a cartoon with very irreverent humor. It shows on the comedy channel and is in is eight season. It even had a major motion picture. A Musical no less which is one of the gems of our movie library. 5:14 am

superb display of blatant cheating yesterday! come on down... Brainless phin lawyer-1 why do you bother?

6:36 am

Thanks Bulldog I got the 9 for 90 Great hint

6:46 am

To my dear friend Avatar, the true reincarnation of a Hindu god..... I checked yesterday's stats and the player rankings and could not locate you. This means that either my eyes are failing me, you don't play or you go by more than one name here. Whatever the case, I find it interesting that you would offer your "J'accuse" like the word in the puzzle today, a fart in a windstorm. If you are right, and I am cheating, would I listen to you? If I were cheating, why did I come in third? If I were cheating, why am I not #1 in the rankings? If you will notice, I used the subjunctive mood denoting a condition contrary to fact. I do not believe you are reincarnate of any higher life form, nor do I believe that I cheat. You are, however, entitled to your opinion, and I, as a REAL lawyer, am sworn to uphold your right to express your opinions, wrong though they may be. Have a great day!

8:29 am

I'm off to a great start! Thanks to all the hints, the 1st word I found was a 9 for 90!

8:31 am

Me too Minski!

9:06 am

Good deal! I just got a 7 for 40 ;)

Avatar - the subject of cheating has been discussed to death, yet no one has been so rude about it as you. Congratulations! To most people, this is only a game to play for fun, so why does it matter if someone cheats or not? It's not like there's a prize for being best in the rankings.

9:21 am

Does anyone have any hints for the "bit of a swear" for 40 (7 letters I presume) or the 8 for 60?

9:23 am

it is connected to house building....

9 for 90

124-1690 back to work

9:55 am

WHOOT LOL...the only real reason I play is to see the chat log!!! LOL

10:08 am

Hello again. Sorry if some think of me as rude! I would suggest that cheating itself is far more rude than merely identifying offenders. Lawyer-1, if i am mistaken then i apologise. I was a frequent player a year ago but became disillusioned by the obvious cheating that went on. I believe that if someone manages to attain all of the possibilities for a board that they are augmenting their vocabulary in some manner. Admittedly, you do not fall into that category and so i apologise. I do not believe it is always necessary to pussyfoot around the subject when a brief (but rude) comment may suffice. Name and shame. Brainless was definitely cheating. I am not in the rankings because i haven't played since September (look into the archives if you wish) precisely because of this aggravating desire of some to appear to be more able than they truly are. I don't know how it works now but players were known to be erased from the rankings for cheating, however there were less of us then. It probably makes no sense to operate that way now. Have fun people. Babble for fun and keep it real. Adios.

10:12 am

chill

10:21 am

Who really cares *that much*?!.....

10:22 am

Cripes! This is giving me jip. I've got the 9 (thanks guys) but i've no 8s and only one 7. Whats your most obscure word?

10:24 am

I think it's the one I just stumbled on - a 6 for 30 for "one who gathers peas" LOL

10:37 am

just got a good one - cheap at half the price! 7 for 40 :)

10:42 am

Other than my two sisters, and a neighbor, how many of you would recognize me if we passed on the street? How does this game enhance my income or reputation as a great wordsmith... Cheaating, if indeed it goes on, harms no-one - if someone needs to see her/his name at the top of a list, what does it matter to the rest of us... it's like cheating at solitaire - you're playing aagainst yourself. One last thing - how do you know, or prove, that someone has cheated? I wouldn't (even) know how to get into a cheat log...so my awe-inspiring scores are entirely my own. <blushing prettily, she exits the stage, to thunderous applause.>

I have 3 x 8 and 10 x 7 are there any more anyones found

10:45 am

I could really use an E next to that G!

10:55 am

The swearing 7 for 40 is british. There is a 6 for 27 version as well.

11:00 am

Boy down for a nap mulher?

11:00 am

The British swear for 6/27 and 7/40 is also a gardening term. :)

11:02 am

146 words 4.86 2046 I'll be back later. Have fun today!

11:09 am

the sweary one has something to do with the wrong hole...

11:21 am

Ya, he's down. I gave him his meds, some milk, and he passed out.

11:26 am

nice sweet...bad puzzle by the way. ICK

11:27 am

Ha! this is educational. I didn't know that 'in the act of a particular amphibian' was a word! (There's a grammatical term for it which eludes me at present) AND its 7 for 48...

11:29 am

I've only got 84 words, but here is my countdown: a x 5 b x 9 c x 2 d x 7 f x 8 g x 18 h x 1 i x 1 r x 14 s x 13 t x 6 And the child is up....

