Must admit I have really struggled to get over the half way point in todays grid.
Hello everyone :-)
Anyone here?
Hi
Hi Bubba
How have been
I am doing well. Trying to balance life's demands. How are you?
Pretty good, trying to slow down, in the office two days a week, and surgery one day.
Good for you. Too many docs work far too much. I work 3 days weekly myself. But I am on call this weekend--Fri-Sat-Sun, and I work this morning.
Call is a killer, I do trauma call, but only every three months for two weeks
As a matter of fact, got call this weekend. Had a MVA last nite
One of my latest orthopedic problems is improving--metatarsalgia. My other persists--greater trochanteric bursitis which bothers me only during the night or sitting for too long.
Ugh, you must see bad injuries when you do trauma call.
I find the solution to all my problems is not to get old. But alas??
Crazy stuff, but thank goodness for residents.
The alternative is not yet appealing.
Next Saturday night is our 30 year reunion for med school! Oh, how time has flown by. We were kids when we started.
My thought exactly, Scrabbler!
go 10, is something I know, a device to measure angles
jive
oops, sorry. PB for me.
Hi JBsAnno. You mean about dying? My uncle was 92, hi wife died at 92 last Sept, was ready to die and just faded away quickly in Feb. He was ready.
I already had that word, JB.
It is strange, I graduated high scholl at 16, so I was alwasenior residentsys the youngest, now I look around the room and I have kids older than the senior residents..
Umm, need to put my glasses on, but denying reality is my morning metier.
When I realize how fast the last 30+ years flew by I panic at being 55 now. My bucket list must be dealt with, but I have to take care of my almost 84 year old Mom.
Bubba, I've been in med ed since 1998, and know exactly what you mean! (PC for 15 years+)
My fathers favoirtie expression, "Live every day like it was your last, and one day you'll be right"
Hang in there, Scrabbler, my mom is getting into her late 70s, and she is really blossoming. She even got an iPhone!
LOL, bubba, so true.
Good adage, bubba.
If I've learned something new, then the day is a good one.
My mother doesn't even have a microwave oven! Too dangerous.
Bubba, what is that go 10 thing you mentioned?
A device to measure angles, and ROM.
Phantoms: augment, venom, aarg. Aargh!
Go 10, go*e with the wind + charged particle is a **n + you measure temperature with a thermo*****
Ok, Bubba.
Oh, it's a clue, a stat. Now I get it.
Thanks, Bubba. Had to Google it! I didn't know that one.
See? It's now officially a good day!
Good morning, everyone:)
Hi, crossy!
Good day, Crossy!
Going to the list, I
am seeing too many phantom and ghost words. Getting tired that my tries are not in the grid, or even in the dictionary!
We had frost again early this morning, but is now a balmy 4C:)
Will be a good day to hit the trails this afternoon:)
We had a frost last night too, proving again that we should not plant flowers and veggies until after Memorial Day, here in ZOnes 4-5.
Seems like we are going from summer into spring, doesn't it?
here, it used to always be safe after may 24th, but the patterns are changing.
We had about 2 wks of summery weather recently, then it got cold this week.
Winter is now a pale shadow of its former self, and ends early, but summer is slow to come. However, once it comes it is nasty hot, but short, then there is snow on the ground for the end of October:( That has been the way for last 3 years
The dividing lines of the seasons used to be more defined:(
We get our first snowfall the first week of November.
howdy folks.. and ty bubba for the go10, an instrument name I did not know
We,, it is saying we are due for 15C, scrabby, perfect for a hike. Common up and we can hit the Bruce for 10k or so:)
Howdy, aloy
Still love your calligraphy kitty, JBsAnno. Must remember to show it to the mrs as that used to be her hobby
I do need to visit you, Crossy!
Hi Aloy
I have just the trail in mind as well! bring your hiking stick/poles
My poles are always in my car, with lots of other gear, year-round.
Thanks, Crossy, it was a gift from Jellen in 2009. Just 3 strokes of the pen, so simply elegant.
i use a set of antique bamboo ski poles I found when i worked at the ski lodge on Blue a few years ago:)
oh oh, red bars.. may have to try again later.. my last post was lost in cyber space
Grr, have to finish this later. Making a grocery list and doing the grid require different brain regions that are currently not compatible in my state of mind. Enjoy your hike/Babbling/day, everyone!
