good morning all
{{hugs}} and good morning dearest friend. congratulations on your milestone. i did remember but was out for church movie night. did you have an enjoyable day? and night ?
hello my dear friend *hugs* no worries, I know you thought of me. My day was awesome, a beautiful day of family constellations and then Caya's diploma event. They honored her. Best of the school in the biology olympiade, one of the best of the land with her German finals, graduated cum laude... really amazing.
i am guessing you won't forget this birthday. xoxox
ummm my night? Horrible, lol. My body is not happy with me.
never :D
too much of extreme happiness, prolly.
nah. Too taxing for the ole bod. Thursday summer event at work, sitting from 4 pm till 10 pm. Then all day family constellations and then all evening sitting at school.
ugh... not what i would call a slow day. poor you!!
it was worth it, honey. I will survive my two days of extra pain. Am a very proud mother, and a happy 50 yo.
how did movie night go and how are you holding up?
i understand. tomorrow, for me, Deacon's footy game, then church, the lunch with youngest son and his wife. meanwhile, yours truly has a bad case of coughing. not sure what it is. either hayfever ++++, or a chest cold. neither welcome at the moment... lol
aw sweetie :( Try and take the best of care of you.
honey, the double feature was exhausting. youth minister has to pick another time/day. even so, plenty came which was all to the good.
phantom, and a bugging and persistent one: peahen
mind you, when it IS in the grid, I miss it
*giggling* ikr ? tried so many times to see if it was there..
you too? Lol :D Sister of my phantom soul!
honestly, i tried and tried, but couldn't actually find it...lol
same here. Well, we will see if announcing it as a darn phantom will chase it off.
and i wanted bruhaha. obviously another phantom.
ohhh that would have been awesome. Don't think it has ever been in one of our grids
when are you celebrating your birthday? and how ?
we will celebrate on september 17, a big party, combination of my 50th bd and our 20th wedding anniversary.
wish you could be here! And Liz and pugs too.
ohhh, how about that ? well done to both of you.. another major milestone achieved.
my love gave me a birthday card yesterday and he wrote on it: I want 50 more years together with you!
that wasn't supposed to be a stopper
apologies honey. have a scalp cramp. verging on screaming. just taken a magnesium tablet
what a lovely thought for Rob to have. xoxox
awww my darling. I was afraid it was something like that. ((((rose)))) wish I could make this easier for you
s'okay. magnesium alredy kicking in thank heavens.
praise be for magnesium malate
ikr ?why won't our appropriate department pass it for sale here?
Good morning!!
Are both ((rosie)) and ((sprite)) both here? How Lucky can I get.....
whoot!! and he~~r~~es RUBY !!
isn't it freely available for you in Aus? We can buy it at our local pharmacy without a recipe
*hugs ruby* Hello dear friend, how are you doing?
hehehe and guess what, ruby... I am 50 now!
I am soooo happy to see you. Continuing laptop problems keep me from being online very much
ugh, how frustrating, ruby
nope, the relevant department won't pass it for sale here. stoopid so-and-so's.
how do you manage to get it then?
I know! Happy Belated birthday!!! 50 is a great age!
thanks ruby :D
sprite, i import it myself from the us of a.
Every evening when I atch the news, I check the temps of where my friends are. Hot for Sprite, chilly for Rosie. Hot here, but I love ity
oh ok. Didn't know medicines were allowed through the postal tyrany of Aus. I so would love to send you dutch goodies but here they say anything foodlike or such will be destroyed.
*giggling* ruby... xoxox. it may be chilly here but himself and i are about to drive north and have a bit of a break from all the cold.
not hot here yet. Lots of rain and temps below normal for the time of year
*whispers* pugs parcel came through okay. and it had chocolate and caramelised corn kernels in it. i don't think she declared it.
I might give it a go then :)
I guess the heat wave stops ju_st shortof the border and they don't focus on Holland on the weather maps.
worth a try. she declared the clothing and ornaments etc.
no wonder, ruby, we are so very small
I just had a bad experienc' with int'l expressmailing.L I sent a package of misc. stuff to Burt's daughter, including his (valuable) Watch. We didn't itemize th contentyts (the P.O. clerk didn't suggest it) and it got held up in Miami.
They charged about $1OO to send it, held it hostage, and demanded $140 to get it back and thrratened to destroy it.
nasty :(
I had to pay customs in both directions
good grief !! and that was legal ??
Mail service here, like electricity, is intermittent and unreliable.
imagine if all mail services held people's mail to ransom !!
It's more than annoying, but where to fight it? ANOTHER lawyer? LOL
loollll noooo let's not go there! You have lawyer issues and bills enough as it is
do you not have a government department you could complain to?
bi
I am not bi, but I still believe it is having the best of both worlds if you are
and g'day to you too, marigold
and there are no bi's
Hello marigold. It's nice to see you
This sitefeels like friendly civilization to me!
:) we can be silly, but we are usually friendly. Don't know about civilized though ;)
The good things are: my beloveddogs, the garden, my new Fr lawyer, the Tour de France and the European football championships.
More civilized than my surroundings!
*hugs ruby* I love it how you are looking at the good things. You are one amazing woman.
And, of course, my wonderful friends!!!
that goes without saying, lol
And my pain is unde rcontrol!!! I'm very Lucky to have the most coimmon cancer!
amen for that
I need to say it because you have no idea how important that is for me, as isolated as I am.
And most of my friends speak English!
or something that comes close enough, grin. Yes ruby, you may be far away in miles, but you are always close to our hearts
btw sprite. remember when i went out with june? i asked himself to do the washing. a load of darks and a load of lights. he did the darks then told me today he didn't realise that the lights needed to be done also. *sigh* he had to rummage through the lights to find all the darks. just what was he thinking when he only washed his bathroom linen and not mine. he claims i didn't tell him to do the lights. for pete's sake. this is an adult...why do i have to spell everything out?
ikr? You just tell him: "And P.S.: water is wet!"
why isn't obvious to him ? and if not sure, ask me. don't wait for two days until i say... btw honey, where are my towels and the bed sheets.
spell everything out, IN WRITING, my first husband used to step over the trash rather than take it out (his one and only household task!)
I just came back from walkinf the princess! The housekeeper comes on her days off to walk the pups and make sure I'mnot dead on the floor, but this is the second time I went with her
it can be frustrating for sure. Our men's brains are programmed to focus on things away from home.
how did it go?
It's alrerady very hot, but it was a (painful) pleasure!
and then they complain that a) we are not treating them as equals and b) we are nagging them to their fair share of the house-hold tasks.
My back hurts bujt I have to budge more; I don't think lying around all day is good for me
true. Try to build it up bit by bit and not go for long walks just yet.
Although I miss my husband, life is much easier withodut him
sorry about the typos
ruby, magnesium malate tablets. are they available from your chemist? and before you start them, you need to check with your doctor that your kidneys can handle the extra magnesium.
I drink Hépar, a magnesium-rich mineral water
I guess you have missed Burt for a lot longer than since his death, darling. The man you married was gone long before.
The back problems arestructuraland there's nothing to be done. At least the tumor bothers me less
That's true, of course, Sprite! He was amazing until he turned 80, brilliant, funny and interesting.
still, building up the muscles step by tiny step will be kinder to your body than big leaps
But once his long decline began, the good times peteredout
At least I'msmiling again
yeah, that was really hard on the both of you, ruby. You had a tough job. *hugs*
yay for smiling :D
did we lose our rose again?
Waving at Rose's back....
ruby... what sort of magnesium is in your mineral water? if it's not magnesium malate the chances are the magnesium is NOT getting into your blood stream
sorry my dear friends. i am sneezing so much. and after 5-6 sneezes in a row i feel very weak.
ruby, it is worth checking out. I can't begin to tell you how much difference the magnesium malate makes for me and for friends of mine. We are all indebted to rose.
hmmm. Those are good questions to which I have noanswers. I just know that particular water is specific for transit
*hugs rose* Poor sweetie :( Sucks to have to sneeze.
i really think is hayfever and not a cold/flu. i don't feel sick in any other way.
What makes you sneeze, Rose?
You would go crazy here between the household dust, dog dander and pollen!
here in the netherlands we have a record year for pollen. It is really horrible. I am sneezing my head off and so is Rob, and usually we are ok, not much hayfever. Our daughter is going nuts, she is allergic and she has to take double doses of meds
usually spores/pollen ruby. but we have had a lot of rain which brings down spores and pollen i am not used to.
dogs do not worry me ruby
We have morepollen than usual and also more insects.
poor Caya. that is not good news sprite.
Yesterday I rescured a magnificent both the had lost its way.
Do Caya's meds make her sleepy?
fireflies at last. *hugs* to you both. Ruby, please take care and don't overdo things. Have a lovely day! Rose, you take care too. I hope the sneezing will abate and you can sleep tonight.
WTG SPRITE !!!
moth* with fuzzy antennae
yay for Sprite. I amhappy to have seen you this morning!!!
enjoy your day sprite. xoxox
ruby, sweetie. love you heaps. i hope your day is enjoyable. xoxox
((rosie!!))
Good morning.
Morning Sukee.Did you manage to get your transport sorted out the other day?
Not totally yet, still have to wait 2 weeks to hear. Ridiculous. I can use another system right now though.
Costs me $3 more each day I use it.
I know I qualify, since I have been using the system for 10 years... Silly you still have to wait like people who are newly applying.
It's stupid that you have to wait that long since you've already been in the system.Atleast you can still get out but not great that you have to pay more.
Too much red tape at times!
Morning Babblers :)