11:30 am

oops - misleading clue - only half amphibian - it can't breathe on land... sorry! ;)

11:33 am

it actually means 'lustful' according to the dictionary...

11:34 am

ick! sorry....

11:37 am

Just found a seaweed. It can be used to make gelatin.

11:56 am

If it's a 4 letter word then it was a major part of my microbiology course

11:59 am

mul-if bank calls give them my work number pls yelled at man for not taking trash out..told him if he wanted to no longer participate in that household duty then he's responsible for cleaning the bathrooms...HAHAHA <evil wife>

12:01 pm

got my 2000 148/2018 and thats it for me

12:11 pm

ConXshun - can't wait to find an amphibian that can't breathe on land.... tough life (and a short life, I'd think).

12:17 pm

Aha, I have the lustful word, didn't know it'd anything to do with amphs..more fishy, from the sound of it.

I can't find the lusty word and I've tried everything that would make the right number of points... what does it start with?

12:58 pm

it starts with a fish ;-) I had it, didn't realize it, looked around for forever, and suddenly realized it was already on my list!

1:10 pm

yeah - sorry about the clue, Christine - i did say it was misleading. for a minute I thought an amphib. was a synonym for fish - until i realised there is nothing 'am' about a fish... But you had it anyway. so all is alright, no?

Heh, I already had it too.

1:11 pm

Sometimes I have tunnel vision - I saw DENIGRATE, when I first opened the puzzle - and it just won't go away - it's like a monster in the closet - you know it's not really there, but...

1:14 pm

yeah - just like draught

1:15 pm

or even degenerate - but thats much too many e's

1:18 pm

Oh, Sweetie.... three's this pore li'l thing, floppin' on the river bank, and it's Momma is yelling "you take after my side of the family... get back here"

1:20 pm

ConXshun, maybe not draught, but dr---.

1:21 pm

Anyway, I'm stopping. Had a wisdom tooth extracted today and concentration is no longer what it was... 108 /4.78 /1462 Have fun all!

1:24 pm

hehe - it looks like I'll never live the amphib thing down! ;) g'nite

1:35 pm

Don't you love the way that going away and then coming back to the puzzle makes you see very obvious words that you didn't immedialtely see before? I love how that happens.

1:39 pm

Saozinha .. UK - a nation of multi-taskers... we garden, swear, and behave badly, all at the same time. Well y'know, it rains a lot, there, so we need to do as much as possible, in as short a time, as possible.

158/2124 and thats really all i can find

2:37 pm

"At 11:56 am Jeanette said... If it's a 4 letter word then it was a major part of my microbiology course" Mine is a four letter word worth 5 points. I first found out about it in a cooking class I took, and we learned how to make gelatin with it and different fruit juices. So no more Jell-O with animal gelatin in it for me.

2:39 pm

Does anyone else have a count for how many words they have per letter? Preferably someone with more words than I, which is 86.

2:41 pm

I don't have a full count but I can tell you that I have 2 H words.

2:46 pm

133 - 1857 A 12 B 17 C 5 D 9 F 11 G 24 H 3 I 1 N 1 O 3 R 13 S 22 T 12

2:53 pm

11xD

2:54 pm

Technically for someone to cheat, the action they take has to be against the rulles of the game. There are no stipulations about using ANY dictionary or word finder, indeed by the rules listed even those who have written their own word finding programs aren't really cheating just using a more expedient method of finding the most words. Ethics would have us reason that a word finder is cheating, but then the only real benefit this game has is the expansion of the vocabulary. I for one enjoy finding the words I don't know. Let us lay to rest this topic of cheating once and for all, stand in awe of those who find all the words if for no other reason than the amount of time it takes to enter the words. And Lawyer dosen't cheat I will testify!

3:10 pm

To runningforhome, bulldog and the others who have expressed their opinions concerning cheating, rules, my integrity, etc., I thank you for your comments. I have been giving some more thought on this subject. First of all, I refuse to apologize for my scores. I will admit that I use a number of words which have not come to me through my knowledge of the English language. I have randomly typed reasonably looking letter combos for words. I remember strange words that were used by others in previous puzzles that fit. I have used online dictionaries on infrequent occasions. I have even found words by accidentally misspelling other words. These, in no way measure my intelligence, but, frankly Scarlet, I don't give a damn. I have noticed others cheating, and that is on their conscience, not mine. If it makes you feel that good to "beat" me, ask and I will provide you with all the words I have for that puzzle. There are a number of people on here whom I admire for their perserverence, whether they score 500 or 5,000. Some of them I respect and use for targets. I love shooting to catch and pass bulldog, for instance. And, if I do catch him, it doesn't make me a smarter person nor a better person. I thank him for our little competition. Quite frankly, had the challenge to my integrity come from him, I would take it more seriously. OK, I've rambled on long enough now. I think I will stay away from here for some time to let those who find fault with me cool their heels a bit.

