HI cos. Were you near the action in town today?
and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you south of the border. I hope your weekend is safe
cooee and g'day from me
I saw cooee in a crossword puzzle once. It was the first time I ever encountered cooee
hey ya douglas. i hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving.
if i don't respond straight away it means my firefox is playing up.
Hi again and hugs Rose
{{hugs}} lizgirl. thanx for the lovely email with all the pics. it was a delight
It was such a great day.
Especially lunch :)
i love days like that.
It was fun just looking for different things to photograph.
it would have been. and your lunch place sounds yummy.
Well, when you make it up here ..
looks like in the new year, liz. with christmas nearly here, it is pretty busy.
It'll be fun, whenever.
i'll just have to pry don's fingers off the air-con long enough....lolll
i keep telling him, no you can't take it with you...there isn't room in the car.
Need air con this week - next too by the look of it.
Lol
any fires around your way?
No thank goodness
it's been very worrying with the fires over in south australia. i couldn't believe that people still got caught in them. it's too sad.
Apparently it's been the hottest November on record.
Yes it's awful. Just run away if there's fire nearby.
tell it to the marines. we have had the heater on for the last 3 days.
Better a coward than de4
very true, liz
Really? 30 C + here.
it got to 5 C overnight 2 nights ago. we were both freezing in our bed. i had to get up and turn the heater up.
Just a sheet here - sometimes not that.
lalalalalala... the mind pictures are killing me.....lalalalalala
You'd be right there!
bloody raining and cold here...twas 40 odd degrees the other day and now it feels like winter.
it's a wonder the whole nation hasn't caught pneumonia.
Don't think we'll see winter again til next June/July
we had this sort of weather when i was a kid. i can remember my mother lighting the wood fire in the lounge, on christmas day, and one easter, in late april, it was so hot, i had to put my easter eggs in the fridge.
No explaining the weather!
brb, don home from shopping
back.
WB
i don't get it. indonesia is releasing terrorists from the jails saying they have reformed and changed their mindset. double standards if you remember what indonesia did to the two reformed drug dealers.
Never try to explain the actions of government.
From any country.
*wry smile* yeah, too true
:)
I keep trying to find words beginning with f - but I gave them all!
*have
i know. i was stunned when i found i had them all.
But you've finished. I've still got 54 to find.
that's when i slowed. but i found all bar 15 before i had to resort to the list.
I'll probably list soon.
Have io7, ma7, Ro 7, sc7 and to7. What am I missing pls?
re7/40
I suppose I should've guessed there'd be one of them!
ro7/32 and ro7/36
I have Ro 7/32
ro7/36 comes after ro4/5, fishing ro4
Thanks will look.
Took a while but I got there! Thanks
yay for you liz
Just found re5. Does the 7 follow from it?
yes, extend that re5.
Been trying but not there yet
want a little nudge?
Pls :)
try abbreviation of thank-you
Duh! That worked. Thanks. Wouldn't have thought of that.
Broken 50 - at last? Taking a break. Have a lovely evening. Hugs.
That should've been !
enjoy your evening liz. i'll bbl too.
Hello
good morning all
name that proper noun: egyptian president
sadat! gm, sprite and everyone
dingdingding, dawg wins the refill for the air mattrass!
hiya dawg :) How's life?
I'm doing well, and yourself?
pretty good here too. After a wet and windy autumn, we seem to have entered the best kind of winter weather... blue skies, sunny and very cold.
name that proper noun: famous dragon
blue skies and sunny is nice the cold is a nice addition to that...nice excuse for that extra tot of alcohol/
*giggles* True, dat. I don't mind cold, one can dress for cold and/or move around a lot. The sun and light are lovely and it is such uplifting weather. Don't mind that tot of alcohol either, though maybe not just yet.
no dragons coming to mind except Puff. after a nice saunter through the cold air that hot chocolate or hot drink of choice is a nice top off
let me see how to narrom the question without giving the answer away... he slept on his hoard, but once woken flattened a town.
I love spiced wine after a walk along the beach. Or used to, anyway. Walking along the beach is not really good for me anymore, unless with a wheel chair to get me past the soft sand, lol.
stay on the broadwalk, safer and easier to walk on.
*was just picturing it... that wheel chair standing lost and lonely at the start of the hard sand*
oh, smaug! doh
true. Might be a good idea to reinstate that tradition again... going out for a good walk every weekend.
dingdingding!
lol I was thinking feverishly... any mention of tolkien or hobbit or even dwarfs would have been a dead giveaway.
