It would be fun if hoboier was a word. More hobo like. : D
I guess what you do to flowers when they go brown is hyphenated
It is an accepted word, but does not exist in this grid.
If you are talking about the word that also means followers of Jerry Garcia's band.
good afternoon all
Hello everybody! Welcome back, Sprite.
hiya ruby :) Thank you.
SPRITE !!! SPRITE!!! HUGS AND KISSES. i've missed you. how was the holiday?
RUBY !!! thanx for your sweet email and pics. xoxox
*hugs rose* Hello my dear friend. Missed you too. The holiday was a success. We enjoyed quite a bit of it, not the least the being together and camping out. And we found out that some things we don't care for anymore, so we will be thinking of how to adapt. The beds Rob made were divine!
((rosie))
how clever of Rob...
it was cruelly cold though, lol... we even had some wet snow and one night below 0 degrees C. Also, moving camp every day is too much for my body. And Rob's knees are no longer up to this much canoeing and camping. Solutions will be found, though, because we had a terrific time apart from these (minor) glitches.
how have you and Don been, sweetie?
my boys have once again outperformed Don's kids. it's his birthday tomorrow and my youngest, Josh, and his wife are taking us out for brunch.
yay for your kids. And booh on Don's children. They should be ashamed of themselves. If all goes well, Don will receive an e-card from me tomorrow. Prepared it before I went on holiday.
both of us a bit achy. weather has turned bitter. and as usual, we both are feeling it. ahhh, bless you sweetie, thanx, he will be really chuffed.
have an appointment with dr john next thursday and if he agrees he will redo my lower back nerves the following saturday.
*sends warming and soothing vibes to your collective aches*
sounds good.
*bouncing those vibes back to sprite* xoxox
:D We will heal eachother so soundly, our time together will be like we are still spring chickens
things are starting to happen here. we have picked up our plane tickets and our euro passes have arrived.
oh woot!
oh.. and fang is taking us out for dinner tomorrow. i think she is feeling it very much without her mum and sister. she has definitely become warmer.
miracles never cease. Whodathunk she would lose some of that coldness.
I hope she doesn't stop at taking you out for dinner. It would be nice if she made an effort to make Don feel appreciated, at the very least
i think don is aware of ow much she is feeling her loss. and she doesn't want to lose touch with her only remaining relative who speaks to her.
Don is too good for her. But it will be worth it if it means he can have some kind of pleasant relationship with her.
oh, and it is don's youngest's birthday soon. he bought a card, and a gift, then asked ME to write the card.
:) aw, bless his heart
LOLOLLL i asked him what he would say to her if she was standing in front of him.... and he said....
hello Kat
roflolllllll
*shaking he4* AND i live with th4...
how about: 'yo , you twit, why can't you be bothered to be kind to your fa6 on his birthday at least? Oh, and congratulations on yours. Or up yours. Not quite sure about that.'
*explosive giggles*
oops, don is looking at me strangely. the show on TV is quite serious and i am sitting here giggling.

I am ever so sorry. Repetitive typo
sweetie, just tell him "Cass". He will nod, sigh and turn back to his show
*snort* yup your reputation precedes you
it can't be helped, sigh. We all can be no more or less than we are, right?
RIGHT ON... SISTAH....
:D oh rose, we are gonna have such a splendid time. And the men can shake their heads together at our antics. They will love it.
ikr ?? i am so looking forward to the ;look on Rob's face when he realises just what a nutter i am.
he doesn't expect anything less, I think. He knows the kind of people I let into my heart. He himself being a fine example. *blinks innocently*
*giggling* AGAIN
not a word i would use in association with you darling girl... innocent
we had such fun this holiday. We can laugh at such small things together. Quite different from the other couples we were there with. They had quite a bit of irritation going. We didn't... lots of giggles though.
okay... so lovely to catch you when you are home again. i have to take my meds and turn into a mindless....you fill in the gap
what? where? I am sure I have NO idea what on earth you could be talking about. *repeats innocent blink, eyes wide open in between, eyebrows raised, turning head in bird-like manner*
so like don and i... we are always trying to make the other laugh. even with just a look...
*grins* You go and fall into that mindless chasm, sweetie. Sleep well. Give Don a warm birthday hug from me tomorrow on rising.
love you sweetie. enjoy your day... catch you at the flip tomorrow. xoxox
love you right back!