3:11 pm

6 c words so far

3:14 pm

I liked mulhermujer's count better. I was doing much better in comparison to that one than this new one. :-)

3:14 pm

I think cheating is lame, but pointless. I think calling someone out publicly in regards to a silly game like this is rude and even more pointless. If I found out bulldog cheated on freecell the other night, would anyone care? Would there be a point if I posted it on the internet?

3:17 pm

Well said to both lawyer-1 and bulldog. Let's hope this matter is dead and buried.

woo hoo! my first nine letter word. and i never even knew it was a word.

3:23 pm

Lawyer -- don't leave us. Until I came to this game, I considered I had a good vocabulary - I read a lot, do crosswords, etc. Well, I soon found out otherwise, but that really doesn't matter - I like puzzles (jigsaws, mystery books) and I enjoy looking for words, following the clues others give (smirking, a little, 'cos I found that' nine' before anyone posted a clue!!).... and when I get a word I don't know, I click-on the definition, and remember the word days later, and look for it on the grid. Okay, enough rambling (or am I just babbling?), my feeling is you should stay around... and continue to give me clues, so that everyone thinks I too am a genius for my astounding word-list.

3:36 pm

I just got a F word that I completly do not understand the definition of and probably will never. But at least I have the word.

3:40 pm

quitting for now at 39/355

3:42 pm

He's up here with me. Going back and forth between his stand up alphabet toy and the Baby Galileo, whilist sucking on the Aveeno bottle.

3:43 pm

His second nap was only 20 minutes.

3:47 pm

EEK that's not good...

3:53 pm

Who's the drunk now? Alcohol has only one H ;)

3:56 pm

GGRR!! This computer gives me fits! But it's almost 5pm so I'm outty. I'll be back later hopefully. So far 79/4.76/1105 Later...................

3:56 pm

LOL

3:56 pm

no calls from the bank yet? ARGH

3:56 pm

Lawer-1 "me thinks thou doth protest too much"

4:01 pm

There was a call earlier, but it was long before you wrote the message to give them your work #. I'm pretty sure it was a financial institution. I told them to call back after 3pm.

4:05 pm

Oh, pooh - I can't find the 8/45, or the 8/65. I can't find Ryan's stone - I thought something to do with agate, but there's no E in place, and that wouldn't be enough letters for his word. Oh yes, I cant find the second wedding word, or the musical word. Oops - Ryan's word is a crystalline enzyme, not the same as a stone/rock, I guess. Going to return my library books - play nice and post clues, while I'm gone.

4:07 pm

They didnt' leave a number did they?

4:18 pm

More for some letters, fewer for others: 6xA 19xB 6xC 7xD 12xF 24xG 3xH 1xI 1xN 3xO 15xR 26xS 10xT

4:29 pm

Hey - I already had the swear 7 for 40! Just had no idea what it meant in British slang. :)

Point total is low but here's my list: a 13 b 17 c 5 d 9 e 1 f 9 g 28 h 3 i 3 n 3 o 4 r 21 s 20 t 11 148/4.65/1751

4:47 pm

Word count coming up - short on Hs for the moment... 130/2317 15xA 18xB 5xC 7xD 10xF 20xG 4xI 1xN 3xO 12xR 22xS 10xT 3xU

5:18 pm

Just found another enzyme! This one is 5 letters for 10 points, so don't look too hard for it.

5:28 pm

Laura - you here?

5:32 pm

elhombre, Can only find 2 U's. one 7 letter and one 5. Both start with UR. Help

5:55 pm

There is a 6 letter UR...

6:02 pm

thankk you czdad. i will try some combos from there

6:19 pm

The 8/45 is the enzyme mentioned way earlier by ryan. If you are familiar with the very common ending for enzymes, this one has the same ending. It also starts with a. With 45 points it can only contain one letter for 2 points, the rest are one point. So, now who wants to trade that for a clue to the 8/60? ;)

6:54 pm

Wow! I finally got the musical instrument for 6 points then the plural for 14 points

7:15 pm

Oh, I'm so smart, me figured out the rankings. Me used other name on only three puzzles. On each I scored over 3000 points, now efferyja is ranked 9th. and bulldog is ranked 37th.

7:19 pm

Due to this discovery I now vow not to use the new name of efferyja. I will now only use Bulldog as is only right. It is cheap of me to only play the ones that I score high upon. I was very upset with the rankings though. I scored very high(top 15) for almost a month and remained in the mid 200's. I am sure that the puzzle only counts the previous month, and that the total score has more bearing than the order you place.

