we appreciaate your thoughts - luckily I am 2 hours north of any flooding, but our communities have been sending rescue personnel and supplies to the flooded areas
there are still people trying to get back to 'normal' here, three years after our 'once in a century' flood - navigating through the red tape is tougher than wading through the water for lots of people
we went through hurricane sandy and there are still people on staten island wading through paperwork

so many bridges and roads were destroyed thata it is still hard to get into some aares - last night they showed another of the schools destroyed - everything had been under water and mud - put up a list of all of the music instruments, and other equipment (microphones, speakers) tht were damaged / destroyed
need to get out to be with the grndkids for the day - BBL this evening
I was lucky. stayed for 2 days w/o electricity and water. then bobby and I walked down 24 flights dragging luggage and my daughter was waiting and took us to here home in CT. we couldnt get back for 2 weeks. the neighborhood was in bad shape for a while.
i remember, annie - until you got back online, there was a lot of worrying going on about bobby and your welfare

DH & I took some stuff to the ReStore (It's a store where people take their old fixtures, windows, doors ,etc & they sell things there for cheap. All the $$$ then goes to Habitat for Humanity. We took in old kitchen hardware (2 different types of handles), some plumbing fixtures, a window that is in good shape but came out of the shed I took down, a box of 1000 fancy upholstery decorative tacks, & other odds & ends & we came home with lots of great ideas!

My steps are for people who don't have a photo editor and just want to re-size with basic computer functions. Most people have access to Paint.
I see that molly --- much more useful for those who don't work with photos all the time
Babble has not re-sized things automatically in years. Hence the HUGE icons some people have.
and I don't. Using how to use a digital camera and properly use photo editting apps is on my bucket list
I use irfanview to edit my images. It's free if anyone wants to fool around with it.
Almost all digital cameras will default to images in HUGE sizes. And that is great if you are into photography. But if you want those images smaller for email sharing or icon posting, you need to know how to re-size them.
I got started with all the photo stuff in 2003 when we lost so many houses to a forest fire. I scanned all the photos from my grandparents, parents and ourselves and burned them onto CD's. Then I got interested in making video presentations with our photos --- much more interesting: stills mixed with videos, background music and voice overs.
