Has it got cooler today for you, Rose?

You can be a dame, Ruby :-)
Good to hear, Rose.

sorry if im not typing back quickly - our mad dog is vying for my attention my trying to shake my hand lol
We had a lovely Christmas period together. It was quite some wrench to have to go back to my "bachelor pad", all alone, but I stop here a couple nights a week and we have cuddles and the like. It's nice to try and woo somebody again, but it shouldn't have had to be like that, if I wasn't such a pranny in the first place!
go worzel. please give her my love and hugs.
She sends hers back xx

tara ruby xx
enjoy your day, ruby
hopefully.....
ooh just found the NE8!
well done zooz.
So did you go anywhere nice when you went out today, Rose?
zooz, church first thing, then met up with youngest son, josh and his wife for lunch. then straight to brother's home, to celebrate niece's 3rd birthday.
Aww hope she had a nice birthday. A full day you have had then.No wonder you are tired.
lunch was at a local tavern. i had grilled chicken breast with prawns in garlic cream sauce, over steamed rice, with chips and salad.
And did you sit down for the church service?
All nice except the prawns for me..lol
n url
zooz, it's just amazing to watch them all. my middle son was there with 2 of his kids, plus my other bros with spouses and kids.
Got that one, PMS :-)
I bet it was fun but noisy..lol
yes i sit down at church. the vicar has assured me God can hear me, even if i am sitting down....lol
lol
don has bought me a chair wedge. it allows me to sit with a slightly altered posture which is more comfortable. i can now sit in the car without dissolving into tears because of the pain in my hips.
So what position does it make you have then a more forward one?
Just googled them so I know what they look like.
it lifts my butt so that the angle of my hips is less acute, and causes me sit with a straighter back. the wide edge of the wedge is at the back of the chair/seat.
As log as it helps is all that matters.
g*
long*
did worzel leave?? i didn't see him go.
This ruddy laptop is crap..I actually saw the word long when i typed it yet it ownly showed up as g in the chog..mental!
I am not sure, Rose.
zooz, i will probably need this for the rest of my life. if/when i have hip surgery, i will no longer be allowed to flex my hips past 90 degrees.
Just looked at the who's online and he is still logged in.
We all need types of aids as we get older, Rose.It is the way it goes.As long as it helps.
ugh....but i don't wanna get older....i'm a coward.
I think most of us do not want to get old, Rose...lol But if there is nothing at all you can do about it..then let it go and try and enjoy the journey.
Listen to me saying those things..with all my problems i have..lol
xoxox zooz, thanx for the encouragement, mate. as long as i have don by my side, i can't fail.
Ha just come back from a toilet break and promptly found UR5/12 LOL
*giggle* now i wonder what prompted your memory like that....
Okay I am off to see parents. Have a nice evening, Rose. Toodle pips for now.
enjoy, zooz, mate
Hi all - if anyone's there.
hanging around like a bad smell, liz. {{hugs}} dear girl
Hugs, Rose. How are you today? Have you had a good day>
good day, my aussie friends!
very busy day, hin. and you?
or I should say good evening.
Hi lbd
g'day lbd
Happy New Year!
Reasonably busy. Domestic stuff. Hubby altering our bed frame to fit the new mattress we bought yesterday.
Happy new year to you and yours, lbw.
Happy New Year, lbd.
What made your's so busy, Rose?
church, lunch with youngest son and wife, then a 3 year-old's birthday party. long day.
Claudia's b'day?
Lunch sounds lovely. Did you go somewhere nice?
grace's birthday...my niece. claudia is in april...
Ah! Couldn't remember how old Claudia was either - older than 3 I think.
we went to a local tavern. i had grilled chicken breast with prawns in a cream garlic sauce, rice, chips and salad.
But how lovely anyway.
Yum - sounds really indulgent.
claudia will be 5 this year, and deacon 7...where, oh, where have the years gone?
Anything with garlic is good in my opinion!
Wow! Time has flown.
Is Grace an only child or does she have sibs?
my son who is 33 is of the same generation as my niece. it is lovely to watch them all interact.
Amazing. Such an age difference in the generation but like you say, great to see the interactions.
grace is probably going to be an only...it took a lot of effort for her parents to conceive her...but she is an absolute doll.
Much adored, I'm sure.
My family is really small compared to yours!
so tr4, liz. a longed for child is invariably spoiled to the nth degree...lol...she is so....female...
That sounds like Claudia too! Another lover of ballet if you have anything to do with it.
liz, hin...start with 5 siblings....it adds up to a lot of people.
As you say - a good starting point!
Stuck with 10 words left.
* giggle* but one of the bro's has gone off the rails.
Likely to get back on again???
a thai woman has got her claws into him...we are quite worried for him.
Ah! Thai brides - though that usually comes from the perspective of lonely men.
he has bought her a new motorcycle, a very expensive watch and paid for her mother's treatment in a hospital. plus he is staying in an area which is very notorious.
Hmmmmmm! Can understand your worry - fleecing him.
Have 2 x ge 7 but wouldn't mind a hint or two for the other 2 7s, please.
all the other bro's and spouses are of the same opinion..as the matriarch of the clan....i may have to tell him to pull his horns in and keep it in his pants. not looking forward to that, i can assure you.
an7/32, and tr7/32
But in the end, as an adult, he'll do what he wants. If you're close to him, how would he respond to being told that.
A little bit more pls - I listed at about 15 left.
not sure, liz. like all my other bros, he knows how i have protected them all. hopefully he will listen to what i have to say, and accept that my concerns are ge7.
an7...an + 2 vowels + ***d, the outside of an orange
I really hope so - he should certainly know that you have his best interests at heart - but affairs of the heart and all that affect how you think.
Lovely clue. Thanks.
tr7, tu6, with the hook letter in second place.
tadone! finito. tricky little grid.
Thanks again - didn't even think of trying that.
Congrats, lbd.
Definitely some weird words here.