hi gran un+ho4+past tense
hello bichon
good morning all
good morning wvteach!
good morning babblers
morning annie
hi Trif :)
boy, my neighbor is going to town with the lawn mower out there....
kind of early for that, isnt it?
I would say, but I guess it is after eight
and its not right under my window or anything....I don't have any "neighbors" actually - he on one of the adjacent streets
still loud as anything though
the eternal conflict between the early morning risers and late morning risers...
I have a pigeon nest on my terrace. It has a baby and 2 unhatched eggs in it. The nest is high up and I dont want to disturb the nest until the birds have flown away. Does anyone know how long it takes for eggs to hatch?
I get it, he wants a nice lawn...but he's been at it for WAY longer than seems necessary
oh how exciting annie! I would definitely say it depends on the bird.
not sure annie, but that is prob google-able
according to google, between 17-19 days for common pigeons
I cannot see the next but a maintenance man climbed up on a ladder and took a picture of them
if only one baby has hatched, that might be all that will be happening.
thanks, Trif, for the info..will google later too
and then 4 weeks until they can fly away.
okay, then I am in for the long haul. Thanks, Trif. I am always googling something. Never thought about pigeon googling. I feel (sort of) like a gramma.
you can still use your terrace, sweetie.
this is cool - the momma pigeon sits on the eggs from nightfall until about 10am. then the dad takes over and she gets a day to herself. VERY evolved!
Yes, They walk back and forth on the railing and I dont have the heart to chase them. The floor of the terrace is a mess but I will put up with it till they leave.
I need some caffeine. Going into the kitchen to start the coffeemaker.
ha trif
gives a new meaning to society is going to the birds
I'm back and hahaha, kje
nice day in NYC, annie?
right now, it is humid and will not be as hot as yesterday. Which is nice, I am taking my friend out to lunch today for her birthday. She is 83 and we know each other since 5th grade. Bobby is coming too.
wow! 78 year friendship - I love it
where will you lunch?
Me too. I'll be 83 in November.
oops, 5th grade, not 5 years old, so not 78 years... but I still love it ; )
She loves Appleby's so we are going there. I am so-so about the restaurant but their ribs are decent and they have PARKING. A big plus in Sheepshead Bay.
yes, 73 years. And good friends all that time.
yeah, parking is priceless... as someone who lives in a city without it
well, I raise my coffee mug to you both... happy birthday to her
I will tell her. She will love it.
: )
ahhhh, that lovely moment when you type something incorrectly, and enable accepts it!
indeed trif
ok, I must go... 49 left. We are going hiking down in Big Basin so I have a strenuous day ahead! but hopefully beautiful too