I have a tendency of falling when there is snow and ice. but I do love the snap of the cold on my face and the tingle of the crisp air in my lungs
the only dragons that came to mind immediately was George and the dragon and Puff the magic. neither are in the grid.
yeah it is bracing, I love that feeling. But I hear you about the falling. Back in da days, I was surefooted and all. But not since my pregnancies, alas. Ah, that reminds me, I need to order something to keep me from slipping when it starts freezing. Those things for around your shoes.
good dragon names for sure. But indeed not in this grid.
yak tracks! they are wonderful
*yaaaawwn* just checking in to say {{hugs}} and good day to my dearest sprite before i turn off the 'puter.
cooee lbdawger. xoxox
thanks! I couldn't remember the name.
the yak tracks I have are hard to use on hard wood or concrete. nothing to grip I guess.
cooooeeeee Rose!!
hi sweetie *hugs* sleep well and have splendid, very naughty dreams.
rofl, what Sprite said! sweet dreams dearest.
have had a great day. went and "played"{ in the garden. we have pruned the cecil brunner down to just two main branches. it had gone beresk. never mind, in a couple of weeks it will be back to full flower again.
and i picked ONE# stem of the apple blossom rose and it has filled a vase. the bush is about 6 feet wide and 3 feet tall, completely covered in pink roses.
take a picture of that bush!
wow that sounds so pretty
and now i must go. keyboard imprint on forehead not a good look. btw sprite, love the new nails.
thanks darling :) Thought you'd enjoy a look. Sorry that the pics aren't really sharp
xoxox and *poof*
can't believe I only just now noticed the K!
Hi and hugs, Sprite
Back to finish my last 45 words
*hugs Liz* Hello dear friend! How was your day? Thanks for the lovely long email and the pics! I had the best of times reading it.
hi Liz
good for you! I still need 92 of 'em.
Hi lbd
ks killed. Ok, they really weren't much of a challenge today, I will admit it.
Day was good - walk on the foreshore (tide was too high for a beach walk), then cooking this afternoon. Babble then dinner and TV, then back to babble - usual sort of day. How are you today.
sounds like a lovely day, liz
sounds like a lovely day to me. I am fine. My beloved less so, he is suffering a vicious gout attack and can barely sit still from the pain, poor man.
It was - but that's the way our days are here - I'm so lucky.
you deserve it, Liz. It always makes me smile when I read about your days.
Glad you liked the email, Sprite. That was a great day too - it was fun looking to photograph things we'd not taken before. Sorry about your poor beloved.
But my days are really pretty boring - I mean beach walks, gym, occasional drives etc.
I loved the playfulness of the people decorating that Moo town.
not boring at all. Filled with good things.
We enjoy them but they don't make interesting reading! Now you know what I wanted you to find when I suggested googling Mooball!
indeed! I got lots of informative sites, not all the fun that was in your pictures.
I spotted the dragon very quickly :)
Just watched a great ep of Graham Norton - interviewing Peter Capaldi, Tom Hanks and David Walliams - really funny.
good for you! :) In singing lesson we sang "I see fire" by Ed Sheeran, from The Hobbit - desolation of smaug. The name is imprinted on my retina.
sounds good! Nice people for an interview
I was so lucky seeing Smaug in NZ - he's not usually at Hobbiton. I think he lives in Wellington.
I really enjoyed your pictures from that holiday as well
We both love taking photos. That's the problem! We take so many.
nah that is not a problem. Makes it possible to pick the best and make a great album.
But when you want to include most of them .... We haven't printed our photo books from NZ yet - we've had too many other expenses, like putting in the pool fencing and then repairing the pool leak.
yeah that was nasty. Having to spend so much on something you don't need.
Good morning all.
But looking on the bright side, it looked good in the end and the birds love perching on it!!!!
hiya sukee :) *hugs* How are you today?
Not too badly, it's early yet :)
at least the birds are happy with it, lol
Hi Sukee
phantom: monitor
rugman - the one who sells carpets - not accepted :(
it is accepted in our babble dictionary. Adding it now!
lol
good morning
Hi Ruby
Hi Ruby
nbt
hi sukee, hi ruby
hiya ruby *hugs* How are you doing? Can you manage the cold? And how is Burt?
Hi lbd
good job, sukee! Not there yet myself. Still need biggies, and Ns from the bottom. But will get them.
phantom: modest
That bottom n took me ages but it's so obvious when you see it.
I keep seeing namaste. Which is there but not valid. Stupid enable.
I also tried that.
The ns are singular and plural
I wanted namaste to be accepted :)
see? It is unanimous. *quickly scribbles 'namaste' in the enable list*
It is freezing here, even in front of the fire
But the delivered meal was very French, but bland:
Poor Ruby - it seems to be freezing across Europe - my UK friends are complaining about the cold too. You should all come here - we've got a heatwave.
poor ruby. You need lots of layers. And frequent walks to the kitchen and back, if only to grab yourself a stiff drink :)
A friend got me the cutest pair of pajamas for my birthday. They have black cats on them.
Down to 21 but I'll probably leave most until tomorrow because I'm not seeing many words now.
you have a heat wave and rose had snow? Man, aus is so big.
Cute, Sukee
awwww that is cute, sukee. Picture!
quenelles w/sauce Nantua, macedoine of vegetables, camembert and baba au rhum.
Rose had snow????? I didn't know that, though I did know it was cold in Melbourne.
one sec :)
found the Ns. You are right, once you see them, you are hitting yourself over the head with a fish for not seeing them sooner
I know you like bland food, ruby, so that is good :)
un 8 is very obvious too.
ah, indeed, thanks Liz
Hope this works. https://goo.gl/polznP
I have all the 7s and the 8 and 9 but won't say any more unless you ask.
awwww that is so cute, sukee! Of course I meant a pic of you in the pyjamas, but this will do, lol
Really cute Sukee.