hello sukee
hi/bye Sukee
Worried about my cat, he hasn't eaten since Friday and won't drink much.
How old is he?
He is 16 and he has been on prednisone for intestinal problems.
{{sukee}} it is very tough when our animals get old
Worried also since it's the weekend, I can't afford to take him to emergency care. I have to wait until tomorrow
I have been preparing myself for a couple of month but was so worried yesterday I couldn't even do any writing.
will he eat special treats like plain tuna or morsels of boiled chicken? maybe a little milk or cream?
He won't eat anything.
That is so sad.
is he still popping and peeing?
pooping?
I even went as far to check what I do if he dies in the apartment, the human society would come get him.
He did poop yesterday and peed a little this morning.
{{crossy}}
Hi crossy.
Go to store and get some of that nutritional suppliment kitty milk they sell in the teetra-packs
What is his name?
(9ruby))
Boo
I find the supplement milk very handy when our cats are not well.
because the cat will get dehydrated very quickly.
I have syringes for his medicine and I've been trying to get some water into him that way.
Oh, yes, subdermal hydration is better if you know how to inject fluids just under the skin on the back tween the shoulder blades, but I leave that type of hydration for the vet
I feel very sad for you sukee' I know how hard that must be
But give the cat milk a try. Like you say, you can do nothing else till Monday anyways
i believe friskies makes it. it is in a purple tetra-pack.
cats can live on it alone at need
Trying to relax, my stress if probably making it worse.
http://tinyurl.com/lembjuh
o.k will shut up now:) I hope the vet can help come Monday
Thanks Crossy.
sorry to hear your news, Sukee!
Hallelujah, I actually got him to drink out of a bowl.
great
how did you teach him to use the spoon, sukee?