and i DID clue it, so...
how about fives?
first na 5 please...
Indian bread and plural
ruru? can YOU see my chats?
i do hursh
ruru or hurshy, help me out please
INDIAN FLATBREAD
THAT IS THE CLUE
who is the youngest person who Babbles, and who is the oldest
oh, thanks
idk about current babblers, kap, but we've had regulars in the past who were 12/13
There's got to be several older than me - 73
really?
we have some that act like 12 year olds sometimes :D
you do, with that icon, r.
I think annie is in her 80's
she just said 83
Flosey is in her 70's I think
thanks, ruru, never heard of this bread before
anniebrook is 82
it's a pretty common word here button
Lawsy, Buttonman - the person who gave you the clue - twice - was hurshy!
well I'm now 88 and abt to get to work--have a book to publish--
+ once by Kap
Order it in Indian restaurants.
I'm a relative baby, 70
Me, too - feel positively frisky now.
robia
excuse hiccup.
that's creative kap
yes, Nancyboy.
that was a creative scam.
I'm not so sure it was all that creative - but it was certainly thorough.
I can't believe how long it went on for.. and how we all fell for it.. me included
It still hurts - there was so much emotion invested in Nancyboy!
phantom: ahoy
There WAS a person saying all these things about cabana boys etc.
and ahead
Yes, iI've tried it twice!
yes I tried ahoy didn't work!
what do you mean kap?
I remember he was often very funny. So if the person wasn't real, who wrote the funny stuff?
it was some other babbler, under a different name
Who was on Babble simultaneusly?
yeah
Now THAT hurts because that person could still be here? Or no.
i think we figured out who it was and they left
I think it was a gay couple in England.. who gets their jollies off of fooling people. They had another scam with other babblers and the same drama at the end
but of course, they could be here under a third name
Did they get money, or only emotionally manipulate? I don't remember how it played out
probably just bored people.. they didn't get money
The emotional manipulation was pretty spectacular.
Serena won woohoo
someone else did collect money for something, i don't remember who
yes. and this keeps coming up, like picking at a scab. i wonder why and who is gaining by this?
at least I never remember NB asking for money or "Frank"
FW.
gotta run to the dump.
congrats mixi
Kaplan asked a question TO.. it's enlightening
Serena played very well.
it's just, we just talked about it YESTERDAY so
Serena won woohoo?
It started yesterday. BYW I had nothing to do with it.
btw
tennis Wimbledon
What's woohoo?
woohoo is an expression of delight, joy, or glee
Ah. Thanks. I take it you are atennis fan?
oh.. sorry.. thought you asked earlier. It doesn't matter much to me anymore.. I think they've moved onto other websites to create problems.
I thimk it's a cheer, not a game
Got it, thanks.

