hi sprite
hey broll :) I like your Poirot clue
thx
de an
sorry about that
it is so cold!
whew!! what a grid!! {{hugs}} my dearest sprite.
hello dear friend. How was your day?
sort of busy. but i paced myself. ironing done, bed stripped and remade, 3 of 4 loads of washing done. showered, washed my hair. how was your night?
busy day, rose! I hope you are in less pain now. My night was very short, lol. Am thinking nap :D
don did the dishes and bins. hung out the wash....continued with the garage.
very good. Well done on sharing the load.
sooo....shopping tomorrow..*sigh*
how about making the list and letting Don get it?
i am thinking a nap would be good for you....under a cosy quilt with terra beside you.
exactly, sprite. that is what i intend to do....lol...
hehehe Terra is a beast... he always climbs on top of me when I lie down on the couch. Stretches out in the valley between my back and the support of the couch. So cute. And when it is very cold, he moves to the triangle behind my knees.
funny thing is, with Rob, he always wants to lie under the blanket. With me, never. We don't know why.
if you have fibromyalgia it is well known that you can't control your body temperature
I don't think I have FM.
it is very amusing here first thing in the morning. don, squidged under the blankets, me, lying , legs outstretched, letting the fan blast me with cool air.
sprite, google it. you might have to browse through a few, but there is one which lists the symptoms...it is very closely allied with ptsd.
lol :D I have major hot flashes in bed too, but I think that is just menopause. I keep a towel handy. Usually I don't mind, and I have the fan standing next to my bed in case of extremes. But I hate it when my feet feel really hot. Makes me restless.
this does not mean you don't have ptsd...it just means you may have 2 disorders which overlap.
I do have ptsd.
once i found a list of the symptoms i was able to move forward. it's the not knowing which holds you back. darling, as i said...you may have both...a double whammy so to speak.
can FM be treated?
ok will look up the symptoms
the symptoms can be treated....the disorder hangs on. sometimes it goes....
and you know you also have csd...
csd? Oh the same as css?
yes, love
sorry to be so dense. Half my brain is still in bed.
you are not dense, dear. tired? yes. dense? no
*grin* I love you.
love you, too.
My love forgot to leave his bank card at home... so I cannot do what I had planned. It does mean I have more ti4 to take a nap today :)
*giggle* text him what you were supposed to get...let him get it...
I would, but the rules governing his business car make that hard. He is not allowed to use it for personal stuff. So he cannot go shopping straight from work. Always has to come home first, and then it is rather late.
this grid is a female dog of a grid. so many strange words which i do not use in everyday conversation.
I am having fun with it, tbh. So many weird things that I try for the heck of it and they take.
just wait until you get to the last 40 or so words...
I might open lickety then. With big grids, at some point you just cannot think of any words you may have missed.
that ic ending is used a lot
a grid full of nervous habits
yup...lol
btw....himself got most of his stuff back into the garage today. he has repositioned his workbench. and he has found a local guy who makes solid steel 'posts' to which he can mount his grinders etc. i am thinking we are gonna have to have a clearance some ti4 soon.
sounds good, rose. Progress is being made.
yesss found a -ow word at last
yeah.....i was on the lookout for those also.
sometimes you have a big grid and a very promising ending, and then you spend an hour trying to find words for it, and in the end it just isn't used that much.