I rarely use my heater.. but have had to this last week...too cold

and now it is time for Crossy's quote of the day!!!
"Yield to temptation; it may not pass your way again."-- Robert A. Heinlein.
Hi, Crossy. waiting for every erudite word.
Ah, someone else's erudite words
I do have ones of my own, but I save those for special curcumstances
For the most part they end up in my novel-in-=progress
and today is not a special circumstance?
Nope, today is just another ordinary day:)
Ah, lots of erudite words under one cover.
Remember, there are only seven original ideas--everything else is just plagiarism...
How goes the tome?
Temporarily on the side track until i am done with Shakespeare:(
You can study the Bard for years, you know
Stalled at 60,000 words:(
I think a few more months and I will have had enough of The Bard.
is that Shakespeare's fault or just lack of inspiration?
it is always his fault:)
Actually it is Iago's fault. he is the perfect antagonist, so I shall blame it all on him.
You need to memorise some of his wisest words then you can quote him at opportune moments.
My old headmaster was very fond of 'assume a virtue if you have it not for use can change the stamp of nature'
No, his quotes have been overdone. I look for the new and interesting or dusty and unnoticed and drag it into the light and dust off the cobwebs
Forgot the almost in front of change, sorry.
Must be 50 years since that rang out in school assembly.
lol, I am what i am, I don no virtue just for the sake of fear of spiritual nudity;)
watch out, ru's about
The final word is enough to et him off punning
set even
I wreath myself not in garments more suited for others, but instead wear my own natural plumage and those is view it can make of it what they will... hey, that is good:))
those who*
Well, christmas is over and I am a year older and the New Year has started off with an appointment for the hospital. It looks as if 2015 is to be no kinder than 2014.
Well, every day on this side of the dirt is a good day:)
You speak to me, a woman with pink hair about natural plumage???
Ahh yeas, I forgot about your wonerful hair
Do not follaw a path but rather blaze a trail for others to follow
it is amazing how those quotations stick. I find myself muttering along with Shakespeare. My English teacher would be proud.
Shakespeare just had melodious language to work with. Grind it all through No fear Sakespeare on Sparknotes, and his works are as dull as tepid dishwater for the most part:)
Ah, he was a shrewd observer of human foibles and he was the best entertainment going all those centuries ago. No internet then.
I have to research a few of his contemporaries when I head back tomorrow;(
Now it is your turn to follow in his footsteps.
Marlowe, Kyd, etc
There are all sorts of theories about who actually wrote his plays. Have you a favourite/
I have no conspiracy theory regarding his works as of yet:)
i am not keen on Marlowe myself.
I don't think I have ever read anything by Kyd. The name is unfamiliar.
hello crossy and jaxx
Why won't the grid accept yaffle? it is an English name for a woodpecker.
hi, Ruby. happy new year to you.
and to you, jaxx. What's up with the hospital appointment?
I have to research 5 of Shakespeare's contemporaries and do a report on each:(
Beaumont& Fletcher etc
Problems with my Parathyroid gland. I think they suspect osteoporosis as it balances the calcium in bones and teeth
I hope it turns out to be nothing of consequence, jaxx
So once they test and measure, will they be able to put you on meds to sort you out?
crossy, you have shown me how ignorant I am when it comes to the Bard's contemporaries. Some thing to read up on in the coming months
There are about 8 big names that were pumping out plays during Shakespeare's writing career.
sometimes they have to remove non-functioning parathyroid glands
like the dreaded adenoids?
often they will increase vitamin d supplements
raise your hand if you still have your tonsils
mine are long gone
mrs ru had several parathyroids removed
Yes, I am hoping so. One cause is benign tumour of the gland. I started to read up on it until I saw the word tumour and decided I would only brood before the appointment and who wants a broody pincushion after all the blood tests?
I think that mine being in place are the reason I never get colds or flu
Yes, sometimes there is too much info on the net.
tumors on the parathyroid are normal..
they're almost always benign
Whenever i was getting something biopsied, I waited till I got the results, then researched the crap out of it
<---knows a lot about parathyroids
I haven't had my tonsils out. You have to think that things have evolved for a reason.
Doctors probably hate the net but I think it's bettr to be well-informed to enable (pardon the expression) you to say \'No" to some treatment
the internet can scare the crap out of you with possibilities ruby
Thanks, Ru. Good to know.
Is a neutrino a female neutrino?
neutrina
*
You can have too much information as you all know.
it is a neutrino with pretensions:))
often they can balance you with vitamin d and calcium supplements jaxx.
That is what I am hoping for.
I was able to figure out my chest pain after I looked up pleurisy. I had the exact symptoms, causes, etc., and realized that there's no treatment beyond pain management.
That's the good news
and good nutrition for additional calcium rich foods like kale etc
The bad news is that when it's bad, even morphine doesn't work (at least on me)
Pleurisy is awful.. it's the worst
Are you still suffering Ruby. It is the most excruciating pain.
It varies from a steady 5 to an excruciating 15 but, at this moment, it doesn't hurt at all.
*note to self.. borrow morphine from Ruby when you need some*
... thyroid can undoubtedly be serious .... but then ... they took half of my wife's out ... and we stopped at a bar on the way out of the hospital the next day before going to a kid's dance competition ... ... no drugs (and didn't that piss off my wife) ... no vitamins ... no after affects ... ... always wait and see
have any of you tried cavalo Nero, Italian Black kale. I am not a lover of greens but it is delicious.
They are very liberal with painkillers here lol
parathyroids and Thyroids are completely different things dose
hello dose
I like kale mixed with other stuff.. but you have to cook the crap out of it in general
along with the crap, do you lose te vitamins?
Here, they are so tight with pain meds they try to kick you out the door with nothing but ibuprophen no matter what it was they have done to you.
