I have 2 7-40s. Both start with D and they are very similar words, at least in the way they are spelled. The consonents are almost the same, the vowels are different.

You cannot make a 7/26 or a 7/45 for anyone who was asking about them earlier. It's mathematically impossible, since all 7 letter words have point values that are multiples of 4.
Stripe = as in with stripes. Stripped, would be to remove.
Cannot think of any more words for striped that fit the puzzle. Even tried the online Thesaurus. Better take a break and come back fresh after a coffee.

The solver I use does not use the enable dictionary. It has been wrong by a few words many times, so it might be again. Did you find all the words, or is that just from a solver?
It's from a solver... I use the enable list, but I once found a word in the grid that wasn't accepted. I looked in my enable wordlist end there it was...

Yes, but not pronounced like doctor. Three of them use the same 3-letter prefix. The 5th would be a slang word. You might expect to hear its 4-letter counterpart, equivalent of darn!, more often. They are 40,44,40,40,36 points.
Oh, and so as not to confuse, I don't mean that three of them use doc. One is doc, then 3 others with a different prefix. :)
Here's some clues on the E's: 1 is a plant 1 is something a secretary would do 2 are something a politician would do 3 are something a programmer would do

jennbee - There are tons of clues throughout the log. What haven't you got yet? anceps posted the totals by number of words per letter count, so that will tell you how many big words you're missing and we can go from there.

The C starts in the lower left. It is Scottish, but is a witchy word. For the Us, they are 6,6,7,7,4 letters.

I'd guess it's not a witchy word you've ever heard of. At least, I know I haven't. Atalante, being British, knew the word. I found it knowing the score (not too many possible ways to make it) and then noodling. It's actually a compound word, though neither word's original meaning has anything to do with the total meaning.

The witchy word is a compound oof two words - 3 and 4 - and you probably have both words in your list...

I have the following 7's. d/7/40, d/7/44, d/7/40, e/7/44, e/7/40, p/7/40, s/7/28 and the plural for s/8/45, and s/7/32. I am missing 7 seven letter words and one 8 letter word. Would someone please tell me what they start with. I know there is a c/7/44 but I cannot find it.
peri - The word is 7 letters for 44 points. If you look to the right, you'll see a chart of how points are calculated. So, you would add up the points of all the letters in the word, then multiply by 4 for the 7 letters. That means that the points in the word add up to 11 in this case. If each letter were 1 point, it would add up to 7 (obviously), so you need 4 extra points somewhere. You know it begins with C, worth 3 points, or 2 extra points. Now you need two more extra points. The Qu is too big at 6 points. The only other multi-point letters are P (2 extra points) and D (1 extra point). So, in your 7-letter word you'll use the C, and either use the P or 2 Ds. A hint - this word uses the P.

Four of the U words start with the same 2 letters, the fifth word is an annual bean grown in India. Does that help? I found the fifth one in my Scrabble Players Dictionary. But its not in the Dictionary.com.