i got hung up in the ma's....it turned out i had most of them. i wasted nearly 35 minutes there.
ma's are hard because there are so flippin' many of them. At some point you just run out of words to try, lol.
isn't the 20th the date for puglet's surgery?
I thought 22nd.
ahhh, i think you are correct....
I know, but it doesn't matter, I am used to it. *giggles*
*eye roll* for goodness sake....
japanese mats, sturdy trousers... good words today
lalalaaaa laaaa I made rose roll her eyes :D Score one for the team!
i was surprised at how many words i remembered.
oh my....col
Rob and I often fool around like this, and we have such fun, and the kids are the ones rolling their eyes and telling us to stop it. Which we don't, of course.
* giggle * going to get meds ready. xoxox
ok :)
sadism is being rather sadistic today
fireflies. Hanging around until rose comes back
Hello sprite :) Yay, well done!
hey Biltong :) Thanks! How are you today?
WTG SPRITE!!!
g'day biltong
ugh, lower back still in spasm...
thanks hun :) I wanted to say goodbye to you before I split. I might take an early nap... am sleepy! *hugs* and sleep well tonight.
Not too bad thanks. Also didn't sleep too well, so feeling slightly fragile. Luckily don't have much to do today :)
Hello rose :)
{{hugs}} and kisses to my beloved sprite.
oh yuck, rose. That is so nasty.
ah, that is a silver lining at least, Biltong. Be good to yourself today. And to you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night.
poor biltong...xoxox my dear
Thank you sprite, you take care of yourself too :)
Ah, ty rose. Hope your back eases
biltong, i take a baby dose of valium plus my magnesium...all good.
Do you have physio for your back, rose?
Someone at the door, bbl. Have a peaceful sleep, rose :)
yes i do biltong. i am in the warm water pool 3 x per week.
Good morning, biggie grid today.
Morning all. Am I missing something obvious not seeing the as7/32 and 8/40?
I'm not there yet.
Hi all :)
not obvious. the 7 is fan******, and the 8 is....
Hi liz
as 8/40 is a chemical element
Hi sukee
as8: a + shortened form of data + prong of a fork.
Thanks for the as 7
Thank you (I did go and look up the periodic table :)
:)
Ty Dachef
Now the 7...fan....
:) yw
as 7 - a + type of electricity
sorry still not seeing the 7...
ty liz
Yep, got it now - thanks!
to be honest, I'd have a seriously hard time trying to clue the majority of this grid. Weird letter combinations.
the kind of electricity that makes you hair stand up
If you wear nylon, you might get a ****** shock
Just listing - still have 90 left but not seeing them now.
yeh, I listed at 60 left. It didn't help at all!!!
lol - I'll run through, then again tomorrow morning, when i might be more awake, then I guess it'll be more words!
Missing loads of the biggies :(
Morning all!
Hi car
a
Help with the N in the first column please?
ni 5/10 I think
Or I can try a clue, if that's the right word
Got it! TY
yw
And the i at the top of the second column please?
is + vowel + a metal
tyvm...nbt now!
WTG!
Stats for any of the 9's?
di 9/60
Ty! Got it!
If you watched Harry Potter, the singular form of this was something Hermione used - a medicinal plant
Well done!
I did not get it. did not watch harry potter
I'm leaving it now for tomorrow - 59 left! But really not seeing any more words.
Oh! I got another di word...to look upon something with hatred
Get some rest! TY Liz
Hi peri
hi car, hi all
got the di9 never heard of it
Can you clue it for me?
not good at clueing. I found it in my scrabble dictionary
starts with di and double consonant
and it is a pl
Sounds like the plural of the Penn State Lions name (the one before Lions)
Got it! TY!
good clue Molly
that is the only big word I have
di + ST 5/10 (to leave a mark on wood) + pt is another di 9
ty

