NBT NBS
wow volley. wow. good. still one blank tile
ty and well done!
de 7
Okay...I've never seen these acronyms. NBT/NBS? No blank tiles?
no blank tile/ no blank space
Difference between tile and space in these acronyms?
NBS= no blank stats
you have a word for every box on the left at the bottom of the grid; you have a word for every numbered box on the right under the word stats section
oops, sorry, ty, pug
no worries, just trying to help
thks so much
Ahhhh. Okay. I got the tiles reference. The S threw me. Thanks. I'm not normally on at the flip. Partially because if I tackle the grid now, what will I do tomorrow? ;)
lol.... nap??
Actual sleep. At some point. Hasn't come easily lately, but pretending is nice sometimes, too. :D
I can relate to insomnia.
le 7 if not called
One of the downsides of freelance work. No specific hours to wake up. No specific hours to fall asleep. One runs into another and before you know it, you're awake 8 hours each day. heh.
anyone call the other 8 beside the TA ?

Wonder what happened :(
it has changed in my profile, but not in the chat - so maybe tomorrow
did you try refreshing the page
I've had that problem but this morning I changed mine and it worked fine
yes
btw - sharing an item sent to me this morning - I think it is a fair comment on the state of our world. I copied it to my profile.
thanks for that item Nan, have copied it and will forward

sleep well Dee and good luck tomorrow with big list

cooee and g'day from me
hi rose
*grin* hi flosey. how are you sweetie?
*grin* hi flosey. how are you sweetie?
*sigh* hiccup...lolll
good thanks rose, fell asleep in my easy chair reading so was late coming in here!
what a day to do that
but this grid seems to move along nicely
oh, dear.... lol. you must have needed the nap.
yes, and it was very refreshing
it do4 flosey. lots of strings of words.
lovely flowers, rose
flosey, some of my roses from my own garden. the cecil brunner is ready for it's first summer pruning. the golden jubilee is covered in blooms and my apple blossom rose has just started to flower.
ah how lovely - I never remember the names of roses, we have a rose garden and each one represents a loved one
what a lovely thing to do, flosey. the golden jubilee represents my ex-husband's grandmother, the lorraine leigh is from a former patient, the perfume perfect is a birthday gift from my work colleagues and the remember me is where don's father buried.
aha, so your rose garden has similar meanings
one day i am gonna find a neil armstrong. that one has the most amazing scent.
have not seen that one, must look next spring
lol, yes it does. i have some others which were planted before i moved in but at le2 two of them are don's two daughters. both very much alive i assu7re you.
the cecil brunner is just because. it is a multi-petal tearose with a scent which on a warm day drifts into your house, or in our case, infiltrates the washing hanging on the line.
we started this garden when we came here 20 years ago, so some of these loved ones have passed on
like your christmas tree garden??
but the tiny Christmas trees are in different locations, and so far, only 2
ahhh, so it is just beginning. lovely.
Hi and hugs, ladies.
Your gardens sound lovely.
hi Liz
hi and {{hugs}} lizgirl. *squeezes the breath out of liz*
Watch out for my ribs!
I'll be a little gentler, Liz
Appreciated.
I never realised how long bruised ribs take to heal.
poor lizgirl.... * backs off the hug*
I like your hugs :)
But, at le5 I'm back at the gym.
tks Liz, missed that one - and glad you're able to be back to the gym
good for you liz. and i am back on the stationary bike. trampoline next
Good for you too!
Duh me! Have had that word for a while, but not the related direction!
lol....i lost my rhythm in the fast pedal phase. but still managed 2 cycles.
That's great
will try three cycles in a few days.
Gently, Rose.
absolutely liz
How are you generally?
yesterday i wasn't too good. felt sick most of the day, prolly due to stress. today much better.
Because of work cover?
yup. new report says i can drive a car. found out last tuesday i cannot apply the brake in an emergency situation.
stress is bad, rose - sometimes hard to avoid though
That's rubbish for you - so you can't drive now, I guess.
i know flosey. i have been told again and again, stop worrying. how do you turn your head off when you ar4e asleep?
so true!! unfortunately
Very hard to do.
oh well. i have a wonderful man by my side. i will get there.
For sure you will. Be so much easier when all the legal stuff is over.
And yes, we're so lucky with our men.
*grin* i so know that.
amen to that
and now we have terrorists attacking all over our planet. our specialists were quite eloquent.
So sad - so much terror in the world.
so frightening
just decide who is the them and us. i totally agree with the them is extremists and the us is the moderates.
so many of these people need our help but difficult to know how to handle the terrorists amongst them
Terrorists should be fair and wear name tags.
i agree with leaving religion out of the argument.
ales
*rolls eyes* BYZANTINE !~!
We could have badges of the Non-terrorist Organization
*giggles*
down to 48 and I'm off to bed, goodnight all
hopefully can finish in the morning
Just back in time to say sleep well.
tks Liz
good luck with the grid
sweet dreams flosey honey.

