off the topic at hand... end of last week, we got 12 inches of snow in 1 1/2 days; as of today, almost every bit of that has melted. We are having the weirdest weather. Having some intestinal issues, but joints are feeling decent right now. Have been tired, but weather has contributed to that.
*gentle hugs for dee*
thx, rose :)

Well, I am off til the morrow. have a great eve /day! *poofing with hugs*
wtg Dee, no snow here yet this year, lots of rain though - don't have to shovel it!! and from an old Ontarian, that is a blessing!
We have had only a little this winter, but this one was so wet, it may have burned up a gear in my hubby's snowblower. The great news is we are nearing the end of winter!!

Anyone still here?
In and out, Scrabs :-)
Also playing spider solitaire :-)
Hi Zooz.
I just noticed the Qu tile.
How are you today? Did your sister have a good time with you?
We had 4 rigorous snowshoe hikes. And many Scrabble games. She won 5-3 in our games.
You live on the Isle of Wight, right?
Sounds like you had fun then!
I do, Scrabs.
It was in a crossword clue I did, so I thought of you.
What was the clue..Somewhere in the UK where it is cold and wet most of the year round lol
A crossword puzzle, and the clue was about the Channel Islands.
Must admit I am not very good at crosswords. I find the clues often too cryptic for me.
I like the New York Times crossword puzzle BECAUSE the clues are cryptic and make me think. The clues have multiple meanings. Some of the puzzles are quite tricky and I work on them for days.
Good for you, Scrabs.keeps the brain active!
hello...may I have stats for the center R pls?
Well, I get stuck and then look at the answers eventually, but that is how I learn.
Scrabs...do you do them in the paper or online?
It is in our Buffalo News on Saturdays.
RE 5/10
they are on the mensa web site under games. I like doing the sunday ones...they are harder.
RE 7/32
but that might be the LA times puzzle...don't remember
ty zooz
The Sunday NYT puzzles are in our Saturday paper. Those are the ones I do. My favorite crosswords!
'morning :)
The LA Times puzzles are not as difficult, nor are the Chicago Tribune puzzle.
Hi welki.
hi welki
i sure miss the nyt sunday puzzles - and the crossword puzzle books, well, it's just not the same
clue for the re7/32 pls?

ty zooz...nbt! and halfway
Acrostic puzzles are tough.
Patrick Berry puzzles are tough and tricky. He has published at least one puzzle book which I have.
I can still find those at the drug stores. There used to be a magazine that came out monthly called "Games". Loved that zine...it had a lot of different puzzles.
phae - the other re7/32 = to go over your steps again, like when you can't find your glasses

yw
hi all! long-time lurker, just curious...what does "nbt/nbs" mean? Can't puzzle it out in my head :)
nbt is "no blank tiles," which means "I have at least one word from each of the tiles starting at least one word"
hi redgirl!
Many Babblers consider reaching nbt to be a significant milestone on the way to completing the grid.
and "nbs" means "no blank stats," along the same logic
nbs is "no blank stats," which means "I have at least one word for each of the word lengths for this grid."
thank you Douglas! I use that as a milestone myself :) also getting halfway is my goal each day
I'm not as successful at "nbs", I have trouble with the longest words.
ok...back to lurking lol. Happy Extra Day to everyone!!
same here, i rely on clues

the te 5 is part of a set of 5 or maybe 6? sets of prayers said in a convent or monastery throughout the day
from dictionary.com the third of the seven canonical hours of the divine office, originally fixed at the third hour of the day, about 9 a.m.