... Last time I was in the hospital I made a joke about my wife advising me to be sure to ask for some Oxy ... and so they absolutely refuse to give me any
I had cysts on my thyroid many years ago. I seem to have a tendency to such things, like my late mother who was the same.
I sauté them in olive oil garlic with a touch of lemon and add balsamic (dark) vinegar and eat them often
... and
In the US they seem to be most concerned with ephinedrine, afraid that people will do some home cookin'
... sorry ... that's supposed to read ... hello ruby and everyone
Not Black Kale. you can fry or steam. 6 minutes at the most. It has a delicious nutty flavour.
lots of meth labs in Annecy I bet
Who needs meth when I can get opiates (just kidding)
*plans to move to Ruby's house when she dumps bert*
How do you say meth in French -- you can't, because they can't pronounce th
My friend who developed MRSA after an op has morphine delivered to her door by the local pharmacist.
What is MRSA?
staph infection ruby
<-- stocking up on Pouilly Fume for ru
phantom: offay (anybody remember that from the 60's?)
nope
pejorative term for white people
It is the strain of staph that is Antibiotic Resistant. She had an intestinal op and it went on from there. She was in hospital for most of last year, came home, fell and broke her ankle and wastoted back in again. they found that the scar still held MRSA so she had to stay in again.
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus
That is terrible, jaxx.
Thanks, Miss Molly
People have taken antibiotics so often and so long that some are now resistant to them. Sad.
Wow, Molly i am impressed. i couldn't for the life of me remember what the initials stand for. thank you.
husband has telephoned me twice in 15 minutes so I had better go upstairs and check on him.....
Bye for now.
... yes ... l
.. just reach three quarters ... too quickly .... must go to something else
My doctor goes to the opposite extreme when it comes to antibiotics. he loves to hand out the old sulfa-based meds first and only brings out the big guns as a last resort
The trouble is that people demand penicillin or some such even for viral illnesses which antibiotics can't touch. Then they don't take it for long enough leaving a reservoir of strong bacteria.
he phones you from upstairs?? Surprised he does not just ring a bell:) Tell him to haul his carcass downstairs if he needs something:)
My wife has a friend somewhere in P.A and seems they hand out the antibiotics like tic tacs;(
I am off to make our evening meal. We have finished the ham etc so it is Bacon and Eggs tonight. If I see another piece of meat I shall scream. Why I buy too much is beyond me. habit, I guess. See you later.
Nothing finer than brekkies for dinner:))
Here, meat is so expensive that I will never have that problem;((
it has gotten to the point that ANY beef is a ultra-rare treat:(
I've been buying beef a lot less now that i'm single
Oh, I so agree. We had fish for lunch as we have both had enough meat. We shall have Christmas pudding for dessert with local clotted cream. Sorry, Molly, I know you don't like the use of that word in connection with cream. Delicious, thogh.
clotted?
though, even
what's clotted cream>?
Hint for nu5/21 pls
I would love to eat more fish, but my beloved is not a fin fan:(
nu6 is relating to food ?
A thick local cream which has been boiled I believe so it forms thick , for want of a better word, glpbs of really thick yummy cream.
oh .. it's a beaver
oh.. thanks jaxx..never heard the term before
No fur of mammal with flattened tail that builds dams.
cashew + river in Spanish with a different ending vowel Nu 6
So sorry - it's a 6 and found!
I have a New Orleans cookbook that has nu6 recipes. Thank you but no.
We can buy clotted cream here, but it is costly
I have to relearn my beavers I guess
so you'd Leave it to Beaver Molly?
All your food seems expensive, crossy. I have had to give up Lamb as that is beyond my budget but otherwise meat is not too bad where cost is concerned.
Must go and feed us. bbl
It is , for the most part. even pork has gotten very expensive
Well, if pork is too expensive, let them eat lobster.
lol. It is a close thing! Lobster and beef are trading on par almost lol
Good afternoon, fair Babblers.
Howdy, Judi
*waves to Judi*
I feel sorry for Canadians. It seems every time their dollar increases in value, the prices go up.
They should start a few wars to lower their dollar then like the US does
A high dollar value is a kiss/curse. Buyers south of the border get pissed because they no longer get thier 2-for-1 sale on our exports
We tried wars... too expensive
is there football on today Molly?
*imagines black market for tofu*
Put it in health care instead;)))
*guy on street corner .. want some extra firm?*
ugh&tofu
*snort giggle*
Really. I'm surprised they don't have to get that slop away.
Actually, with meat so expensive, I may have to re-visit this tofu thing
try sheetrock crossy it tastes better
Tempeh is better. At least it's chewy and has some flavor.
do they have bacon flavoured tofu?
Is there football on??? Only the Dallas/Detroit game. GO DETROIT!!!
I wouldn't eat tofu on a bet
what time is that Molly?
Tofu is meant to be flavored with whatever you cook or season it with. Otherwise, it's completely tasteless. Yeech.
Me either. I would rather starve than eat tofu.
I remember when McD's tried those veggie burgers... ugh!
Even fried tofu sucks.
4:40 PM on The Right Coast
Cincinnati/Indiana is on now.
my last mcdonald's adventure was when I was 16 and stoned out of my mind
It's Wild Card playoff weekend.
Oh.. I might watch some football today then.
I hope dallas gets crushed
Ravens vs. Pittsburgh was a good game yesterday.
My last was 5 years ago when i got a wild craving for a Big Mac.. was a terrible mistake
I watched the Steelers game last night and was glad they lost
I can't stand Ben Rothsberger
My Raven's loving neighbors blew their respective gaskets.
I bet crossy.. you have to build a strong gut for that crap
I'm not too fond of the Ravens either ..but glad they beat down pittsburg
here, Harvey's is king of fast food burger-wise
h
Harvey's?? Not Hardy's?
i remember when my brother was Just starting out at Mc Master U in the late 80's. McDonald's put their cheeseburgers on for 25 cents each, so my little brother bout 200 of them and froze them. He ate burgers for 2 months solid!
No, Harvey's
I am not a Ravens fan. I still hold a grudge about what happened to The Colts.

