Has anyone every suggested to Lickety that he should set his programming to begin perhaps 15 or 30 minutes after flip, so if flip glitches, his clues should still come up?
Thanks - I'll do that.

Happy babbling everyone.
Nap well and hope you sleep better tonight
Thanks Liz
liz you still here?
Still here - was just looking at some pics I took today
don's results are back. although he has severe stenosis at C4/5 and C5/6 (in the neck) there is no impingement on the spinal co4.
That's good news - explain stenosis pls
Compression? Deterioration?
And can they do anything to help him.
narrowing of the hole through which the spinal co4 runs.
Good news that the spinal co4 isn't affected.
the centre of our vertebrae has a hole all the way fom our brain to our tail bone.
Will it continue to narrow?
Can it be stabilised?
i am rubbing him with voltarin gel 3 x per day. it is a little easier to bear. and yet again he was complaining of pain, and when i asked him about his pain meds... guess what the answer was?
I forgot!
it's actually an age thing. and... ROFLOL.... yup
*eye roll*
Does he wear a watch and could he set an alarm on it?
Duh!
fang has had a cervical fusion done. when she gets back from canada/alask i will ask her why. it could be a genetic thing.
That's interesting and might be worth the trouble of talking to her about.
of course he has....but he would have to remember to set the alarm.....
i had him trained to take nurofen every morning for a while. but with the voltarin he may not have it.
True. Alternatively you could remind him with a sharp tap on the side of his head! Pain reminder, like Pavlov's dogs. He sees your hand move and takes his meds.
oh... i love it.... *giggling hysterically*
:)
i really must deploy the squirt bottle of water...
I've got to go - we've been out all day. Still have 63 left. If you see Sprite, please thank her for yesterday's list. Wouldn't have finished without it.
i will. and enjoy your evening. xoxox
Squirting water would work but I think pain is a better reminder!!!! Hugs Rose and to Don too.

Any lists posted?