To you both too.
Yay! Ks finished - just in time for dinner :)
Godd morning everyone :-)
Good*
yay lizgirl
and good m0rni9ng to you too zooz
Hello, Rose. Hope you enjoyed your evening meal :-)
slow cooked corned beef and salad. oh my...
beef slow cooked...not the salad....lolll
Very nice! I have not had corned beef for ages. Making my mouth water just thinking of it lol
Well yes I gathered that lol
zooz, i soak for nearly 12 hours then cook it in my slow-cooker with black peppercorns, mustard powder, bay leaves, garlic, onion, and brown vinegar.
oh, and brown sugar
it is melt in your mouth.
My mother also has a slow cooker but she used it nearly everyday for over a month. In the end my dad insisted they did not have anymore slow cooked meals for a while lol
i cook pickled pork the same way. himself loves it.
understood zooz. yes...slow cooked meals can become tedious.
mind you my beef/lamb stews with dumplings are just divine...
He is very fussy about food. And there is not much he will eat so when he said he really enjoyed the meal from the slow cooker well that was it. Mother would cook always with the slow cooker lol Bless her. Must be hard to find meals for a fuss pot!
i used it a lot...the slow cooker...when MIL was living here. she was able to chew/eat the meat so easily.
Oh yes I love beef stew with dumplings, Rose!
*makes note to self* must cook beef/lamb stew for zooz when we are over in the uk.
Yes that is it, Rose, When he eats a lot of the time his throat starts to close up and so he can not eat. Plus he is always saying this does not taste right or that is horrible and these are fresh from the shop.
strange that, zooz. DH says his throat closes up too. i have found that lozenges of difflam help him.
All he has these days is the ensure drinks with vitamins & fibre. Mashed potato, beans and maybe a fried egg all wound up into a heap.
poor man...
Never heard of them, Rose. Can we get them here and do they have a flavour if so he will not have them lol
i so love the flavours of food.
Me too! I love garlic but alas can not have any as if I go round after eating any he will have a fit and say I stink lol
check them out zooz. some of them do have a flavour. but he maybe able to tolerate them.
zooz, try dried garlic flakes.
Just looked , Rose, those are for sore throats he does not have a sore throat at all.
try them anyway zooz. you never know, mate
Oh yes they also have a anti inflammatory too. Should of read a bit more :-)
with the anaesthetic, they may just work.
I will look out for them and give them a try
i waiting for sprite too. no sign of her. i wonder what is going on?
Sorry bout that had a phone call.
No idea, Rose. Not seen her for a few days.
np's zooz. she hasn't been well. i hope all is okay for her.
Last i heard was she was feeling a lot better from having the flu and was well on the mend.
same here....
I knew she got upset about the Paris killings and she went off line then.
yeah, she doesn't handle stuff like that well.
i'll email her tomorrow...while i am anchored to my chair...
xoxox zooz. i hope you have a great day.
Okay sorry to leave you, Rose. But I need to shower and get ready to see my parents!
*smooch*
Wow you are a mind reader!!!!
Sweet sleeps, Rose!
lollll...of course i am...
good morning all
ks killed
sprite??? {{hugs}} and good morning. and well done on the k's.
hi sweetie, what's with all the question marks? *hugs* back at ya, and how did your weekend go?
my weekend was the pits. i felt so low... and the question marks...i wasn't sure you wanted to see me.
what the heck? Why wouldn't I want to see you, darling? You are my bestest friend here. So sorry to hear you were low this weekend. Lots of pain?