Hi phaeton. I just started on the grid.
Hi Scrabs...it started out nice, but has turned into a stinker...lol
Hi from Miltenberg, Germany. A medevil town
I'll have fun for a bit then I have a busy day.
Guten Tag, bichon.
Hi Bichon
good morning, all!
Hi Eva and Baby K.
Hi Eva
Hey, Hey, Hey.....Morgen Bichon, Wie gets Heute?
hello Dr Scrabs! hiya phae! hola bichon!
hi aeb!
Alles gut
Ahhh, sehr gut!
Good Morning all
Hi aeb
oh, Dr Scrabs - i am SO READY for poor baby K to get rid of this RSV! hes mostly fine, but this little rattle in his chest just wont go away.
The cough/wheeze from an RSV infection is usually resolved in 3-4 weeks, so I hope he hasn't developed asthma--chronic airway inflammation.
hi Srabbs
ugh. it's been like 4 months.
they didnt think it was asthma, because the nebulizer doesnt really make THAT much of a difference.
Does he cough a lot during the night?
he has recently picked up a cough again...about 2 days ago. and hes snotty/congested again.
How do you treat asthma in a small baby?
Albuterol doesn't relieve airway inflammation. Albuterol is a bronchodilator.
they were thinking that the RSV wasnt gone yet because he had gotten a few colds sorta back-to-back
Bichon, same as for older kids. Inhaled corticosteroid (Pulmicort by nebulizer or Flovent inhaler with a chamber)
what about a nebulizer
at his last appt, i asked if it was possible he had allergies, but they said he was too young?
RSV can cause asthma by causing airway inflammation.
He is young for allergies, but the pattern of respiratory viruses causing bad coughing (with or without wheezing) makes me think asthma.
well, we are back in on wednesday morning for his 2nd flu shot, so i will ask about asthma. his dad + i dont have it -- does that make any difference?
bichon, we mostly use inhalers with chamber with masks--quicker and easier to use for parents, especially in infants and toddlers.
two of my grandchildren have it + their parents. Very strong on my side. I take Advair and Montelukast
Eva, sometimes we use the term "reactive airway disease" to indicate that the airway are inflamed. I see the term RAD as a euphemism for asthma.
hrm. i dont think they have mentioned that to me.
Yes, bichon, their is a strong genetic component, But a RSV infection can then predispose kids to develop asthma.
unrelated, apparently we are having trouble stopping his....manhood from re-adhering (he is circumcised). any tips on that, other than pulling really hard (like the doctor did)?
Eva, I just want to provide another viewpoint and suggestion. Baby K has coughed for so long that placing him on Pulmicort by nebulizer for 6-12 weeks is reasonable.
I thought that circumcision avoided adhesions
Gentle traction and vaseline or hydrocortisone cream 3 times daily. And remember, if he were incirc'd the foreskin does not separate from the glans until age 4 yrs or so anyways. So, adhesions are common in circ'd boys.
TY, Scrabs - i appreciate any additional info i can have in my arsenal! i understand to some extent the whole "give it time, let it pass" mentality, but he has been rattly/wheezy for nearly 4 months. seems time to dive a little deeper...
Yes, I have been concerned with the length of this coughing and wheezing.
me too. overall, they have just been chalking it up to a bad season + the fact that he started day care.
i get that, but even this cant be normal.
Eva, there's also a second opinion b y a Pediatric allergist
Frequent colds, that is expected. But bad or recurrent coughing and wheezing raises the suspicion for "RAD" or asthma.
thanks, Dr Scrabs - i always appreciate your willingness to share information during your free time. :)
I hesitate to comment because I don't want to undermine the trust you have in your docs. I just want to suggest another plan.
I have looked at your docs' website and they appear to be an excellent group. I suspect they are hesitant to place Baby K on an inhaled steroid and are hoping that he will just get over this when the winter sick season ends soon.
Would an elevated mattress help....I have chronic bronchial asthma and i wheeze at night . If I elevate my head with pillows, I wheeze less.
GERD is always something to consider in a baby with chronic coughing and wheezing.
oh, i still trust them thoroughly. but a different viewpoint is always useful...i think, at least.
Yes, it is, Eva.
i believe they actually gave him 3 doses of a steroid when he got sick the 2nd time, but i dont believe it helped.
I don't have GERD as of yet anyway.
i believe it was an oral steroid, not an inhaled steroid.
HOW are baby K's tonsils doing? I had to have mine out when I was two yrs. old.
3 days is not long enough to know. I would try him on Pulmicort for at least 3-4 weeks of Pulmicort.
other than the rattly chest + occasional cough, hes a perfectly normal, healthy kiddo! bottom teeth already in + cutting top teeth as we speak (i was thinking the coughing may be related to the teething, since hes drooling like a faucet!)
only 196 to go
Go moo, go!
'morning, babblers
Hi welki
:)
I am watching The Andy Griffith Show. I watched this when I was a little kid. Great show.
ha - now everyone who's read your post is whistling the theme song
:)
The characters are wonderful--Aunt Bea, Opie, Barney, Otis, Gomer, Goober, Floyd. I used to walk home for lunch when I was in elementary school and I would watch this show while I ate lunch.
sounds like a great memory
50 to go
What?
remembering back to when you were a kid
10 minutes ago you needed to find 196. What is your strategy?
oh
well, I go through each letter and try and find as many words first
then I go back and look at the ones I have the most left on, and concentrate on those
My focus and execution is poor.
well, I've also been playing scrabble/boggle pretty competitively for over 20 years
that helps
I used to watch Cochise
I don't know that show, bichon.
m their
I was in love with Indians and Cochise was a Chiricauah chief
Enjoy the day, folks. I must get going.
g'day, Dr Scrabs - thanks again for your help!
seeya scrab

