argh, another small'un
did everyone pass out from the boredom?
still here
at least it'll be an early-to-bed night
31 to go, chugga chugga
how irritating this is
i may have missed a big one, but the last 4 puzzles i've seen here have been small'uns
biggest word I have is 6
6 is the biggest word in there, says the chart anyway
I have 5 left.. but having a hard time finding them
ah of course, seldom look at the stats
finished
should I create a list?
hello everyone - smaller and smaller!
I'd appreciate it ru
wtg, ruru! stuck at 7 here

WTG RURU!!!

WTG BOOKDOCTORGWEN!!!!

good morning all
ROFLOLLL sorry honey. i forgot to use tepid water. {{hugs}} and good morning sweetheart
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend, how was your day? And bummer on using too hot water. Someone as experienced as you should know better!
better thanx. your vibes reached me this time. slept right through to 6am.
thank God. I am so so glad. It was draining you. *hugs*
don and i went out for a devonshire tea at a tiny little cafe/restaurant tucked away in the hills.
oh how lovely
i wanted to go out and 'play' in the garden when we came home but don said NO.
goooood man Don!
it is either/or, sweetie, not and-and. Going out for lunch equals not playing in the garden.
HEY!!! whose side are you on?? don't answer, i know exactly what you are going to say.
same side as Don. Yours.
nicely put. xoxox
*hugss*
sooo, how was your yesterday and last night?
low key yesterday, very much in pain. Slept a little better though, which helped. Dreamt badly, which didn't. All in all I am ok, but glad to have another low-key day.
yay for low-key days. boo hiss for pain and nasty dreams.
amen, sistah :)
fireflies. Over before begun.
oh and btw. i put the TENS pads slightly lower the other day. i think i have managed to bump my B/P up... more than a bit. *sigh*
WTG SPRITE!!
aw sweetie. *hugs* As we say in Dutch, we learn by falling down and getting back up.
i think i found another bit of the sensitive nerve..... oh, oh... ruru said to say thanx for your list the other day.
ah :) My pleasure. Thanks for telling me.
what are you doing on your low-key day today?
darling, I hope you will sleep well tonight. Take care. I have to get groceries for 2 days, and walk terra, and do laundry. And empty the dishwasher. That is it. Oh, and cook.
xoxox that's a lot for a low-key day. please take it in small bits. luvyaheeps.
I won't be in babble tomorrow morning. Have to drive quite a ways, will tell you more in email. *hugs*
okay sweetheart. xoxox
letc h
sorry and hello babblers
I'll take it..Thanks! Struggling with this one. Hello, Annie :-)
Hello zooz, so am I. I thought I could fly thru it, not so.
I need a nice cup of coffee. Be back soon.
Probably why I prefer huge grids. At least then when I have found lots of words I feel more content lol
I have a nice cup of tea. Enjoy your coffee :-)
It seems that the word gremlins who assemble these puzzles have decided that it is Spring and we should all be outdoors instead of at the computer. : D
lol I did potter about cutting trees in my garden yesterday. Is that not enough for babble!
Apparently not Zoom. We are down into the tiny, done in a few zone.
If it was a tad warmer I would not mind being in the garden again. But babble had better pull its finger out and get some large grid sizes up and running or i will not be happy :-)
I saw some people chatting about how whatever word game they play when Babble is tiny was down. That is a real sign it's time to back away from the computer. : D
Oh I do play other word games and puzzles etc but I can easily stop at anytime I am not an addict to babble!
There there Zoom. There are 12 step programs available. : D
LOL
Phantom - ocelot
Good one, Matty!
What I want to know is why, when I see a phantom, and can tell it's a phantom, I just have to try it anyway.
I do that when soeone writes it into the chat log. Even when they say it is NOT a word I still try it lol
Probably the same reason you try a word that gets typed into chat, even though you know it's not a word
Hah! Glad I'm not alone in Babble irrationality!
I think it comes from all those times you were convinced a word was not there and typed it anyway and it turned out it was there after all, in a way you could not see it.
It stil puzzles me how you can type a word in and then later ffind out it did not add it and you still needed that word. So annoying.
Did you actually see it in your word list? The only way to make sure it adds is to check every time. And then refresh before you step away for a while.
To be honest no I did not check to see if it had added but it is a good idea to refresh though.
I have tried to train myself to keep my eyes on the ADD WORD box as I type. Then I can see RED or GREEN. It also keeps me from typing words in the chat box.
I accidentally typed a space before a word so Babble didn't recognise it. Once I retyped without the space it was fine...but it's easy to accidentally add a space...
Never thought of that, Matty. good point.
Well I a done. might have another go in the garden I suppose.