i wouldn't want to see me...
not lots of pain...just feeling very moody.
silly girl. I always want to see you. No matter what, no matter where. No matter what you are looking or wearing (or not wearing).
ugh, that is awful. Such a rotten feeling. Any idea what caused it?
possibly my sadness that the denervation hasn't worked fully. and the last IME doc was soooo silly. he reckons i can work 19 hours/week. but workcover fed him the wrong info. it told him i was working 38 hours/week pre-injury. and i was working 27 hours.
and after we had lunch with the youngest of my sons, i was so sad that my eldest was being such an a***hole.
your lawyer has to step up to the mark now, rose, and take this off your hands. This is a mess and he needs to clear it. I am truly sorry the denervation hasn't rendered the results we hoped for.
hiccup done!
*smooch* my darling sprite
*hugs* right back.
sweetie, you lift my heart, you lift my spirits. thank-you
anytime, rose. Seriously. That's what friends are for ;)
Good morning all.
sweetie, almost pumpkin time for me.
good morning sukee :)
I just caught the moment of silence on TV. La Marseillaise always makes me teary every time I hear them sing it.
oh, no....sukee...i most definitely have to stay....good morning
Hi Rose.
sleep well, rose, and dream even better. I will hold you in my thoughts and prayers.
xoxox sprite. bless you!! one day, honey, one day.
Another week begins :)
ikr! We will meet, hug irl, and talk the edges off our tongues.
so it does, sukee :) We are women hear us roar!
“It's not good to dig in the past, raise the ghost up from the grave, and have it walk with the flesh.†~Anthony Liccione
hi Byzantine
how are you feeling, sukee?
I'm feeling quite good actually, the pills I am taking seem to be doing their jobs.
I still have some shingles pain but it goes down every day, seems to disappear if I massage the area with the pain.
that is good news! Am glad for you.
I am starting to feel more like myself again, not scared :)
oh, being able to do something about the pain is such progress.
awesome. Courageous sukee!
Well, what else can you do? :)
hehehe true. Well, some give in and go down in despair. But I am very glad you are the other kind.
the kind that allows herself the occasional down moment, but comes back stronger every time
Some Buddhists would say, life is suffering and then death.
Now I feel like singing I will Survive :D
as long as I know how to love I know I will survive!
thanks for putting that in my head, lol
You are welcome :)
lighten up, Byzantine. :P
here we are ... all together as we sing our song ... joyfully ...
My two kitties help, I was in fits of giggles when Damon, the grey one, got an empty kleenex box stuck on his head.
awwww precious
I couldn't get up to help him right away because I was laughing so hard.
they are priceless, our pets
Both have also been very affectionate, taking turns sitting on my nap.
So happy I got them when I did.
*giggles* Sitting on your nap? That would wake me up for sure
lol, lap.
I knew that. Just couldn't resist :D
I didn't even notice the typo.
Lighten up, sprite
I am rotten that way, I always spot typos. Makes me a great editor, but a lousy chat partner, grin.
even lighter than this, Byzantine? That would make me give off light, no doubt.
I can't believe there are 8 Ks, so far I only have 2.
I did the ks first off. Always do that. I can only start babbling for fun when the pesky k is out of the way.
so let me know if you want clues
Time to leave this hostility ... hahahaha
I'll work on it for a while first, but thanks :)