... Annie ... were you thinking of the unit of currency? ... I'm sure that I've seen it with an "i" but I checked and the board would accept it with a "y" instead
I was typing "denari"..it is in Morewords. okay, thanks dose. Yes, I was thinking of a unit of currency
it's a denarii is the correct spelling
<---not to be a smarty pants
oh smarty pants, you are right!
both are words, but different meanings...
i meant denary and denarii....
... that works in the puzzle too ... ... must be the the "y" is singular and the "ii" is plural ... ... far too Greek for me
... I stand corrected
different meanings, dose.....singular is denarius, i think...
not to belabor the point (ahem) but denari is in Morewords.
*whistles*
denari is a different monetary unit....
different country....
but probably same origin....

I've been watching Le Tour....Chris Froome took the Yellow Jersey today....
I am rooting for Alejandro Valverde and Teejay VanGarderen
As a Brit I obviously want Froome to get it again....
Ruby: Go to Settings > System > Display and you should find a spot on the menu where you can change the size of your font to at least 125%
And I want Murray to triumph tomorrow
I like Cavendish but think Froome is cheating
How is he cheating?
Tiny motor in his Wheel? Just kisdding! Sorry
Ruby are you using windows?
(Tour humor)
Lol....
I read that some unscrupulous athletes prep by using a hyperbaric chamber to make it easier for them to breathe when cycling under stress

I have been a King fan since he first started writing. I'm not sure I would wear that t-shirt though.