The metal prong on the bottom is perfect for use as support poles if tarp-tent bivvying
tc jbsanno
it said .. Mother Earth is in the grid, but she is too proper to be accepted
brb, must get tea/feed the kitties
Morning (afternoon) all! Is the AR8 related to the ar5 before it?
no, ar8 is a disagreement
I have no ar words yet.
I always try to put "argo"
the only ar I have is a gas
Thank you!
Hi MAtty and Annie
And Joseph
Howdy!
TY, Bubba

Finished, my last word was blood borne viral infection, vi7
hi Annie and matty.. trying to Babble between the red bars, server interruptions galore this morning.. hi peri
Peri, I really disagree with you. Will this be the five minute ar8 or the full half hour?
Good morning.
NM, got the ar8
ty matty

Hi Annie.

Have a good day.

Can anyone help with the go6/30?
I don't have it yet.
This grid is nasty!

Thanks!
Ty
yw
tx aloy :-)
There are a lot of silly words in this grid. Not a nice one
hi Une.. yw, almost time for me to scoot.. will have to try to finish tonight.. ciao all
bye aloy! :-)
Just watching the votes being counted from yesterdays referendum. I'm ecstatic to report that this little country of ours has become the first country in the world to publically vote for same sex marriages. We have indeed come a long way!
Congratulations.
It does look like way, Soodle! I'm impressed. Will it become law, d'ya think? Is the vote binding?
And does anyone have any of the JA words besides the big cat?
For sure, Mattie. The people have spoken.
Ty matty, I did not have the big cat.
JA 6/39 A word for any talk or writing that one does not understand.
And repeat the final vowel for the 7
Thanks!!!
ty for the clues.
are there only 3 JAs?
No, there's a JA5/24 I don't yet have
Ok, that is the one I need
If you know Doctor Who, ja5 is the Mighty Ja---fess
First three of the car make + interest **tes can go up or down.
Thanks Joseph - and I do, very, very well
Got it, ty.
Ok, more than halfway, time to have breakfast
Ty for the help.
gaum
oops, sorry
phantom viagra
Yaa for the vote, soodles!! However, Canada has had same-sex marriages across the country for a decade now:) since 2005, and we were not the first, we were the fourth:)
Same-sex marriage here in Michigan is still not legal and had to go all the way to the Supreme Court. Hopefully they will finally make it the law of the land for the whole nation when they had down their decision this summer.
actually, 8 of the ten provinces were fully onboard as early as 2003:)
We are all slow to gain common sense it seems:/
Could someone clue the ja 6/7. I didn't understand it
Good morning
Howdy, Bichon
morning bichon, the ja 6 I have is a large cat but don't have a 7
this was clued earlier by Soodle.
ja 7 - large smokey gem - zircon variety
have not the foggiest:(
still don't understand bojazz
phantom: venom
add a vowel to ja6/39
starts with same 4 letters as "lingo" word
morning all- bottle plus thug. :-) ja 7
thanks jazz and Wolvie!
ty fpr the ja 6 and 7 folks
There is a 10 letter word in this grid. Must be a mistake
ty wolive! You saved my mind from melting down:)
hello
lol crossy
crossy...I have a puter question for you.. Why would your computer refuse to download pdf files if you have Adobe?
stats for the f please? i am still having my coffee :-)
fi4/7
lol- see? ty phae
yw :-)
sorry, phae, was in the kitchen....
Have you updated the acrobat reader. If you have all the updates, and it still will not read, I highly recomend the Calibre software. it will read all file types. there is a bit of a learning curve, but once you get onto Calibre, you can open any type of file they throw at you
ty...will try that
Plus, it is amazing and converting file types for your ebook device
acrobat reader is updated.