Good point Matty. You can also add an extra character (miss the ENTER key and hit the " key instead) and the word won't be accepted.
good morning
Good morning all.
hello sukee
Hi car.
Yuck, looks like a picky grid :)
actually, not too bad
I'll take your word for it :)
well...got through with 20 to go and now I think it's going to be picky :(
I too am at 20 to go and haven't found a word for ages...
And I still have 4 sixes to find...
Oh well, I have hit nbt.
Well, I have to go get ready to go out. 32 left :)
Matty...do you have the TE 6/18...it should not even be a word
I do not have a te6/18 - I shall look now!
And I do now! And I agree - silly word
yup
16 left - the list will beckon shortly, I feel. And I'll no doubt find words once I list that I should have noticed before listing...
I just pulled it up with 12 left
surely sy 6 30 should have an e in it?
I thought so too
looks really weird lol
1six missing
I just got my last 6, so let me know if you need a clue
I have sy6, ou6, et6, te6, re6 and an6 - what am I missing?
I have, a,o,r,2xs and t
ah etthanks got it
sy 6 x 2
good morning! Three stingy grids in a row! Are w being punished?
Hi ruby
Better than 441 and no list.
Hello Car..
Spring is just about here, although the nights are still freezing
Hmmm...I have the sy6 which is a weird plural...is the other related?
Hello Bichon
hi ruby
plural of ansy 5
And I was even able to do a little bit of work in the garden
hello Ruby
Hi Matty
sy 6, pls
Heello Kalia
Hallooo!
hi matty, Kalia
hi bichon
15 left and really struggling now
I'm feeling much better; the radiation made a big difference with the pain. Soon I'll start reducing the morph
thats good news Ruby
How does one do that?
I've been taking about 60mg/day which only cut the pain to a 4 and didn't even make me sleepy or sick. Now the same amount takes the pain away except for the occasional twinge.
sweet
I'll have to redice the dosage slowly because I am probably addicted
so good to hear, Ruby - what a relief!
bonjour, une
Yesterday, I spent the fternoon with my 1st oncologist who was transfered away (against her will, because of her age) but has become my friend.
I have the sy6 that's the plural of sy5 - is the other sy6 also related?
Now, she's found a jobb in Aix-les-Bains which is about 50 mins. away, so we'll be able to get together from time to time.
ty matty
She worked for 3 years in Afghanistan ansd Pakistan with Doctors Without Boarders, so is very interesting
It's nice to come away from this horrible situation with a friend
its ends differently, musicians use a Sy***esiser
maybe spelt the ending wrong
I am feeling very happy and more optimistic. I can't be cured but should last a while!
ty Kalia
Thanks Kalia!
yw :)
off to hang out the washing. Give this a rest for now bye all
I have a 94 yr old neighbor who hangs up her wash which I find remarkable
Americans always seem amazed how few Europeans have tumble dryers
I'm just surprised that she can do it at her age
I dry a ot of clothes on a rack in the guest batroom which is heated
seel
sorry, no more chat for moi
Why no electric dryers in the UK?
I would love to hang clothes outside to dry. However most home owners associations around here ban that. People think it looks trashy.
Lack of space (most people have their washing machines in the kitchen). Energy costs. And there's a bit of the 'this is the way it's always been done'
I remember as a kid there was a clothes line in almost every back yard.
Our HOA doesn't allow it, but some people do it anyhow
I'm Lucky to have a laundry room
Like Ruby, I hang a lot of stuff to dry inside.
I like how clothes hung out to dry smell, but not how they feel
My mother certainly had a clothes line in the back yard
All the handwashing (or machine delicate) dries Inside or outside when it gets a little warmer
My son's cotton t-shirts last twice as long if I hang dry them and iron.
that makes senses, Molly.
Molly has a Lucky son
Hello Seain
Your son is very lucky.
bye kids, I give up

nope
I don't have TV ; )
I'll look for it online
really?
wow
yep
you've been missing all the debates then?
newspapers... or online
t I've had about all of this election I can stand. It is disgusting
i don't have TV either. I've been following online or via newspaper also.
i agree, kje
where is this parallel universe you two?
i opted out of TV in 2003. I don't miss it.
Our fmily aroad is incredulous
at any rate.. see if the commercial is on you tube kje it's very funny
me too dc... mine was 2007
*abroad are
there are some shows I may watch via netflix or online if I want, but I do not miss having a TV around. I find it hard to take when I am visiting people who have it on
I just watch Bill Maher and sports. I don't watch TV otherwise
what is the commercial for, ru?
I think American Express or Visa
ok, I'll watch for it
Have you tried Lazy Bear in SF yet or Al's Place?
no. Both are on the list... but time is too full
plus, I'm on a diet!