Thanks
Has Lickety stopped doing lists for us? Haven't played in a while.
hello from France on this brilliantly sunny but COLD morning!
Hello from Somerset, dreary morning here, but woke up so it must be a good day!
waking up is always a good sign!
hello mummy
Hi Ruby, where in France are you? Wd are probably visiting friends there in Sept
Now it is raining, so a day for doing some sewing
southeast, 10 minutes fromAnnecy
Ok, we usually go to the Charente region, not ventured as far as your area (yet)!
I used to have a "friend" in Poitiers, so spent a lot of time there between marriags
We have been there, we always said when we retire we would travel arojnd France but 2 years on we dont seem to have done much, apart from have a house built and look after the grandchildren now and then. Plus the cat has to get put in cattery which adds to the expense of going away for long periods
I had spent a lot of time in France, both with first husband and after, but when 2nd and I decided to retire here, I took him all over France to find an area that suited us both.
It is gorgeous here, with viezs of Lake Annecy and the mountains, but he is gone now, so it's very different.
I'll stay to the end, though, with my dogs and my garden to sustain me
colled
sorry, I'll keep quiet now
Yes, I saw on the chatlog that he had passed, it is very sad, I dont very often join in the chat, just watch from the sidelines.no, no need to keep quiet, we all have things we have to deal with x
I'm poor at multi-tasking lol
Hello, everyone :-)
Iz, Lickety is still posting but just misses a few days here and there or posts a list later in the day.
Liz*
((zzoozz))
lots
No rain here yet, Mummy. But it is due to arrive here anytime now.
((Ruby))
Thanks.
lots of barking; it's warmer outside than in the house
if you're having rain, it will probably reach here by tomorrow or Monday
Oh I get that a lot, Ruby. I can sit here with a hot water bottle then go outside and it is warmer!
Exactly!
Will love you and leave you all, better get a shower and dressbefore lunch, have a good day everyone, come rain or shine!
bye mummy
droll
Have a great day, Mummy :-)
acks, I did it again! sorry, zzoozz
Yes you are due the rain on Sunday by the looks of things, Ruby.
Nothing I did not have, Ruby.
It makes me feel stupid when I do that
We all do it :-)
Well most of us :-)
Not you! lol
Oh please I am one of the worst for it!
Good morning all!
what culinary delights do you have for today then, Ruby?
Hello, Matty :-)
How is everyone today?
Have you signed yet, Matty?
waiting for delivered lunch but must come up with something for my son who's arriving this afternoon
All good here thank you. You?
Not bad - it's my birthday - we're out to dinner tonight but mostly doing more moving bits during the day
The house is spiffy, but <I'm sure he'll have some criticism
Happy Birthday, Matty!!
happy birthday to Matty!!!
My last year in my 40s...
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Oh been there done that LOL
I think lunch might be here;I hear a car....but no barking
Hope it is edible, Ruby!
That's the best time, Matty and 50 is splendid!!!*
On ne sait jamais, zzoozz....
Is it? oh..yes ..yes it is!
let's see how did it go?
I'm feeling old (though the 'time of month' isn't helping - peri-menopause - the gift that keeps on giving)
Probably TMI :)
Hello, Rose :-)
hippo birdie two ewe, hippo birdie two ewe, hippo birdie dear matty, hippo b irdie two you. xoxox
Thank you :) I love that card
lol
Acually, that re-started forme at 50, even after major chemo
Rosie, you are wonderful!
{{hugs}} dear friends
ruby, zooz, matty.... xoxox
*hugs back*
everybody loves Rosie!!!
Well of course and why wouldn't they!
I brought uppolitics late last night, but immediately ducked out; coward that I aam
roflol... ruby... i have told you a million times not to exaggerate
I had heard Trmpf's NRA speech and was seething
aww zooz
When one is this short, exaggeration is necessary!
Well is it likely that Trump will get in?
I hope not, but he has so much support from lower-class whitemen
It's a scary prospect!
And he's disloyal to America's allies like England
and NATO
Yes did he not thank the uneducated people for voting for him. I could not believe it!
Yes, and Sanders is a jerk and should get out of the way!!!
Now, everybody will hate me! Tant pis, as they say here, or "Auntie wet herself"