Ooh, I need that as well, ivesy
good morning dear friends

Thanks Liz!
ty liz..
Yw
have I offended?
No, Trif - what's up?
just seemed to be invisible there for a minute :)
Happens to me all the time (IRL too) - the invisible girl, I am ;)
Hi trif. Rubbish connection at the moment.
Down to 53. Time to read before sleep. Enjoy your days.
I'm the type of person who says something wicked clueless and then wonders why I can hear crickets....
*Hands Trif the Sensitive Blankie*
LOLOL molly - I know, right?
Seriously, how do you "offend" by asking how everyone is?
Everyone say HI TRIF!!!!
its fine molly, my goodness!
The last two di words (5/22 and 6/36) - it should be obvious given the high values and where they fall in the list but I'd swear I've tried every possible combination
Got em now
Must have found a combination that I hadn't tried :)
what is the count for the c please? Is it (((dreaded))) Welsh?
ci6/21
ci6/21. Not Welsh. Though the Welsh do have 'em
thanks matty - twisty little one!
help with any 8 pls
If you are stressed, you might need to take some do8 (compound word)
hmm, ty looking
It's a period of relaxation
ty Molls I was looking for some type of chemical word
tx molly!!
I was too, until I noticed the compound part :)
Yes, I made that sound like Xanex or something : D
pass the Xanax, yeah!!!!
See what a non-druggie I am, I can't even spell it correctly
help with the C pls
Peri, think NY, London, Paris...
duh, ty matty
and help with the N in the left colum pls. need to get ready for ex class soon
Not a duh, it's stacked up in an odd way. Hard to see.
Ctraffic
"groan"
Damn it
*Giggle*
Don't worry - I'm hugely stuck on the Es and Is - I hate vowel words. I have the EMs and two of the ENs (the four and the en5/10), one of the im (4) and two of the INs...and that's it for the Es and Is
EIEIO
the idea that this grid has so many I's is KILLING ME - babble has made it my least favorite letter
*Watches as all the offended I's weep*
bell is going to ring...see you third period, hopefully!
Dr to I: why do you think you're hated? I: gee i just wabt to be like the other vowels
HVC: Hated Vowel Complex
This grid looks like a Babbler's nighmare, over 300 words and all those vowels
whew! nbt
nbt/nbs! thanks to the clues posted earlier :-)
Good day to all.
hi Scrabbs
Fun, big grid.
19 I words :(
Still not as bad as re- words.
The last 8 in- words all start with the same first 4 letters.
gm, everyone. anyone have the de7/36?
de + not off + facial twitch
Hi dawg. I had to search some is-words and finish the i's which annoyed everyone.
ty, Molly! hi scrabs. the is words all build off each other.
hello everyone...biggie and all those "I"s
The i's don't have it. They are really taking a beating today.
I just found the sunk ship, Ti7
there's another "ship" the s.s. mi6, went on a three hour tour.
A three hour tour
Aye, aye, Skipper.
Cousin Earth, are you here?
I don't have the last three IN words nor any of the ISs. Also missing 120-odd other words :)
in8/45 = in4/4 + drizzling rain is a fine mi4/4
in6/18 = in + prong of a fork
in5/10 is the plural of in4/4
is6 = i + sa5 (shiny, soft fabric)
Thanks Scrabs!
plural that, matty
the 2 is7's are is6 + one letter
Thanks - that's all the Is barring im5/12
i + not yours
clue for the first en6 please
Ends in facial twitch
en+autom**** weapon
thanks, Molly and grant
yw
Funny how all the fuss has been made about I words but no one is wailing about 28 A words : D
Thanks all!!
Oops, 35
Has anyone clued the en7/28 and 8/45?
45, can't add
en7 sounds like a Disney movie
thanks, Molly
en8 ends in that ever present facial twtich
Or twitch
OK, got the en8
Not sure about the 7 yet
Disney movie, symphony music, Mickey is a sorceror
Or sorcerer
That's the one - thanks!
I think I will leave the an's for a while
I need 6 more
tadone!! finito!! whew, twisty, tricky but fun grid.
*Gives LBD a cookie
Congratulations, dawger!!!
ooh, thank you molly for the cookie! :)
If you give a dawg a cookie...
ty, annie. it is a doable grid. the 7's 8's and 9's had the monkeys flying
I going to have to go out and get more bananas
...she'll leave crumbs all over the place.
ACK! Flying monkeys
*Considers a support group for people who see make believe monkeys
I found a little fish that nibbles your toes in ponds
Hey Kiddies!
hi hego! must go get my day started. enjoy the grid! ttfn
hi and Bye

