I'm glad I used my low ranking name. I worked too hard to give up eighth place. Tomorrow had better be a higher scorer or I will become dissatisfied.
I think the puzzle runs on central time. I'm in Las Vegas which is Pacific time and you are in Europe somewhere. The netherlands by your accent perhaps. yes the seven could be said to have to do with the appetite ConXshun

Huh and ConXshun -- yes, I have that word - I was thinking HONE, when I saw it, but your clue is closer to the word, itself. When I started on this board, I played only 30-45 minutes, then another 30 in the evening.... the last couple of days, I think I've been here for 24 hours... I think the rotten grids gave us a lot of good chat. I'm rereading Walter Mosley's books, so tomorrow I'll be here for only an hour.... then I'm gone 'til the evening. This addiction is.... addictive, I guess. How is it possible I still have only 41 words for 681, it seems I've worked at this bloomin' puzzle most for sooooo long.

if you read the log, you'll find all sorts of clues in there. there's 4 7-letter words so far. Christine listed them 1-4 for easy finding. good luck!
I've got a 7 letter word, if i try to enter the five letter word that it comes from, I am told "Oops! your word doesn't exist in the puzzle!" - even though said 5 letters exist in the same order in the 7 letter word....
never mind, after putting in a few other words, it suddenly decided to take that one

I also have 17 6s - only 1 6 starting with W. But the boggle solver does indicate that there are 18 6s, so I'm assuming there is a second W 6 that I just haven't found yet. Can't believe I didn't have the first 6 T. I had the 7 that is based on it . . .
what is a boggle solver?
There is a web site where you can put in a boggle board and it will solve it. I found it by a yahoo or google search. You can specify the minimum number of letter per word, so you can use it to find how many words of each letter count. But, it displays a list of solutions as well as the word count, so you have to be very careful to not look at the word list when looking at the count, unless you want the leg up it provides. I like to have the total word count, and words per letter count as a goal to work toward, but I don't look at the solution. A warning - it is not perfect. Generally, there are between 5-6 fewer words and 5-6 more words than the solve indicates. That's because it uses a different dictionary from this game. Yesterday, the solver said 100 words, but at least one person found 101. Today it says 80 words, with 4x7 and 18x6.

Yep, that would be boring. If you use the solver, you have to scroll to the very bottom of the page and look only at the word count, averting your eyes frorm the word list. It's not easy, but a few of us use it that way. :)

For those starting the game later than others, there are apparently 16 6s (modina gave starting letters just a few posts ago) and 4 7s. There are good clues to the 7s earlier, including 1 post with clues to all 4.
I can confirm that I also have 18 6s, and the same starting letter distribution as modina.

OMGosh - I can't get away from hee... watching a program on PBS, on pandas. reading a (medieval) mystery, and playing babble, all at once... no wonder I'm overstimulated, when it's time to sleep... poor little thing.

I generally have 2 or 3 books going at a time. Today finished 'Big Russ & Me' (Tim Russert) and 'Six Easy Pieces' (Walter Mosley) and I'm now working on 'Wine of Violence' (Priscilla Royal) - don't know about this one, bit soppy, actually - not quite a bodice ripper, but maybe trying to be Brother Cadfael, y'know?
I used to be more literate and read a lot but grad school and kids have slowed down my reading . . . and now I spend time on the computer ;-P Some of the best books I've read recently have been ones I've previewed for my kid -- there are actually some interesting stories out there for kids. . . Iceberg Hermit, The Year of Miss Agnes (or anything by Kirkpatrick Hill), etc. I'm always curious what others are reading -- esp when you said medieval mystery! ;-)

At present, I have 17 books checked out, I've read only 4, so I need to get the otheres read within the next two weks. I'll do it, then I'll order uo some of her books. Earlier this week, someone mentioned Pleiadian Agenda - I've ordered that but there's only one copy available, and I'm #3 on the waiting-list.
Some of my postings look like they're written by an illiterate -- but it's really my fingers, moving faster than the keyboard can handle.... I really can spell, but I keep dropping Rs and Gs.... aaargh.
While I still worked, I read about 5-7 books, per week, and thought after retirement I'd have time for more, especially since I have leg and spine problems that make it difficult to move around.... but no! that's when I got a computer, and turned into a slug. How old are your children? Do you enjoy reading with them, or are they old enough to read to you. A couple of years ago, I started rereading my favorite books from my childhood.. Puck of Pook's Hill, the Arthur Ramsom books, a few old Enid Blyton's..