Well I have not followed too much of it, Ruby, so am not upto speed with it all. I only see bits and bobs on the TV so do not know how biased it is here.
(bad Ruby!!)
lol
But when he was saying we will build a wall and Mexico can pay for it. I did think that guy is an idiot.
I imagine there are both Trumpf and Sanders supporters, but I don't care any more. I've always been a feminist, having fought hard in those wars, and, as abrasive and tone-deaf as she can sometimes be, I ardently support Hillary.
Bernie has lovely ideas, but they could never be realized
Although I am sure the bricklaying manufacturer would be very happy :-)
btw... *smug look* i have caught up on all the washing and ironing, folding and sorting. BUT
Anyone have stats for the second I in the second row? The singleton?
But?
if anyone sees my fairy godmother. please tell her i love her and to come home....
I have LO4
the bathroom needs cl5ing
And the PT of that word.
Sorry - i - the vowel :)
There was an article in the NYT yesterday, laying out how totally impractical his id**s vis-a-vis Mexico and immigrants are
Yes, but the people who will vote for Trump don't read and don't read the NYT.
in7/44... unbeliever
don't have that i, Matty
true
That's the one - thanks Rose!
hi godthaab
ty rose
Bonjour rubyfoo
Thanks for the In7 :-)
That's a great name for a song!
My mother had neighbours who felt the NYT was a tool of the liberal conspiracy and that Fox News was genuinely the only free and fair news outlet on telly.
look, just accept the man is so far out of touch with reality, he probably lives on Mars
bonjour. They probably don't read French, either! Am I a snob or what?
if you can have in7, why can't you have the 5 after the prefix?!
The NYT is tool of the U.S. Government actually
just because, matty... lolll
Trumpf is a TOOL!!
That too!
with bad hair to boot!
good morning all
lol
and weird skin-coilor
you ladies can be mean!
lolll, ruby...it is really bad isn't it?
Hello, Sprite :-)
((sprite)) I've broken the taboo about talkingpolitics
*hugs zooz and rose and ruby*
yayayayayay!!!! she's here....she's here
how did movie night go, rose?
moi, mean?? LOLOLOL
{{hugs}} and good morning my dearest sprite. lizgirl sends her thanx for the list for the last grid.
ah my pleasure :) I will remove it now, thanks for the reminder
sprite, about 10 peeps turned up, including myself and himself. it was well received.
ah nice, rose :)
I need to get something to eat. Catch you all later.
ruby, that is no taboo, that is a rule sprung from experience... talking religion or politics in chat tends to provoke real bad fights
what movie? uh oh, more brking from my fluffy protectrice
didn't mean to scare you off, zooz, lol
tomorrow we are having the ceo of the asylum seekers centre to preach/talk to us.
interesting, rose
ruby, gone in sixty seconds. very much a petrol head movie.
I don't care any more; anybody who supports <Trumpf probably can't spell anyway
roflol, ruby...
and I spell his name that way intentionally. When he said "America dfirst3 my hair stood on end because that's what pero-Nazi supporters used in the US in 1939-40 used as a slogan
dinner nearly ready. please excuse my abrupt departure. xoxox
enjoy, darling
first*
bye rosie
now that I think about it... gone in 60 seconds was a prediction from rose, lol
I was hoping it was a prediction for Trumpf!
I'm finding this hard work (it must be my advancing age) - I still am missing the E in the first column and the N in the last column, second row
me, too, Matty, the same ones, also the 8 and the 4th column a
hiya matty :) Can't help yet, only have 66 words
I don't have an 8 yet. I do have the fourth column A, however...let me work out which one it is :)
Aaah - you'll kick yourself. an4/4
ei 4/5 and en 6/21
hello, Byz
Aaand now I kick myself over the ei5/5 :)
Hello, Rudy
hiya Byz
I'm not that limber
Also over the en6. I must be getting old :)
Ruby, that is. Sorry
Rudy is OK, could be an alter-ego
na 5/12 and 4/7
red boxes are due in 4 mins
Wow - that na4/7 was obvious once you pointed it out - I should probably go back to bed :)
ni 5/10
the 8 is less than favorable
maybe obvious for you, not for me! But I'm mucholder LOL
might have been na4 of us to think you could easily find it
need one of the ci 4s have the one that ends in not off but **
ooops never mind there is only one!! lol