Well, I do have nbt now :)

who is MC Hammer
Hip hop musician - I've heard of him, just didn't get the reference.
Popular music references are usually a huge fail in this forum.
Ah! Just googled him - now get the reference :)
Google search is such a handy little tool, isn't it?
I like music references but never really listened to mc hammer
ke 5/20, pls
Guess it depends who you're cluing for. I often miss the US references.
I would look for a c hammer at a tool shop
ke 5/20 is a form of martial arts. Begins with a man's name and finishes in wedding affirmative.

Greetings, all!
Hello, Judi :-)
hiya judi
This grid is significanty more gratifying than yesterday's.
vocabular satisfaction.. hmmm
Yes I too am enjoying this one!
<---made up that word for the joke
You do know that word already exists, Ruru :-)
I always add a y..
Well yeah I know I think most of us do :-)
Y not?
LOL
well.. we have had orgasm in the grid lately
Ah, ruru, the sexpert!
and sexpal ;)
lol. Nice to know y'all are always on the lookout for those words,
*wonders if there was sexpet in that grid ? *
There was, ruru, But I was not going to go there LOL
it's entertaining when one is completely unable to find real words
:D
*refuses to make doggie style joke*
ruru boldly goes where no one else does
well.. I respond to petting
there we either find 4 letter words or obscure long words lol
*raises coffee cup* Here's to France for kicking ass and taking names in the wake of the terror attacks in Paris. Man, I wish our country moved that fast.
yeah we miss the obvious ones in between lol
there I am so good at that
does anyone have se6/24?
I do ! I do! Se6: guardian.
thx judi! i was monkeying the wrong s
as in caretaker or angel?
military as in guard
or like the beefeaters in London
good for france judi.. what'd they do.. I haven't read the news yet
Parts of the city are closed off. They are rounding up suspects, bombing the shit out of Syria, etc. etc.
<---thinks donnest should be a word.. you eat the cookies out of the oven that are the donnest
oh.. I love the bombing the shit out of isis
Belgium is also involved in the hunt.
Yep. Gotta love the smell of dead terrorists in the morning.
not getting the clue?
I really hope they got the Jihad John guy in the recent drone attack
Starts with an se4, MLF.
guards stand se6 outside the palace
*loads fish into slingshot*
got it
*sprinkles with lemon juice*
Got lucky there, MLF. Was almost ready to launch.
Name that proper noun: Island in NY.
staten!
launch what?
Ding! Ding! Ding! Thereablah wins a round trip on the ferry!
I was goint to slingshot you with a fish, MLF.
I have been on that ferry many times...my aunt and uncle lived there years ago :)
:-) Cool!
not unless its fried cod with tartar sauce aside from that not interested thank you anyway judi lol
We rode the ferry to see the Statue of LIberty. Alas, Liberty Island was closed at the time.
The Lady was undergoing some cosmetic work.
don't they all
I think they were painting her armpit or something.
I have bee on that ferry judi
the statue came from france judi.. they were probably shaving her armpits :D
te 5/14, pls
no they don't do that ruru
I knew that, Ru! Honestly, I think they were shoring up her torch arm and cleaning the pigeon poop off of her.
looking for it bichon
nm, need the te 7/28, pls
Te7: set of flight feathers on a bird. Big help, right? Sounds like a mathematical term to me.
sorry Judi, don't understand
when i was a kid we were able to climb all the way up to the torch of the statue of liberty...they eventually closed it b/c her arm was not stable, so you could only go to her crown.
Me neither. I monkied it.
me too, in the early 50's
can you clue it so even I could understand, pls
thanks judi
bichon google it
I didn't google it, I don't know it
I have no idea how to clue it. Uhg.
Google "group of flight feathers".
google names fo rflight feather
can you just tell me? I won't send you to the PB
for flight
You will soon be looking at bird butts.
ini***** is the ending to the word
I will be back
sorry, am really lost
thx judi, googled it
sounds like a math term for third
te + consonant + anagram of bird butt, then pl

Missing last de5
we almost have Sylvester in the grid
i am being a wuss today and listing early
I'm about to wuss out
de5/12 - prevent
Ty.
Clearly, The Blues Brothers "Shake Your Tail Feathers" is no favorite around here. Nor MC Hammer (from earlier)
MC Hammer????? God help us all.
*Investigates Lawrence Welk clues*
that is too legit
Which is what lead me to use MC Hammer as a clue. Not a smart move.
Wikki Wikki
Any clues for the ELs? I have the euphoric ones.
LOL.. I didn't see that one
Yes Judi, see MC Hammer discussion below.
el4/4 - pay attention or el4
I googled him. Hip hop. Don't even know what that is
That one I have. I need the 6s & 7s.
It's bad, Bichon. Don't go there.
e + 2 ....to quit
de 6/21, first one pls
Oh, I thought you had the euphoric ones. And those are a six and a seven. EL6 and EL7
Put a D in front of the euphoric word, Bich.
de + don't be la4
ty blah
*Goes to put on some Lawrence Welk music*
yw, pl for de7 :)
*turns on bubble machine*
good morning, all ..... a one a - a two a

phantom of the day is delegate --- would try to put it into practice regarding the day's workload, but kow it wouldn't work!
Hiya, Nan!