I'd love a gentle nudge for the 9, please, Liz
I haven't worn them yet, I will wear them tomorrow on my actually birthday :)
It's a combo - comes after the plural of the thing cars travel on.
ooh, happy birthday a day early sukee
oh! Sukee is almost the birthday girl! I wish you a lovely day, sukee, and I hope you will get thoroughly spoiled.
or is it spoilt?
Day early happy birthday from me too.
Thanks :) I plan to order in Chinese food, haven't done that for a long time.
Good to indulge on your birthday.
splurge a little, sukee. Sounds very good to me. I love good chinese food.
Spoiled I think, because it's a participle but I could be wrong.
Happy Birthday, Sukee -- almost
Thanks :)
I'm leaving 20 for tomorrow - off to my book. Reading Raven's Shadow now, Sprite.
enjoy your book and sweet sleeps, Liz!
hah, finally got the 9. thanks Liz!
Strange - I wrote combo when I meant compound word! Have you found it yet?
My friend also sent me a coloring book of Paris, I have been collecting all things Paris for years.
ah, great, Liz. Enjoy the read!
Thanks, lbd. Enjoy your days and hugs.
yeah that threw me for a bit, but then I caught on. No probs!
*hugs Liz* Sleep well!
Take care.
Hiya! I don't have the eight, the nine or any of the centre As...
hiya matty :) Let us know if you want any clues or stats
Yes please (that was a hint.. ;) My daughter is over for the weekend - I'm doing a kind of late ish Thanksgiving (well, with chicken rather than turkey and it won't quite be traditional, but never mind)
hi matty
am5: beloved
Off to make some breakfast, be right back.
Ty for that clue sprite.
Thank you!
ro9: compound, ro4 + place
un8: not sampled by palate
yvw :)
Oooh, got that U - now aiming for the R... :) Then we'll be off to the supermarket for a giant shop...
ty sprite for the ro9
I love chicken. Who cares about not traditional, it is festive and tasty and you will eat it in good company.
yvw again :)
Exactly! There's only three of us, so even if I could get turkey this early it would be way too much. And we only have a smallish oven
The ro4 that the 9 builds off - is that the thing cars go on?
yes it is, matty. It comes right after the plural for that.
Not getting the ro9 clue - help please
hiya Alleyn! Long time no see, I hope you and yours are well. Thing that cars drive on + try this clue in***** of the other.

for those interested, the re combo is "a dry fruit consisting of three or more carpels that separate from the axis at maturity"
I think my brain types faster than my fingers and thusly I miss a lot of words thinking i already typed them in. usually the 4 letter words.
yeah and because you are sure you entered them already, you don't see them anymore

Ooooh ... that's hard core ruru
Ru is very hard core
i have 71 to go, but not listing, even though I have met my requirements (almost) still need one more from the third row o. then i will have 2/3 done and more than 1/2 of each tile.
unless it's impossible.. we had one of those recently that completely befuddled me
a befuddled ru?? impossible
it's nbt and at least half way for me ... I am a babble wimp
I have no "list requirements"
may i have a clue for that ro9?

oh sorry
sorry?
good luck on the pie. I'm not a pumpkin pie guy. doesn't appeal to me
thought my cursing ran you off
i don't like the usual, but this one looks more like a souffle. THought it would be worth trying... bringing to Annie's dinner party this evening.
hah! you? run me off? cursing? not f'ing likely
well... soufflé is a different story.. that sounds good then
I don't like the texture of pumpkin pie too heavy
it's more like the clock... Need to et this in the oven by 2. poofaloofah.
when you come out I have to take you to a soufflé place in sf.. that's all they do
yumm ... pumpkin soufflé sounds good
Special treats for Dorens.
all friends welcome out here molly :D
*throws in the towel.. I need to list.. going nowhere*
I don't like the texture of regular pumpkin pie either. That is why I make pumpkin cheesecake pie. A layer of cheesecake on the bottom and a layer of pumpkin on the top.
that sounds delish
I never list. I just copy the grid with a pencil and paper and solve it all on my own. *LIE*
I get away without listing about 1/2 the time.. maybe a little more than that
Molly is hard core also ;-0
Delish...Ru, you have truly become a text person/Facebook person
any clues for the sa 6/21 would be greatly appreciated!
It's a Latin word for holy place

hi all.... hope you all had a nice thanksgiving
hi Sammy hope you did too
yup , thanks... just cleared up the last of the leftovers... the SOUP is on!!
my husband ate the last of our Thanksgiving meal earlier today
we had chicken
i also bought a turkey to fix next week... mostly for the cats. we will have a few meals frfoom itg and a few sandwiches and of course a huge soup to freeze
but the majority will be minced and frozen in meal sized batches for sammy and chuckie. cost is half that of cat food by the van and there is no crap in it and they love it.. it's a win-win for us
torge
Wow, Thanksgiving turkey for cats. Who knew?