hello ivesy
morning all!
hiya ivesy :)
morning all!
Most words are easier to find after you have found them.
ain't that the truth
horrible week, getting my medicare ready.united states does not take care of their seniors.what a shame
96 words, nbt but still no 8
aw ivesy :( *hug*
Medicare would be great, except it doesn't pay for anything here
and I've been waiting more than 5months, trying to get into the Fr system
will pay more for my meds, they take over $100 out of my soc. security...and there is one month where all meds are paid full costs ...
it is awful ruby.. if i was on welfar, everything would be paid..
In 2015, when husband was still alive and I got sick, I paid more than $40,000 for medical stuff
That's what they toldme in social services here
i beleive that ruby..if i wasnt working, i wouldnt make it
That is more than our income and I pay taxes
here
and becuz i work, i get penalized for that!
phantoms: oracle and tineid
phantom: falcon
may I please have a tiny nudge towards the 8?
even a big nudge would be nice
I would also like to be nudged!
no8/45. not + perfection
thanks rose :) wb... how was dinner?
thank you rosie
Thank you rose!
xoxox. {{hugs}} my dear fiend sprite.
POLITICIAN, n. An eel in the fundamental mud upon which the superstructure of organized society is reared. When he wriggles he mistakes the agitation of his tail for the trembling of the edifice. As compared with the statesman, he suffers the disadvantage of being alive.
tortellini carbonara....what do you all think?...*humungeous grin*
yummy
great words, Byz
awww, byz....a bit harsh
Folic is so very a word (folic acid). Humph.
i agree matty. naughty enable.
I agree, tried it twice
At least twice for me :)
My son is arriving this afternoon and I'm sure we'll be arguing about politics all week
I think he supports Sanders :(
According to the dictionary (re: folic)..."The adjective is restricted to the noun "acid" as an alternative name for pteroylglutamic acid. All other uses are very rare (incorrect according to the OED)."
ruby... try not mentioning politics. see how long it lasts.
Thank you for explaining that, Molly
I like the idea of Sanders in opposition - not sure (and admittedly, I've not researched in any meaningful way) if he'd be id5 as president
5minutes, maybe
molly, that dictionary needs a serious shake-up.
Just copying and pasting Ruby. I had to look it up.
But better than Trump. Mind you, syphilis is better than Trump.
I think he has lovely, but impractical, ideas.
The ENABLE word list includes over 172,000 words in the English language and describes itself as the most thoroughly researched, and therefore the most authoritative word list and reference available for Scrabble players1. It has become a de facto standard, particularly for online word games, and is released into the public domain by its compiler, Alan Beale. Since it is used by many puzzle authors and solvers alike, ENABLE makes the aggressive claim that it is not merely a superior alternative2 to the Official Scrabble Players Dictionary, but that it threatens to supplant and replace it, to squeeze the very life out of it in a process of Darwinian selection3.
Was it Lindsay <Graham who said, it's like choosing between poison nd a bullet to the brain
byz, dear heart...ENABLE needs a brisk walk in the fresh air....lol
It would be nice if they would update the ENABLE word list then. Since it hasn't been updated since 2000.
Democracy gives us the choice Of which machine to vote with Or choose which brand of razor blades You'd rather cut your throat with
hmmm, molly. who is they? do you know?
lol matty
I don't know. The "they" I was referring to is whoever compiled the ENABLE word list, that I find very outdated.
and a lot of words have been added since 2000!
there are more recent versions of ENABLE in use. But babble hangs on to an old version.
Lickety uses the updated ENABLE
yes. Which is one reason the clues are sometimes off
I don't understand why some foreign food words are accepted and others, not;
the server has another temper tantrum at change .. no lickety for awhile I expect is the result
co 7 36 plz
ENABLE is capricious
ronce is a nasty weed with thorns that looks exactly like a rose bush but without the flowers
hmmm, not pro + abbreviation for identity + 2 vowels
Thanks Rose!
ty, rose, brilliant!
ty rose!
np's all
thanks

