hi, all.
hi, mel!
hi, yerself, VMD!
phantom: fenugreek
good to see you!
thanks. it's been a while.
How are you?
A good sweet year to all celebrating Rosh HaShanah
tu 7/40
I'm fine. Still taking ceramics at my community college. Substitute teaching in my school district three days a week. My kids aren't giving me headaches (;
Sounds like a full plate :)
You?
Shalom Everyone
Our first granddaughter was born on 7/6, and we have been busy enjoying her. Have a sore hip that needs to be checked, and traveled to OBX in the late spring.
Hi ARB!! Shalom!
A granddaughter! Mazal tov!
A sweet -- and healthy -- New Year to everyone. We've been travelling for the past couple of months, and I have babbled at odd times.
Truly blessed :)
You have been missed, ARB!
Re: hip: I had a total hip replacement 2 1/2 years ago. The operation was nothing short of a miracle for me.
A sweet new year to you, too, ARB.
I think I may be heading down that path...
Granddaughters are a miracle. No hip replacements here, so I can't judge that!
glad to hear you did well!!
The best thing was just this: not going to sleep in pain and not waking up in pain.
Definitely, ARB!
That is miraculous, Melon.
I had the "anter-lateral" approach and a cementless prosthesis, which meant I was stading 6 hours post-op, hme in three days, ditched the walker at two weeks, worked half days about four weeks post-op. Climbed the Eiffel tower a year later.
Not sure if this is bursitis, RA related, or requiring surgery... have an appointment next week to start checking.
"antero-lateral" misspelled.
RA, that is rough.
Wow!! Impressive. Do you know what kind of hip you received?
Zimmer, DePuy, Biomet??
I don't know! I forgot to ask. All I know is it looked like a car part. I think the joint surfaces were ceramic.
hmmm gunge is not a word
I live in the orthopaedic capital of the world, so it will be interesting to see what happens :)
The x-ray showed bone-on-bone OA. I had put up with pain for I'd say about a year.
Sounds familiar, mel...
I'm in Cleveland, which ain't too shabby. I had mine done at University Hospitals.
hi, ursh :)
hi, ursh.
Great place to go!
I <3 UH.
Now I have to hit the hay. Good luck. I will try to drop in on babble more often.
[poof]
Sleep well, ((mel))
fireworks, and I am off, too.. Sleep well, all!

