I sometimes go to the chanting mass with my dad, who is catholic, because the music is soooooo lovely. Of course I don't take communion though, and people give me some VERY curious looks on their way by, as no one - no one - who isn't hard core goes to the chanting mass
Catholics are so damn serious. And I was raised as Catholic.
I don't think I've been to church since, except for bible school programs with the kids for a couple of years.
I left the beloved church of my childhood a couple of years ago, because of reasons, and I miss it so much.
oh, and weddings and such of course

my dad and his parents all had their funerals in the same little church I grew up attending, but all the others I've been too have been in funeral homes. Is it not a practice these days to have the services in a church any more? I wonder.

not to start a big firestorm or anything, but here's a fun story, scrabbler...one of my coworkers is in grad school, and had a study group meeting last weekend. one of the women apologetically brought her kindergarten age child. really it was okay enough - apparently child was happily coloring, singing to self, not being a disruption at all. Until, child got hungry, walked up to mom, said "I'm getting hungry" and the mom said to the group "do you mind if I give feed him?" and everyone was completely okay with that, waiting for crackers or maybe some yogurt to appear. Nope. She whipped out something else.
Many people are not religious anymore, although quite spiritual.

I support breast feeding through 18-24 months--very good nutritionally and for the immune system. And cow milk is for calves, not humans.
Once my kids cut teeth, breast feeding was over.
I agree scrabbler. I made it about a year, as it was really hard for me (apparently I only made skim milk, so my kids were rails)

I tear up watching a baby breast feed, because it is so natural, just like any mammal, and I am so proud of mothers that make the choice to breast feed, especially long term. So many mothers quit after a few weeks.

I was a stay at home Mom for my first two, so breast feeding was easy and convenient. I was working with my third and that was far more difficult. Pumping and storing milk is tricky business.

Yeah, they had issues at first which is why 8.1 was came about because they worked out the problems. I just love how easy it is to bring up all my command prompts and such. I haven't had any problems at all.

I am a pc person, but when it comes to tablets the apple ones are soooo much better than the others. mine has shattered in 1000 pieces from being dropped a lot and am in the market for a new one

In a job experience, many moons ago, I was forced to use Macintosh. What a horrible experience.
I've used Apple off and on since 1980. I've only paid for Apple products.
so many people tell me Macs are great. I might try it someday for a separate computer for the house
People who say Macintosh is great are people who have only used Macintosh. If you have used Windows since your advent into the computer world, Macintosh will look like a mess to you.
They are also significantly more expensive and many programs do not work with them.

It seems for professionals, photographers, musicians/, artists and the like, that Apple is still better. I started on Apple/Mac and changed to PCs because of cost and the fact that Software became more Apple like. Yay Microsoft!.