Al's place is lighter faire
Lazy Bear looks great and fun.. I just started selling to them
cool
I'm going to take a date to Lazy Bear after my move
uno

ok, off to work for me - hagd
bye doc
hang in there, dc... I remember politics when I lived up there was hard to escape
i miss the political gossip when i'm out of town.
be well, kje
I think our primaries here aren't even until June - I suspect this is why California is so laid back. No politcal stress ; )
but enough electoral votes to influence heavily, even at that late date. :)
To be honest.. I'm shocked Trump is doing so well
he's a master at sucking up the available media oxygen
sadly, i'm not. I'm disappointed, but much, much less surprised than i thought i would be.
indeed he is, dan
I guess it shows the sad state of the Republican Party that they can't come up with a real viable candidate. Ted Cruz is just as scary if not more so.
(didn't mean to kill the chat)
*Listens for bugle player playing Taps

check out my profile pic. :)
oh wow.. congratulations eva
that's wonderful
thankyou. :)
it really hasnt sunk in yet.
I bet
momentous changes in your life now
yeah. and it feels like nowhere near enough time to plan for it! EEP!
hope you get lots of help
I am very happy for you.
we're lucky to have both of our families nearby, and my mother is OVER THE MOON.
first grandkid?
Congrats EvaN!
that's fabulous both families are nearby.. that will be a godsend
no, but first from her daughter. ;)
TY jac!
i figure she got lots of practice with my brothers 3 -- now shes perfected it for mine. ;)
EVA!!!! Congratulations.
thankyou, molly!
As a mother who would also be over the moon if I had impending grand baby news, I will greedily enjoy every tidbit of your pregnancy and delivery. I'm so happy for you and Mr. Eva.
Eva's pregnant!!
Congratulations little buddy. I'm so happy for you!
heh, thankyou hego!
Great news.
Sonogram pictures are so detailed these days. It's so wonderful to be able to watch your unborn baby develop.
its amazing! i even have a video from today's appt!
congrats, Eva!! So happy for you! :-)
TY une!
The videos are the best. I was a labor coach for a friend of mine and I literally cried when she got her first sonogram.
It is lovely.
my poor hubby doesnt do with with medical stuff, so im kinda on my own for appts. but he is SO EXCITED when i bring home pictures. :)
labor coach?
I'd make a great impregnation coach
LMAO ruru!
My friend's husband sounds like Eva's husband. He is not the kind of guy who could go through Lamaze with her, so I was her labor coach.
my hubby couldnt even sit through a sonogram. theres NO WAY hes gonna survive labor + delivery. my mother says its on her bucket list to see a baby be born, so i think she may get her wish!
<--is with Eva's husband on that one
It's a shame, because it's a great thing to witness.
A miracle, really.
It is the most amazing thing in the world to watch a baby being born. I wouldn't trade that experience for anything.
if men had to have the babies, there would never have been a 2nd generation. :P
Well, we all know that. :)
I know a lot of men who are babies :D
hi again
True, Ruru.
Eva, our local hospitals (Eva and I live near each other) have great labor and delivery units. You will be in good hands.
my OB works solely with Sibley downtown. sounds like a pretty luxury suite!
by the time i was ready, they could have used a jack hammer for all i cared
:)
Oh, Sibley is even better than the local hospitals. When is your due date?
9/26
just a week + a half after the baby i married. ;)
Good month. I'm a 9/23.
do the last two sh start with the same first 3 letters?
is the end of the month still Virgo?
Lots of happy times ahead for you Eva. Thanks for sharing your good news. That was my smile of the day. : D
No, Libra
Libras are extra cool people
*whew* not sure i could take a second Virgo in the house!
glad to be of service, molly. :)
Yes, we are Ruru
<---Also Libra. We are cool, very balanced.
Bill and I are both Libra.
Congratulations, Eva!
<---- LIbra here too
Hego, you are on the cusp. You folks borrow from both sides of Virgo and Libra.
TY zooz!
RU! i knew it!!
that would make Hego a Viabra
Nope, I'm totally Libra, no Virgo traits at all.
*says little prayer*
I'm a total libra too
:D
zooz is what a pisces?
Nope An Aquarius.
oh
I knew there was something fishy about you :D
::high-fives fellow Aquarius::
:)
:-)
Both smart as a whip, though.
To be honest I do ot pay too much attention to the star sign as many years ago I was checking in lots of papers at my star sign and they all said something different.
Eva are you feeling urpy? If not, I hope the morning sickness stuff passes you by.
*whipcrack*
:0
so far, ive been REALLY lucky. im 12 weeks today, and other than my stomach just being "off" i havent really had any morning sickness! ::tries not to say that too loud::
Good to hear. Not everyone has to deal with that.
need coffee.
gonna toddle off for a bit. i sense that if i dont actually do work, theyll stop paying me at some point...
uh huh
its weird the way that works...
geez....shorter and shorter...
the amazing shrinking grid.