hi there, I've never played this game before...anyone have any tips for me?
cattar
oops!
Hi Faith. The basics are simple - find words and enter them into the Add Word box (don't worry - we've all entered in the wrong box - even those of us who have played for years) - there are some weird, very very weird words, as Babble uses something called the Enable dictionary - it may be worth looking that up
There are a bunch of links down the bottom of this page - it is worth having a look - there are hints and tips. Also, the Help link above this box is worth looking at
When Sprite comes online, have a look at her profile page - she has tips and also a list of weird words that often appear
ok, ty so much!
And welcome! Make yourself a cuppa, settle down and have fun
:) ty
Here, this might be worth a read as well (shameless plug - I wrote it) https://goo.gl/NWQrQR
Hi Faith, also keep an eye on chat because there will be plenty of clues put up.
Phantom: absquatulate
Sure, Byz. Absolutely. ;)
thanks!
That should be in there Byz
Right, things to do, back later. Bye all.
Crikey, I wrote that review over 10 years ago. Where does the time go?!
One second at a time, Matty :-)
Good point, well made ;)
hagn/d all happy babbling
Is anybody here? Good morning
Hello (Ruby)
((zzoozz))
ratta
How are you keeping?
better get my head screwed on!!
lol
It's relly cold here, very hard to get out of bed!
And my LiveBox doesn't always function from upstairs
You need to get a fire started in the kitchen to warm you up!
I had to put my heating on from yesterday :-(
That will be on now probably until next April/May :-(
ÃŽ'm too mazy to clean the fireplace, will have to wait 'til tomorrow when housekeeper comes back
<-- no heating except in bathroom and guestroom
lazy*
Snuggle up between your dogs that should keep you warm :-)
warm and stinky!
gore
Well yeah there is that bit lol
sorry, I'll have to stay quiet
They are beautiful, butnot the cleanest
I always use a hot water bottle too with a furry outter so it does not get too hot for the skin.
Good idea, but the last time I tried it, it leaked!! French manufacturing!!
Never let on put you off, Ruby. They really are good at keeping your hands or legs or stomach warm.
on =one
I also have on for when I go to bed..keeps my feet nice and toasty!
I seem to have a problem typing ONE today lol
I am not to sure about getting an electric blanket though. As I have heard some horror stories about those.
How is your weight putting on process going, Ruby?
I've found the best solution -- regular bedding and an old fur coat over the top. Thee duvet built up too much heat
I'm back to normal, 45 kg!
ergo
can'tchat, so sorry
What seven stones is normal?
For me, yes. Last year I was down to 37 and I looked like I9 was already dead, just hadn't Fallen over yet
Well as long as you are feeling better and your doctor says you are at a healthy weight. I will not nag at you then lol
More than this, I'd be a chub!
Yeah I have never ever been more than nine stones. No matter what I eat I just could not put weight on. My metabolic rate must be very high.
Did you get much of a harvest from your garden this year, Ruby?
It was great for a while, but the dry summer ended that
The second round of figs formed and fell off
There are still roses and sedum and the aconitum are getting ready to burst into neon blue-violet
I had about three apples on my tree this year and they were the size of a hazel nut. Not sure what happened to them this year. Mstbe next year there will loads of them again.
That sounds nice, Ruby!
It's a lovely garden, eveen when neglected
My fusias are still in full bloom.
this year, I have to hire a real gardener for some serious pruning and shaping: roses, fig tree, mirabeloles, quince, etc.
<-- loves fuschias but doesn't have any
You can get small fusia plants from most shops these days and they soon settle in and grow big.
Are they OK if there's a hard frost?
My cherry blossom tree has gone mad this year but not sure how and when to prune a few of the branches back. Must google that at some point to find out the best way to do it.
When you finish, you can come here and do mine!
Yes they survive the hard frost here, Ruby. I mean the flowers and leaves will drop off and it goes into hybernation but once Spring is back it soon goes back into life mode again.
No worries , Ruby, I will get pruning gear ready :-)
And PB for me.
let's have hot chocolate with a lot of cream in the PB!
ooh that sounds nice..why not indeed!
'tis the season, almost!
I know it has come round again so quickly!
Although i will be having cake today as it is my sister's daughters birthday today.
Last year, there was no hard frost and barely any snow, very different fromwhen we first moved here
That is how I like it though. Mild winters mean lower bills for me lol
It doesn't matter here because there's no central heat anyway
There you go Zoom. Keep saying it. Mild winter. Mild winter. Mild winter.
LOL I am, Molly. I am!
Has the storm passed you by, Molly? Or are the hatches still battened down?
Hi again. May I have stats, please, for the lone E in the top row?
Hurricane Matthew is currently still in the Caribbean. It will most likely affect Florida but its track this far north is as yet undetermined.
EG 4/6
Thanks. Can't believe I didn't try that.
Weirdly, I have 2 8s, but still no 7s...
Hi Matty
Welcome, Matty :-)
Same here, Matty
Morning Ruby! How's France keeping? And Zooz - what's up on the Isle?
Nothing much going on here, Matty. everything is winding down for the Winter shut down lol
Bet Little Canada has loads of school kids though!
How is the new house going? Got it how you want it yet?
More or less - still need to get pictures up but we have rugs and a sofa and end tables and oodles of bookshelves (but not enough for all our books but we're running out of room!)
Stuck on the O and the 8's
Little Canada?
The O I've completed - would you like stats? Or clues?
OG 4/6 monster
OY 4/6
duh!
OT 5/10
Gunge is so a word.
thank you
Yeah i have so many books but more shelves to put them on :-(
Once you put your pictures on the wall, Matty it will make your hous into a home :-)
We have a few up, but more to go
Yes gunge is a word!
It's,hard to give away books (or Italian suits). Postage for books is too expensive!
Little canada is a holiday center for children , Molly.
Year 6s (6th graders) seem to go en masse in the autumn
I remember years ago, Matty, when I fierst moved here I was on the beach with my parents when a group of the children were on the beach also. my parents said to one of them..are you having fun here..and one of them said yes it is great. So my mother asked where abouts have they come from..and the young lad thought for a second and then said we have come from England! LOL
First*
Is there a ferry?
There is, Ruby.
Haa!
Ferry or flying is the oly way to get here, Ruby.
Or swimming.
lol yeah i suppose you could swim across. I kow some people do for the bestival.
I used to live on an island in Miami, only accessible by ferry. Except for the mosquitoes and Russians, it was Paradise
My typing is really bad today.
See you later, kids
Have a great day, Ruby. And try and keep warm.
Have a good one!
Thanks. I was confused because Little Canada is a city in Minnesota.
Just found a EN7 Matty.
I had better crack on with the day. Back later. Happy babbling everyone!

we also use bells at Christmas time....small bells with a handle....

We can share information through email if you would like(I have arranged about 80 pieces so far and composed some also). Would be happy to send you one or two to see if you like them. My email is.......aebmusica@att.net.
