shift caring for my patients. the other nurses resented the fact my patients never complained or had to ring their bells for attention.
lolol, one nurse said i drugged them all, because my patients were so quiet. and when they took care of them , they constantly rang their bells and made 'unreasonable' demands on them.
Well, all that says to me is that you knew your stuff and knew the ins and outs of proper patient care

I have seen way to many nurses get so blase about things that they treat patients like nothing more than a breathing piece of meat and that imho is where problems begin. To hell with transferrance
crossy, i had one patient with cancer of the liver and pancreas. he was admitted in such severe pain. the doctor ordered morphine infusion, which i duly set up, and ran. an hour later he died, at peace and not in pain. one nurse snarled at me, you killed him, because i had followed the doctor's orders.
he had not had enough morphine to kill him in one hour. just enough to allow him to go peacefully.
The doctor gave his orders, you did your duty. If the dr had been in error, i am sure you would have noted it

it took me nearly 12 weeks to get off the sinequan....i am so not wanting to go there again. and the steroids are not appropriate because they effect healing bone.

once i was nearly off them, my body was a total wreck. i could hardly walk, as every muscle in my body was quivering. i could barely sign my own name. then i found the anatrin...all herbal...and only available from the US of A. i import them into australia.

good, although it is a rather hot and steamy summer day here
hot one here as well. 28c but says it feels like 32c with the humidity
actually it's not going to get as hot as they thought it would due to storms just north of us, which I am perfectly fine with
28C here too, though...
Here many peple call this the summer that never was, but I have been quite content with 10-15c at night and 18 -20c in the day.