Hello peoples!
Hi Aussie!!
Hi, Hego!
How goes it dpwn under?
I'm up top Hego, I live in the UK ;)
But all good anyways :)
Sorry, gorgot.
where women roar and men thunder
forgot
But that too Byz :)
You better run, you'd better take cover
:)
Why do I suddenly want a vegamite sandwich?
Mmmm!! Vegemite!
lol
I was raised on vegemite on toast
aits
Oh fudge!
No idea what that is.
vegemite, that is
vegemite?? think yeast extract
Really??
yep
Can't even picture that.
its yummy.
vegemite and a good aggregate works great for fixing pot holes
Lol Byz!
hi all, and thanks for the clues.. was the vegemite flavored?
Hi Aloy
kinda like a beefy flavour
howdy hego
but not beef.... hard to explain Aloy
oh, ok.. was trying to imagine the taste of yeast extract
Sorry, sounds strange.
tell me about the texture
a spread, right?
yes, a spread. Made from used brewers yeast.
I seriously can't explain it.
But.....
We're happy little Vegemites As bright as bright can be. We all enjoy our Vegemite For breakfast, lunch, and tea. Our mummies say we're growing stronger Every single week, Because we love our Vegemite We all adore our Vegemite It puts a rose in every cheek.
hahahaha!
Long Live Vegemite!
Yep indeed!
sounds like it has iron in it and other good stuff
Best sources of Vitamin B going!
Trying to figure out how you reclaim used yeast.
now I feel that I had a deprived childhood
i'm not even sure i want to know, hego
who knows how I may have turned out if my Mom knew about Vegemite
good point blah
we did have Ovaltine..
and liver..
I had that too.
No liver for us.
Thank Heaven.
only way I could eat it was to smear mustard all over it
I can imagine.
now I love it, with onions and mushrooms and bacon of course
no mustard
It's loaded with cholesterol.
by breaking the used yeast down by autolysis, and then adding salt, celery and onion extracts to form the paste
interesting.
I know hego.. a once in a great while treat
that actually sounds tasty, Aussie
See, I'm biased because I love Vegemite.
do you spread it on a bagel or toast or what?
either! also good with cheese
Kind of doubt bagels.
depends if you toast your bagel hego
thanks for telling us about it!
nice to spread a smear on under cheese on toast
why not. lol
Lol.... It all started with a comment about being from down under, and hego wanting a vegemite sandwich from the song Land Down Under by Men At Work :D
right
But we learned something interesting.
History via music!
:)

I was joking that my side view matched Alfred's!
skelenot ;)
tee hee
to have flesh. :D
More silly punch for everyone!
*Pondering the similarities of Eeyore and Alfred Hitchcock(
i'll drink to that!
both have big asses?
From what I've read, they both ARE big asses (or were).
Well, in his defence, Eeyore couldn't help it
Alfred had no excuse and didn't have the "cute factor" of EEyore!
True dat
east

half way
go jes go!
I got to 140 and then decided to quit.
i do think a different icon image might be in order, jes -- that abscess isn't so much fun to look at...
heading out, likely to be a stormy morning for the commute so I need to be well-rested! *poof*
hmm. I'll switch to the other cat I need a home for.
Okay. hopefully that updated?
This grid is giving me cramps .. I have 81 left and I am seeing NOTHING .. Bleh ..
I'm down to 17 - listed at 60
fw
need any clues, tor?
yay kje!
Thanks, no .. but Yay K!
I'm just dabbling at Babble like common rabble ...
: )
and yet you're some 24 words ahead of me, tor
if you're dabbling, i must only be dawdling?
My dabbling has slowed to dawdling, my middling is maudlin, my motivation is moribund ..
but your alliteration is abundant
And my obfuscation is obsequious ..
also delightfully distracting from a dour grid
Let's see what I have now ... Hmmm 81 still .. Something tells me this ain't happening tonight ..(Boy if I had a dollar for every time I've said that to myself ...)
you'd have at least 2 dollars? :D
At least a couple more dollars than I have .. ;^)