7:29 pm

crystalline enzymes.... I don't know what that means... crystalline makes me think of sugar... but no S in place; then I remember what happened when the hamster was sick (and it crystallized) but can't quite spell URINE. I've spent too much time here, today and yesterday, but I agree with Tolinya - I enjoy the chat. Seventeen new books from the library, so this week it's only an hour per day, babbling my brains out (I know, that's gramatically incorrect, but you know what I mean)

7:29 pm

How come airbag is not a word? It will not take it.

8:41 pm

FINALLY got the enzyme!

8:50 pm

For my first time ever, I got a 9 letter for 90 points. Yeah! It starts with f.

8:56 pm

Oh, that means there are 2 9s for 90!

9:08 pm

I have a 9 for 90 that starts with F. What letter does the other one begin with?

9:15 pm

B - there are clues for it early on in the log - it's the Army unit one.

9:15 pm

No it's not. Never mind, I'm not with it today :-P That's an 8 pter. I have the 90pt F one already. I really need my head examined :-P

9:16 pm

Make that 8 letter, not 8 pointer.

9:25 pm

darn! I was hoping that there were 2

9:33 pm

I know, me too - I was busy looking for a 9 letter F!!!

9:37 pm

Oh, no time to play tonight but wanted to pop in and look and what do I find? -- high drama on the chat log! I could have entered a few words I found but it was so much more entertaining to read the log. Lawyer -- don't leave just b/c someone who claims to not even play is cranky! I've learned lots of new 'A' words from your lists -- and they show up on future grids so I get more points ;-D Bulldog -- glad you figured out the ranking thing and I see you are now rightly ahead of me -- I have never gotten more points than you except when you haven't played at all! ;) And on the whole cheating thing . . . I've used the wordfinder posted here a few times when I've been really stuck and *still* been unable to find words (you don't need to comment on what that says about my wordsmith skills) . . . how much does it really matter??? ;-P Can't wait to tune in tomorrow . . . Have FUN all! ;-D

9:45 pm

sweet there is a star trek convention in town it's only 170 dollars to get your picture taked with Captain Kirk AND Spock, Oh man I gotta run!!!!!!!!! Irony intended, though I love Star Trek.

9:48 pm

and there is a nine letter f word it is worth 90 and maybe this clue will help you find it. The fat guy who fed the Bantha in Return of the Jedi could be considered to be doing this when he was feeding the Bantha. More Sci Fi humor. :)

10:03 pm

I'm lost on the 7 for 40 that's a British swear word and a gardening term. Which letter does it start with?

10:07 pm

S

10:08 pm

bulldog, thanks for the hint, now i'm obsessing over the 9 letter....any other hints you might be willing to offer, like, the number of syllables, or if it is made up of 2 words??? i'd be happy to trade for a couple of hints for some 7 letter 40 pts (its the highest i have...) thanks:)

10:15 pm

Jeanette - this is a three-parter, that is three different meanings for the same wors..... begins with SO----- a) returfing b) until recently a punishable act c) an Englishj swearword

10:15 pm

it is an action word that means feeding a large animal,it is not a common word. it starts in the upper left and had a six letter root word. these are not new clues, all can be found earlier in the log. here is a new one the six letter root word is often used in a phrase that means you are getting killed. Someone might say that you are cannon F-----.

10:18 pm

thanks so much bulldog, you are awesome! any hints you need?

10:18 pm

Got it! thanks for the letter hint. I thought I had tried that one before but I guess not lol

10:19 pm

Ryan if you read the log you will realize that I do my best to help as many people as possible and I keep it as clean as possible. But I try to use humor as much as possible, some times as you know I am a little gruf and tough and a litle bitof a bully but i do everying with care. Sorry about the bruise on your noggin. Wendy's helmet is enroute. Should I send you one as well?

10:20 pm

Nah I don't need any help today. I'm doing fine. 163 words 4.94 2468

10:21 pm

Dani -- head due south on the left side of the board, then turn NE Now, for the love of Pete --- what;s this bloomin crystalline enzyme????

10:27 pm

The word has part of an amino acid first and then it ends with the common enzyme ending --e

10:29 pm

Thanks Christine, I just got it. As for the enzyme, i'm lost, but i have an 8 letter military related word starting with a b.

10:41 pm

Dani -- I have that... but I'd like another letter I, so that I could make a 9-letter word. Ryan, I'm begging you - put me out of my misery - tell me it'a all a joke and there is no 'enzyme' word.

I found the enzyme. I was amazed when I typed it in and it was accepted. It starts with an A.

Sofari - where one can see the elusive couch in its natural habitat.