Congrats Sprite!
and the definition leaves you none the wiser....lol
WTG SPRITE!!!
*hugs* to you all, sleep well, or have a grand day
OH, SPRITE!! did you see the results of don's tests?
plural for '(in fungi) an asexual spore formed by abstriction at the top of a hyphal branch.'
no darling, please tell me
he has stenosis at c4/5 and C5/6. but not affecting the spinal column
ok that could be worse
i am rubbing him with voltarin gel 3 x per day. it seems to help.
good. And he should take his pain med :)
ok must be off. *hugs*
even so...have a wild guess at his answer when i asked him when he last took pain meds!
xoxox sprite. i hope your day is kind to you.
and i am off to bed. xoxox to you all.
waiting for lunch, so hungry it feels like my throat's been cut!
Sleep well, Rose

From the top corner T, I have ta4/4 - what are the stats for the other two, please?

Happy babbling everyone!
How many words do you need to get fireworks or does it go by points?
Getting all the words gives you fireworks, but only if you are a registered member.
I see. And today how many words do you need to have them all?
171
Wow! Thank you Molly.
I forget what the other member advantages are. Being able to see the points total is one and getting fireworks when you finish is another. It doesn't cost much to join.
It sounds like it would be worth while joining.
Oh, you can also see tile stats and word stats below the grid which tell you how many words of each letter exist in the grid and how many words of 4, 5, 6, 7 etc letters are in the grid.
$14.95 to join for life.
It is definitely worth it if you enjoy the challenge and think you will play on a regular basis.
It's a way to make on line friends too.
Hi. Must jump in here and say it's great fun and you make wonderful friends. It also helps exercise your brain and as mine is pretty ancient, that's a good thing!
Playing this game has increased my vocabulary in strange directions. : D
Mine too, Molly
Are you both from the UK? I'm from Eastern Canada.
I'm from West London, near Heathrow airport.
I am from the US.
Nice to meet you.
And you, Snoopy.
Nova Scotia,Canada.
Welcome Snoopy!
Thank you Scrabbler.
People from so many different countries play Babble.
LoriP and her daughter live in NS but I am not sure that they play Babble anymore.
It is a fun game, but as a beginner,my scores tend to be quite low.
Don't worry about that. I very rarely finish. I dip in and out during the day.
Me too. Words that you didn't see in the morning may pop out at you later in the day.
Don't look at the score. Work at finding words and get better at it. Watch the chat for clues and hints, learn the lingo, and learn the odd words or Babblets that are often in the grids. Just have fun here and meet people from all over the world.
Thanks for the tips Scrabbler.
You'll gradually pick up words that we call 'babblets' - odd little words that you never see anywhere else but are always popping up in the game.
Well, I must go and do some more gardening. Hope you decide to join us, Snoopy!
Enjoy gardening, hydra.
......cute name 'Babblets' Thanks hydra.
ooh a new victim...erh uhm, babbler! ;) welcome snoopy cooper!
good morning, everyone! tadone. challenging grid today.
Hi dawg
I made it to 54 and have hit a wall.
time for a break then, scrabs. therea re a couple odd balls, but most of the words are common.
Now I am up to 67.
I have 10 minutes before I must get ready for work. It is my on call weekend.
i was wondering if you were working this weekend. hope it's a quiet uneventful weekend for you, scrabs.
Most of all I want my migraine to go away. I am 22 hours into this one.
UGH, I'm sorry to read that you have a migraine. 22 hours of that pain is beyond tolerance. Hope that goes away soon! and it's time to get the rest of my day started. Hagd/e/n
I am going to a Headache Center next Fri, hoping for some new ideas as daily Topamax has not provided the relief I had hoped for.
Bye, dawg.
Matty, if you are still here ♪♫Happy Birthday to you♫♪

Good morning
Does anyone have the stats for the upper i in the fourth column, please and thank you?
Thank you!
I just got the cutest video from my 8 year old niece
Happy Birthday! What a nice treat for your b'day!
happy birthday, mattygroves!!!
in7/44 car
TY ChrissieDee
Got it!
:)
Thank you all! Jeff has gone to the house and put the king sized bed together (I had insisted he'd need help - he felt, I feel, he had something to prove) and he's done it - yay! We're getting there bit by bit
happy birthday, matty! it's my cousin Jan's bday too :-)
does anyone have clues in their profile?
It's a good day for birthdays. My (ex, and indeed, late) father in law also shared my birthday
Note to all women about getting a man to prove something...insist they need help. Genius Matty.
:D
MollyL has a list...
It really is very clever. Insist they need help, they then feel they have something to prove...voila, you don't have to help them.
And to quote the actual fact sheet for the bed: How to assemble your Lifestyle Bed. Lay your components out and match them to the diagram below. Ask another person to help you.
Hahahaha...like men look at assembly instructions.
Next you will be telling me that they ask for directions.

Does anyone here have a Sleep Number bed?
I had wondered if they were a good idea or not to own car?
Yes, that is what I am wondering as well
my brother and sis in law love theirs...
i laid on one once and got my sleep number at the time but those beds are not cheap
Great! I think I would too.
2nd column i?
But of course not, MLF!

Can you really count on sleep number beds?
lol
ruru can you really count on any beds?
I know a couple that has one and they rave about it. They are insanely expensive though.

hi dan
huh...."folic" is not in this dictionary!!!???
wow.. Jeanne.. that's an acidic comment :D
LOL! I had to keep my latent snarkiness in check!
Oh good. We can't have "too much snark". : P
Research on the word "folic" says it is not a word by itself, it is only in proper use as a modifier for acid. Don't shoot the messenger.
hmm.. not budging .. thinking about your list molly
ha.. I should write that more often.. just found ten
It's like that magic "ask for a clue and get it within a second of asking". Usually means if you look a while longer you will find it on your own.
<---now trying words that don't work..like decorn
Why isn't that the meaning of cutting corn off of a cob. To decorn the cob. Stupid Enable.
my sentiments exactly
And Enable will take a military acronym such as AWOL but not DEFCON
Thank you, MollyL! I just tuned back in here...I never even thought of such an issue with a word...Thank you for doing what I should have done (rather than resort to snark ;-} )!!! Hope you're having a good grid today!
My comment about too much snark was a joke. I think sarcasm is a great brand of humor. Those without humor must lead a very dull life. So snark at will.
my comment was about snarkiness... :D Bring it on!@
Somehow I think AWOL has been a word since at least WW I, and throughout the English-speaking world - but DEFCON?
Jeanne I thought it was odd it doesn't take that word either folic
is the be 7 a compound word?