ON9: characterised by spilling one's seed on the ground so as not to impregnate one's brother's widow despite the requirement of levirate marriage, since expanded to the meaning of masturbatory in any context
Ty joseph.
Gave the 7 too.
2 7s
di 7 and 9
... I really shouldn't comment on that one...
on what ruru?
JJ's comment
ohhh
DI + a word for when you mark your clothes that will not come out.
DI9 is PT of that word.
Thanks
isnt that literalzooz?
Tuesday greetings, Babblers!
hi judi
Hello, Judi.
zooz, don't understand the di clue
Just read JJ's definition. *mind boggled*
bichob di plus st 5/10 and st 7/32
me too
I think this may be the hardest puzle ever
ty Fan
yw bichon
okay i am going to go eat now i may be back
*marks down MLF"s eating schedule*
It is always important to know when people are eating, off to do chores or getting a phone call.
*drinking coffee*
I eat breakfast at 8:30, lunch at6 12:30 and dinner at six. Snack at 3
Let's not get all Twittery here.
I'm just trying to inject on9 in my life
Just want to make it clear when I would not be Babbling
*marks down Bichon's time slots for Babble*
I go to sleep at 10, wake up at 7:30, so to the two fluffs
that's a lot of sleep
I eat & drink when I am hungry.Do not have any set time at all.
Yes, but that includes wake up stretchs and dog cuddling
that sounds more reasonable zooz
and meditation to ease me into slumber
<--now agreeing with JJ.. this is a tough grid
I was sort of hoping more people would be chiming in with clues by now, esp for the longer words :)
yea, good idea.
Read over the entire chat. It's a clue festival.
That woujld take energy
Okay, not a suggestion for the low maintenance types : D
can't finish these s's.. they're brutal
*Keeps a look out for savage S words
it says ti5, 7, 8, 8, 9... and then it says two ti9... i only have ti 5, 7, 8... assuming i'm even looking at the right set of words...
(I took your advice Molly and am reading the older chat)
There is only one ti9
TI9 most of the famous ship that sunk + first three letters of exam.
Or the plural of the 8 : D
OK
Remember when you read chat clues that a) some people clue incorrectly and b) some people don't spell well
*giggle*
Ru! You little cutie! I could hug you to bits!
In other words me..lol
No Zoom, not you : P
very true Molly re clue
Time for lunch!
Ru! Make note!

what kind of a word is that? TY Molly
It is a former coin for 10 cents.
*Wonders if Zoom should be PB bound for using 4 of the 5 letters in his clue
Oh damn..Sorry all :(

even listing didn't help here -- have a2z up as well -- I find that these grids with so many discipline specific and foreign words are quite tedious
I agree, nan but once I start I am committed to get through.
He's pretty good
hi all
lynxxx, How old is Stewart?
hi Mexico lady
Enter at your own risk, hi, jmc
hi lynxxx i haven't seen you in forty forevers!
Heading towards 10, greys usually reach 12 only.
i already started in stealth mod earlier so there is no help for me now. . . .
i suspect i will be happy to nbt
hi jmc - Mexico - how lovely! work or pleasure
pleasue. . .i couldn't even figure out a way to deduct it as a business trip. . .
here iwth my son, sister, niece, great niece etc.
but am writing a brief, of course.
<===severly type A personality
in8 one who is close, not getting this clue
hi jmc, how are you enjoying Mexico?
BBL going to take Stew out before the temp gets climbs but more importantly the UV levels rise too much
Victoria's Secret sells in8 apparel
ends in a light fog, peri
peri, in 4/4 + fine spray of waster
*water
I tried that and it did not stick
bye , lynxxx
in4 + LIGHT FOG
I was looking for the word that ended in past tense of eat
peri, did you try ----in 4/4 + fine spray of water
oops - sorry - didn't mean to yell!
yes, Annie, I just got it ty and Molly
ty nan
new word for me
ist = one who is suffix
the clue confused me
but I got it
hi peri I am having a fine time. I swim laps in the morning and evening, nap, and drink late into the night. . . tomorrow we go birding
sounds like a great time
Living the lush life
nice icon, jmc
except i just found it it going to snow tomorrow so i am trying to line up someone to shovel my sidewalk. . .
ty peri. . . the one yesterday with the pool in the foreground and the beach in the background was nice too! It's been fun living the life of the rich and famous for a short while. . .
ta 6-7 combo following the acid found in tea and wine, please?
well you just enjoy every minute, jmc and have a drink for me tonight!
margaritas every night peri! :-)
nan....just change the last letter of the acid...
Substitute not out for the almost frozen water
is semitic not in the dictionary because it is a proper noun?
don't let logic confuse you tmeses
jmc, have a margarita for me too, I love them
made with fresh lime. . . they have been great. . .
have those, molly and pen -- looking for the two that follow those (just before makes lace)
Oh, those are the two after tea acid that you asked for
no the tea acid(s) are what I had -- you clued the adjective