Have you ladies read Mr. Mercedes?

They are all really good.

i really like this series because they are detective stories.
well, i just learned something - had no idea it was part of a trilogy until now - will have to read mr. mercedes and end of watch now :)
You don't really need to as they are all stand alone stories, but they are worth reading.
i ran across this author
you just ran across King welki?
author's t-shirt a while ago - your icon reminded me of it: http://tinyurl.com/zcz3xxx

Hello Babblers
Hey friends 😊
Anybody here watching Orange Is The New Black
I'm watching Wimbldon
you & RuRu, I guess, Lil Monkey. Ruru is a big tennis fan.
But... If anybody here fancies binging on a really watchable Netflix series... OITNB is highly recommended.
So I've heard Soodle... all my co-workers talk about it.
Clue for pr7 ?

Something is wrong with my LIckety List. According to Lickety I have all the Ps, but my Babble Tile Stats says I have 20 of 21 words. Hmmm.
ty for pr7
OK I figured it out. I have all 21 Ps now.
yw Peri
Hello all. Coming out of lurk for help. Can anyone clue the un6/24 and 7/44? It's FTW. Thanks.
un6 - remove the tresses?
un7 - not optimistically anticipated
OMG. Slap me with a mackerel. Babble blindness at the finish. Thanks so much Vicuna! FW. Bye.
<-- loves it when other Babblers admit their Babble blindness. Makes me feel marginally better about myself...
My youngest, Suzie, as many of you know, is spending the summer in New Hampshire & loving every mili-second of it. This weekend, she has travelled to Montreal, with 9 of her new found friends. How lucky is this kid??
Sometimes I think I'm wearing two eye patches while playing :-)

both clues for un7 were great I was just a little slow in figuring them out
how are you TO?
hi folks - just got back from taking daughter and grand-daughter to see 'the secret life of pets' - a theatre filled with children was surprisingly better behaved than the last time we went to see a movie (skyfall) filled with adults
hi Welki
hey welki!
-- and just poured the grown-ups drinks (and made the grand a strawberry milk). we're having a BIG thunder/lightning storm right now, and the grand daughter is sitting on the floor comforting my scaredy-cat border collie (the golde retriever couldn't care less about the storm)
hahaha - up to the minute welki-news. now, you're all caught up
I don't know if it will get released overseas, but I saw a beautiful (?!) movie this week called Goldstone - Highly recommended
nice? i want to see that movie
it sent shivers up my spine
maybe we can watch it on netflix in a few months
(and owl, if you were asking about the pets movie, it wasn't at all what i expected, but very entertaining)
well worth watching in a theatre because of the scenery unless you have agiant screen
i don't see a us release date
I hope it will come here, though. It does look interesting!
I'll have to do some work on Ps - I missed nearly all of them. See you all later
later lynxxx

Why is te6/21 a word, but ti6 isn't?
the te6 milks enable for all it is worth
It's udderly ridiculous ..
Oh man.. and here I was wiping my brow thinking that was a close one that Ru wasn't here!
But it looks like you're all keeping abreast of him!

Clues for the un 4 and the un 6/24?

Oops. Typed in the wrong place.

Geez. That was too easy. Since when is that a word!? But thanks!
un7.. just got it. a dream that you don't think will happen..
I tried the present tense of that and it didn't work. Now I tried the past tense and got it. Thanks. And good night. I'm quitting!
Ok. Sleep well!
looks like people milked that one for all it was worth
I wonder if that te 6 is pasture-ized
You're kind of lactate on the uptake there.
don't try to butter me up m9
I wouldn't cream of it.
(side note... I was actually buttering toast for Gage as you wrote that!)

No one else is chiming in to stop us, so they're really given us full rein. It's all their fault!

Hey.. I already cayused that one!
oh.. that's good cowboy knowledge

Hey.. don't fence me in!
(I know it from the lyric.."on my cayoose, let me wander over yonder 'til I see the mountains rise)

I don't know. Didn't see it.

good for you.
More like around the Y. At least in this grid ;-)