lol, i've had doubters but i never went that far
g stats?
I do believe in Mool, I do, I do, I do
I stand corrected. However, that sort of speed is beyond my comprehension & experience. I am reasonably literate and quick but you are talking about another planet!
I have been doing these grids for a while now and a list for them exists doesn't mean I have improve that much I rarely finish any of the grids and that's not because I haven't tried
hi jen
one of my dreams of what heaven will be like is that there will finally be some useful purpose to being able to find twisted up words in a grid of letters, lol
I usually resort to the list about 2/3 of the way through but still rarely finish the grid unless it's a small one. I have been playing this game for a few years.
lol hurshy well they do make competitions for scrabble players and jigsaw puzzle doers too so you never know:)
g stats?
a competition isn't a USEFUL purpose
go4/7 and pt
says who hurshy?:)
Somehow, we're saving the world. I just know it.
says me
go9= a Francis Ford Coppola film...
hurshy my husband uses big words all the time that he thinks I don't know lol. I explained this game to him and I don't think he likes it much as you know we have a lot of unwords
An appropriate clue from movieman
movieman has been waiting his whole life to clue that word
LOL
Oh yeah....
Can't wait for 'Exorcist' to appear in the grid....
I knew the name of the movie wasn't seeing it in the grid but it helps if I look in a different direcion
hahaha good one movieman

Hope you enjoy it kinda of a mixed bag :)
Love the Radical Face group. have heard that one on an advert here in the UK.

I love this tune at the moment.
I like what I am hearing so far :) Pretty and delicate song
It's quite nice...
Lorena_K Many thanks for putting your top five fave songs in your profile. I enjoyed all of them. Love finding new music as I like most genre!
Hello, Pen :-)

Hi Pen, glad things are going well for you.

Evening all. I'm firmly stuck at 46 left, but I fear it'll stay that way, as the hour grows late. Hope Friday is treating you well!
Hope Friday is treating you well too, Matty.