whoo hooo cyber!
hi TO
anyone want clues?
don't tell me the temp, it is going to snow tomorrow.
*wipes the sweat from brow*
i am looiing at my new, yet unsed passport.
where are you heading, TO?
go use it TO. . . ti*** a wasting!
to the kitchen, to start dinner.
stats for the first column N would be nice
TO go sign up for a tour. . .
lol - don't think you need a passport for that!
well, je, here's the deal: nly one half of this couple had the $ to travel at this time.
ni 5/10
if you have the money you should go. . .
anis is
if he has the money you should encourage pooling of resources ;-)
no, nan, last night was italian but today it's strictly us
do you save avion points?
ty mari
Anyone who has dollars to travel is a lucky person
he does not at this time, setting up IRAs etc
the way our dollar is falling makes it difficult for us to -- this trip we have partially booked is going to cost us a lot more than initially planned at this rate
well, molly, i don't know about that but my cousin, three years older, died today. so my thoughts on time are changing.
*too
i give up other stuff. . . it is in part a matter of priorities. . . .
i am sorry to hear that TO
Sorry about your cousin. All the more reason to spend it while you can
OH --Sorry about your cousin, TO
i agree with molls. . .
sorry to hear that, nan'where are you going? the us $ is strong vs the euro, but I would not want to be there at present.
the de7/36 plz
sorry to hear that too cyber. . .but at least you are going. . .
de + not over + facial twitch
hi movie
we've booked a land/cruise tour from Rome to Venice and the Adriatic, followed by a week in Vienna and Prague - not til September, so hopefully things will pick up by then
oooo prague is beautiful. . . .
(Rome aint half bad either)
ty molly
ty molls
i hope so i getmalings from viking river cruises, and they make me long to go.
jmc - we are in our 70's - if we don't go now, we never will. Even our winters in the states won't go on for more than a few years -- medical insurance for the STates is astronoical once you are over 80
TO -- if you decide to go on a Viking cruise -- let me know before booking - I can give you a referral number that will give $100/person on board credits
*give you
thank you, nan. is that your carrer?
that is pretty much my feeling about it. . . go while i can do interesting things like canoeing in the shallows birdwatching. . .
nice cyber. . .
jmc?
we have take 4 cruises with them, which gives us certain perks
so they are good?
yes TO?
:P
hahahaha
very good -- book through viking, not a travel agent -- you get a better deal that way and their people on the phone and on line are very good at helping you make the most of your trip.
*Currently planning a trip to the grocery store : D
that is good information cyber. . . i think my next goal is an inter-coastal alaskan cruise. . .
if our travel time to the departure point is more than 8 hours, we usually go a day or two ahead of time to get over the jet lag -- well worth it to do so
there was talk of a long tour though europe, but the money has to work first. it is difficult when one party has moved around the world so much all they want is a home, while the other is the oppposite. and JMC refused to hise me in her suitcase, though I don't take up much room. :)
but all i carry is a backpack and a purse TO. . . you are too heavy for the backpack!
The best cruise we've been on is the Viking cruise from Amsterdam to Budapest.
well, i am now.. :P
nice. . . i have never been to amsterdam but liked budapest. . . they had some roman hots springs . . .
the radio station is going to sweden and amsterdam in june. tre expensive.
yes -- our one mistake on that cruise, is that we should have planned a few extra days in Budapest before returning to England
It was our first venture into eastern europe and we weren't sure what we would find
off for a snooze -- this grid did me in!
have i mentioned that a friend of my got a job as a den mother for a travel agency? she travels and makes sure everyone gets on the tour bus, smooths over accommodations, etc. she rented out her home, she is gone so much. she loves it.

Thanks, Molly
You're welcome Annie. This one was a long road, but not to worry. I'm sure tomorrow's grid will be 50 or less. : D
I think this is the hardest I have worked on and I have been here a long time. Im guessing 64 words.
I didn't think it was that hard, just tedious. All the A words were the most tedious.
Youre a better man than I am, Molly L
And a good man in a storm too : D
*head falls on keyboard* Done.
*Cuts Annie a slice of cheesecake
*takes it gratefully* See you tomorrow.
Hi all :)
Another lovely icon, Molly
Finally finished those a's - thank goodness.
Clue for di 7/32 pls - the one after the di 9 pl herb

