i spy with my little eye something beginning with s...
it's me, it's me! *jumps up and down and waves* Hello darling, how was your day?
*waving back* lollll quite nice actually. bitterly cold even for me. went out to a local tavern for lunch and then a nice drive through very wet, green scenery.
sounds good, apart from the cold then.
we were just a tad stir-crazy...
and you sweetie. how are you going?
I thought that was normal for you two? *ducks*
I am good. Slept okay, feeling up to my tasks for today.
*picks up angled water pistol* squirt, squirt
not the hair, not the hair!
*aims discreetly at sprite's decolletage* gotcha
*eeeeeeeks* that is cold!
well i never... i had my eyes closed too..
:D
not as friendly a grid as yesterday's, is it? Still, always fun to see there is a tr5/10 in babble that nobody minds seeing there
yeah, i had a giggle when i saw it.
we lived down cyber booh lee and alters, we can manage a simple tr5/10
yay us, we're the best... we are the champions..
*grins* the english word 'champions' is very close to the dutch word 'champignons' which means mushrooms. Somehow it doesn't sound as heroically when I sing "Weeeee are the little mushrooms..... my friends....."
lolll
oh I don't think I told you yet... or did I? About the last time I had my nails done?
yes you did. your reaction to the work done? have you had any satisfaction from the manicurist yet?
ah ok, didn't remember if I told you. Well, at least she finally managed to ask how things were going and how I was doing. I'll be going to somebody else in future though.
good for you. if she hadn't been so defensive would have been much nicer though
absolutely. Am thinking of going over there one more time to say goodbye and talk it out. Might give her a few pointers for future occasions.
wish i could be a fly on the wall..
:D so do I!
will call Dienie after babble and ask for the telephone number of her nail lady. And to fix a time to visit Dienie and Frank. Just before we went on vacation, Dienie told me Frank has been diagnosed with bowel cancer. Oncologist says there is a very good chance he will recover.
still, it is scary as hell
poor dienie and hubby. it is hell on earth what they have now got to go through. will hold them up in prayers. please keep me in the loop honey.
will do, hun. They can use the prayers. As you say, not a fun ride to go on.
btw i was so chuffed after my first run through the grid. i looked up to find i had only 29 words to go. couldn't believe it.
oh wow! You did much better than I then. I only had a little over half. Though I did find the 8 and 2x7 among them.
well done you... and you found those wretched k words too
yeah but that is easy... they are always the first ones I find. Won't go on babbling until I find them.
i am finding more and more that i am usually have on4 1 or 2 words to find from each tile... and SOMETIMES i even grey a tile on the way.
wow, you are growing strong!
hi there Rose and Sprite, was rushing to get a start on this grid, 100 down and off to bed
still no way as fast as you though
good job, flosey, and sleep well! *hug*
yay for flosey. hugs and kisses to send you off to dreamland.
thanks Sprite and Rose, and you have a good day
I have a few years on you, rose.
i don't think i told you what i had for lunch did i?
no, not yet. Tell me!
thick beef sausages on a bed of mashed potato with mushy peas.... and gravy
omg.... drooooool
soooo yummy
fireflies. Good grid, but not as much fun as yesterday's for me
never have any of that here at home. it was such a treat.
WTG SPRITE!!
time to give Dienie a call, then. *hugs* my darling. Sleep well tonight and enjoy tomorrow.
*hug* for Don too
hoe your day is glorious honey. xoxox
*hope* for goodness sake
and an extra hug for Rob
I see a female babbler, MO 5/16 is in the grid today. She gets to wear the tiara :-)
Ah, thanks Zoom. I love sparkly things. : D
:-)
Morning all. May I have stats for the Y, please?
YL 4/7 & YW 4/10
I should have seen the YW!
And if it was not for the YL 4/7 we would not be here today!
Thanks guys. Not where I was looking but have now found :)
That's true, Zoom!
Good morning. 7 mins before red boxes
Still on my first run-through
mole

*Gives a tiara to Ruby, since Ne5 is in the grid* : D
Done my first run through and have 78 words still to find.
Is that a silly ne4?
Better go grab a bite to eat. Have a great day/evening everyone. Happy babbling!