Friday's pretty good - after a year, I've finally been offered a job - woop!
ty got it. yeah pen! super clue
yeah matty!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations Matty. I didn't realize you had been a year without work. Hope it is a good fit for you.
Me too! It happened VERY quickly
I got a call from one of my semi regular recruitment consultants Wed morning - could I go for an interview either that evening or the following morning.
It is tough on your savings when you go a year without a paycheck.
I suggested Thursday morning, all was set up - a 1st interview (you know the thing, chit chat over CV and stuff)
I then get a call at lunchtime saying that as both (on separate occasions and for different companies) had seen me before, they'd like to do it as a second interview - and gave me a brief to do a task, so I turned a presentation around in around 6 hours, presented Thursday at 10, was offered the job at 12.30
I start on 10 May
CV=Resume?
Yep - resume!
Thanks. I always think of CV as more of an educational description of work. I'm still unclear about the UK vs US terms.
Sorry - yeah, here they call all resumes CVs.
I always find it funny that everyone, without fail (myself included) puts Cirriculum Vitae on top of their CVs. Like, what the hell else is it? It's like putting BOOK on the front cover of a book
I'm glad you got good news. It's tough to be out of work for that long.
Greetings, all! Just reading back in chat. Well done, Matty! Are you going to take the job?
That is interesting. Here in these united states, we do not put RESUME at the top of a resume. The standard format is to put your name and contact information there.
I have already accepted :)
Hello, Jellyfish Judi : D
Excellent!
I start on 10 May
Hiya, Molls. Jellyfish - just one in a series of stunning bioluminous fabuloso.
Under the heading (Curriculum Vitae) is the name and contact info. It's just a love of headings, I guess
Old habits die hard
Dust off the office clothes. Get out the iron.
Aaah, it's in marketing. I can wear jeans (happy days)
Shoo the moths and lint out of your wallet.
Yeah, and the 5 year old receipts and business cards of people I have no idea who they are, and loyalty cards for coffee places that exist only in one small town, 150 miles away
lol. Hmmm. Yes. Time to let go of the old.
Well, best of luck to you. Knock 'em dead.
My husband is interviewing for his old job (within the same company) next week. Larger utility company absorbed a smaller one. Changed job titles. Moved him to IT, even though he's not really an IT guy. Nonsensical staff shuffling. So, the new interview process is going before a tribunal where they ask you a myriad of questions. It's all so silly. He was the only one who did that job (for the past 20 years mind you). Rather an insult to make him interview for it, I think.
I agree Judi. I dislike corporate structure that decides that is a good idea.
It's a big eff you to the people who worked hard to get the company viable.
I HATE corporate politics and bureaucracy. Bunch of douchebags in stuffed suits who like to hear themselves talk.
I agree...times ten
Ahem. Present company excluded, of course (if anyone might fit that description).
Off to dinner! *POOF*
well, Judi may be gone but she reminded me of a funny story. one day i was walking down the street and i saw these corporate looking women ahead of me. dress suits, hair, makeup, the works. being another one who hates corporate stuff, i was immediately going, "yuck". then i got close enough to hear their conversation - it was about Jane Austen! so i learned a little lesson about not judging people by their appearance.
hi hursh
hi TO :)
i saw my first mummies today. not a pleasant experience, though fascinating.
where did you see them?
UPENN museum
i am well and truly stuck
i had to look up a four letter word. and i had the words around it. pathetic
the censors would put a stop to a four letter word here TO :D
hi everyone -- exhausting day with renovators -- too old for this!
renos on the new house or the old house, nan. I have missed a few steps of your story.
we have renos underway too...sigh
the new one -- thought we had everything we needed to do outlined, but discovered today that the LR-DR carpet, which we had planned to leave until the fall is rotting underneath, so we will have to redo it now as well
At any rate, the kitchen will be torn apart starting Monday and the Family room, LR-DR, and foyer floors taken up.
I did the kitchen last summer. It was was not too bad since the weather was nice to eat and cook outside but it went on forever. I sympathise with you too
I'm going to do some redo work this summer -- living room, hallway an kitchen flooring and kitchen countertops. Doing it myself with my son's friend's help. It will probably take forever :-)
get knee pads, origami! good luck with all that
Oh, yes. Knee pads have been ordered :D