Herb?
Oh, you were defining the word
Yup, not calling anyone Herb.
ma 7/8 pls - after human (pt)
nm - pulling a peri!
Ah but there's another 8 in the sequence!
That facial twitch ending's getting a lot of use!
Not as much as you might think, when you look over the entire word list.
I guess in proportion to 308 maybe not, perhaps I just left myself lots of 7s and 8s to find! 12 left now.
So many words that are new to me!
Fireworks, finally. Thanks for all the clues and thank goodness for Lickety and more words.
ma7 male + opp of day, then plural
whoo hoo liz!
hi all
nm = never mind
Congrats to Liz. Thank you to bubba
Hi, Chrissie. Long time no speak
Hi Jaxx. It certainly is. Is it too late to wish you happy new year!
Not at all. I hope you had a good festive season
I did, thank you. Hope you did too.
How's things with you?
A lovely quiet one as Julie et al celebrated at home
Mind you, Ithink it was the calm before the storm. Simon has lost his job and their landlord has decided to sell the house.
I get the feeling you wouldn't know what do do with a quiet life!!!!!
Oh, I would believe me!
Not a lot going on here. Feels like it's just bed/work :(
How's that lovely grand-daughter of yours?
She's coming on a treat :)
Got a lovely pair of eyes!
Just heard son is in the uk for a few days at the end of the month for work. We'll get an overnight visit.
I can buy a few presents for him to take back
Something good to look forward to at a grey time of year
How's Ashley settling back with his mum?
he's doing so well. Leaving the house will set him back.
That's a shame. Don't they have any rights to stay with a new owner?
It was a short term let so I don't know. Simon has reacted by taking to his bed and Julie just seems paralysed.
Lazy or depressed?
Both, I think for both of them. I don't know if I can summon up the oomph again as I have problems with my parathyroid which is making me lethargic.
You need to put your own health first
I can't see a consultant until mid march so....
help with that ma7/8 that was asked for earlier
got it ty

wow that was fast bugs
i am so behind in the gossip
oh oh, sounds tuff
probably jmc but you are saving the world and protecting your soul. Gossip is not good for us
well there are odd words Aloy that may not be problematic for you. Dont trust me!
au contrare. . gossip allows us to know who we need to hold in the Light. . .
Bugs, I know you are a long time Babbler, so I do trust your judgement

glad you got it.
did you check out my icon of me working away on my brief in support of marriage equality?
life is good. . . Luz is a fabulous cook and i do laps twice a day . . .I could get used to this. . .
sorry. I try to ignore US political stuff because my husband spends altogether too much time watching CNN and getting all worked up about stuff that does not relate to our lives. I am glad you are on it though. I never understood how the laws could discriminate so much
margaritas before dinner
democracy like sausage making is a messy business. . .
the main problem is huge amounts of corruption excacerbated by having only two major parties
I must depart dear friends. Enjoy the sun and warmth jmc.
that certainly is one issue book
bye, Bugs

sweet dreams, jmc
and bye to Gwen too
The 85 Richest People In The World Have As Much Wealth As The 3.5 Billion Poorest
hi o-o, long time no see.. how are you?
http://tinyurl.com/oyqsjhp
I am on a new med regimen that is making life interesting
h'mm, I hope in a better way?
saving your link, ty
Will take some time to find out if the regimen is better than the one before.
Did you have a good growing season, Aloy?
sorry to tell you, o-o, but our oranges have fallen victim to the "greening" disease that has swept the state.. we are looking for alternate ways to maintain an agricultural exemption.. our neighbors now have cows.. one possibility
How unfortunate.
Last year we had zero harvest.. this year some of the trees have rallied and there are oranges to harvest if we can find a company that will do it.. yup, it is a bummer!
Just to top off the sad story, all the citrus is affected, so we lost grapefruit and lime and lemon trees too..
Sorry, Aloy.
On the positive side, I think the worst is over.. perhaps some of the research will come up with a cure or a preventative measure. We are just "small potatoes" compared to the huge groves that have been burned
and fortunately, we do not rely on orange income for our retirement! LOL.. that would really be bad!
Good planning.
Well, we both like working outdoors.. and it is rewarding to watch things grow and bloom.. we just didn't count on this curveball
Be well
hope your new regimen will yield the results you are happy with.. tc
sending positive vibes your way!
