any clues for the re8?
sorry, I just got here...

what a strange word!!
thanks ursh
Thanks Ursh. never would have found that.
ty for the re8
my goodness! what a word....
hi, I'm back (;
hi melon :)
hi, TK
weird grid
been a long time... you doing okay?
I am. I was getting to bed early at the end of the school year, then I was in Europe for a month, my first trip ever!
wonderful!!! well worth getting your circadian rhythm out of kilter!!! where did you go?
Actually, school starts tomorrow, but the odds of a sub job on the first day are remote.
fw and off to bed - unless anyone needs a clue?
Ahm the trip. All in all five weeks, I took the Amtrak from CLE to NYC and stayed a few days, the IcelandAir to Amersterdam, and trains to Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Regensburg and the Bavarian coutryside, a week in Paris, 3 nights in Iceland, back to NYC for a few days, and the train home.
The Iceland stopover actually broke up the jet lag a bit.
ah what a wonderful trip melon
I'm off, until tomorrow night!
flip did anyone watch the mva's? i will never understand kanye west, I suppose.
niteers flosey :) congratulations!
It was. I used airbnb for Iceland, New York, Amsterdam, Berlin and Paris. Prague and Vienna were hotels, and Regensburg was at the home of a friend from music school; it was she who urged me to travel. So glad I finally did.
re 5/14?
I don't get Kanye one bit, nor really the MTV wing of music.
re double consonant, vowel
ty flosey!
yw mac
sounds wonderful melon! my cousin sis 2 weeks in Iceland and loved it... have been most of the other places you mentioned... what was your favourite?
lol... for melon's trip and in honour of jane there is a "dutch rabbit" in the grid, lol
ok, goodnight all
sweet dreams flosey :)
I did fall hook, line, and sinker for Paris. It was my longest stay, and I do understand French. I surprised myself at how much French I could speak; those years of french 8th grade thru sopjomore year of college were still hiding out in my gray matter!
looking for the bunny....
Of course, English is spoken everywhere I went. Iceland was a nice way to decompress from all those capital cities. I was in a little harbor town, so small, no-one locled their doors!
don't want to mislead you jane... the word actually means thick fog/mist.... but looks like a dutch word for bunny...
funny how the long unused languages pop out when you are immersed? good for you!
thanks.
I was in Marais, not far from the Hotel de Ville. I was in a 5th floor apartment with a terrace. My neighbor was a tiny older lady who had been Pierre Boulez's copyist. Boulez is held in muh esteem in Cleveland, and as I am a musician, we had much to talk about.
so lucky to have had such a lovely pied a terre and neighbour too! I'll bet she was glad to have someone to "talk shop" with.
She was, and I was happy to have someone to say "bonjour" to everyday. as a solo traveler, I really enjoyed using airbnb for that reason, among others.
there actually IS a bunny today, you know.
yes jane there is... now make it look dutch...
indeed a bunny
great clue, TK, thank you!
a bit fuzzy... but every time I see the word (thick fog/mist) I think dutch word for rabbit...
aa5 is how I feel about this grid.
hmmmm....looking
nbt at last, now for that pesky re8
can try to clue it if you want it..
I do! I'm getting tired and crabby.
nbt nbs halfway, good night!
re 8/50... r + nasty things from the water that stick on you and suck your blood....minus the first letter + superlative ending +
I will try to think of a better clue... congrats jane :)
melon... make that comparative ending not superlative...
Aha! and thank you. Or, a louder owl, minus South Carolina, sort of.
OK, nbt, nbs, and 30 words. Off to bed for me! Thanks, Kate, and good night all, or, Boone nuit!
Bonne nuit! Can't type!
[le pouf]
christopher ***VE (superman actor) + sneeze... a**oo + comparative ending

good morning all
{{hugs}} and good morning dearest sprite
*hugs rose* Hello my dear friend, good evening to you. How was your day?
busyish. spent most of it on the phone trying to track down a marquee for wednesday which isn't going to cost the church an arm and a leg to hire
your vicar is so so lucky to have the two of you in her corner
tomorrow we go to do the shopping for the day. we are the lucky ones to have her.
will you take care of yourself? Doing such big shopping is not easy on the ole bod.
i will. i know exactly where everything is in the supermarkets. i will send don forward if it becomes too much.
you are awesome.
how are you today, honey?
groggy. Bad night, slept in a little, still half in dreamland, or so it feels like. Not much pain, not nauseated, physically pretty ok.
okay. as you wake up i hope you start to feel more alert.
sometimes those bad dreams feel like they have a vacuum pomp behind them... sucking me right back in
i know. those are the ones i call waking dreams. you know you are dreaming, but you are equally sure you are awake.
those, I know as well. This is different though. This is after waking up, washing, dressing, and still feeling like being sucked right back into the dream, fighting to be aware of the here-and-now
ugh. not nice at all.you poor girl!! * gentle hug*
*hugs back* It'll be ok, at some point it stops. Will take terra out for a spin after babble :)
that should help. some fresh air, some real world stuff happening around you.
exactly. Wish it still was storming outside. Storm is the best cure, lol. Blows it all right away.
well yes, but the storm brings it's own stuff with headaches and feeling blah too.
true. Especially thunderstorms. We had one last night. Things are quiet now on the weather front.
btw, the vicar and i decided to use disposable cups and plates on wednesday. the washing up logistics are a nightmare otherwise.
I think that is a wise decision. You can always opt for the paper variety in stead of plastic.
i am buying the type of cups take-away coffee is put into.
the kind that is bio-degradable?
yes, they are
exactly. Smart decision, if you ask me
lol, one word left. Guess. The 8 of course.
and i have found one brand of plates which are recyclable.
perfect, darling. You and Don are doing a bang-up job.
do you want the stats?
I have the stats. Is it a normal word or an uncommon one?
uncommon
thanks :)
fireflies. Easy grid today
WTG SPRITE!!! it's wasn'y exactly difficult for me either.
a big *hug* for you, darling. I hope you will sleep well tonight.
xoxoxox {{hugs}} dearest. i hope your day improves for you.
oh, and my phantom of the day: nowhere
oh, clever sprite. i didn't have any phantoms.

Hi, y'all! GAAAAHHH. Another micro-grid!
hi...
small grid today??? I'm so bad at these ones :(
i don't think anybody here likes grids this small....
it's because there's never enough quick small words that are easy to get you have to start getting clues from people like so quickly?? and that's not as much fun
agreed....
Fireworks!
congrats!
The ge4/11 was the hardest to find.
hah....the gr 6 was my last word...
Best just to put this one behind us. Here's hoping for something more fulfilling tomorrow! *POOF*