Give calibre a spin. see what you think of it
http://calibre-ebook.com/
I have yet to run across a file type it could not open
ok...ty
and If you plug in your reader, or tablet, it will automatically format it for your specific device
clue for ar8, anyone?
when I state my case to you when you do not agree and it gets heated
ty
tyvm last word
bbl
I love software that does multiple jobs for me:)
Yaa for grant!
this grid is not going well for me so far. hello all
good morning everyone
I agree mlf, lots of old bablets - odd words you'd never hear in ordinary chit chat
Howdy, Flosey:)
Howdy, MLF
how are you crossy and mrs. crossy
We are both well, Flosey, and how are you this fine spring day?
very well thanks crossy, going to Vancouver for a few days to visit daughters
Very nice:) We had a hard frost here last night. STILL cannot put any plants outdoors:(
then home again to meet up with Jill, Ru, Saanichcat, and Anne and hubby (can't think of Anne's babble name at the moment)
Cool! a Babble meet:))
hubby's garden is well underway and, fortunately, he has allocated garden space to 2 different friends who don't have space themselves
I've been trying to get him to slow down a bit - this way he sees the land used
When we get together again, You will have to come to my area so I can make you a proper crossy breakfast instead of that sad attempt at breakfast they threw at us at that restaraunt.
Well, if he has garden buddies they can share the work load:)
wow, that would be lovely, Crossy
we had a 'cousins' meet up 2 years ago (no one remaining of the generation before us) it was great and hopefully we might have one again this year - have not heard anything yet
I am sure some enjoy it, but they were trying to make it all too fancy, Old fashioned breakfast goodies are always the best:) yesterday, for example, I made the Mrs a 3-cheese omelette with a side of pea-meal bacon, home fries and toasted English muffins with apple jelly:)
very nice to get together with far-flung family members
wow, now that sounds like a good start to any day, Crossy
Yup, just bring your blood thinners to keep those arteries clear;))
Since we did epic brekkies yesterday, today is slices of chilled honeydew melon soft boiled eggs and toast soldiers for dipping:)
mm, the English guru missed all the commas:)
I get lazy when typing at home;)
I can't remember when I've enjoyed an egg in that fashion - I don't even own any eggcups
very unEnglish, aren't we!!
I would be lost without eggs in the house!
Most times i get them by the tray (2 /12 dozen each) right from the egg farm
we do eat lots of eggs, usually on toast or scrambled with cheese. Or a quiche occasionally
2 1/2*
for my cheesy egg, i do a "rough scramble" and centre them in the pan. before they harden up too much, I shred my cheese across them, then flip them like a burger. i keep them in the pan untill the cheese is golden brown on both sides
next 2 farms from us sell their eggs (roadside stand) so always have lovely fresh - next door they also have ducks - eggs slightly larger
I have never had a duck egg:)
I am not aware of any difference in the taste
The Aussies say a ostrich egg can take up to 17 minutes to boil:)
Imagine one of those on your plate!
have never had ostrich egg, I think there was a farm in Saanich but don't see any sign of it today
Would need a whole lot of toast for dipping!
one might be more than enough!!
good for large amounts of egg salad in a hurry;)
would make quite a devilled egg!
Wonder if they see eggs cups down under large enough to fit them? lol
a fav of hubbies
sell
clue for the go10? pls
I am terrible with deviled eggs, i can suck those back like nothing!
A instrument for measuring angle in crystals.
the me 5/12 is at the end of the word
oh ty! that made it ever so clear...lol
go10 go5 before it, just change last vowel + the item you have that measures your use of hydro power
lol, phae
that is why I added the me 5 word to help
hahaha, was thinking the same thing.
wow! monkeyed it!! TY Crossy
yaaa!
because you alreay have the go, then you have the me 5, the rest is fill in the blanks:))
clue for gr6/33?
got it too. ty
if it was tr6, it would be a stand you place teapot on
ty flosey
yw crossy
ty flosey
amd {jaetpm
oops, sorry Phaeton
had right hand, wrong position
I have one of those for my teapot. hate most of the new teapots so much I had to get one made in the 60's from a yard sale;)
np
Nice earthenware teapot with soft brown tones and a glazed finish
good for 4 cups:)
when alone, we just make it in cups, only use teapot when we have guests!! lazy
Never knew Crossy was such a teapot maven.
My figuring is that if I use the pot, i get 4 cups out of the same two teabags:)
really a coffee person but have been cut back to one cup a day - ugh!!
Coffee burns my tummy hego, so i love my tea
I love both, actually.
very difficult to abide by that rule
Why Flo?
hello, babblers.
I mean, why only one a day?