*Puts on "It's Not Unusual" so everyone can do the Carlton dance
my mom actually threw her underwear at Tom Jones in Vegas once
So you come by it honestly, then.
you mean by taking off my underwear?
:)
I have never understood the whole women throwing underwear at men. You'll notice men don't throw their jockey shorts or boxers at women. : D
thank God for that!!
sometimes we throw other things at them :D
Throwing things at people is a bad practice in general. Unless it's money.
that's what I meant
Oh...

nice lazy day for me.. grateful for a lazy day too
I'm grateful for a long string of them.. Technically, that's what I should be having.
I had a brutal week driving .. yesterday it took me 3 and 1/2 hours to get home from SF
Well, yeah. That traffic is brutal! I had that same drive on a Friday last year. Not fun.
After days in Sedona, hiking the Grand Canyon and a decent flight from Phoenix, that was my welcome to CA last April. A blip between two terrific little trips.
well were you in your cute fun car?
yes
so it all evens out. Life is good.
well cute cars aren't any different in bumper to bumper traffic :D
No, but at least you're in that ultimate toy that you've been able to give yourself and that's something! You could be in the twenty year old rusted ford pick up truck in the next lane.
I don't seem to be able to finish up if I continue living in the chat world of Babbleonia. gottogo

:-D pretty tired, not remembering much at the moment! hope you are well.
you too, stiddy ;)
hi, thought I'd come in at the end for a change.
hey melon :-)
((melon))
hey melon -- did you hear that I decided (midlife crisis?) to join the local community orchestra? PERCUSSION!!! I am not good, but I am enthusiastic!
it's little --- all-volunteer, but most of the members have played professionally. So I am learning a lot.
Brava, stid!
Isn't it fun to be part of an ensemble. I loved orchestra. All the fun of performing with none of the stage fright.
I am really enjoying it -- I don't actually get stage fright with this instrument... I am so focused that I don't have time for it!
And I get to be right in the middle of gorgeous music for the pieces I don't play in. Win-win!
Cool. What instruments are you playing?
In an orchestra you really are part of something bigger than yourself. Yes, playing and being in the midst of great music is a dreamy experience.
Everything percussion -- because we're little, I bought my own drum set (need to upgrade already, though, I am very particular about the timbre and pitch of things). And I am the only percussionist after the fellow who was there got really sick last year.
I am struggling right now with playing some cadences for a medley of Broadway tunes. I can get the snare OR the bass, but not reliably both in most sections. So that's my main practice focus.
Our percussionists were equipment fiends. One fellow had a whole array of triangle beaters; I asked them if they were metric or English—hehe.
I am glad I already knew how to play several other instruments and can sight read relatively well, but there are times I really muck it up when I am trying to play the music that is written for four or five and there's only me...
A drum set! Wholly Toledo you are playing with all four limbs! I am impressed.
LOL I have two triangles -- one is worht $15, the other is more like a hundred. but the tone of the $15 one is sometimes what a piece calls for.
I am only just now trying to figure out the high hat... it's for home listening only at the moment!
Wow. You are into it. I'm so happy for you. Now, I am about to hit the hay. I have stuff to do Sunday morning. XXXOOO
[poof]
But with teaching, during the school year I mostly only practice at our actual rehearsal... I am too tired and busy most days. I improve a lot in the summer, though. Only 15 more teaching wake-ups until vacation...
Sweet dreams melon!
I am off to eat pizza... *poof*