hi all
Hello everyone
yo yo yo car 'sup?
Not me...that is fo' sho! I could sleep for a week.
hi car hi sue
I felt that way all day yesterday. I'm blaming it on allergys. Today I took meds and the world is GLORIOUS.
Oh hi sue! I didn't see you over there.
Hello Sue, MLFan
Samantha is a little happy today:)
you could speak to a man in jamaica - best clue ever! After I quit looking for patois.
hi gramma
Hi.
It's amazing what a handful of tiny pills can do for you, y'know? Yesterday I was a tired lump that couldn't quit sniffling. Today: THE WORLD
I'm in Cleveland w/hubby. He is having a heart catheterization today.
I'm happy you found relief!
Oh dear. Will lift you all up Gramma.
Oh, gramma, I'm sorry to hear that. I do hope all goes well.
I am really scared.
Mind, all those pills aren't helping with the grid. I have 96 left and I'm about to go to Lickety; I'm stumped.
He comes from a long line of short livers.
I understand, gramma. It's really scary. All the numbers about hwo safe it si don't help.
Do you want distraction? Sympathy? Virtual hugs?
((gramma))
The doc said yesterday - 1 out of 200 have an issue. I thought he said 1-2 out of a hundred and I freaked a bit inside.
I'm just going to babble along until we have to go.
Yeah, 2% is different from half a percent, fer sher! Though I'd rather just skip the issue altogether, you know?
We have spent the last 42 years together and I just have him where I want him.
My husband went through surgeries a few years ago. It's scary, no matter how minor the procedure.
It's only minor if it isn't you or someone you love.
You're not going to be alone up there, are you? You have someone around to hold a hand?
The kids offered but I didn't believe that anything was wrong. My husband calls me Pollyanna.
How long is the procedure going to take? In my experience they'll let you sit with him up until the last possible moment.
We don't know how long because we're not sure what is going to happen. 3 scenarios. 1. all's well and we go home. 2. They put in stents if they need to. 3. Bypass surgery if they don't like what they find.
Oh, I see. This is diagnostic as much as anything else, then.
Yes. He's been having issues so we came here for a second opinion and we're glad we did.
Second opinions often turn out well. M and I had to be browbeaten into getting one when he had his issues, but it was a good choice.
Where are you now?
Cleveland Clinic is an amazing facility.
Yes! It is! I know people in the area and it's got an amazing reputation.
Like, it's completely worth traveling to.
The one thing that gives me comfort is that we couldn't have picked a better place.
Good vibes to you gramma - you lucky I have been with my DH for 46 years and he still won't do what I want
It was a 10 hour car ride but it went by quickly.
Do you like to drive? It's relaxing for me.
My husband researched and found this on his own.
I downloaded a bunch of podcasts and that helped to kep us entertained.
Yeah? What kind do you like listening to?
We are avoiding the Trump news as it is too upsetting.
No kidding. As much as anything else, I resent the fact that when I'm in a bad mood I can't tell whether it's hormonal or just a compeltely rational reaction to listening to the news.
Dear Sugar, and This American Life, and No Such Thing as a Fish.
Any suggestions for others?
"No Such Thing As A Fish"? What is THAT? I love the name but have no idea what it might be referring to.
Oh, the podcasts I listen to aren't for everybody. I love Welcome to Nightvale, but its sort of bizarre surrealistic humor is not to everyone's taste
They talk about some really random things and explore it beyond my capablities. It's very informative and fun.
And I have another I listen to, but it's (sort of) political; it's by a historian, who puts modern political events into historical contexts, and talks about times when this has happened before, and how it worked out.
I love it for its name: It's called "My History Can Beat Up Your Politics"
What's the name of that one?
Got it. I'll check it out.
You might try Radiolab, maybe: They cover a wide variety of stuff, so occasionally they'll get into current events, but they also do history and just funny stories.
http://www.radiolab.org/
Thanks i forgot about that one.
Where are you now? In a hotel?
Yes. We're at a brand new Holiday Inn on the Medical Center campus.
Nifty!
Well, I'll see you all later. It's time to head over.
Well, I'll see you all later. It's time to head over.
I think it was through Radiolab that I originally heard about the Allen Funt hijacking story. Have you heard about that?
Please let us know what happens? We're pulling for you here.
Greeting from Paris
Having fun, bichon?

Enjoy, enjoy!

😎
Ha Both of you

*waves to bugs*
i am done...
For good?
hello everyone. just came back.
Hi bugs
glad you are having good weather. it won't stop raining here
Sitting by the pool here
Must be 90 degrees still
was imagining that. just stop
just done with the grid, ru....
Vodka and grapefruit with ice?
Oh. That is good pen. I am relieved
hi, everyone
Hello welks
hi welki. good to see you again
thanks
hope you are well
had a scare with baxter last week, ru. i'm going to hell for it. i was talking with husband and accidentally gave him my pill instead of his.
*loves his view*
i'm okay, bugs - and the dog is on the mend
Oh jeez.
Is he ok now?
moral of the story - human pills/dog pills shall not share counter space
OMG you must have panicked
Oh i know that one
6am at the vet in my pajamas - i think he'll be fine. one last blood test in about 2 weeks to make sure
What did he take?
that would be the only time I am glad cats refuse to eat pills
500 mg naproxen (naprosyn)
Ooh
(instead of his apoquel)
Oooh
I am sorry welki
did he notice?
thanks, ru. i'm sure you know how much of a giant turd i feel like
Been there
no, he didn't notice, he was happy the whole way through. he'll be on meds for a total of two weeks, and we're hoping i didn't cause any long term damage. welki, the dog poisoner. (better than the dog murderer, i guess)
Fluids Welki. Lots of fluids
bugs, he was at the vets, after puking his guts up, drooling activated charcoal - and wagging his tail like he was at a party
yeah, ru - watching for kidney issues
God. I am sorry.
don't worry welki. I got that lecture about being a dog poisoner and felt all that guilt when I was 4 and painted a Great Dane dog with green house paint.
Yikes
he did't notice either
my husband, bless his welki-loving-soul, said, 'shit happens, could have been me'
poor Baxter. good thing is he won't remember and dogs don't hold grudges.
there was a gorgeous great dane at the vets - lots of beautfiul animals there, i got to see a lot of them (since i spent hours and hours there - in my charcoal dotted pajamas - folks must have thought i was -- well who knows what they though (and who cares))
and ru - the vet commented on what a well bred dog he is - nice to hear
you're right, bugs - he's happy to be home (he was there for two days). typical golden, just a joy
go easy on yourself. spending a day at the vets in your pjs is penance enough
thanks, bugs, but i won't be relieved until the next blood panet comes back clear
I would be just the same. here's to an early All Clear
*clink*