Pen, women say that all the time. : P
;)
hah!
or, as is our unofficial office motto, "that's what she said!"
babble a game of inches
A grid of few words.
Best two minutes I ever had. Oh...are we talking about the grid?
lol
isn't it premature to say that Molly?
i am not enjoying this grid...
Yes Ru, I may have spouted off too soon.
stuck on last one -- 2nd co 5 please?
hah....looking for that one now...
CO + first three letters of 60 of them in a minute
ty zooz...
got it
*snap - :D
on my way unless someone needs a clue...
hagd everyone
congrats...
i am done...
i am heading out....bye all....
I am offended by the very existence of such a grid
Cleo the Muse is in the grid, so there's that. Ok, ok, maybe this grid isn't so vicious and nasty and heinous.
Hi all.
hello ! anybody have a clue for the fifth column S? I can't believe there are 6 - I have none!
They are all sy words Harry
got it.
ty molly. nbt!
amazing - that little hint got them all for me :)
That is because you are such a clever guy : )
heh. well not so clever that I didn't manage to avoid carpool duty today - 19 to go, gotta run!
hi all. any clues for 6s? i have only one: ou.
Hi mkg. I have been lurking and have 21 left.I have 3 6's. an6 = part of a flower.
ty
ou6 = plural for what we say with boo-boos
and a te6 = a kid from 13-19
ty. got te.
New one. sy6 = Add s to syn5 = to sy5 your iPod to your iTunes. sy5 = match-up
not getting it. i have sy 5. ...
i have the sy 5 also but dont see six.
got it. ouch.
sy5/18--add s
ty
have 4 now.
re6 = to add another bottom/sole to footwear
got it. ty. keep going! ty
That is all I have right now.
ty
sy5/16 = change 4th letter of syn5/18, then add s for the 6
et6 = chemical
hi all. 10 to go!
I don't think I can find these w/o a list though
ooh just got one :)
Uno. The last 15 have been difficult. I am using Morewords.com
and another!
8 - I'm listing
Done.
Do you want any clues before I depart?
yay scrab!
no ty - I've got lickety :)
I have finished these small grids but they are a PIA. I would rather type away with big grids but not finish them.Enjoy. I need to go feed the bunnies.
hagn
Sh 5/18 is a dumb word lol
<I like the big chewy ones which I do,'t finish but enjoy hacking away
Firewords :)
Me to Ruby I feel compelled to finish the smaller ones and end up frustrated and listing, using morewords and asking for clues. It kind of takes the fun out if it.
In the HELP section, it says the object of the game is: To list as many words of the highest point value as you can find As many as YOU can find. Not as many as you can find on morewords, or as many as are clued to you, or as many as you get by listing. I think when people become compelled to finish, the game loses it's "fun quotient".
erns
opps sorry
molly it depends on the person. for me, part of the game is figuring out the clever clues given in the chat. it makes the game much much better in my view.
My comment was a response to what Meliae said.
doesn't enable guide you already to more or less words?
If that means doesn't Enable guide you to morewords.com, I don't know. I've never looked at the Enable word list.
Well, what enable uses are more or less words, i guess :P
that's my point
it selectively accepts certain European words but not all of them. There is no rhyme or reason to it
In French it will accept Brother, not sister, Shit but not tartine..
whats a tartine?
fruit tart mostly
French...it accepts shit but not thank you. It's the oddest word list ever. And yet people here defend it endlessly.
mmm.
i don't think i've ever seen anyone defend Enable.
oh people do jess
I have seen people defend Enable. And berate people who complain about it.
weird.
those same people have tenrecs as pets
can you blame them? tenrecs are sooooo cool
It is a word list that has not been updated since the year 2000. For people who are into words, that is not the best word source for a game like this.
also, you know, illegal to sell as pets in the US, but still, very cool critters.
Oh I can't wait to clue te6 as illegal to sell as a pet in the US. I bet that will go over big. : D
speaking of weird words... how out of normal conversation is the an6?
I bet it's a big hit at botanist cocktail parties. Oh wait, do botanists have cocktail parties?
don't know, i'm not a botanist
botanists serve wine on stems :D
thanks
sh5/18?
or tulip shaped glasses :D
Japanese sauce sh5
Thank you Ru. I thought the humor quotient here had died again.
The wine at botanist cocktail parties probably has a nice bouquet.
botanists are more limb-er
No, those are arborists.
botanists are clumsy as a rule...
they tend to face plant a lot
firewords. last word so5/12
some have been arrested here locally lately
for stalking
yay jes
:D
congrats, jes!
going to go pee the dog .. une reminded me
ta ta everyone