I'm a huge Andrew Luck fan..
Wow. That's a lot of burgers.
And I like Peyton too.. I really like Drew Brees too

I assumed it was a random lusty thought about Engelbert Humperdink
lol Maybe....
But I'm more of an Elvis girl.

We get invaded with Elvii:(
Too much of a good thing, eh?

That is too much.
The rivers run black with hair dye when it rains;)
lol
It could be worse. It could be Beiber.
Funny Crossy. :D
who shrunk the game again?? (hi all)
ok, you have a valid point there
Hi Gwen
We keep trying to send that kid back, but he won't go.
I think the geneva convention protects us all from beiber festivals.
It should
We have a deal going; you keep beiber for a while and we send you top shelf maple syrup
But we have Vermont.
Now if you put us on your health care, we can talk.
lol
:)
Only if you send the kid to Gitmo
lmao!
yeah... take Bieber back please
we needed a break
I'm negotiating, Ru.
please.. plelase
Ok, how about some of our best bacon?
and cheap meds? lol
then you'd have to take Celine back too then
Oh god... not "The Screamer"
Agreed!
we'd give you guys New Hampshire
It would be worth it.
Well, if we evacuate New Hampshire and put celine and Justin there under guard...
I will take New Hampshire but still don't want Beiber
<--actually might want a screamer around in the months ahead :D
Uh oh, Bugs is going to queer the deal.
maybe beiber needs a nice, long vacation..
IT was going so well with Crossy bugs and you HAD to butt in
Howcum Ru?

Hiya Bugs!!
Oh, duh!
not Celine.. but a screamer :D
What if we just leave him at the border in one of those little rooms?
hello friends. just arrived to see crossy's negotiations and he was SO on the right track until he hit NH. A lovely state with sensible people in it.
how about one of those barrels over niagra falls crossie?
yeah!
or in the DMZ? Kim would love him
we could tell kim that Bieber is James Franco
Sorry, Niagra is protected. we cannot put crap like that in the water:(
Bugs, the people would be allowed to leave.
ne 8, hint pls
2 million gallons of water and one Bieber? Big deal
lol, wonder what is a safe Beiber ppm sample?
they could go to VT where they would be better off anyway

I had a vet friend who neutered about 30 chihuahua's one time. We kept trying to think of uses for the remnants.
...well.. don't think that long about it
there is -- Alphabits
great .. the less the Chihuahuas the better
There may have been alcohol involved, Ru.
A sad tidbit this reminded me of. France now has the issue of having to build a underground nuclear waste storage bunker that must have a 10,000 year life span. Seems it will need to hold 8 football fields worth of waste mattar and old rods.
hi all. help with un6 pls
miniature rocky mountain oysters for dollhouses
That is sad.
the Chihuahua's were loaded hego?
lol Gwen.
*imagines little margaritas*
They may have preferred that, Ru.
I do not care for that breed. Mostly yappy, high-strung and often over-bred with issues.

last movie we went to see was Big Hero 6
But if you hate sci-fi, give it a pass
hah. no hate there.
I do not bother with theatre anymore; too loud, cell phones going non- stop and people yapping all the way through the film
i like the theater... haven't noticed cell phones being that common a problem.
Last one I saw was life of pi I think

I am not so good at shutting out background noise and distractions
