$3000 covered tuition and all other fees, books and room and board for the year when I was a student ---30,000 covers tuition for one semester now -- more than that at some universities.
Crazy, I went to community college for 2 years and it cost about $800, and it was a grant... I took 4 university classes and it took me 3 years to pay it off.

Burger King taking over Tim Horton's.. well, there goes the neighbourhood. More than likely they will just move their head office here as a tax dodge;((
we had a BK here once and a Taco bell, both gave up in less than 2 years. The KFC is still hanging in, but i don't know how. Food is so expensive there for what you get.