Hi TO
thanks for all these great clues folks
not sure why hego, can't remember - goes back a few years and I have great difficulty sticking to it
'lo Bichon
hi hego, flosey, TO
g'morning bichon
hi hego, hi bich.
g'morning TO
hi, flosey. your roses are lovely.
We don't have roses yet, probably in June
ty TO - a pic from prior years, our's aren't blooming yet
I do see tight buds
it is dry, chilly and windy here. pollen everywhere.
same here in CT
I froze my knickers off
today is cool and overcast but early yet, almost 7:am
flosey, where are you?
was looking forward to seeing Orleans this PM, but it will be too chilly to be outdoors and I am too ill.
west coast - about as far west as one can be - gulf islands between Vancouver Island and the mainland
and what will your temp be today, flo>
am ashamed to admit - can't get on to the C. - my head is still with F. hubby interprets for me
roughly 16 - 18 C
cannot do C at all
sweater weather
and in fahrenheit?
20 is about 70F
??? have never figured it out, always ask hubby
thanks hego
yw
Had a hard frost this morning and the best we will do mid-day is about 10c
i think ours is about that, perhaps a bit more
our kids were all in grade school when it changed - I should have learned it at that time
ashamed to admit!!!
bbl
I have enough trouble remembering things I should know
My mind is still divided with C vs F, flosey, so do not worry
i think it is incredibly hard to unlearn something one has used for years
though after 30 years in the pertoleum busness, i have no problem with liquid measurements in c
ah, there again, I'm lost crossy
in metric*
I have those measurements taped inside kitchen cupboard
this is a good time for a break.
but my fish is always measured in inches, and my beer will forevermore be in pints!
Of course, measuring a fish in centimeters always makes it sound much larger that it really is:)
*guesses crossy doesn't stop with fishes*
lol,
morning all, could someone please clue me the GU 6/30 please
No, ru, i measure that in millimeters :)
Gu 6 guys with rifles
good morning Ru
Good morning flosey...
thanks ruru, got it
and gm Buttonman
Hiyas, kiddos!
Hi Judi
Howdy, Judi:)
FW - and off to get the daily - hope it's here! - in rural areas it is delivered to a box at the gate
Newspapers? People still read those things?
Off to brunch *POOF*
Could I get a clue for vi7, please?
vi 7/44 means the presence of a virus in the blood
or vi+vowel+ short term for a lost warrior
Does it work off the vi6?
no, it does not
Vi+vowel? I don't think that's possible on this grid.
sorry< i clued that badly
my bad.
You are right. it is obv not possible, bernice
just google the definition.
Clue for go10,91?
Think I best leave the clues to others today.
got it thanks
yw, marc
though i will say the me5/12 is at the end of that 10, feenix
thank you
:)
I don't think the me5 works because it take for letters to get to the m.
I meant four not for
back again
it does work. I just got it.
please clue the me5 then please?
me5,12 unit of length
morning, folks
me 5 not a yard but a me---
got it
hello everyone
lost on the vi and go clues -- no idea what a lost warrior is called
nm - found the vi 6
found the go
funny how the mind works. as soon as i saw nans stats i found the word. I think we "see" it but the mind does not recognize it.
... It might be that we can't see it until we know it's there
perhaps. for some reason, it does not pass from eye to brain
... I'll guess that's it's all pattern recognition ... knowing that there are seven "v" words out there doesn't give you enough of a hint as to the pattern ... ... but if you know there's a "vi6" then your brain's pattern recognizing apparatus has more tools to work with ... it starts going through words you know ... and then through the likelier patterns ... that it just couldn't generate when it only knew "v"
inrun is not a word?
i wish the grid were larger today.
I wish there were fewer weird words
i need 34 but have not found words from all letters yet.
... yeah ... I found half the words without much effort ... but the other half is completely invisible ... ... it's just not happening this afternoon
i think i will not get out today, so a large one would be nice
have gone to the list -- the g's are brutal - still don't have the last gu 6, then there is the io 6
found the io 6
in 5/12, please?
in + place for preservation of ashes
no idea bich
and I just got a look at the j's --- too much to do in the garden to waste time on a bunch of stupid words -- bye all - hagd
you would put it on your mantelpiece
not me!
got it though - ty
yvw
bye, nan
Has anyone got the nu6?
nu + **** bird
Thanks!
yw
